author’s note: oh, don’t mind me, just writing some headcanons if saiki was ever a yandere.

• you and saiki first met in chūgakkō, junior high, but he didn’t fall in love with you until a few years later when you two were already in pk academy. maybe it’s all the accidentally bumping into him, dropping your papers and saiki being the one to help you pick them up, making awkward eye contact in class, hanging out with one another outside of school, or touching on the same snack you both are aiming for at either the vending machine or at the store... all the things somehow have you involved these recent days and saiki is less than impressed at first

• saiki has always stated time and time again that he personally does not think he will not fall in love, so he always watches others who are in love and help them if he can, but here he is…completely captivated by you of all people. he didn’t know why though, was the author just really that bored?

— however, since saiki was born with the uncontrollable ability to read the minds of all living creatures in a multiple-mile radius…he can read your mind, he knows all of your favorite things, what you dislike, your hobbies, and your address. he didn’t mean to at first, but he did find your thoughts and imagination fascinating. he even finds himself listening to you during class like you’re his favorite podcast

• saiki is crazily protective over you.

— there was a time where you nearly got mugged! and when i say ‘nearly’, well, let’s just say you should be grateful saiki was there to protect you. can’t you see that he’ll always be here for you in a time of need? he’ll keep you safe, but only if you see that for yourself…

• saiki doesn’t think he’s the jealous type, but he will stop any other man who has a crush on you by any means necessary by either relentlessly embarrassing them for the rest of the day or wiping you from their memory because only saiki can have you. no one else. he doesn’t care how many people he has to make forget you to become your boyfriend

• what’s that? you wish it was a sunny day in japan instead of a rainy one? don’t you worry about a thing! saiki will handle that for you!

• stalking you is almost child’s play to saiki since he has so many powers to ensure you don’t spot him — shapeshifting, teleportation, you name it! but this is a good thing because you don’t have to worry about him being an aggressive type of yandere

— if he is following behind you when you’re walking home, i do think saiki would change to his female self, so you would be less scared

• once the author made you bring coffee jelly to school and willingly give it up to saiki after seeing him light up at the sight of it, saiki knew that he just had to marry you

• he could, quite literally, turn the world upside down for you if it meant that you’ll be with him.

as apathetic as saiki aims to be, i find him to be the most caring and kind person in the entire show (and in general). i was just rewatching s1ep6 and actually cried from how genuinely sweet he is. i think god knew that he was the only person in the world who would really never misuse his powers. even without them, i think he would be a wonderful friend.

☆ Saiki kissing you in your forehead while you're sleeping.

You had a long study session, which turned into date, and had fallen asleep on his bed. It was getting late so he thought about teleporting you to your room but... 'Their parents would get suspicious about sudden appearance, so no.' Did he want to wake you and walk you home? A little bit because you were taking most of the bed which meant he would not be sleeping properly tonight. But deep down he didn't have the heart to do that so he let you be. Sigh escaped his lips as he shook his head. How did this happen... he used to be against this kind of behaviour. Few month ago he would probably wake you up and said 'Go home, it's late' or he wouldn't invite you at all. But now? He worries that you might not sleep good enough because of his presence beside you. Saikis gaze focused on your face. Slightly parted lips and soft skin... calm expression with ghost of a smile. It made Saiki smile a little. He walked up to you and sat down on his bed, cursing in mind when it made cracking noise. Slowly he lowered himself, making mental note that you changed your shampoo... it smelled nice. He brushed your forehead gently, making sure his touch won't disturb your sleep. He started placing soothing kisses on your forehead. With every kiss, he was muttering 'thank you' and 'i love you'. Sometimes there was 'Dummy' or 'Stupid' but in a cute way.

He laid down next to you he grabbed your hand, squizing it gently. Before he fell asleep he planted one last kiss, right next to your lips and whispered, something he didn't say in a long long time to you.

"I love you..."

Hello I would like to start this off by saying Kusuo Saiki is Aromantic and Asexual thank you and/or fight me about it 💗

Saiki is protective for the most part, could be considered a stalker with how much he enjoys listening in on your thoughts and imagination, however with the uncontrollable ability to read the minds of all living creatures in a multiple mile radius could you blame him? They just happens to be the most intriguing to the unfortunately physic Kusuo.

This man isn't anything you'd expect from a love crazed maniac, Saiki may spend most of his daily activities in your company but never has he demanded more time with you nor has anyone been harmed due to what he'd like to call his "preference " toward you. Saiki is one of the most respectful and considerate yanderes you'll ever meet, you think his mom raised him to be any different?

Kusuo may not be the jealous type, doesn't mean he won't take action if a typical man attempts to gain your fancy. He wont hurt them or anything, of course not, instead that rogue man will end up being beyond embarrassed by the end of the day, by seemingly unexplainable forces. If all that goes down doesn't send them running off certainly saiki coming around to collect you does, almost as if that man wasnt there to begin with kusuo simply says a greeting, guiding you back to the daily school tasks he enjoys so much with your company.

-You may not always understand Saiki, but you always jump in to help and defend him whenever the situation calls for it.

-Whether it be from uncomfortable situations or pushy people, you step in where you can to help the psychic out, knowing that he wasn’t a fan of social encounters.

-Your kindness is something Saiki appreciates beyond relief, and he takes solace in being able to simply exist around you without you annoying him or intruding into his business.

-You’re mindful of not only his privacy and comfort, but also of others’, and you do your best not to make anyone uncomfortable.

-Your sweet and genuine nature, even if not intentional, helps Saiki get through his days at school. Whether it be you mumbling to yourself about a low grade or debating with your friends about something, Saiki can’t help but smile or chuckle under his breath.

-Bringing treats over to his house as an apology when you drop in unexpectedly. He acts annoyed but he’s truly not bothered (especially when you’re bringing him desserts).

-Thanking him profusely every time he uses his powers to help you with something. You always tell him it's unnecessary but are grateful that he helps you nonetheless. Even with your constant insistence, he still tells you it’s more efficient.

-Subconsciously reciprocating the affection and care you show Saiki by him also helping you out of uncomfortable situations and paying attention to your habits and tells.

-Exasperated by your patience with others, but also finds it admirable.

-Impressed whenever you show off a particular skill by accident, even more so when you brush off any praise, especially if you demonstrate incredible athletic prowess.

-His parents are enamoured with you, especially since on the surface, it seems as if you two are complete opposites. They’re thankful their son has someone so kind-hearted looking after him and always welcome you into their home with open arms.

-Never tolerates disrespect toward you, especially if you only ever want to help. He usually uses his psychic powers to get back at bullies or rude people in general. Makes sure to be subtle about it though, because he knows you would scold him about it if he got caught.

-Generally does his best to look after you, especially since you're always looking after him. And though he isn't very vocal about it, he appreciates your meddling into his life more than he's ever able to convey.

NOTE ꒱ i love the saiki k characters so much they’re like a fond memory.

KUSUO SAIKI

• surprisingly, saiki has social media.

• private account, of course. 0 posts, 0 followers, 0 following, (12 follow requests which he will never accept).

• claims it helps him be percieved as 'average' (he's keeping tabs on his friends those nuisances that follow him around).

• enjoys baking videos! when he finds a recipe he likes, him and his mother will make it together.

• he's one of those people who use perfect punctuation and grammar whilst typing. never turned off auto-capitalisation.

• dry texter by choice, not by chance. he's less dry when he's speaking online to someone he actually likes, but not by much (by less dry, you get a sentence instead of a one-word answer).

• leaves everyone on delivered most of the time.

• tried changing his number multiple times, but someone always manages to get hold of it so he just gave up.

SHUN KAIDOU

• no one wants to say it so i will. he uses wattpad.

• tried to use ao3/fanfiction.net but found it too difficult so he stuck to his roots.

• he would definetly write paragraphs upon paragraphs of the lore of the-jet-black-wings and dark reunion, as well as the origins of the power sealed within his right arm (black beat) and why it is DETRIMENTAL that this power is never unleashed or stolen by evil.

• everyone in the comments think that it's just a cool original story idea.

• absolutely inserts his friends as original characters in his lore. i might make a whole seperate post about this.

• he also uses reddit. where else is he going to get story ideas?

• has these apps pin locked and hidden in his phone, on the off-chance his mother decides to look through it.

• ABSOLUTELY plays roblox, his username is something cringe he made when he was ten (like the rest of us), refuses to change it. account is -13 for some reason.

• he has spent a lot of money on roblox. a troubling amount.

• types in lowercase, except when he's talking to his mother, then it's all punctuation and manners.

AREN KUBOYASU

• still purchases burner phones even though his gangster days are over. old habits die hard.

• uses an ipad more often than not.

• plays roblox with kaidou, is a bacon hair. his messages constantly get filtered because he still doesn't realise you can't swear on roblox. warned almost everyday - on the verge of being banned.

• watches motorcycle tiktoks, it's literally all his fyp is. the comments he leaves are usually just questions relating to the specs of the bikes.

• is the member of the group that pays for netflix and disney+ and lets everyone leech off of him.

• reformed aren posts pictures of his friends and himself, it's actually a really normal page - which is his goal.

• pre-reformed aren would just post videos of him flexing, and all of his fights. there's a lot of fights.

• also: mullet pics.

• is on reddit SOLELY for the purpose of biker groups. could probably write a thesis on an single engine part. probably has. don't ask him to show you.

RIKI NENDOU

• this guy BARELY knows how to operate a phone, let alone the internet.

• only really uses his phone to google stuff and talk to his buddies.

• nendou... is so bad at spelling... like... SO bad.

• half the time nobody can decipher his messages it's just that horrendous.

• uses emojis, but doesn't open the emoji tab?? so he'll type the emoji he wants and then leave the word prompt in the message?? (ex: 'ramen 🍜 after school 🏫 ?')

• made a seperate account for koriki no.2 but just uses it as his own.

• his first time posting a picture of himself one of those ⓘ - generated by ai messages was under it. THEY THINK HE’S TOO UGLY TO BE REAAALL.

• unintelligible comments left on everything he sees.

• also likes everything he sees. his fyp/explore pages are filled with nonsense. nothing makes sense.

• there are a lot of cute animal videos though - this is a recurring theme.

REITA TORITSUKA

• sigh.

• falls for those ads that are like: 'horny women in the area ready to fuck'.

• REALLY?? WHERE?

• has a lot of malware downloaded without his knowledge.

• a reddit troll, there's no doubt about it. he LIVES to piss people off on that site. think colin robinson in that one episode (this is a niche reference).

• i regret to inform everyone, but before omegle shut down... he was a regular.

• probably has several failed business ideas. also has probably invested in cryptocurrency, bragged about his newfound riches, lost his newfound riches due to the market collapsing, and the cycle continues.

• says outrageous things on twitter. outrageous. one might even go as far as to say heinous.

• probably has hate pages made about him.

KINESHI HAIRO

• without a doubt has a gym bro tiktok account, might be a disciple of joey swoll.

• reposts those 'before and after' gym pictures with messages of congratulations to the person - he's so sweet. >_<

• probably has a couple thousand followers, a lot of people from his local gym follow him.

• contrary to popular belief, he doesn't type with caps on all the time. keeps auto capitalisation on and uses a lot of exclamation marks though.

• is the person who created the class groupchat. and the group chat of the ENTIRE school year. he literally added EVERYONE to it.

• follows everyone? like... people don't even know how he knows everyone but he does?? (he's just really friendly).

• there's multiple videos that he's tagged in of him doing kind things for people, hairo is such a sweetheart guys.

• uses his platform to give fitness advice to people. there's a lot of motivational quotes plastered on his accounts.

KOKOMI TERUHASHI

• of course teruhashi has social media, how else will she broadcast her beauty?

• she has SO many message requests, dedicates hours a day to respond to them to maintain her 'perfect pretty girl' status.

• posts once every week at a scheduled time, get's thousands of likes without fail.

• has a finsta for her close friends.

• doesn't have tiktok but somewhow still has fan accounts on there. and on every other site.

• is really into conspiracy theories, although she won't publicise this or her stance on anything either. she must remain neutral.

• her @'s and tags are mostly full of her fans taking pictures with/of her. she appreciates it, of course! but it's still strange...

• has her brother blocked (thank god).

• has numerous ootd highlights, the people eat it up everytime.

MIKOTO AIURA

• chronic pinterest addict

• unironically uses yubo (she needs help)

• her instagram highlights are so fun to go through, it's messy but it's a hot mess

• posts A LOT, like multiple times a day

• consumes a lot of yoga/meditation media.

• a lot of her media intake is different subcultures of gyaru (obviously), but she's really into haute couture.

• she actually streams on twitch sometimes, mostly to do online readings for people - she also does makeup tutorials and posts fashion advice!

• has also been banned by twitch several times for bypassing terms of service. (it's not her fault that the admins are sensitive).

• her most used app is probably spotify. has ayesha erotica in most of her playlists.

• she has a seperate account for her business, she posts newly decorated crystal balls each week and does free weekly readings in order to promote herself.

CHIYO YUMEHARA

• runs a semi-popular baking yt, (which saiki follows, to the knowledge of no one)

• used to post gacha life love story videos.

• might be the only person who knows about kaidous secret wattpad account (bar saiki obviously), reads everything he writes and inserts herself into his scenarios.

• types all cutesy and uses emoticons like there is no tomorrow

• 'hai hai everyone!! (^_^)' <- for example.

• buys sketchy stuff off aliexpress that promise the most ludicrous results (ex: she buys fat burning/slimming creams and expects them to give her a perfect beach body, gets confused when it gives her a rash and then buys more).

• has an etsy shop and makes custom jewellery (makes it free for her friends and leaves it in their desks with a custom note, it's very wholesome).

• her notes app is under LOCK AND KEY. that shit is more secure than the nuclear codes.

CHISATO MERA

• doesn't have a phone. can't even afford gas and electric, let alone internet. is poor.

• BUT IF SHE WASN'T!!

• would join giveaways even if they're obviously fake. she's desperate.

• miraculously end up WINNING ONE?? she gets flown out to be featured in one of those obnoxious youtubers videos and comes back with a fat paycheck and ridiculously expensive electronics (which she eventually sells, probably to pay the rent).

• is a reoccurring guest on yumehara's yt channel, as a taste-tester, obviously.

• was also meant to critique the food but she rates everything a 10/10 so was not very useful.

• her most used app? let's all be honest with ourselves, it's a food delivery one.

• has the most games downloaded out of everyone, mostly to entertain her siblings when they're bored.

IMU RIFUTA

• has a really cute and aesthetic tumblr - yet somewhow doesn't know what fanfiction is?

• dear god this girl uses everskies. she ABSOLUTELY uses everskies. has been banned several times.

• has so many throwaway accounts. like it breaches fifty, it's getting to be a problem.

• definitely argues with people on public forums, you can't convince me that this girl doesn't have festering anger building up inside her, arguing online is like a rage room for her.

• her phone layout is one of those aesthetic pink ones, she spent hours on it. hours.

• this girl is a MASTER stalker. has every social media under the sun, even the ones nobody has heard about in years.

• is unnervingly good at editing photos and videos.

• her alts are constantly getting suspended for harassment. has anonymously harassed saiki multiple times (he knows its her).

• everything she posts is really over-the-top with cutesy filters, like, blindingly so.

I hope you enjoy this!!!!! I had a blast writing it, and I think it’s absolutely adorable. Here’s some soft Saiki for the soul-

If someone had told Kusuo that he would be spending part of winter break with his friends, in a cabin, hidden in the mountains, he would’ve laughed. Famously stoic Kusuo Saiki would have broke into laughter at the thought of being stuck with his dumbass friends(affectionate).

At this moment in time, he was not laughing.

The outside air was chilly, and the clock had just struck 3:30am. Kusuo was seated on the edge of the living room couch, calmly sipping a mug of tea, and observing the chaos unfolding in front of him.

Said chaos was Aren and Kaidou exasperatedly teaching Nendou and Toritsuka how to play poker. The two seemed to have the hang of it… until they didn’t.

“Nendoooooooou.” Kaido groaned through his hands, “This is not blackjack. You don’t say hit me.”

The pinkette exhaled fondly, resting his cheek on his closed fist. He was not inherently against playing a few rounds, but realistically, his powers would keep him from playing fairly, so he opted to watch the chaos unfold.

Saiki would be lying if he didn’t say he was enjoying himself. It was purely schadenfreude, but he did love watching Kaidou absolutely shit himself when Nendou would end up with round-winning hands.

The psychic boy was content with himself. He barely even noticed how late it had gotten until someone made him…

A sudden weight on the right side of the couch made him avert his gaze from the table. His eyes locked onto you. You were bundled up in your blanket, most definitely exhausted, and yet unable to sleep at the same time.

“You’re up late, can’t sleep?” Kusuo asked softly, tuning out the din from the card-players.

“Mmm.” You replied, blinking the drowsiness out of your eyes, “Why are you awake?”

Kusuo scoffed in amusement, and pointed to the table across the room.

“What are they-“ you cut yourself off with a forced yawn ripping from your throat, “what are they playing?”

“Poker.” The pinkette replied, “at least they’re trying to.”

The boy went on to explain to you how the four had been at this for quite some time. His words fell deafly upon your ears after a while. While you were glad that you were finally tired, you didn’t want to stop listening to Saiki tell you stories.

Thankfully, Kusuo’s powers let him know exactly what to expect in that moment. As he calmly recounted his tale, he carefully put his tea on the end table, and moved a pillow onto his lap.

Within a second, you nodded to convey that you were listening (you were not), and then your eyes fluttered closed while you fell forward, murmuring about how you were “going to lay down for a little bit”. With an effortless swoop of his arms, the pinkette caught your exhausted figure, carefully lowering your head onto the pillow.

His hands found refuge in your hair, fingers carding through it absentmindedly as he continued to speak. His words flowed like honey, and his tone was low and gentle.

“You wouldn’t believe how many times Nendou actually had a decent hand. Kaidou was losing his mind almost every roun-“

Eventually, he realized that he was talking to absolutely no one anymore, and that you had fallen asleep. He removed his hand from your head, opting to rest it on your side instead.

“I suppose it can’t be helped.” He murmured, removing his glasses and closing his eyes. Despite his resting state, he was still perfectly cognizant of his surroundings.

Kusuo was 100% aware of Nendou taking a photo of the two of you, along with with Aren berating him for it. But what he wasn’t expecting was for Toritsuka to settle onto the couch next to him, resting his head on Saiki’s shoulder, and for Kaidou to cover the three of you with a blanket.

Maybe his friends weren’t the worst people in the world.

Saiki x Child!Psychic!Reader

Back from my 8 month break 🤪

Saiki immediately notices your psychic abilities. At first Saiki’s taken aback by you but he is also intrigued by your mastery over your powers at such a young age.

The both of you do have a naturally apathetic and stoic demeanor. You guys wouldn’t feel the need to express your emotions overtly, which also creates an unspoken understanding between you two. Y’all would communicate without words, often understanding each other's thoughts and intentions rather quickly.

I feel like both you and Saiki would enjoy conducting psychic experiments together. For example both of you would push the boundaries of your powers, exploring new techniques, and would test your limits. I imagine both having a shared interest in psychic phenomena that becomes a source of excitement for both of you.

Despite both of them having a apathetic nature, Saiki and you would have a strange but strong empathy for each other. Saiki would understand the struggles and responsibilities that come with being psychic. Saiki often go through the same challenges as you so i imagine you trying to get advice out of Saiki.

Saiki WOULD develop a protective nature towards you, understanding the challenges that they may face due to your psychic abilities. He takes it upon himself to shield you from unwanted attention and potential dangers.

“uh– why are those two shouting? are they having an argument?” hairo asked his friends as he watched you and kaidou scream at each other.

“no, y/n just scraped her knee and kaidou freaked out.” kuboyasu explained, shaking his head at the scene.

“BAHAHA LOOK AT HIS FACE–” nendou held his stomach as he laughed at the clueless looking kaidou.

it was true, kaidou had no idea how to help you.

you two had just started dating a week ago, so when he found out that you were so clumsy, he swore to himself that he would always protect you from both the dark reunion and yourself!

but here you were, standing in front him with blood trickling down your knee after you had scratched it against one of the desks around you.

he stared at the wound with both concern and fear,

‘this must be the work of the dark reunion! how dare they hurt my y/n!’

he dramatically clenched his fists and furrowed his brows, as his face twisted into an angered expression.

“d- don't you worry, my white feathered dove! i'll uh.. i'll just use one of my many powers to heal you! yeah!”

he told (shouted at) you, gripping your shoulders and giving you a determined smile.

“you will? oh, please help me, jet black wings! im losing so much blood.. i think im dying!”

you said, looking at him with droopy eyes. you placed a hand on your forehead, pretending that you were about to fall back.

he gasped and quickly caught you, pulling you into his arms.

“don't you give up on me, my dove! i- i'm just charging up my powers for a second, so hang on!”

deep down, you were giggling at how cute he was being right now.

you knew about his hero complex and even though it was a bit weird for a highschool student like him, you found it absolutely adorable. so you always played along with his little shenanigans.

“oh please, jet black wings! i feel the oxygen leaving my lungs already! i think you might need to give me mouth-to-mouth resuscitation..”

“i do?!” kaidou screamed as his cheeks flushed red.

‘what the hell does that have to do with a scraped knee?’ saiki thought to himself.

the pink haired boy sighed internally as he started to get annoyed at how obnoxiously loud you two were being.

he started looking around a class, trying to find a way to possibly shut the both of you up.

soon, an idea popped into his head as his eyes landed on something that might help the situation.

suddenly, a not-so-hard metal box flew on to kaidou’s head, hitting him at high speed.

you gasped, reaching out to cradle his head.

“a- are you okay?! what was that?”

kaidou shrieked and rubbed his head, looking down to see the object that hit him.

he grabbed the box and shook it in his hands.

‘what is this? is the dark reunion targeting me next?!’

he hesitantly opened the box, silently expecting for something to jump out and attack him.

but his eyes quickly lit up as he saw a roll of bandages, rubbing alcohol and some cotton buds.

“aha! j- just as i planned! i feared that i would accidentally hurt you more, knowing that my powers are too strong and out of control.. so i used them to summon the first aid kit, that way i could heal you safely!”

you could only stare at kaidou in awe, watching him as he started to clean your scrapped knee with shaky hands.

‘d- does kaidou really have powers..?’ you thought, blankly staring at the wall behind him.

‘dumbasses..’ saiki thought, resting his head on his chin after you two finally calmed down.

Good grief...

That was the only thing he could say. You were a persistent annoyance in his life just like his inner circle of friends which he didn't even know how it came to be.

But...there was one thing different about you that being he didn't quite mind your 'annoyance' of a presence. In fact, he was the one who created a situation where you would become a part of his life.

Why?... Because he was intrigued. Intrigued with your goth-like appearance. Intrigued with your spookishly creepy borderline strange behaviour. Intrigued with your whole vibe. He went through the hassle of creating such a set up that you'd have no choice but to talk to him. He even went as far as to convince Teruhashi and Aiura to let you be in the group(of course indirectly) just to be close to you. To get to know you.

You, who always adorned a black robe or trench coat even if ment breaking through the school uniform rules and getting away with it. Your long painted black nails and long winged black liner that contradicted your full blood red lips that were always twisted in a smirk.

The way your head was always held high with those knee high black boots that boosted your already very tall height even more. It gave you an almost ethereal vampire-like look.

What amused him more than anything though, was the people more or less feared you, tried to get away from you, not knowing in the end you just feasted upon their fears only to gain your own amusement as well as motivation. Motivation to continue this and scare them ....it got a good laugh out of you.

Especially when they see your stationary like your leather Black notebook which was titled the 'Wills of the Dead' or your water bottle that had drips painted upon them and 'poison' written on it. You even went as far as colouring your water red with food due to make it seem as if your drinking blood.

It was all very amusing to him. Even more so because despite your gothic appearance you were more or less a very kind soul...in your way. But nevertheless there wasn't a single time where you could have helped out but won't. You were the literal definition of 'Never judge a book by it's cover' and that was what he loved about you.

Yep. You heard it right. The Saiki Kusuo was in love with you. How? Not even I know.

I left this for a LONG while but now I’m kinda back on my Saiki K brain rot, I’m here to finally do this!

Was this stalking? Potentially…Hypothetically speaking from a certain moral standpoint…yes.

However what made this different from stalking was that Saiki was good at masking his stalking and by ‘good,’ I mean that his friends -mainly Nendo and Kaidou in specific- lack the social awareness skills to detect that he was doing it in the first place; Which was the perfect excuse Saiki could use in continuing to delving deeper into his self appointed mission. To understand how we got to this point in the story where our beloved pink haired, cynic psychic found himself tailing you from a distance under a suspicion, we must go back to that morning where PK Academy was in the midst of receiving of initiating a new transfer student.

First Kuboyasu Aren, then Saiko Metori, now you? Hasn’t the whole transfer student trope ran itself into the ground by this point? Saiki questioned whilst you were going through the mandatory self introductions to the rest of his home room but that wasn’t as engaging as the fact that within the sea of thoughts belonging to his peers, yours, much like Nendo’s, didn’t seem to be there; Not a blip, not a sound, nothing. Almost as though you were made out to have possessed a higher level of comprehension which rendered internalised thoughts and speech almost unethical. Saiki knew that you were smarter then Nendo, which wasn’t saying much as seemingly everyone and their domesticated animals such as dogs and cats were smarter then Nendo.

So why was it that he couldn’t hear your thoughts? He immediately ruled out the probability of you being just like him because that was just wishful thinking based upon little to no factual evidence that could’ve potentially pointed him towards that conclusion. Maybe your thoughts were just too quite for him to hear? Then again Saiki could hear the thoughts of a mouse as clear as day and they were usually quite loud for something so small bodied and generalised as quiet. So before Kaidou begins to inevitably spout his rhetoric. No, Saiki didn’t think you were an impeccably built android with the strength to bench press a bus or two, sent to PK Academy under the employment of Dark Reunion; He just had to get that out there before he would unfortunately be asked by the blue haired boy later on.

With the mystery concerning his shortcomings in reading your thoughts driving the pink haired psychic into a state of potential paranoia. Saiki did what he does best when faced with similar situations; observe from afar. (Read: stalk the person until they’ve proven themselves no longer a threat to him.) which leads us back to where we originally left off.

It was lunch period and Saiki knew something was off when you didn’t follow everyone else to the cafeteria and instead chose to walk in the opposite direction towards the school gates. Where are they going? Don’t tell me they’re already getting lost. Good grief someone should’ve at least shown them the school layout first before dropping them off at home room. On another note it only just occurred to me that in certain tv shows set in a high school and or college, the whole ‘getting lost’ trope just grows increasingly more redundant when you consider the fact that it’s a sloppy, unoriginal and overplayed method used in introducing the love interest(s) to the audience. Goes to show that Show runners have gotten lazier as of recent.

Saiki peers his head out of the doorway just to see that you turn round the corner, unsuspecting of his deadpan gaze, before he checked the hallway of any potentially unwarranted encounters, mentally sighing in relief when he found it vacant of any and all hinderances. Before he turned the same corner, Saiki expected you to be a few paces away from but to his slight surprise, you had vanished; Well corporeally vanished as the pink haired male could still sense that you were still well within his 200 meter radius. Then it occurred to him that you had just turned yourself invisible when you sensed that you were being watched. However before Saiki could react, you had disappeared from his radio is entirely. Enter your second ability: teleportation.

“What’re you following me for?” Your voice came from behind him so suddenly and without warning that almost let slip some emotion across his face. You’re just like me. “What’re you talking about, your making no sense.” You said, noting how Saiki didn’t speak with his mouth but more so through a telepathic link, connecting the two of you. Saiki sighed, closing his eyes briefly before opening them again. Just watch. After he said that, Saiki himself vanished before your very eyes, causing your eyes to grow wide and a gasp of surprise to leave your lips as you tried to figure out where he could’ve went; praying that no one saw either of you displaying your powers.

Come to the school gate. Saiki commanded shortly but sensed that you were about to question why he adds, look, I’m not stupid enough to put us at risk of being spotted. I’m not Nendo, you chuckled at the comparison, besides I think it’s high time we have a talk about what else your capable of doing. So just get down here, I don’t care how you do it, teleportation or not, just get down here before I start rethinking my choices. “Alright, alright. I’m coming, no need to get all mardy at me. ‘I’m just sceptical is all.” You muttered. I heard that. “Yeah your supposed to genius.” You retorted as you teleported to the school gates where Saiki was waiting for you with a plastic bag of…coffee jellies? Your face must’ve said it all for Saiki as he huffed, subconsciously holding the bag closer to his being. What? I got hungry and decided to treat myself.

“You’re unbelievable, could’ve bought me something.” You scoffed lighthearted. Please, I don’t even know what you like because you’ve been blocking me from your thoughts, so why don’t you go buy it yourself rather then relying on me. Saiki rebutted as he entertained himself to one of his coffee jellies as you then took up his advice and teleported to the nearest convenient store to buy yourself a couple of snacks before teleporting back to the school gates; Saiki was already on his second coffee jelly. You parked yourself next to him and began to eat in silence.

“May I have a coffee jelly?”

i tried to mimic the straightforward, fast-pace, absurdness(?) of the show- i hope i did it justice ;,)

Kusuo, as much as he tries not to, cannot help attracting people into his life. He does his best to avoid socializing and standing out by minding his own business, hoping others will do the same.

But instead (and seemingly without doing anything), he’s acquired a large group of friends who greatly admire and care for him. It’s undeniable that they could be troublesome, but he still goes the extra mile for them and even those he doesn’t know well. You were in Kusuo’s class and lived in his area, so he often saw you in and out of school, and just like the rest of his friends, you managed to meddle your way into his life. You’ve repeatedly witnessed his kindness and compassion, and each time you’ve confronted him, he’d brush it off and chalk it up as an interference to his peace.

Kusuo was pretty bland to you besides his funky accessories and bright pink hair, but you found he was an easy person to talk to, mostly because (and sadly enough, depending on perspective) the conversations you had with him were pretty one sided. You didn’t think much of Kusuo’s quietness, and took him to be a good listener instead of someone who was disinterested in what you had to say.

Over time however, whatever irritation Kusuo originally had with you faded as you familiarized yourselves with one another. He found himself hanging out with you and contributing more to your conversations (telepathically, of course) out of his own volition. If he wasn’t forced to hang out with Kaido and Nendou, and maybe sometimes Aren, he was usually spending time with you. He seemed to tolerate you more than anyone else in his life because of your patient understanding nature. You were non-invasive, never forcing Kusuo to do anything he didn’t want to, and covered for him whenever he was confronted by others so as to avoid further attention. For your kindness, he’s subconsciously given you his time and attention and is a little more lenient with allowing you into his life.

Saiki discovered with time that the two of you actually share a lot of common interests, such as a love for video games and manga. On top of that, he also greatly respected your determination, hard work, and open mindedness.

“Why does Y/N get to…?!” his other friends would groan out or shriek in irritation when he enabled you over them, to which he’d deadpan, “because they’re not insufferable like the rest of you.”

Even though you two have always been strictly friends, Kusuo just cannot help getting himself into tricky situations as well, and so no matter how hard he tries to make it seem like the opposite, somehow people are always getting the wrong idea when the two of you are together.

It’s hard to tell who exactly was the first in Saiki’s friend group to suspect anything, but his friends all at once slowly started acting unnatural when the two of you hung around together or talked about each other.

The people who addressed the elephant in the room first were Toritsuka and Mikoto.

Saiki and the two were dealing with a dangerous situation, which was surprisingly and maybe even alarmingly normal considering the nature of Saiki’s friends (being psychics and all), when you suddenly approached him in the midst of their chaos.

You called a greeting toward him and his friends and then started rambling about your day, completely oblivious to the danger the group was trying to tame. You brought up a low grade you got, an annoying teacher, and then asked Saiki if he wanted to go out to a cafe after school.

But Saiki suddenly grabbed your shoulders and looked you firmly in the eyes, catching you and the other two psychics off guard, because they stopped whatever panicking they were doing to watch.

A beat of silence. “Saiki?” “I’ll meet up with you at the cafe, alright? I’ll even treat you, just get out of here.”

And you’re confused on why he sounds so serious and urgent, on why his grip on you is so firm, but you’re patient, and so all you do is stare at him with a small frown and go “okay.”

You said your goodbyes and headed off with the group watching you do a double take before disappearing behind a corner.

And Kusuo immediately regrets holding onto you when he turns around to the stunned looks on his friends’ faces, who, after a moment of processing the sight, are in his face.

“I knew it! I knew the two of you were dating! You don’t have a heart of stone after all!” “I wish you would’ve told us, Kusuo! They’re cute, too!”

He’s insanely annoyed by this, obviously, and immediately shuts down the mistranslation. “Quiet! I’m not dating anyone and stay out of my business. We have to continue…”

But from there, the situation only worsened. Everyone was thinking it, everyone was feeling it. It was only a matter of who was finally going to say something about it. And of course, Saiki knew everyone was thinking it, but he truly didn’t think it would escalate into something intrusive.

And after the psykickers, seemingly everyone decided to speak up about it.

You were talking to Saiki before class began, and when you were invited over to talk to another friend, Kaidou and Aren appeared by the esper’s desk. “Is it true?! Are you and L/N dating?!”

“No. Get out of my face.”

“I didn’t really see it at first,” Aren thought out loud to himself, ignoring his wish. “L/N’s pretty friendly with everyone, but the two of you oddly enough make sense. You look good together!”

Saiki stared exasperatedly. Saiki respected Aren for being one of the more level headed members of his friend group, but even he was on about this?

“What are you talking about Kuboyasu? My pal’s irresistible!” And now Nendou was joining the conversation, approaching Kusuo’s desk with his hands in his pockets. “Congrats buddy! They’re a real cutie!”

“Hey! What are you gents talking about?” Hairo’s voice boomed out. Him too? Why was everyone so interested in the conversation?

“Saiki and L/N,” Kaido answered as Hairo joined the semi-circle formed around Saiki’s desk. Hairo's face lit up, immediately catching on just from the mention of your names. “Ooh! So it’s true, huh? I always suspected something! I’m happy for you both!”

“Enough! I’m not dating L/N! Where are you all getting this stupid impression from?”

“What are you talking about?! You two always come in a pair!” Kaido cried out in defense and stared at his friend incredulously.

“Yeah, everywhere you go, L/N isn’t far behind. You can’t find one without the other.” Aren added almost hesitantly as Saiki stared with his mouth forming a small “o” shape.

This came as a surprise to him. He was always so keen on living a “normal” and peaceful life, finding others a threat to this aspiration and doing his best to block them out because of it. He didn’t socialize or attempt to make friends, but apparently he could live his “normal” life with you in it. You casually followed him-- and him you-- and he found comfort in and outside of your “normalcy”-- your presence, your everyday tasks and conversation; even your uniqueness. You became a part of his normal at some point, his peace.

When did that happen?

“You bring them everywhere with you, dude. I think L/N’s the only person who can get you to come out of your shell a little.” Hairo commented with a short laugh and scrunched brows as he thought aloud.

Saiki admits that he’s more willing to try new things or do something he initially didn’t want to if you’re there with him. He trusts you, and so if you’re involved, he supposes he doesn’t mind getting involved either. Sometimes when he asked about the two of you constantly tag teaming, he’ll say something like “they wanted to come along” or “Y/N convinced me to go” and Kusuo himself is a little surprised that he never realized how that looked and sounded like to his friends, who knew him to be pretty reserved and introverted.

“Oooh! Are we talking about Saiki and L/N?” Oh no. Not…

“Teruhashi!”

“Sorry to interrupt the conversation, but I couldn’t help but overhear you boys talking about L/N! They’re always telling me about you Saiki! It’s so nice how you do so much for them!”

Does he really do a lot for you? Yes, yes he does, and Teruhashi has heard it all. You don’t talk about it excessively or ever make it seem like a brag, but it slips up so casually in conversation that even Kokomi, with all her admirers, finds it endearing how natural Saiki’s urge to take care of you is.

Trouble at work? Saiki’s on the job. He’ll get your annoying manager to stop bugging you or help you clear out the place faster after a long day. An item you casually mentioned you wanted? Knowing Saiki, he probably goes through hell and back trying to get it for you, but even so he never spends too much time indulging you in the details of how he obtained it. A classmate giving you a hard time? Saiki’s loyalty is more evident than ever. Even Teruhashi is taken aback when you share your experiences with him.

“I’m so jealous! I wish I had someone like that!” Chiyo groaned out from behind the group as Kokomi and Hairo made space for her to join the discussion.

With so many of his friends taking notice of these things, Kusuo is forced to acknowledge and reflect on them in that moment, especially when they’re suggesting something beyond friendship.

He consistently swoops in to save you from bad situations, even when you insist that you can handle yourself. And Saiki knows you can, he doesn’t always doubt you, but he tries to make it seem that way or as if you were an inconvenience. In reality, Saiki never exactly knew what urged him to help you out so much. With his other friends, everything he did felt like a one sided favor. But with you, it was something more. He was okay with taking care of you.

And he can’t help but smile when he sees how excited you are about something. Saiki’s cold demeanor sticks most of the time, but it’s typically in private or away from his friends’ prying eyes that Saiki’s shoulder relax a little and he lets himself enjoy your presence. With his responsibilities and burdens as a psychic, romance was absolutely off the table.

But maybe…

“Hey everyone! What are we talking about?”

Both the conversation and Saiki’s daydreams immediately halt as everyone turns toward the sound of your voice. You slowly approach the group with a smile on your face. “Talking about that test?”

Even Kusuo is staring dumbly at you, but before anyone could open their mouths to answer, the bell rang, signaling the beginning of class.

As the teacher called everyone to return to their seats and the group broke apart, Saiki briefly looked down and then toward you in the seat across from him, watching you unpack your supplies.

Good grief. His troublesome friends really got to him.

How could anyone not tell from the way you’re always protecting them to always hanging around one another, though it’s definitely an odd pairing but one you two seem to make work. It’s almost like a cliche in a romance film!”
