well since there's 31 stories (fanfics included) in my wipslist i will tell you about the two original stories i made up most recently!
the first one is that, due to having similar names, a drag queen and a drag racecar driver are mistaken for each other on each other's respective reality shows. after the initial disastrous competition, where they are bad at things they are new at, they meet up at the hotel's bar (both crews share a hotel) and console each other about their problems during filming. partway through they realize they were confused through their no fault of their own and that they are just going to be bad at the thing they don't specialize in. they end up demanding a meeting with the studio execs, to propose tutoring each other so they have a fighting chance at winning the contest they aren't good at. and since this makes for good drama, the execs agree.
i haven't really decided much beyond that, but i know they become ride or die friends after that. this is a story about feeling out of place and finding a companion whose just as lost as you are. i have to do some research for this story though because i don't know much about either topic!
the next one is a sillier story about two college roommates who become fast friends, who get isekai'd together into their allo roommate's new favorite otome game. instead of romancing the protagonist or whatever, they soon realize that the protagonist of the otome game, who is a customizable character, looks different each day and they are the only ones who remember the past looks. along with the protagonist's changing hairstyle, outfit, and gender, the genre of video game they are in also changes too. can these two figure out what kind of videogame they are in today, before they run out of lives?
again, this one also requires research because i don't know much about the genres of video game

thank you for tagging me @saga-ordsmed 💙 this is from a one shot where joel finds reader trying to clean up after getting injured while on patrol
Hardest of Hearts
joel miller x fem!reader, jackson era, joel tending to reader's wounds, descriptions of a head wound, concussion, and yearning with a dash of sexual tension
“Joel?” Your voice is thick with confusion. You look at him with a fuzzy expression, as if trying to decide if he's really there.
He moves quickly, taking the needle out of your hand to hold your cheek so he can inspect your temple. You managed to stitch up the cut before he arrived, but he can still see the cut is deep. Not deep enough to cause serious damage, but enough to leave the side of your face bloody.
He tries to sound annoyed, but he's sure it comes out more panicked that he intends. “Yeah, it’s me. Wanna explain why you’re painting your bathroom red?"
“Raider ambush. Nothing serious though.”
He snorts, shaking his head as he takes a scrap of gauze, wetting it with alcohol before starting to dab away the dried blood. “Nothing serious doesn’t require stitches.”
“Oh? You’re an expert now in triage — ah, son of a bitch!” You hiss when a drop of solution seeps between the stitches. You make an unsavory comment about his mother.
Despite the simmering worry, Joel lets out a bark of laughter. “Well if you think you can do better, I can always go."
He wouldn’t dream of it. Lord knows how often you’ve dealt with his cranky ass, patching him up more times than he'd like to admit. Guilt twists in his gut when you grasp his hand, whispering quietly, “Please don’t go.”
Christ, he is an asshole. He should stay away for good, but instead he keeps coming back, reopening shared wounds only to turn around and leave again.
“Hey,” He speaks quietly, voice full of gravel. He stops dabbing at the cut, resting a blood covered hand on your cheek before setting his forehead against yours as gently as possible. You're looking directly at him so he can see the pain and grim acceptance you always have when he makes himself walk away. “I’m not going anywhere, okay?”
A few small tears seep from the corners of your eyes before he feels you give a slight nod. He returns with his own nod, and guides you to sit on the toilet. There isn’t just a slur in your words, but in your entire demeanor. Eyes hazy and body swaying, Joel is a bit surprised you didn't topple over when you sit down.
He brings your hands to his middle until he feels you grip his flannel. “Hold on, okay? Don’t want you fallin' over.”
He tries to ignore the fluttering of your hands fisting his shirt as he finishes cleaning up your temple. Good, that's good he thinks as your hands keep twisting against his sides.
He thinks he has a handle on the situation, but that stops when he realizes what the next step is. You would need to be undressed and cleaned up, a chance to check for additional injuries and also just to make you feel better not to be covered in blood and grime.
Shit.
Joel has always been careful about keeping distance between you. There is already too much intimacy between the two of you without getting physical. If that final barrier is gone, he's sure he won't be able to walk away after that.
He pulls away from you abruptly, lips pulled in a thin line and the tension making his words clipped. “We uh…need to get you cleaned up.”
This is not the time to be a brooding asshole, just help her get cleaned up. She needs your help. That’s it. He tells himself a lot of things to rationalize his thoughts when he’s around you.
You blink at him owlishly before reaching an arm around to unclasp your bra and let it fall to the bathroom floor. Joel is frozen in place, trying not to stare. This is the first time he’s seen you so undressed.
It takes him a second to mentally slap himself back into action. You’re attempting to pull your jeans down, but they’re tight and the blood loss has left you weak and uncoordinated. He moves forward, resting his hands on your waist, over your fumbling hands. He can’t seem to say anything else, but you read the question in his eyes. Even with a head wound you never miss him.
Your voice is quiet as you give him a light nod. “It’s okay, Joel. It’s not exactly how I imagined this would happen, but it’s okay.”
If he hadn’t been so stunned himself he would have laughed at how your eyes widen in shock at your statement. You didn’t realize you had actually said that. To Joel fucking Miller.
What he does manage is a small smirk, “Thought about it have you, sweetheart?” Before he can stop himself, he continues, “It’s not how I would have hoped, either.”
Fuck.
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
He really hopes you don’t catch that.
