I think we don't talk enough about the simple but genius fact that the eggs are played by admins.

Like with the ccs' characters, you're almost guaranteed that their death will be a choice form the cc themself, and will give some sort of satisfying conclusion to the character's story, even if them dying is sad.

But with the eggs? Being played by people who are not there to be the stars of the show but support the ccs? Death will always be brutal and accidental and unfair. It adds actual stakes in a world full of immortal characters who can just respawn infinitely.

Suddenly, there's a more important reason as to why you're playing and grinding for good gear, beyond just enjoying the game. You can't let your kid die. They WILL die if you don't take care of them. They WILL get killed by a random monster or The Evil NPC of the week if you're not careful. And once they're gone, they're gone.

Yeah, maybe if the admin stays an admin, you'll cross paths with them as another NPC, but it'll never be the same relationship again. You'll never see your kid again.

And that's suuuuuch a good tool for storytelling.

But as of late last night, the Ivy League school now has a new blemish on its record: an eerie, cryptic set of grisly murders in the schools famed Biology Department.

Last night at around 2AM a student complained of the smell of smoke and went to investigate. What they found is enough to turn the stomach of even the most experienced of investigators.

Inside of the burned-up biology lab were the corpses of a tenured professor and his students. Each of them had been mutilated in a way that implies ritualistic torture. the urge to make your own gmod rp server and add actually fun stuff/proper moderation/progression that makes sense. Like, truly, the amount of servers that have some interesting ideas just dont properly utilize them is just...uggh

There was a Half-Life rp server i tried a while back now? it was very not good, at least to me. The Metro Cops were spawncamping the civilians for really no reason, there were MULTIPLE people swinging a pickax at streetlamps to level strength up for... something? I literally never found out cause when I asked i either got cussed at or ignored.

Oh and the OOC (Out of Character Chat) was disabled because there was any staff members on? Which in theory is like, whatever, sure ig. In practice is just, not very smart because when there isnt a turtorial for anything you just walk around doing nothing until u get bored and leave

i hate knowing that i would be so fucking good at and have so much fun with GTA RP while also being physically incapable of even trying it out.

#krav talks #god is keeping me from doing GTA RP bcus they know it would completely take over my life and all i would do every single day is GTA RP #just watching it scratches an itch in my brain i can only imagine what actively participating would feel like #i just hope that when im finally physically capable of it its not like. completely dead and gone.#and also i mean. i could just. make a mute character. thats the main problem #but also that would limit my RP abilities so much #even tho i can type super fast typing does make me overthink myself #vs just talking in improv forces me to come up with something quickly and flows better #the one thing that ive always hated about RPG-types like fallout or sims or the like is that after the first playthru it gets sooo boring #bcus everything becomes so predictable #and mmos ive never liked bcus its so strange and uncomfortable to just see all these ppl around but have no immersive way to interact #but GTA RP and especially nopixel is like. EXACTLY what ive been looking for my whole life #i was obsessed with darkrp gmod servers as a youngin and loved the mix of practical mechanics with roleplaying #ive never been able to do tabletop rpgs bcus of my struggle with audio processing #and ttrpgs are literally 90% listening to someone explain whats happening #vs. roleplaying in multiplayer video games which just let me SEE whats goin on so i'd just have to ask ppl to repeat what they said #rather than asking a game master to repeat what they just said but theyve spent the past 5 minutes explaining the situation in detail
