Someone asked what everyone’s magic abilities are and i can’t find the original ask so i’m answering here!
Sorry for the delay! Here are the abilities that have shown up in the fantasy fics so far!
Raph has his projection powers from the show, but he also had dreamwalkin abilities. He’s also proficien in protective spells like shields and has his usual tonfa powers only now they’re channeled in brass knuckles
Leo was born with two gifts, One is his illusionary magic and Second is his healing abilites but he’s considered to be a magical genius. He mostly uses his illusionary magic. He also uses a rapier
Mikey has empathy powers and abilities that allow him to sense the emotions of others. Because of that he can ‘talk’ to animals and has fire manipulation. He has a grapple and a crossbow as weapons but tries to do as little harm as possible
Donnie isn’t very good at magic or control over his levitation powers so he depends alot on his physical abiiites and enchanted items. He uses a hooked staff as a weapon.

I initially made this for a Halloween contest but i felt the need to branch it on other platforms, I've been meaning to draw fanart of this au for quite a while because i thought the concept of it was sick (even tho iblis lagged through most of the process, it was a pain) i still had fun drawing it!

Yeah people need to tell difference between what’s an AU and what isn’t.
Speaking of which, do you have a fave type of AU trope? Coffee shop, High school, Apocalypse, stuff like that.

I actually am not a big fan of AUs in general. I did join in a bit with creating a story for the @rottmntfantasyau , and that was fun haha! Most of the time, I just feel that if one is going to create a whole different type of universe, why not fill it with their own characters and concepts? But that's just me.
There aren't any specific AUs that I gravitate to. I stay away from most anything romantic oriented (so I think that discounts most Coffee Shop AUs). I'm also not a fan of most apocalypse stories, however, since I find them a bit too dark and brooding for my taste. I need hope and comfort and happiness in there, and too often those run into grimdark territory (same goes for general media involving apocalypse scenarios).
In general, I don't tend to read AU stories, but I LOVE seeing character designs and art for AUs. I think folks get really creative with the style of it all, and it's fun to see canon characters in different outfits and settings and such. High School designs, Fantasy designs, Sci-fi, Steampunk, Species Swaps, etc. - all are fun to look at and think about in a what-if kind of scenario! But none I'd usually put the effort into seeking out to read or write except for specific circumstances (essentially they would have to fit my kind of writing tastes exactly, and I'm rather picky)
It's somewhat in it's own category, but there is one kind of "AU" that I do tend to like and that is original incarnations of the canon media - series rewrites, fan-made reboots, original versions of canon characters/plot etc. Again, I'm rather picky about these, but there are A LOT of fan-made original incarnations of TMNT that I enjoy, and I'm even making one of my own. So I suppose if anything, that's my favorite kind of AU!

FanFic Recs: Charmy ED
Hey guys! I got some quick recs to give~
SO! my friend @undercoverwizardfanfiction is a really talented fic writer and I really suggest you go read some of their fics! They post both on tumblr and ao3 but I’ll be sharing stuff from ao3 for now. A few of my favs are:
The first I’ll be recommending is: Twilight Thief - the fic that got me interested in the fantasy au
- The Thief and The Orphan - continuation of the fantasy au story line, this is a flashback to when Donnie was a baby and his adoptive father, Leonard.
- Shattered - the first fic of theirs I ever read with one of my fav headcanons of Donnie being autistic and the struggles around that (also anxious leo)
- The Prince of Lies - sequel to Twilight Thief
And the last one for this list of my favs of their work would have to be, Weighted Blanket - A fic written for me by Charmy using my habit of falling asleep quickly with a weighted blanket as inspo XD
I love all of their writing and highly recommend reading all of it. Leave comments if you want, they deserve them. I feel like people have been sitting on these gems and not even noticing them so I wanted to put a spotlight on all of them.

Title: Red Family: a ROTTMNT FANTASY AU FIC
It’s a day late but Happy Birthday to my favorite @jadethest0ne
Summary: Red Fox finally concinces Jupiter Jame to visit a orphanage as a act of good will. But who she meets will change the path of not only her destiny, but of the child she meets
Word Count: 1133
Characters: Red Fox, Raph and Jupiter James
Rating: G
Pairing: [looks up from book] so I’m guessing you DIDNT go to therapy
“Jupiter James a-HOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!” comes the loud battle-cry as James kicks open the unlatched door to the orphanage hunched down with his hands in a fighting stance. The children inside immediately stand up and begin to cheer loudly, already crowding around the famed hero. It had taken more than a little bit of persuasion for Red Fox to convince James of come visit the orphanage (more than it would have taken probably a decent person) but she understood that her adoptive father was busy and didn’t like having his schedule filled the to the brim every day. But, as she ducked quietly into the orphanage after him, unnoticed by the screaming kids, she can’t help but smile at their excitement. James is already dubbing them all ‘deputy heroes’ and hoisting several kids to sit on his biceps at a time.
She finally notices a caretaker trying to get her attention and starts waddling through kids to get to her. “Hey Yolie,” she says with a smile, “I’m sorry it took so long for us to get here.”
“Don’t worry about it it was well worth it.” The old caretaker smiles at the rowdy kids all scrambling for Captain James’ attention. “It’s not often the kids get this excited about anything anymore. Ever since the Queen increased taxes on nonprofit organizations, we haven’t been able to afford as much entertainment.”
“I’m sure the Queen had her reasons.” Red Fox nods sadly, that’s what James would say, who often bragged long about how he met the Queen personally. If he supported her then she had to, as well. “We’ll be sure to leave a donation before we leave.”
Yolie lets out a soft sigh of relief, “That would greatly appreciated. It might help cover the repairs from-“ There’s a loud sound of cracking wood and the old fox lets out an almost distressed sigh, “Oh no not again!!” before hiking up her skirt and hurrying back down the hall. Red Fox glances to make sure that James will be alright without her before hurrying after. She’s surprised to see Yolie duck into the room designated for toddlers. “No not again! Please Raphie you can’t be doing this!!!!! Not again!!”
Red Fox enters the room half expecting to see a ten foot tall monster terrorizing the children. But after glancing around the room for a moment her eyes finally fall on the aggressor who is locked in a tug of war match with the hapless caretaker. Yolie was desperately trying to pull a bar of wood out of the child’s teeth who was braced on all fours like a dog. If it wasn’t for the fact the child was giggling loudly Red Fox would have thought it was malicious. But even after Yolie finally frees the bar from his teeth, the child laughs and sits down.
He’s almost big enough to be mistaken for a five year old, but there's an undoubtedly blank look in his happy green eyes that tells Red he’s no older than two. She wonders why he’s in a bed instead of a crib when she realizes it had been a crib and that the snapping turtle had simply chewed through the bars. And was seemingly proud of himself, judging by his loud giggles and big goofy smile. When Red enters the room, the child looks to her and seems to smile even bigger, if that’s even possible, and she can't’ help but return it. “Is this your menace?” she says in a teasing tone as she tickles the toddler under his chin.
“His name is Raphael, he’s one of our newer children. A ranger dropped him off a few months ago.” Yolie sighs, putting her hand over face, “He’s a sweet boy but he doesn’t know his own strength. And frankly we’re running out of cribs to keep him in.”
“How strong can he-” Red’s question was answered when Raphael suddenly wrapped his arms around her hand, hugging it with surprising strength that makes her jump in alarm. She has to fight her own self-preservation to keep from ripping her hand away. But she’s grateful she doesn’t when the toddler nuzzles his cheek over her hand, as though enjoying the feeling of her fur on his cheek. “He doesn’t seem so bad.”
“He’s not but we’re not equipped to manage a Yokai like him.” Yolie sighs, ”I’ll be honest, I’ve grown rather fond of him, but my superior thinks it might be better to send him to another orphanage more… adept at taking care of destructive Yokai.”
Red Fox can’t help the shiver that escapes her. While most orphanages weren’t as inhospitable as musicals lead people to believe, she had heard of the orphanages for ‘special challenges’. She had never been to one herself, thankfully as a fuzzy cute orphan she hadn’t been seen as a danger to anyone else. But she had seen the kind of people those orphanages had turned out. Most of them ended up as the very criminals that she hunted down. She tried not to imagine this sweet child on the receiving end of a merciless bounty hunter.
She couldn’t.
“Maybe I can talk to James.” She speaks before she realizes what shes doing and has to blink to help center herself. Rephrasing, ”We’ve been talking about recruiting more children into our guild. He’s a little young, but I think he might be a good fit.” The young snapping turtle looks up at her with a head tilt in confusion.
“I-Um.” Yolie starts uncertainly, “Are you sure? He’s a handful.”
Honestly, this wasn’t a decision she wanted to make herself. She was barely old enough to hold a bounty hunting license. But as the young child chirps at her in question, she knows she’s made up her mind. “Yes,” she decides. ”I’m sure.”
Yolie looks to the child with a sad fondness before sighing. “Alright, you’d be doing me and him a favor. I’ll let the Headmistress know of your decision,” she says before turning and walking out of the room. Red Fox looks back to the little big boy. “Alright big guy,” she says softly, heaving the boy into her arms where he immediately reaches for her ears. He’s definitely heavier than he looks. “Don’t make me regret this alright?” she says, not in a cruel way, but in a sincere way that only wants what's best for the boy. The snapping turtle smiles at her again, before leaning forward and tapping his beak against her nose. She can't’ help the weak laugh that escapes her as she rubs her nose. “Raphael huh?I think that’s a good name for you,” she says carrying him off. Neither of them would understand the repercussions of Red Fox’s kindness for years to come.
But for now?
Things are good.

Welp. Charmy did it again, folks. The prologue to Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night (which you can read here!) slaps in all the best ways. Seriously it- Argh, I don’t want to spoil any of it. Aside from, you know, *looks at own art*. Let’s just say that the sentences, like characters they portray, are constantly one-upping in pretty brat-ness, cool aloof bad boy-ness and over all paragon/gremlin duo good boy-ness and leave it at that.
The point here is that @undercoverwizardfanfiction ‘s a good writer you guys go read her stuff.

I don’t like this paper and this is pretty rough but I was itching to try my hand at the Fantasy AU Kids! AU made/ran by @rottmntfantasyau and @undercoverwizardfanfiction 👏🏻 definitely read the fics on AO3 I’m literally obsessed lately (even though I could be considered super late to the party lol)!
I want to clean this up (Leo came out pretty rough) and add the other two so we can have the whole squad together!

ROTTMNT Fantasy AU: The Messenger, The Hunter, The Prince, and The Thief - Mikey and Raph’s story

So @tiramisu-art created this Fantasy AU idea that takes place in a magical world. The the turtle bros are separated at birth and raised by different people.
The Messenger, Mikey - Raised by Toddrick the Druid. A courier. Has empathic abilities.
The Hunter, Raph - Raised by James Jupiter. A bounty hunter. Has dreamwalking abilities.
The Prince, Leo - A “ward” of Big Mama. Prissy rich boy. Has illusory and healing abilities.
The Thief, Donnie - Raised by the Mud Dogz with Leonard as a father figure. Thieves with honor. Has levitation abilities.
For this AU several artist and writers have gotten together and created some great stuff! But we were lacking in the Mikey and Raph side of things, so I figured I’d pop in and do some story building for them. Mikey was raised mostly in a forest and among animals, so he’s pretty sheltered and naive to the world. His empathic abilities give him insight into other’s feelings, but not their intentions. Meanwhile, Raph was given a very skewed sense of right and wrong based on the vigilante, James Jupiter’s (Jupiter Jim), teachings. JJ, being a rather narcissistic and manipulative man, also gave Raph a sense that if he made one wrong move he could become one of the very criminals and monsters that JJ fights. The two turtle boys meet up and end up learning from each other.
