Personal opinion on webtoons and vertical scroll format:

It sucks.

Not just from a personal preference standpoint but also from a creative standpoint.

I’ve seen many creators who work on webtoons originals comment on how they miss doing regular comic page formatting and I honestly think the vertical scroll CAN be used creatively… artists just don’t have the time to do it.

They expect 70+ panels every update (which is ridiculous btw, at most 1 standard page comic would have 10 panels at most to give you an idea, so basically webtoons is asking for 7+ pages per update which is insane) which can be stressful but they also expect you to somehow do that many panels in a week!

When I see people complain about the background art in some of these comics I IMMEDIATELY come to their defense because would YOU honestly be able to draw over 70+ backgrounds in that time? The story is more important at that point! So I really don’t care.

Not to mention that workload is KILLER on an artists drive, motivation, and overall health (mental and physical) I don’t see how any of that is okay.

Regular comic artists who don’t use the webtoons format have expressed their own problems with all these issues and they make a single page a week!

Unfortunately, the draw back from doing a regular page a week means less exposure to an audience so there is a draw back but this consumer mentality when it comes to comics is disheartening.

Idk what or where I will be posting my comics in the future (maybe tapas? They allow regular page formats I think) but I don’t intend to bend to the webtoons gods will on this matter either if it means I can finish a story reasonably with my squirrel brain.

Cassmire: The Loyal Sword

Overall Rank: 9/10

This Manhwa is one of my personal favorites, with a story about Cassmire, the lead, risking her life becoming a mercenary to get the medicine her younger sister, Aria, needs to live. Through an accident where she hit her head Cassmire she regains memories of her past life and a story where her sister is the lead character. Though she used to be the villainess in the og story she sticks with her sister and will do anything to help her. Past this point I will be talking about spoilers and specifics of the story so you are warned.

From here I will be breaking down the story in 3 main categorizes and just talking about things I really want to touch on overall.

Firstly the art: 10/10: I dont care that some of the costume choices are interesting, I've heard a lot of people complain about BDSM wear but it honestly isnt that bad. No, the reason this gets a 10/10 is Cassmires design, like she has muscles are scars and looks hot as fuck like look at her.

I am gay and love muscle women and it is very lacking in this genre so it is really good to see. And she is also very cute on top of it. But overall the art is good to look at and has amazing character design for all of the cast as well.

Story 8/10: This one is hard to quantify as we still haven't really gotten into the meat of the story. There some talk about things that happen later in the story like how in the og story Aria saves the world we haven't gotten into anything that bad yet. Though that might make it seem slow it really isn't, the story has more been focused on character moments and while things go off the rails it doesn't seem to be world ending yet. I have quite enjoyed the most recent aspects of the story, it is good to see both the main characters flaws and her strength all in the couple chapters.

Characters 8/10: This was the hardest one for me to choose a rating for as I love Cassmire she is one of my favorite protags, she has so many good moments and has and sticks to her morals to help people. My only issue is how they weaken her by making her overly reliant on her aura but even that makes sense. And her relationship with her family is just so good to see. I love how ruthless her sister is in defending her and how her brother cares about her and how they fight like real siblings. And how her dad cares about all his kids in his own way and just wants to support and help her and it just so sweet and they all care about each other so much and that's the shit I love to see I love a good family dynamic. The reason this is an 8/10 and not a 10/10 is because of all the ml's. They are all kinda mid it is just the same troupe over and over again and I get it shes kind she saves people but 4 dudes and they are all the ml's from the og story. And I dislike all the hair color changes it doesn't make sense also they are boring. Also none of the leads have good chemistry with Cassmire, they are all cowards who won't talk to her about what they are feeling. I hate them all have open secrets and not talk with each other, but this is a me thing I know I have seen people like these ml she doesn't really seem to have chemistry with any of them. This story would get a 10/10 if she ends up with no one and just lives happily with her family but it probably just me who thanks this.

With all these combined this overall story is a 9/10, a beautiful story with an amazing main character and her family but the weak ml's stop this story from being a true 10/10. Thank you for reading my unedited review have a great day.

hi hi tumblr! it's officially been a year of jinkookspencil and this blog! 1 year of writing and sharing my own bts fanfics! and actually, a little over a year of reading fanfics as well! i'm also getting close to a follower milestone which is insane, it's already more followers than i've had on tumblr during its prime!

it's an absolutely insane, unbelievable thing to say. i truly never thought if i'd make it this far or if i'd keep it up.

i wanted to prepare a fic or a headcanon post for today, to celebrate, but i ended up having an absolutely horrible night, crying for hours and just needing the comfort of reading other fics. i know my writing speed isn't the fastest, but despite everything and all the self-hatred emotions i'm feeling tonight, i will say that i'm at least proud of myself for keeping it up, but also for ever starting in the first place.

as i mentioned in my now one-year-old introductory post, i've always wanted to write fiction and it was so daunting to take the leap into (fan)fiction and every tiny ounce of support means the world. writing these fics has become another helpful outlet for me - i hope my fics helped you in some way and i hope you continue to read/like my work. i know i have a long way to go and improve, and I hope to!

still, the fact that people have read, liked, reblogged, and recommended the things i've written... it truly makes me emotional. i don't know if i would've kept it up if it weren't for the amazing community on here. thank you thank you thank you tumblr, thank you ARMY 💜

the "all customer service people are trained by management to be illiterate apes you can never get any resolutions by design dont be mean about it" crowd would faint to know there is a guy at my bank RIGHT NOW attempting to resolve an issue that would normally take a week

see. i tried to order food (having nothing of note in the house, and too much pain currently to get down 3 flights of stairs about it) and the payment failed on just eat's end.

but it went through fine on my bank's end, so the funds are tied up in "pending"... for a week. my available balance is now 95p so i can't just do it again

the bank cannot typically do anything about this until the normal time frame for collection passes and they funds just release automatically. just eat have zero contactable customer service

but it is for FOOD and there's no more MONEY and i am a DISABLED CUSTOMER so BY FUCKING GOD not on zeeshan's watch

So!! my thoughts: i was in love with the visuals and the music and the animation and just. all of it! I saw some people say though that it felt quick? And i think i agree with that. It was a fantastic cinematic movie, but the scenes moved by so quick that it felt like they barely got a chance to talk sometimes. Which is definitely different because the band sitting around talking about nothing is 80% of the show, but i didnt mind it a whole lot. I might do a second rewatch so i can take notes of my thoughts on everything and condense it?? idk i like talking

Hey y’all this is the first time I’m doing something like this but I am live blogging my reaction to ‘The Archduke’s Gorgeous Wedding Was a Fraud’ cause what the fuck is going on. It’s not bad it’s a very entertaining read but also like what the shit is happening. And the characters swing wildly between bland and interesting but that’s for me to talk about another day but I just had to read this with my eyes

hellooooo tumblr! is it too late to say happy new year's? it's been a bit too long since my last update/fic hasn't it? i never intended to take a break or stop posting on here, actually. i just got extremely busy working for a while and completely focused on that!! that work thing was really good for me, actually, and it's the main reason why i'm in a much better mental space at the moment. :)) anyways, a downside to that was that i didn't write at all! :(( i miss it and i definitely miss the boys... i miss them with all my heart.

i know writing and reading helps with that. so i do want to get back into fics - for me and for you - but i don't think i can actually promise anything or any consistency. i'll write/post whenever i can and whenever i feel like it.. (i have a lil holiday coming up so who knows) but i'm almost removing all pressure associated with this account, especially as i know i want to work harder in real life, and that'll give me enough pressure lmao also my brain was so focused on my real life for 2 months that i almost forgot how to daydream and come up with scenarios and stories :((

i guess that's the gist of my little update. a bittersweet one i guess? what actually made me think to post this was that i found another seokjin drabble i wrote in november but never posted/polished. it's gooooood, might just work on that tonight.. (don't count the amount of times i promised TYMI2 but went on to post a seokjin thing... the wrecker is wrecking).
