hellooooo tumblr! is it too late to say happy new year's? it's been a bit too long since my last update/fic hasn't it? i never intended to take a break or stop posting on here, actually. i just got extremely busy working for a while and completely focused on that!! that work thing was really good for me, actually, and it's the main reason why i'm in a much better mental space at the moment. :)) anyways, a downside to that was that i didn't write at all! :(( i miss it and i definitely miss the boys... i miss them with all my heart.
i know writing and reading helps with that. so i do want to get back into fics - for me and for you - but i don't think i can actually promise anything or any consistency. i'll write/post whenever i can and whenever i feel like it.. (i have a lil holiday coming up so who knows) but i'm almost removing all pressure associated with this account, especially as i know i want to work harder in real life, and that'll give me enough pressure lmao also my brain was so focused on my real life for 2 months that i almost forgot how to daydream and come up with scenarios and stories :((
i guess that's the gist of my little update. a bittersweet one i guess? what actually made me think to post this was that i found another seokjin drabble i wrote in november but never posted/polished. it's gooooood, might just work on that tonight.. (don't count the amount of times i promised TYMI2 but went on to post a seokjin thing... the wrecker is wrecking).
so, yeah! thank you if you're reading this, to anyone that has ever read anything i've written, and for the new followers and the tags while i've been away <3
i talked way too much T_T hope you're all well, lovelies? xx

MARRIAGE — jeon wonwoo x reader
Tumblr media
summary: where wonwoo’s nightmare is coming true.
notes: yours and wonwoo’s relationship isn’t the focus in this. but you guys are married and have a daughter together!
I might create a whole series where I write drabbles/one shots of seventeen as fathers. I have some ideas of what to post, however, I’ll accept requests. this one just popped into my head today and I wasn’t able to get it out UNLESS I actually wrote it. enjoy!
Tumblr media
“Daddy, when did you know you wanted to marry Mommy?” Yours and Wonwoo’s daughter asked.
Wonwoo stopped at the sound of the question, and turned to her, who was peering up at him curiously. He stopped cutting the apples she asked to make him and kneeled down at her height. “What’s the sudden question for, Love?”
Your daughter shrugged, “I’m just curious,”
“Well, since you’re asking, I knew I wanted to marry Mommy because I love her so much and I didn’t see living my life if it meant I didn’t have her in it,” Wonwoo said.
“Even if you guys become old and wrinkly?” She followed up, her nose scrunching at the thought of her parents being wrinkly.
“Especially if she’s wrinkly, because that means we’ve been loving each other for so long,” he answered, pinching his daughter’s cheek gently.
Your daughter hummed, seeming deep in thought. Her eyes then lit up and announced, “Daddy, I have to tell you something and you can’t get mad,”
Wonwoo raised his eyebrow up at her words but said, “I’ll try not to,”
“I have decided I’m gonna marry Uncle Gyu!” She exclaimed.
Wonwoo swore that right then and there he was going to drop dead in the middle of the kitchen. Who cares about growing old with you if your daughter was going to marry her Uncle Gyu. Maybe life wasn’t worth living at this point. Who cares at this point—
“Daddy? Are you okay?” your daughter asked, pouting in concern.
Wonwoo snapped out of his thinking and cleared his throat. “Why do you think you’re going to marry your Uncle Gyu, sweetheart?”
“I don’t just think I’m going to marry him. I know I’m going to marry him,” she corrected him.
“Well, why do you think that?”
“When I asked you about how you knew you wanted to marry Mommy, it’s like how I feel when I see Uncle Gyu,” she replied.
“You can’t marry your Uncle Gyu,” Wonwoo told her bluntly.
“Why not?” she asked, her eyes squinted and Wonwoo could already feel his defenses going down when he saw that there were little tears emerging from her eyes.
“First off, you still call him Uncle Gyu,” he pointed out.
“That’s because that’s his name,”
“We’re going to teach you about how names work one of these days,” Wonwoo sighed.
The sound of the door opening captured the attention of the father and daughter. “I’m home!” You exclaimed, and Wonwoo felt relief knowing that if anyone were to convince your daughter not to marry Mingyu, it’d be you.
“I’m back from the store and I ran into Mingyu! He’s here to say hi,” you added on.
Nevermind, Wonwoo thought. It seemed like you, Mingyu, and your own daughter, his flesh and blood, were out on a mission in order to send him into cardiac arrest.
Wonwoo saw as your daughter gasped in delight and ran out of the kitchen to meet you and Mingyu. He left the kitchen too, only to see that your daughter was already in Mingyu’s arms.
“What were you guys doing while I was gone?” you questioned.
“We need to talk,” Wonwoo said.
His statement raised eyebrows for both you and Mingyu. Meanwhile, your daughter was in a whole different world whilst in Mingyu’s arms. “Uh, okay, let’s go to the kitchen and Mingyu can entertain—”
“No, Mingyu’s involved too,” Wonwoo cut you off.
Exchanging looks with each other, Mingyu put your daughter on the couch and promised that he was going to play with her when he was done talking to her dad. You went to the kitchen, utterly confused on what was going on.
“You’re a traitor,” was the first thing Wonwoo said to Mingyu.
“What? What’d he do?” You asked.
“I didn’t do anything today!” Mingyu immediately defended.
Wonwoo turned to you, who he considered to be the voice of reasoning. “Guess what our daughter told me,”
“What did she say?”
“She wants to marry—“
“Aww, that’s precious! Is she at the stage where she wants to pretend—“
“She wants to marry her Uncle Gyu.”
“Oh,” was all you could say. None of the parenting books you and Wonwoo read didn’t exactly tell you how to deal with your child if they wanted to marry their dad’s best friend, so you were at a lost for words.
“You made my daughter think she’s wants to marry you! How dare you!” Wonwoo exclaimed to Mingyu, who looked lost at the direction the conversation went.
“Let’s not castrate Mingyu. Our daughter is a child, so she’s going to think she wants to marry anyone she loves, because she doesn’t know the difference between familial and romantic love. Also, it’s not like she knows what marriage means.” You reasoned with him.
Wonwoo relaxed at your words, his slight anger dissipating.
“Now, let’s go and play with her before she thinks her dad killed her soon-to-be-husband,” you joked and quickly left the kitchen.
Wonwoo and Mingyu were left in the kitchen and Wonwoo found himself looking at his best friend. “My daughter wants to marry you,” he told him.
“If I knew how I was making her want to marry me, I’d stop,” Mingyu reassured him.
“At least it wasn’t Soonyoung, I don’t want my daughter thinking she’s a tiger and marrying one,”

Could you share some of the svt recs you get too?? I need some more recs as well. (But obviously yours are amazing too!!!)
YESS, of course!!
So, I’m just gonna mix the ones that I got and some of my personal favourites: (in no specific order)
(these are only series recommendations, I can do one shots, etc. too, if you want to🤗)
WARNING: smut (for some)
Tumblr media
@meltwonu ‘s entire masterlist. And when I say entire, I truly mean ENTIRE. Writing is immaculate. I love it.
Some of my personal faves:
- caffeine (wonwoo series): who doesn’t love a good frat boy Wonwoo, right?!😫 + the sequel until I met you !!!
- thief (svt): I’m too much in love with the home run mv and every series with that theme, so this is a big MUST READ
- ch-ch-cherry bomb (scoups series): no words. Absolutely no words. Just amazing. I don’t know how to describe it. Just read it. Love it. Such good smut omg.
- pls read all of her drabbles too!! Sooo good!
Tumblr media
@wonwoonlight if you don’t know her, you’ve been living under a rock. At this point, I’m convinced everyone know her writing because it’s THAT good
personal faves:
- my daisy (Mingyu series): YOU HAVE TO KNOW THIS! YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND. HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE READ THIS.
- my way to you (Wonwoo series): just so beautiful😫 istg I’m a sucker for her writing and this is just another masterpiece
Tumblr media
@bubblebeom another pretty famous tumblr writer, I’m pretty sure. She’s another one of those angels sent from heaven with her insane talent for writing.
I can’t even put my faves together, so here is her masterlist
But when talking about series specifically, obviously:
- Heart & Seoul (Wonwoo series): too good. Every carat on this planet has to read this. Chef’s kiss.
- Getting Closer (Wonwoo, Mingyu series): if you’re a carat and have tumblr, you probably already know about this one, but I’m still gonna hype it tf up because this is one that I will also never get tired of reading)
I recently read Vanilla for the first time and Jesus Christ… went back the next day to read it again. Most definitely am going to read it a third time. And a fourth. And who knows how many times again after that. The best Joshua smut I’ve ever read on this app ngl. I actually had to put the phone down because I started blushing so hard.
AND Remind Me. Read it. Loved it. You should too
Tumblr media
@heavenshoon Days Off With SVT (SVT series)
Something cute I stumbled upon and I REALLY liked it!! Highly highly recommend!! Very excited to see more of her in the future!🥰👏🏼
Tumblr media
@marigold-sunflowers dear stupid diary (Jeonghan series)
This was recommended to me and I still have to start it, but I’m very excited!!!🤭🤗
Tumblr media
@twogyuu Terrifyingly Innocent (S.Coups series)
LISTEN. I’ve already reblogged it (and this woman actually asked me if I aren’t a “famous” tumblr writer, GIRL STOP🥹) But I will not shut up about this. I read it now three times and God… LORD… I can’t get enough of it😫😫 it’s TOO GOOD. I will never ever ever get tired of this series.
Gonna start reading all of her other stuff as well!!
Tumblr media
And then there’s this series that I, for the love of God, cannot find anymore. It’s literally making me so sad because it was one of my faves.
It played in a Home Run!AU (MY ABSOLUTE FAVE) and it was about the reader being in a relationship with one of the members and they’re on a cruise and a diamond goes missing and they’re trying to find out who stole it.
ISTG IT WAS SO GOOD AND I DON’T KNOW WHERE IT IS OR WHAT IT WAS CALLED😫😭 I think the writer deactivated their account tbh…
I remember the username being something with Minghao and their profile pic too! And they also had another AMAZING series with Wonwoo x idol!Reader… (I think they’re were the same profiles)
So good… so sad to have lost it… I’ll never forgive myself for that
Tumblr media
Here are some! I might add a few after a while or post another fic rec if anyone asks :) also: I 100% forgot some, so I’ll most definitely make another fic rec post
If anyone wants to recommend some more to me, feel free to do so!!!!🤗
Thank you for also enjoying my own series♥️🥰♥️

📣: boyfriend!Chan // cont of this // fluff // 800~ words
A/N: ok now that this is the last one, i can finally say the reason why i ended the last one that way was bc i had no idea how to proceed so this was hard to make bc i totally didnt expect to write this to this point HAHAH its okay tho! kinda felt like a challenge lol hope you enjoyed this anons thank you for the request <3
edit: i thought might as well put them here haha [part 1 // part 2 // part 3]
find the rest of requested drabble here
Tumblr media
“You guys do realize you’ve taken things too far this time, right?” you ask with a sigh. You don’t mind spending time together with them, you really don’t, but Chan seems like he was really looking forward to this date and you don’t want the day to end with him being upset. “I’m sure he’ll be snappy at you for a few days because of this.”
Soonyoung shrugs nonchalantly, looking at the turtles in the ‘Touch Me!’ area. He stops by to poke the shell softly before answering. “Shouldn’t have made us pay for your meals.
“You guys shouldn’t have followed us to begin with,” you roll your eyes in annoyance. As much as you like these guys, they can take their jokes a bit too far when it comes to their youngest. “Plus, didn’t you say Minghao ended up paying because you both literally forgot your wallet?”
“We’re bored, okay?” Seokmin pouts and then leans down a little to follow Soonyoung as he plays with the turtles. “Plus, we’re kinda curious about what kind of place Chan takes you for a date.”
“You couldn’t have asked like a normal human being?”
“Totally went pass my mind.”
You shake your head in disbelief, thinking about how upset Chan is going to be about this whole thing. “I’m gonna go to the rest room.”
Honestly, you didn’t expect for them to just nod and let you go by yourself. But at this point, you think they’re having too much fun playing with the turtles that they probably forgot they’re supposed to be ‘kidnapping’ you.
Obviously, you make the sensible choice to stray away and look for Chan. You’re just going to think about how to deal with Jeonghan later when it comes to it.
As if the universe is helping you, you catch Minghao on the corner of your eyes, busy with his camera as Jeonghan is visibly whining from behind because Chan probably walks too fast or something. Just then, your boyfriend catches your eyes somehow, and you quickly put your forefinger on your lips to signal him not to say anything before you mouth ‘toilet’ and he subtly nods before running some more that prompts Jeonghan to almost scream at the younger guy.
It hasn’t even been 5 minutes when an out-of-breath Chan appears beside you, and you quickly pull you with him to wherever your feet take you just so you can lose them.
“How did you lose Jeonghan?” you ask once you’re settled on the 2nd floor of the place, sure that it is far enough to take a break. Why did you even need to take a break from your supposed date, you have no idea.
“He went to the vending machine and Minghao’s too busy taking pictures,” he says, leaning forward to take a sip from your drink. He’s never been more glad you’re the type to bring water with you wherever you go. “I’m pretty sure he noticed but he’s too tired to follow me.”
“Did that to himself, didn’t he?” you laugh as you move to place your head on his shoulder. “Should we leave now?”
“I don’t have my phone with me, though?” he huffs in annoyance. “Jeonghan takes it, saying I’d cheat and ask you where you’re at.”
You laugh at this, they’re weirdly careful with that and yet you and Chan didn’t have to work that hard to lose them. “Then we can just go back to my place? I’d tell Wonwoo to text me if they need you to come home quick, you know he’s never really been one to prank me.”
Chan moves to take your hand in his before leaning his head back on top of yours. “I’m really sorry the date turns this way. I really wanted you to enjoy the aquarium.”
“Not your fault,” you reassure him, squeezing his hand to tell him it’s really okay. “Just all the more reason to visit another aquarium, right? We still have a long time to go. Plus, what better way to end a date then cuddling under the blanket while we order chickens, right?”
You can feel him smile against your head before he plants a firm kiss there and then letting go of you to stand up. “A woman after my heart. Let’s go back to your place?”

Bothered
Prompt: #129 for @syuperseventeen – “Please, forgive me.”
syuperseventeen said:
Hi! Could I please request #129 for the drabble game with S.Coups of SEVENTEEN? Would love a bit of angsty office!au (enemies-to-lovers, maybe?) if possible otherwise anything else you can write is fine! 😊
Pairing: Choi Seungcheol (SCoups) x reader
Genre: enemies to lovers / office au
Warnings: none
Word count: 1576
Tumblr media
You stopped mid-sentence, your gaze boring into the man at the far end of the table, your mouth falling ajar.
You couldn’t believe it. Had Choi Seungcheol just fallen asleep in the middle of your presentation?!
Blinking rapidly to regain composure, you smiled hastily, attempting to pick up with the same enthusiasm you had held this entire time. Yet, your attention drifted towards Seungcheol multiple times, causing you to stammer and sound less capable in delivering what you had been working day and night on for weeks.
You would kill him for this.
If there was one thing that was established within the office you worked at, it was that Seungcheol and you regularly butted heads. He was in charge of sales and you ran product support. You should be able to work harmoniously together to ensure the best products and deals reached the hands of your customer base.
However, there was nothing but animosity between you.
After thanking the other members of the meeting for joining you this morning, you collected your things and stalked towards the exit, slapping the back of his head with your file folder as you went by.
Seungcheol should’ve been thankful that was all you did to him right now.
It didn’t take him long to venture out of the meeting, and your current task was brewing yourself a cup of camomile tea to calm down the rage that surged throughout your body. You wouldn’t stoop to the level of screaming at him today.
No, you had done that twice already this week and wanted to attempt to show some level of professionalism for the remaining hours you had in the office today. Still, as you waited for the water to boil, you wrung your hands together, in hopes that would settle the need to wrap them around Seungcheol’s neck instead.
You didn’t need to look up to see it was him when someone entered the staff kitchen a moment later. He chuckled softly. “At least you have a strong hand on you.”
“Don’t talk to me.”
“Why, worried you might start screaming again?” he teased, smirking to himself as he reached for a clean cup to place under the coffee machine. Seungcheol then cocked his head to the side. “Nice presentation, by the way.”
You scoffed. “Like you heard it.”
“I haven’t slept that well in weeks! I ought to thank the person who helped me get some much-needed shuteye. Your voice is great for sending me off to sleep. Maybe I should record it so I can play it before bed each night.”
“I cannot believe you!” you shrilled, balling your hands up in hopes to settle yourself before you exploded. “I worked so god damn hard on that and you don’t even have the decency to just sit there.”
“But I did, I didn’t leave the meeting like last time. See, improvements.”
You were passed the point of caring, your calming tea all forgotten about now. “You owe me an apology!”
“Please, forgive me for I have sinned,” Sungcheol proclaimed dramatically, his eyes crinkling up with amusement. “Look, Y/N, it’s not something you needed to speak forty-seven minutes about. You could have just emailed the statistics to everyone instead of wasting their time.”
“Wasting time?! That’s what you do! I asked you for a predicted sale trends report a week ago. Where is it?!”
“Somewhere under the pile of actual work I need to do to keep my department running. If you needed it, you should have-”
“If it wasn’t going to end me in jail, I’d kill you.”
Seungcheol grinned, picking up his coffee. “Ooh, that sounds like fun.”
“Fun?! You’ll be the death of me!”
“Well, then, we’ll die together in that sentiment, won’t we?” he offered before clucking his tongue in farewell, grinning as he left the room.
You screamed in frustration, dumping the tea down the sink before reaching for something stronger.
There would be no way to calm your nerves now.
Tumblr media
You were amazed to last four days out of the next week without butting heads with Seungcheol. It was only two days the following week and then you felt as if you suffered daily by something he would instigate.
The problem was you bit the bait each and every time.
“Have you ever stopped to think he’s doing it on purpose?” Joshua mentioned over lunch and you looked at your manager, nodding heartily.
“Of course, he is. No one is that irritating incidentally.”
“No, I mean, with a specific reason.”
You rolled your eyes. “Seungcheol’s quest in life is to make me miserable.”
“Or something else.”
“Like what?” you wondered, blinking slowly at Joshua’s knowing look. You hissed and shook your head. “Are you kidding me?!”
“What, you’re an attractive, hard-headed woman. And Seungcheol is as competitive as they get. You spark a whole lot of banter in him.”
“And he enrages me with pure contempt.”
“Y/N, take a moment to lessen the annoyance and look beneath the surface. You do it too. You wouldn’t speak to Wonwoo in Logistics like you do Seungcheol.”
You agreed. “Because he’s not an asshole!”
“No, because he hasn’t risen your blood pressure above anything amicable. Yet you have a crush on him. Why?”
“Have you seen the guy, he’s gorgeous!”
Joshua shrugged. “And Seungcheol?”
You stopped, allowing yourself to contemplate for a moment over your arch-nemesis’ appearance. He looked strong, as if he worked out regularly. When he smiled at another co-worker, you had once noticed his dimples and found yourself thinking about them for the rest of the day. In fact, when you started here, you had found your eyes travelling towards Seungcheol quite a lot.
You cursed inwardly, even if he was an asshole, he was an attractive one.
It didn’t matter if he was sculpted by the Gods himself, however. There was no way you’d find him someone you’d want to lock lips with now. He infuriated you relentlessly.
You couldn’t allow someone that toxic into your life.
Except, was he really toxic? If you were truly that offended by him, wouldn’t you simply avoid him at all costs?
You blinked out of your unsteady thoughts when you heard Joshua laugh. “Like I said, Y/N, don’t you think there’s more between you both?”
Tumblr media
It bothered you to no end. Joshua’s words played over in your head for the rest of the day and by the time you had finally managed to wrap up your tasks for the day, most of the other workers had left.
Groaning loudly at the thought of having dinner even later now, you collected your belongings and stood up, tugging on your coat. When you went to step off, you realised someone was still in the office with you. Seungcheol smirked. “Do you always zone out and think you’re the only one around? Imagine if your sweet Wonwoo heard you groan like that.”
“Must you bother me now?” you grumbled, though with your increasing heartbeat, you began to feel flustered. You closed your eyes in hopes to ease the experience but when you reopened them, Seungcheol was even closer.
You inwardly began to curse out Joshua and his impractical help.
“Why not, you seem to enjoy it.”
“Do I?”
“Well, don’t you?” he asked as you both headed towards the elevator. You looked at him stopping beside you and swiftly turned to the stairwell entrance, hoping if you took the three flights of stairs you could justify the reason for your heart beating this rapidly.
What you didn’t expect was for Seungcheol to follow you. “I didn’t take you one for exercise, Y/N.”
“What did you take me for then?” you huffed, wishing you hadn’t worn your highest pair of heels today. You gasped when the man passed you and then blocked the path forward, teetering in your heels as you cursed out loud.
He smirked. “I’m hearing it all today, huh?”
“Would you just stop bothering me?” you pleaded and Seungcheol’s brows furrowed together. “All day you’ve been bothering me and I’m just tired of it all.”
“I’ve spoken to you less today than all week, do you really hate me that much?”
“Yes,” you immediately answered and then sighed. “No. No, but I need-”
“Need what?”
Sizing him up, you threw your arms around his neck and pressed your lips to his. It was instantaneous, the way his mouth caressed yours and his arms wound around you, pulling you closer to him. You sighed into the kiss and that allowed Seungcheol the opportunity to deepen it, the pair of you turning toward the wall for leverage. You didn’t even care that the railing was pressing into your back, too focused on the way Seungcheol was stealing your breath away.
Gasping for air, you separated, staring at one another as you caught your breaths. Seungcheol smiled warmly. “You needed that?”
“More than I realised,” you admitted and he chuckled.
“Maybe you hated that you hadn’t taken a taste yet. You only ever bite so far with my attempts.”
You gaped at him. “You mean…”
“Why else would I make our office life so interesting, Y/N?”
“You better not stop being an asshole just because I kissed you just now,” you instructed and Seungcheol smirked. The emphasis on his swollen lips made you groan and reach for another kiss.
When you pulled away, he nodded softly. “Who knows, maybe I’ll find new ways to rile you up.”

“Wonwoo…”
You are trying so hard to keep your voice mild and level, for a single drop of emotion would send you crashing into desolation. You thought your eyes had been playing tricks on you at first, he hadn’t intended for you to find it out at all, but the sight of the mark on his skin was unmistakable. The man stares back at you, his eyes glittering with guilt as his hand clutches the back of his neck.
A dry swallow. “Please, just show it to me.”
He whispers your name, broken and defeated. But you don’t take back your words, steeling yourself for what’s to come. Finally, he sighs, lowering his hand to reveal his nape to you.
And there it was, the bright silver strip etched across his neck. It shines at you almost mockingly, and you slowly draw in a shaky breath, letting the sight of it sink in. “When?”
It was a question without any context, but Wonwoo knows clearly what you are asking about. He dips his head, unable to meet your eyes. “Two days ago, on a subway. We brushed shoulders by accident and it just… happened.”
You nod solemnly. “And? Did you go after them?”
His face contorts, eyebrows furrowing in a moment of confusion. “No, why should I?”
Did you really have to spell it out for him? Or is he still trying to avoid what’s already painfully obvious? You reach out, placing your hand on the groove between his neck and shoulder, prompting him to look at you once more. “Wonwoo, they’re your soulmate.”
“And you’re my girlfriend.” His response was curt, as though his one statement quells all of the issues at hand. “Gaining my mark doesn’t matter to me, it shouldn’t matter to us, at all… You know I stopped believing in soulmates a long time ago.”
He was sincere, you know that, and you’re compelled to believe him. But that’s just not how your society is programmed to work.
“If what you said was true… why did you even bother hiding your mark from me, then?”
“It’s because I didn’t want to hurt you… I thought we’d be better off pretending it never happened,” he admits. “I’m sorry, I should have been honest with you.” He curls your hair behind your shoulder, revealing your own mark on your neck. While his shone in brilliant silver, your mark was as black as night, except that it will never see the light of day, ever.
You were just twelve when it happened. You were coming home from school when a searing pain erupts along the back of your neck, causing you to stop and grab it in agony. Your friends were beside themselves with excitement, believing that you’ve chanced upon your soulmate, and darted around like excited meerkats looking for them. But you knew something was wrong.
Gaining a silver mark has always been described as just a rush of electricity-like adrenaline coursing through all your veins, and that your “blood starts singing with longing”, or something equally pretentious-sounding. The pain you had been feeling was akin to being stabbed by a flaming branding iron, leaving a burn that will scar you for life.
And when your friends point out that your mark was jet black instead of the conventional silver, your suspicions were confirmed. Your soulmate has died.
Your mother had burst into tears when you’ve informed her of this tragedy, pulling you into her bosom as she comforts you, and for some odd reason, you had cried too, hard. You didn’t know why you did, it just seemed like the only thing you were able to do at that point. Yet no amount of your tears seemed to alleviate the turmoil you are going through. You never thought the death of someone you’ve never seen in person would cause such grief, it was a lot more than what your young body could withstand.
Your soulmate had died before you even met them, and left you to spend the rest of your life alone.
Or that was what you believe your life was subjected to, until Wonwoo came in, a best friend of yours from early childhood. Unlike your other wide-eyed, innocent peers that had practically drank up the whole soulmate ordeal, Wonwoo had always been skeptical, and he never wanted his life to be dictated by a simple mark on his neck. Your soulmate’s death was what convinced Wonwoo to completely abandon the idea of having just one fixed partner for life, much less having them decided for you from the get-go.
He had swooped in to free you of your mourning, showering you with words of comfort, and essentially brought you out of that dark period of your life. Granted, you were both twelve at that time, and his care for you was mainly fraternal, much like a brother caring for his hurt sibling. But as time went on and you both grew older, you noticed that your mutual affection had blossomed beyond that, and you find yourself looking forward to his company more and more.
He had went against the societal norms when he confessed his romantic feelings towards you a couple of years ago, and was surprised to find out that you reciprocated them. You yourself had no idea that you were able to develop such strong passionate emotions towards someone other than your soulmate. You wondered if it was wrong, but Wonwoo had quickly dissipated all doubts in your mind with a happy kiss, marking the start of your relationship.
Wonwoo was nothing short of sweet and sensitive, always looking out for you, always there to tend to your every need. Your relationship hadn’t gone off without a hitch, however, the aftermath of losing a soulmate lingering deep within your subconscious; there were times when you’ve woken up in cold sweat and tears, having re-lived the pain of losing them. At those times, Wonwoo was a quick phone call away, soothing you with his calm, husky voice assuring you that he’ll be there with you always.
Oh, you had been a fool to believe him back then. You should have known that your time together with Wonwoo could be cut off in a moment’s notice. While you had lost your soulmate forever, Wonwoo has never experienced anything to do with his. All it takes is the tiniest form of contact with a total stranger for everything the both of you have meticulously built to utterly fall apart.
And of course, that day has come. Your boyfriend may not believe it to be so, but you knew that you’ve already lost him forever. You wonder how long it would take for Wonwoo’s bravado to succumb to the sheer power of the destiny predetermined for him.
That night, Wonwoo took you into his arms and showed you just how much he loved you, how much you mean to him. With every kiss on your bare skin came a whisper of sweet nothings. Wonwoo was so passionate. His touch was so gentle and loving yet… you could feel in his every action some undertones of desperation, powering him, and you’ve experienced the strength you never knew he had in the two years you’ve spent in a relationship with him.
It was as though he was trying to reassure himself that nothing has changed. You knew that he wanted you to forget. He wanted you to know that he will never leave you, even for his soulmate. But it seems like he was having trouble even convincing himself.
You teared up at that realisation, feeling his lips travel down your nape. You want to lose yourself in his fervorous eyes and get drunk on his lips as they danced across your body. You could let yourself be ignorant and continue letting the both of you live this lie.
This man meant the world to you. All you wanted to do was to love him as hard as he was loving you right there and then. That night, you were so scared, but you decide to seize every last moment you can have with him. That night, you made love to each other.
He fell into deep slumber afterwards, leaving you alone with your thoughts. You wanted to let go and feel the same way you did before. Even in the darkness of the room, you can still see the glow from the strip of silver skin brandishing his neck, glaring at you. You hate to admit that it sickens you deep to the core, knowing that someone else is bearing the same silver mark, and knowing that they should be in your place instead.
Everything is wrong.
When you see him hunched over the bed, his face buried in his hands a few days later, you already expect the worst. Still, you find yourself slipping to the seat next to him, offering your comfort, just like what he had done for you when you were both twelve. You wrap your arms over his broad shoulders, leaning against his frame, shocked by the sheer force of the sobs silently but violently wracking through his body.
“I met him again,” is the only thing he stutters out, his voice shattered to pieces.
You know that you had absolutely no right to feel the harsh stab through your heart, so you suppress with all your might the tears stinging in your eyes and the bile rising up your throat. You knew that it was inevitable for Wonwoo to see his soulmate again. You had already mentally prepared yourself for this moment.
“And?” you prompt him as gently as you can, rubbing soothing circles between his shoulders.
Soulmate or not, boyfriend or not, Wonwoo is still someone precious to you. Seeing him this broken sends your heart through a wringer, and you want to stand by him and support him. But you didn’t expect his next statement to hurt so much.
“We kissed. I kissed him.”
And that was it. Even though you promised yourself to tough it out, your hand instinctively withdraws back to your side, as though burnt. Wonwoo almost whines at the loss of your touch, lifting his head to meet your eyes with his bloodshot ones.
“I didn’t want this.” And you know he meant it. He had never intended for this to happen to the both of you, never intended to hurt you in any way. He would have never cheated on you. It is just a cruel game of fate that had been hardwired into your society for generations.
And by staying with him, you’re prolonging the pain you’re both experiencing. Wonwoo is destined to live out his own happily ever after with another person, while you are supposed to spend the rest of your life alone without a soulmate to call your own. That is the way things should have been from the day your mark turned black.
You should not have fought against it. You should not have gambled with fire.
You cried in each other’s arms, completely at loss of what to do at that point of time. Neither of you spoke a word, but you both knew that this was the last night you can spend together.
Come morning, you make the decision for the both of you.
Packing up every single one of your belongings, making sure to leave none behind, you slip your way out of the bedroom. You’ll disappear from Wonwoo’s life. You know that it was the best for the both of you.
But you can’t help but steal one last glance at the man you never thought you could love, still fast asleep, his arm outstretched into the side of the bed that had once accommodated you. He seems so lonely now, his curled-up figure so small against the mattress. The selfish side of you wants nothing more than to lie down next to him again, but you know that one day, that empty spot in the bedroom will be filled once more.
So you silently wish him well, and maybe it was just your imagination, but Wonwoo’s sleeping face looks more serene and at peace at your final resolution. Perhaps he’s wishing the same for you as well.
A last glance with a bittersweet smile, and you’re out of the apartment, for you are afraid that lingering anywhere longer than necessary would send you crumbling with regret. You bid a fond farewell as your eyes scan across the house once more, before closing the door to your relationship for good.
“Goodbye, Wonwoo.”

“You’re mine.”
His heart was beating fast and his chest felt all kinds of feelings; he was overwhelmed with what he heard just few days ago. He sulked his head for a few minutes in his locker, thinking of that one sentence. That one sentence felt like his world crumbled until now. His friends found him overreacting but they knew it was natural for him to be protective of his girlfriend.
It was still on his mind though.
|| “I’ll be busy throughout the week next week, but you don’t have to worry too much.” you pecked his cheek.||
He stood behind a wall column as if he was hiding from someone. His best buds soon came along, they saw the boy looking elsewhere.
“What’re you doing?” Seungcheol crept up to the boy and stood behind him.
“Oh-“ he flinched and turned around. “Nothing.” Seungcheol and Joshua were not convinced and took a glance to the area where Jeonghan was looking at earlier.
“You’re still stalking y/n?” Seungcheol asked, grinning at his friend, knowing his motives.
“Didn’t y/n tell you to trust her?” Joshua told the blonde haired boy.
“I know. It’s just.. it’s been bugging me for the past few days.” Jeonghan sighed.
“It’s only a group project.” they reassured him.
“A group project that has too much physical contact!” Jeonghan gestured his hands in the air.
“It’s a dance project. A partner is needed, she has no choice right?” they reassured him again.
“She could’ve chose me!” he hissed. “You know she can’t. You’re in different majors.” Joshua knuckled Jeonghan’s chest.
Seungcheol and Joshua laughed at the their affected friend. They found him funny because he acted like a child. What much more could he get every time he saw you with Taeyong? Of course he couldn’t help but feel jealous. He didn’t want to feel that way, but the boy you were with just had to appear whenever he had to see you.
As you finished your conversation with Taeyong, you spotted Jeonghan squatted by the columned wall. Again you knew he was following you. My Hannie is being jealous again. Cute.
“Babe!” you smiled and waved at him as he looked at you going towards him. “Are you worried again?”
“No no no. Not at all. Just waiting for you finish up.” he wrapped his arms around your shoulders. “C’mon let’s get you home.”
———
Jeonghan prepared you a meal while you rest on your bed. As it is, he was used to your apartment because he’d been there most of the time. He heard you giggling in the room, thinking that you were probably chatting with Gayoung. He waited for another five minutes for the meal to be served. By the time he went to your room, you were already asleep.
“I cooked you food, y/n.” he nudged you but you didn’t wake up. He set the plate onto the desk, fixing you in bed. When he covered you with a blanket, your phone fell. It’s unlocked.
He wasn’t the type to check on one’s phone, but he was worried you might be talking with a guy. Thank goodness it was Gayoung. He read the conversation you had with her.
Y/N: He has the right to be upset but I just hope he’d understand that I wasn’t trying to hurt him. >///<
Gayoung: Ah give him time. It’s normal for him to be protective of you. You’re with a guy for a project after all. :)
Y/N: I know, but I can’t stand seeing him all worked up because of me. :o
Gayoung: Hahaha, just like how he can’t stand seeing you with Taeyong. Anyway, don’t worry about it. It’ll all go well. :D
Jeonghan breathed heavily, yet it was a sigh of understanding. He realized how immature he was. He sat right beside you, caressing your cheeks and putting your hair strands away from your face.
You woke up with the touch of cold hands. Your eyes squinted from the sunlight outside even though it was 5 in the afternoon. “Jeonghan?”
“You’re awake. Let’s eat?” he pointed the two plates that were on the study table.
As you both munched on the fried chicken wings and spicy soup, you heard Jeonghan, he gave out a burp of satisfaction.
“Someone’s happy.” you pointed his smile with your chopsticks. “Because I’m with you.” he scrunched his nose.
“Haha. Since when were you this cheesy?” you teased.
“Since I cooked this egg and corn with melted cheese.” he took a bite.
“Not funny.” You giggled.
Silence filled the room and you felt him stare at you. His chocolate brown eyes pierced yours and blood started to flow to your cheeks.
“You’re mine.” he slightly smiled, with eyes of admiration and love.
You tried to say something but no words came out of your lips, and you only pursed them; embarrassed with your boyfriend’s sudden talk.
“Were you so flustered you forgot to make your own words?” he held your hand in his.
“N-no..” you murmured. You covered half of your face as you rested your arm on the table.
“Don’t cover your face. You’re ruining my sight.” he smirked and laughed at your reaction.
“Yoon Jeonghan do you want to die?!”

The last thing Chan remembered hearing was you telling him that you wanted a break from your relationship, simply because ‘he was too young’.
Chan had never once thought of himself as being too young for a serious relationship. Well, he may just be a mere 18 years of age, but he was certain his maturity and behaviour was that of a 21 year old. He was independent, confident, trustworthy.
But yet he was too young to be in a relationship with you?
He couldn’t understand the reason for the ‘break’ no matter how hard he thought, but seeing as how you insisted a break would benefit the two of you and that you could always get back together when he was ready, he decided to go with it.
“Stay positive Chan, I’m sure (y/n) means well.” He whispered to himself.
Chan had just finished choreographing a new dance for his class, and he couldn't wait to show it to his friends tomorrow. But of course, he’d always showed it to you first. Grabbing his phone beside, he got ready to drop you a message.
But he hesitated.
Will you be willing to hear what he accomplished? Your relationship was on a break, but not your friendship right?
He saw no harm in trying anyway, getting a reply from you would make him happy, and even if you didn't reply, well-
(y/n) will definitely reply. He thought.
“Hey (y/n)! I just finished choreographing a new dance! I did a good job right? Do you want to see it?”
And he waited.
He didn’t get a reply from you after 2 hours, which was strange. It was very unlike you to be away from your phone for so long.
Maybe you're just extra busy.
However, dinner time came and left. Shortly after, the clock struck twelve.
And there was still no reply.
Chan unlocked his phone and looked at the message. You read it. You had definitely read it, but you didn't reply.
He felt his heart break a little.
Was your friendship on a break too?
No matter how upset he was, chan convinced himself to think positive.
She's just not used to the entire “relationship on break” thing. Maybe if I message her a few more times she’ll reply me, just like how she always did.
Chan managed to find another opportunity to message you once again.
It was somewhat a stretch, to put it simply. He wanted to ask for your opinion on what he should wear to class the following day.
Laying out the two different outfits on the bed, he snapped a photo, sent it to you with the message “Light blue with stripes or dark blue with stripes?”, and hoped for the best.
Even though it was a free day for Chan, he felt occupied. He tried sitting on his bed to do some reading, it worked, but for only 5 minutes. He went down to the kitchen to make himself a cup of tea, he went to the living room to watch television. He even went to the nearby supermarket to grab his favourite snacks.
But the thought of you just refused to leave his mind.
Chan was about to take a shower when his phone buzzed, causing him to make a dash for it. He hoped it wasn’t one of those useless notifications where they told him that he walked 12 kilometres already.
And miraculously, it was a message from you.
With trembling fingers, he unlocked his phone and opened up the message, delighted that he could once again talk to you. It had been too long since he last struck a proper conversation with anyone, and he couldn’t wait to tell you all about what happened to him lately.
But his heart dropped as he read the first sentence.
“Hey Chan, I found someone else.”
Did he see that right? Was he hallucinating?
Blinking away the tears that were gradually building up, he continued to read the message.
“He’s older than me by a couple of years, we met in a cafe last month, and we clicked. It was when I realised that maybe older guys were better for me. He’s got a bright future ahead and I think we match really well. So if I could ask a favour from you, it would be to stop messaging me. I think I want to take a break from our friendship also. I don’t think we’re meant for each other, I’m sorry.”
Unknowingly, the phone slipped out of the male’s hand, as he collapsed to the floor. He still fought to hold back his tears, there was no point in crying anyway. You really did want to take a break from your friendship also.
Chan picked up his phone and got up from the floor. The best thing he could do now was to let life carry on.
He walked to the bathroom, shutting the door behind him.
“Although I have a lot of tears, I don’t wanna cry.”
