I will never shut up about how luffy and zoro understand each other even with little to no words, and their level of understanding is at such a core/fundamental level (i'll get to this later) that grows as time goes on, and it always leaves me dumbfounded?? There are so many examples for this, starting from the very first arc till the current one.
romance dawn arc - shells town (tho i think it's more apparent in the anime version )
But one of my favorite moments being that one particular moment from jaya island arc. At first zoro was like ".......?" (He even positioned his sword against bellamy's neck just before this) but then luffy asked zoro not to respond/fight back at all. And zoro being the obedient first mate that he really is of course complied.
After the whole thing that happened, the captain and his first mate never really talked about the whole ordeal and just moved on, but then later we get to this part:
Like zoro just gets it? Even without needing an explanation from luffy, he brain is just so in tune with luffy, he just knew... in his on way, as for why his captain made that kind of decision...
Which is actually so wild to me because luffy got this kind of 'way of thinking' from his past experience with shanks when he was just a little kid.
Back then luffy's reaction was just like nami's, but not until shanks saved him from the bandits that luffy began to understand why shanks did what he did
But zoro? He just understands luffy oh so wholeheartedly, personally i think at the time he just followed his captain's order and then figured things out along the way (and on his own!) and idc but god i hate him so much like why is he so perfect for luffy?? such a perfect first mate, i want to bawl

Girls... I thought about it again... if Luffy has told Sanji about Zoro and the rice balls... it's not even funny HE NEEDS TO KNOW

rewatching one piece for the 63891th time and it is still so funny to me how quickly zoro switched from “i’ll kill you if you get in the way of my dreams” to literally putting his life on the line for luffy

This was a really good and adorable moment for them to show how much Zoro would trust Luffy and the timing on this was just right

ok but 'romance dawn' is such a beautiful phrase
it's the start of an adventure, when your eyes are bright and the world is a vast, unknown place, filled with excitement and riches, when your child self is holding the reins and your dreams still have the gloss of youth, when the mist is just starting to rise and reveal the landscape to your eager gaze as you set off on your quest with friends by your side and hope in your heart
romance dawn is a phrase that embodies the freedom that comes when you're off to do what you want and nothing can stand in your way
