List 4 (coming soon)
Bonus - Have some soulmate prompts/ideas
———————————————————————
~1st one~
Dacre Montgomery x reader (high school sweethearts) 🌸
Dacre and the reader are costars with their characters being love interests. They’re both in an interview talking about season 3 and Y/C/N and billy’s death scene. The reader talks about how they got the idea to kill off their character because they wanted more time with Dacre and to not stress out. So the scene goes the reader’s character (Y/C/N) tries to save Billy but sadly dies from his hands by strangulation. It was super emotional because the last words that were spoken were “I just want my sunshine back” (which reader calls Dacre) so they basically talk about that scene and how memorable it was to go that way!
“When they yelled cut all I felt were Dacre’s arms around me.”
(If someone writes this one PLEASE TAG ME!!!)
Tumblr media
~2nd one~
Billy Hargrove x reader
Where reader just tries to make Billy jealous for pay back cause he makes them jealous like everyday at the pool.
“Just let me have this for today. Let me have the attention”
Tumblr media
~3rd one~
Eddie Munson x reader
Reader is full on just female version of Eddie but loves the sweet cliché shit. (Ex: cheesy rom coms, holding hands, picnics in the woods) (P.S. Tiefling fairy! That’s a me)
Tumblr media
~4th one~
Ghost face Steddie x reader
Anything that tbh
Tumblr media
~5th one~
ANYTHING WITH THE BOYS X READER
Steve x Eddie x reader x Billy
Tumblr media
~6th one~
Billy Hargrove x reader 🌸
You’re having dinner with his family minus Neil till he comes home and things escalate. He’s about to hit Billy until the reader pulls him back and puts a knife to his throat.
“If you lay a finger on him I’ll slit your throat right in front of your family you got that?!”
Tumblr media
~7th one~
Eddie Munson x Henderson reader, (Dustin Henderson & reader)
Reader and Dustin have the best sibling relationship in Hawkins. He’s the little adorable nerd while she’s the mother always making sure he’s okay and well. (Ex: Makes sure he eats at lunch aka packs stuff for him/shares her food, Ruffles his hair/gives kisses to his head/forehead, makes sure he’s doing good physically and emotionally, always picks him and his friends up from dnd) Eddie finds this sweet and slowly falls for her.
“Hey Dusty guess what I got!” *pulls out two Hostess Cupcake packages*
Tumblr media
~8th one~
Steve Harrington x Buckley reader, (Robin Buckley & reader)
Reader is Robin’s older sister who has the sweetest sweet tooth known to Hawkins. Steve figures this out after a week of visits from the sister everyday sometimes twice a day. How will Steve win her over and how will Robin react?!
“She’d start crying if you gave her a giant cake or something!”
Tumblr media
~9th one~
Billy Hargrove x Pyromaniac reader
Billy dropped his lighter and now it’s gone! Angry he’s been ignoring everyone all day trying to figure out where it went. The next day he makes eye contact with the reader who… HAS HIS LIGHTER!!! Running after them he finds the reader and oh wow… their really hot!
“I-I’m sorry! I just really like collecting empty lighters and I thought this one was forgotten… and I was gonna set this trash bin on fire.”
Tumblr media
~10th one~
Eddie Munson x Guitarist/Artist reader
Every week Eddie finds a drawing of him and every month he finds a cassette in his locker. These gifts make him wonder who’s spending their time of day on the “freak” of Hawkins? With the Hellfire club on his side will he figure out who this lovely person is?
“It has all of my favorite songs on it… and look! The art is so realistic!”
Tumblr media
~11th one~
(Talked about this in a previous post)
Steve Harrington x reader x Billy Hargrove
When reader and Billy are on a date they decide to go see Steve “The Hair” Harrington at Scoops Ahoy (Because they missed him and were gonna pick him up after his shift ended). When the party sees Billy and reader having a good time together half of them try to protect the reader while the other half panic because they know that Steve and reader are dating! The party get a big surprise!
“Wait! Robin you knew?!”

THE AARONS 2020 - Best Film
Believe it or not, there were movies released last year - 75 of them at the very least, as that’s how many I watched. That’s 30 less than last year, even though I spent approximately 300% more time inside my home, but I’ll cut myself some slack. 2020 may have been a loss, but there were still some real winners to come out of it. Here are the Aarons for Best Film:
Tumblr media
#10. The Assistant
Tumblr media
It’s a sin of omission: No name is spoken in the film. No crimes are labeled. The towering chair in the middle of the shot sits empty, and yet the dangerous jaw of the doorframe is unmistakable. Kitty Green’s office procedural is made more nauseating in its minimalism; loosely based on the Weinstein sexaul assault scandal, The Assistant counts on a viewer’s familiarity, not just with the broad strokes of abuse, but the minutiae that enables it. By following a junior employee, played by the always tactful Julia Garner, through a series of daily mundanities, Green’s film shifts the spotlight, questioning our collective culpability in creating toxic environments. Every act must be an act of rebellion, the film says, or else we are assisting.
Tumblr media
#9. Happiest Season
Tumblr media
Happiest Season hit a snag last year: what was set to be a landmark in wide-release studio rom-coms became another victim of a pandemic that pushed people apart for the holidays. The homey movie might have hit harder in its Hulu-Original release though, as a needed reminder of the power of patience during difficult times. Harper (Mackenzie Davis) waits too long after an invite home for Christmas to tell her girlfriend Abby (Kristen Stewart) that she’s not out to her parents, imploring they keep the relationship a secret for the time being. It’s an unreasonable ask, prompted by unjust circumstances. By honestly exploring that conflict in hilarious, heartfelt fashion, Happiest Season was the most wonderful time of an interminable year.
Tumblr media
#8. Wolfwalkers
Tumblr media
Wolfwakers doesn’t run in a pack with the output of other animation studios, despite sharing a similar gravitas to the best of the Disney Renaissance. The wild style of its swirling sensory colors shed realism for an immersive, uninhibited fantasy world. Formatted like a proper fairy tale, the film centers on a moral: as wolfhunter’s daughter Robyn gains the ability to transform into the animal at night, the film walks viewers through overcoming fear of “the other'' in order to identify the true monsters among us. The howl of its voice actors, backed by a repurposed single by singer Aurora, completes this captivating creation. Released on the Apple TV+ streaming service, the film can rightfully boast of being one of the best of the year, so there’s no need to buy a wolf ticket.
Tumblr media
#7. Onward
Tumblr media
Onward put Pixar back on a forward-thinking path after a series of skippable sequels. Like director Dan Scanlon’s previous effort, it’s a smaller-scale saga for the studio, riffing on a classic comedic conceit rather than voicing existential crises: in a modernized fantasy world, two brothers take a road trip to locate a mystical artifact that can bring their father back for one more day. The quest is Pixar at its most magical, tweaking traditional tropes and tugging at one’s heartstrings. Despite the pieces being present, the film circumvents the jealousy of “knowledge vs. natural talent” that fueled Scanlon’s Monsters University; its vulnerable, supportive, affectionate sibling relationship made Onward especially moving.
Tumblr media
#6. The Vast of Night
Tumblr media
The Vast of Night plays on the vastness of imagination, tracking a young radio DJ and a switchboard operator through interviews that untangle the extraterrestrial events of their small town. In effect, the film is the Super 8 of the podcast world, plugging into the particular power of its medium by way of a retro-sci-fi adventure. For those on that wavelength, the atmospheric indie is an equally eerie and enticing beacon to the thrill of discovery. This audial focus doesn’t come at the expense of its visual format, mind you: the film’s hypnotic hold is only broken once - by the absolutely stunning construction of its midpoint tracking shot, one for the record books.
Tumblr media
#5. Tenet
Tumblr media
A question of cause-and-effect: did Christopher Nolan’s newest blockbuster fall into my top five for the year, or was a new Nolan novelty destined to place there before the year even began? His filmography has been on a roll since its inception, and the director keeps that forward-momentum going with the twisty Tenet, a time-bending thriller about agents unraveling a temporal cold war. Any way you look at them, the innovative, physics-based action scenes astound. Meanwhile, the midpoint movement turns on wondrous, child-like glee. With this grand of a scale, it’s a shame that Nolan’s devotion to the big screen despite the pandemic hampered the release; it seems some of the director’s tenets are better than others.
Tumblr media
#4. His House
Tumblr media
The works of Jordan Peele will likely be at the forefront of a viewer’s mind during His House, but, make no mistake, the film has horrors all its own. It’s a similar set-up to Get Out: a South-Sudanese refugee couple endure the various racist micro-aggressions of trying to assimilate or accommodate to an unwelcoming environment, even before learning their government-mandated housing is haunted. While that’s the foundation, His House’s ultimate form is unexpected, linked not to the guises of progress, but to the guilt of the past. Its supernatural sequences are made more startling by the raw performance of stars Sope Dirisu and Wunmi Mosaku; they own His House.
Tumblr media
#3. First Cow
Tumblr media
Behind every successful man, there stands a cow. Director Kelly Reichardt continued her career-long deconstruction of the Western last year in her best bittersweet concoction, First Cow. Pioneers Cookie and Lu seek the promise of the frontier in 1800s Oregon Country, sneaking milk from a wealthy land-owner’s cow to start an oil-cake business. The camaraderie is lovely, but that contract is a lie: the truth is a world in which only capital begets capital, where the rich are more concerned with having something than using it. Reichardt doesn’t beef up this drama with overblown conflicts, instead milking the minimalism to ‘udderly’ devastating results: they were the first, but we’ll all be waiting on that Western promise of prospect ‘til the cows come home.
Tumblr media
#2. The Invisible Man
Tumblr media
Often, movies will ask viewers to look at their monsters as metaphors; sometimes, they’re just monsters through and through. The Invisible Man, an update on the classic Universal film, polishes up the original’s special effects, but makes its titular character much uglier. Bringing the invasive nature of invisibility to the surface, the film reinterprets the character as a domestic abuser, gaslighting his ex, Cecilia, from beyond his supposed grave. Elizabeth Moss makes it a must-watch, never letting the audience look away from the trauma and terror of that situation. It’s highly-disturbing horror, made more so by an ending that leaves viewers in the dark, and the craft is always phenomenal. Director Leigh Whannell clearly had vision since his very first film project, but after The Invisible Man, everyone will be saying, “Saw who?”
Tumblr media
AND THE BEST FILM OF 2020 IS...
#1. Straight Up
Tumblr media
Straight Up? One of the best rom-coms of recent memory, and my favorite film of an odd year. It’s a fittingly off-beat premise after all: a young gay man and an equally-witty young woman, each struggling with intimacy in different ways, explore an unusual romantic relationship with each other. In a time when we were all cut off from connections with other people, Straight-Up reexamined internalized phobias and millennial malaise to forge new ones, uncovering the rare occurrence of a platonic ideal. With whip-smart dialogue, reflective filmmaking, and two star-making central performances, you will surely fall as in love with Straight Up as I did, and that is nothing less than My Hahn-est Opinion.

——————————
Brock wished there was something he had to cover his face. The blush was very apparent in his cheeks as Jonathan talked to the older woman at the ticket counter. A platonic date, he was assured. As the two friends went to see the most romantic movie of the season and Jon was not. Holding back. At all.
He had shown up at the door in a dress shirt and clip on tie (“little dressed for casual, isn’t it?”) with a heart shaped box of chocolates under his arm (“Thanks. But you know this isn’t a romantic date, right?”). Jon had even tried to get Brock to hold hands as they came into the theater (“Platonic, Jon. Are you sure you know what that means?”). It was a little over the top, considering they were two friends going out because they had nothing else to do today.
“Two tickets to Fifty Shades Freed.” The woman said, handing the tickets to Brock. “Theater 5 on your left. Just remember, be mindful of other patrons if you do decide to become … intimate during the film.”
“Oh, we’re not …” Brock began to say, trying to gesture to himself and Jon. But the other man had already run off to get onto the concessions line, determined to get as many sugary snacks before Brock could get there. “We’re just friends.”
“Standard procedure, sir. We have to do this for every romantic movie.” She smiled, but Brock didn’t have to worry if she truly meant it. Jon was already coming toward him, candy snacks piled in his arms.
“I got you your favorite.” He said guiltily, passing over a package of M&Ms Brock’s way. Brock didn’t budge, the disapproving motherly look still on his face.
“I told you before, only one sugary snack, popcorn and maybe a soda.”
“Well, you left me unsupervised. And that’s kinda your fault.”
“You’re an adult, Jonathan. You should not need my supervision.”
“We both know that I fail at adulting.” Jonathan refuted. Brock sighed. If there was one thing he had learned from their friendship, it was that Jonathan could not be argued out of something he believed in. Arguably very frustration at times for the Mom friend, especially when he knew he was right.
“Fine. But don’t blame me if you end up throwing up at the carnival.” Jonathan nods furiously, before Brock grabs his wrist and drags him toward the ticket guy. It’s an older gentleman again, and Brock tries to hold back his eye roll.
“Tickets please?” Brock hands the guy the two tickets, and he hands the stubs back equally as fast. “Enjoy the show.” The man’s voice is flat, clearly eyeing the two with contempt.
“We’re not boyfriends, just guy friends.” Brock assures him, before Jonathan jumps in.
“Brosexual, if you will.”
“Not helping.”
—————————
“I told you. You wouldn’t believe me, but I told you.”
“Shuch up!!” Jonathan yells in response, before beginning to feeling queasy again. He leaned once more over the bucket they had found, letting the contents of his stomach go once more. Brock patted him on the back, making sure none of the vomit got on him. The smell of food around him didn’t help, buttered popcorn and funnel cakes drifting toward their noses.
“Is … he okay?” Brock turned to face the girl who asked him. The teen is extremely pale, like she went on too many rides as well. Her auburn hair was messily tied back, and black glasses still lay loosely in her sweatshirt pocket.
“He just went on too many rides, that’s all.”
“Ditto.”
“I blame you.” Jon stated, using a nearby napkin to wipe excess vomit. “You made me go on all those rides after eating that pretzel.”
“No. After the pretzel I specifically said, ‘Jon, we should take a break. You’re going to throw up if you keep going on all the spinny rides.’ To which you responded, ‘You can’t tell me what to do.’, before going on all the rides.”
“You should have been taking better care of me then.”
“I am not your mom!”
“You are the mom friend. Does that count?” Brock hears the girl besides them giggle at their bickering.
“You guys are honestly couple goals.”
“Platonic!” Brock refutes, clearly getting flustered at the topic again. “Look .. look it up. In the dictionary.”
“Sorry. Geez, didn’t mean to hit a sore spot.”
“KATIE!!”
“Coming Mom!” The girl shouted, slipping on her glasses before walking toward the rest of her family. Brock sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose and shaking his head. Why did people assume he and Jon were on a date?
“Can I have a teddy bear?” Jon blurted out, “Not like one of the tiny ones, but the big ones that you win at the games. Can you win me one?”
“Jon, you know I don’t have an athletic bone in my body and my luck is even worse.”
“But I want a TEDDY BEAR!!”
“How about this.” Brock proposed. “I run out to the Walmart shopping center and see if I can find one. While I do that, you can wait in line for the Ferris Wheel. Okay? Can you do that for me?”
“Yeah!” He cheers excitedly. God, he really is an overexcited child.
—————————
“This is was a good day. Did you enjoy it? I enjoyed it.” Jonathan squealed, clutching even harder to the giant bear Brock had gotten him from Babies R’ Us (but don’t tell him that). It took up about a third of the seat, but Jonathan never care. And neither did Brock right now. He was just glad that one of his best friends had managed to drag him out of the house and just enjoy the 14th of February. The smile on his face was genuine as the car they were in stopped right at the top. The view of the lights of the city was breaktaking, even if they weren’t that high up.
“Wow.” Brock breathed, the car swaying back and forth.
“Yeah, It’s pretty, isn’t it?”
“Beautiful.”
“I just wish I could see the stars.” Jonathan reminisced. “I remember Luke and I would just drive for hours to find this nice quiet place away from the lights and noise of the city. We’d take turns driving while the other goofed around in the back, singing to the radio at the top of out lungs off key. We’d leave at the beginning of the day and just get to the spot around midnight. Both of us would be tired but we’d pull an all nighter just to watch the stars disappear and the sun rise. I miss that. The two of us for three days.” Brock didn’t say anything, just tried to formulate words as the wheel started up again, pulling the view away from them.
“Why didn’t you guys do that this year?” He finally asked.
“He met Genay. And while I love her, I really do, it’s just don’t have that much time to hang out with him anymore. I just … I needed to get out of the house and do something. Sorry, if this is making you think I think you any less or you were just my second choice. You’re one of my best friends, if not the best. Just .. yeah.”
The two sat in silence the rest of the ride, which wasn’t long. Brock kept replaying Del’s confession in his head, trying to remedy what his friend had told him. And when the two had gotten off the wheel, Delirious was clinging to his teddy even tighter than before.
“Hey, Jonathan?” Moo spoke finally as the two headed toward the exit, the night getting late and Jon’s eyes struggling to stay open. “How about next Valentine’s Day, if the two of us are still single, we take a road trip?”
“Where to?”
“Oh, I was thinking maybe the middle of nowhere.” Jonathan’s eyes widened, and before Brock knew it he was being lifted into the air via Delirious’ hug.
“OMG YES!!! BEST VALENTINE’S DAY OF MY LIFE!!!”
“Best Valentine’s Day of your life so far.” Both men smiled, having a feeling the comedic remark was going to hold true. That next year was going to be even better.

3. Text message: “Yes” in response to my grandmother, who asked if I got her text.
4. Song you listened to: Reflection from Mulan
5. Time you cried: Two days ago, in the middle of a back country road in Somerset, over a goddamn Severus Snape fanfic. I’m still mad that the writer actually managed to make me care about fucking Snape.
— Have you ever…
6. Dated someone twice: No. Have I dated someone once? Yes, but only by accident.
7. Kissed someone and regretted it: No.
8. Been cheated on: Look I’m ace as fuck and have never dated really ever.
9. Lost someone special: Yes, I’ve lost friends in multiple senses.
10. Been depressed: I don’t think so.
11. Gotten drunk and thrown up: Any alcohol has this taste for me that the best I’ve been able to describe it is “rancid nickles,” it’s bloody awful, and I’ve never been able to stomach more than a sip of the stuff, so no.
— Fave colours
12. Olive green.
13. Purple.
14. Deep cerulean.
— in the last year have you…
15. Made new friends: Not really. I made a couple of cordial acquaintences in the drama productions I’ve been in, but no one close.
16. Fallen out of love: No, see above about being ace as fuck. Now, my brief obsession with the show Sherlock...
17. Laughed until you cried: Yes. So many times.
18. Found out someone was talking about you: Yes, in both good ways and bad ways.
19. Met someone who changed you: So many people. Just one who springs to mind is my Education professor at college. She was amazing.
20. Found out who your friends are: I am fully aware that I am a terrible long-distance friend. It’s my worst flaw and I wish I was better about this. I think I’ve betrayed more friendships by just letting them slip away than I ever have had people turn on, or abandon, me.
21. Kissed someone on your facebook friends list: Unless we’re referring to familial pecks on cheeks... no.
— General
22. How many of your facebook friends do you know irl: Nearly all of them, apart from one random guy that my cousins met online and who has since befriended the entire family.
23. Do you have any pets: I no longer live at home, but my family still has one of the two cats we had when I was growing up.
24. Do you want to change your name: I think about it sometimes. I think about it a lot. I’ve just started using a new name with an eye to it becoming my official pen name. I don’t know if I want to start using it as my everyday name.
25. What did you do for your last birthday: Oh, crap... I can’t remember. I think my mom was there, and my grandparents. We had cake and a tiny family party. I think. All I remember is I was glad I didn’t have a play rehearsal that day.
26. What time did you wake up today: 6:50 am
27. What were you doing at midnight last night: Sleeping, for once in my life.
28. What is something you can’t wait for: Finally achieving my lifelong goal: being employed, being published, and being financially stable enough that I can afford a little house, with a dishwasher and laundry, and a cat, and food, and health insurance, and Netflix. It seems... a long way off. Also the next episode of Supergirl?
29. This question is mysteriously missing, so I will pose a question to the universe/the people I’m going to tag: What was the first piece of media (film, book, world, comic, game, character, etc) that you were ever obsessed with?
30. What are you listening to right now: Silence.
31. Have you ever talked to a person named Tom: Several Tims, but no Toms. Excluding possibly some random middle aged guys back when I was growing up because who remembers that sort of thing
32. Something that’s getting on your nerves: People assuming I’m in my early teens and asking me things like how high school is going. Then I’m like, “Nope, I’m like ten years older than that, graduated college a while ago now,” and they’re like “Oh, you look so young,” and I’m like “I know!!” and then (and this is the bit that’s driving me crazy) they all say “You’ll be so grateful when you’re my age!” Like... I just kind of called you out for patronizing me? And your immediate response is to patronize me again? Also there’s no guarantee that I’ll still look ten years younger than I actually am when I’m 50? Also, I may be grateful or not when I’m your age but it sure isn’t doing me any favors now? Please stop. Just stop.
33. Most visited website: I may or may not be slightly obsessed with Nonasuch’s fantastic Dogfather Harry Potter AU and I might check their tumblr once or twice a day.
34. Hair colour: Somewhere between dirty blond and light brown now. It was blond when I was a kid.
35. Long or short hair: Okay, so I really want to be able to braid my hair elaborately again, but I also love the feel of short hair on the back of my neck.  Right now it’s in an inbetween stage and I can have neither of these things. What is a person to do.
36. Do you have a crush on someone: I had things I called crushes when I was in high school and hadn’t figured out I’m ace as fuck. I get hardcore friend crushes.
37. What do you like about yourself: I’m proud of my talents, though I play them down more than I should, and I neglect to practice them more than I should. I like how far I’ve come figuring out my identity and who I am these past six years or so.
38. Want any piercings: Under no circumstances am I voluntarily going to sit still and let someone poke a needle through me or into me for anything other than a medical necessity. This applies to tattoos as well. I respect people who have them, but hell no for me.
39. Blood type: SOMEONE knows because I’ve had a blood transfusion, I think, but I don’t have a clue.
40. Nicknames: I have wanted a nickname my entire life and nothing has ever stuck.
41. Relationship status: Single asexual inactively seeks person willing to share habitation, bookshelves, Netflix, pet, and nerdy conversation for the rest of their life.
42. Sign: I don’t do the zodiac thing at all, but I’m an INTJ and a Hufflepuff.
43. Pronouns: Um, this is a weird place and time to do this, but since you asked, I’ve just changed them to “they/them.”
44. Fave tv show: Ever? Avatar the Last Airbender. Right now? Supergirl, The Flash, Miraculous Ladybug
45. Tattoos: See above regarding NEEDLES
46. Fave city: Albuquerque. Fight me.
47: Ever had surgery: When I was a kid I had The Case of Pneumonia From Hell and Fun Times in Hospitals and got chest tubes and part of my lung removed. Also a few minor random stuff.
48. Piercings: See above regarding needles. The needle phobia is directly related to the Fun Times in Hospitals.
49. Sport: Literally none. I’ll watch gymnastics and skating every four years, but apart from that the highlight of my interest in sports was that time that JKR was live-writing the Quidditch World Cup on Pottermore.
50. Vacation: I’m in Oxford right now, somewhere I’ve always dreamed of being! And I’m on my way to Scotland and Wales.
— More general
52. Eating: Sushi, macaroni and cheese, fruit, chocolate, scones
53. Drinking: tea, tea, tea, milk, orange juice, non-alcoholic lemonade or apple cider, water, tea, tea, tea
54. I’m about to watch: Brooklyn 99 (The UK has it on netflix!!)
55. Waiting for: My betas to come back to me on my novel draft. Then it’s agent shopping!
56. Want: A cat, the ability to focus, the ability to read properly without stupid eye problems, a job, writing time
57. Get married: ... growing up I fantasized about getting married because I wanted my paternal cousins to meet my maternal cousins and I couldn’t think of any way that would likely happen apart from my marriage and I think they would get on like a house on fire.. this still seems like one of the only motivating factors for me ever to get married.
58. Career: Author and poet and crazy cat lady
— Which is better
59. Hugs or kisses: hugs
60. Lips or eyes: Neither. I don’t actually like making eye contact even though I’ve learned to do it, and why would I stare at people’s mouths?
61. Shorter or taller: For a dance partner? Taller, but not significantly so.
62. Older or younger: If this is meant to be about romantic partners? Because why would anyone ask this question? Significant age gaps are generally not a good thing either way, except possibly between two consenting adults who understand and work to alleviate the uneven power dynamic a significant age gap typically creates?
63. Nice arms or stomach: The heck?
64. Hookup or relationships: Relationships.
65. Troublemaker or hesitant: Hesitant and trying to overcome it
— Have you ever
66. Kissed a stranger: NOPE
67. Drank hard liquor: See above regarding the horrors created by my taste buds and any alcohol.
68. Turned someone down: Yes. It was awwwkward, but he was a friend. Normally, when I suspect someone likes me, I run away and never speak to them again. Trying to get over that.
69. Sex on first date: Uh nnnoooo
70: Broken someone’s heart: I hope not
71. Had your heart broken: By friendships, yeah.
72. Been arrested: Nope
73. Cried when someone died: Not really.
74. Fallen for a friend: A couple times, but in like, a really aggressively platonic way
— Do you believe in
75. Yourself: Yes.
76. Miracles: Yes.
77. Love at first sight: Yes, because it basically happened to my parents. Theirs is a story of being bookstore managers, an immediate attraction, a mutual failure to understand origami, and a shared love of Star Trek. It would make a perfect rom com but there was literally no drama. My parents are adorable.
78. Santa Claus: I have always had the ability to choose what I believe in. Santa Claus was one of those things, long after I knew the truth.
79. Angels: Not really of the stereotypical “feathery wings and flawless skin” type. In the possibility or even likelihood of benevolent forces or beings outside human comprehension that are not a divine creator but may be from or of the divine, yes. This likely has a lot to do with how many times I read Narnia, The Dark is Rising, and A Wrinkle in Time as a kid, now I think about it.
— Misc
80. Eye colour: Green
81. Best friend’s name: I have a few. One starts with a C.
82. Favourite movie: The Fellowship of the Ring. Or 101 Dalmations.
83. Favourite actor: Maggie Smith
84. Favourite cartoon: Avatar the Last Airbender. I didn’t discover it until I was about 18, but I love it to death.
85. Religion: Ex-roman catholic Episcopalian

☾   cute character questions   ☽
THE  BASICS.
Tumblr media
NAME : Vera Bennett. AGE :  43. ZODIAC SIGN :  Cancer. ONE GOOD TRAIT :  Loyal. ONE BAD TRAIT :  Overly curious/a total snoop.
HABITS.
ONE BAD HABIT :  She bites her lip quite often. It’s a bit chapped as a result. ONE GOOD HABIT :  Her dedication to the job. Though a workaholic, Vera genuinely wants what’s best for the women in prison. ONE HABIT THEY CAN’T BREAK:  Her snooping. Curiosity drives her to act. She’s snooped on numerous occasions { i.e. finding her colleague/Fletch’s private diary, finding incriminating evidence against Joan Ferguson, etc }. ONE THEY’VE BROKEN:  Her nervousness & stage fright when it comes to speaking in front of crowds. Thanks to an affirmation band, she’s able to keep her nerves in check. Seldom does her stutter come out as Governor. WHAT THEY’RE AFRAID OF:  Dying alone. Or even worse, turning into her abusive mother.
FAMILY.
THEIR PARENTS NAMES :  Rita Bennett & Arnold Bennett { whom was absent during Vera’s life }. THEIR SIBLINGS NAMES :  None. She’s an only child. FAVOURITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY :  Her happiest memories have always been away from home, as a child. There’d been a teacher she was fond of - who took a notice to her quiet nature. Said teacher gave her a book upon her completion of the grade. FAVOURITE CHILDHOOD TOY :   Affectionately dubbed ‘ Patches, ‘ the toy is no longer in possession. The only remainder of her father happened to be a worn stuffed animal: a red and blue dog held together by crude stitches and extra patches. It disintegrated over time until Rita found the thing & forcibly threw it into the trash. EMBARRASSING STORY : Season 5, episode 6 { Happy Birthday, Vera } reveals that Mum organized a ‘ birthday party ‘ for Vera. She claimed to invite a whole slew of friends, only to end the party right before her birthday. Cruelly, Rita told Vera that no one cared about her. It’s painful, more than embarrassing. FAVOURITE FAMILY MEMBER:   Laurie Harris-Turner, Rita Bennett’s older sister. A STORY ABOUT THAT FAMILY MEMBER:  On weekends, Rita would often take Vera to visit her older sister, Laurie. Compared to Rita, Laurie was a kinder woman with a level head. Married and unable to conceive, she doted on little Vera from ages three to seven. More than anything, Vera looked forward to these weekends. She enjoyed sitting on the back patio with her sandwich and iced tea, kicking her legs in an oversized seat. Together, they tended to the garden.
WHAT  THEY  PREFER.
COFFEE OR TEA ?  Tea. Coffee for a double or a particularly arduous shift. SHOWERING IN THE DAY OR NIGHT ?  Baths are reserved for the night, showers for the early morning before her shift. TAKING BATHS OR TAKING SHOWERS ?  Bath. A good soak relaxes her. TV OR MOVIES ?  Movies. She enjoys rom coms & anything of an overly romantic nature. WRITING OR READING ?  Reading. After going through her night time rituals, she may curl up with a book before dozing off. PLATONIC OR ROMANTIC LOVE ?  Vera is desperate for love in any way, shape, or form due to how she’s been deprived of it her entire life. So, both. ICED TEA OR LEMONADE ?  Neither. She’d prefer a hot cuppa. ICE CREAM OR SMOOTHIES ?  Ice cream.  CUPCAKES OR CAKE ?  Cupcakes. BEACH OR MOUNTAINS ?  Beach. There’s a clarity there along with a serenity that clears the mind.
FAVOURITES.
SONG :  ‘ People are People ‘ - Depeche Mode BAND : INXS. OUTFIT :  Outside of the uniform, Vera prefers comfort over design. She favors gaudy prints that are either floral, contain birds or butterflies. She takes to wearing scarves and skirts. At home, it’s a ratty, old t-shirt and faded yoga pants. PLACE :  The Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne, Australia. A native of Victoria, she’s always been at ease walking the trails. MEMORY : Vera tries desperately to look back upon fonder times - one of which was with her former mentor & Governor, Joan Ferguson. During the infamous debriefing in season two, the women shared a few drinks together. There, Vera trusted openly. She adored Joan. She adored what they had. PERSON :  Every favorite has more or less ended up a knife in the back. In line of recent canon, it would either be Bridget Westfall or Will Jackson; she considers the two of them to not only be confidantes, but friends. MOVIE :  Lucky Break (1994). SHOW :  All Saints.
