Rei is the emotionally malnourished, materially wealthy adult who hangs on to life by a frayed thread and Kazuki is the emotionally explosive, mentally ill adult who will shove more color into Rei's life by force bc Kazuki has experienced a life full of grey and black and white and he cannot bear to see his friend fall into that suffocating pit.

They weren't supposed to work so well together, they weren't supposed to live so well together, but they do. They're more than roommates, more than friends, they're family and they stopped wanting to die for their family and rather want to LIVE for it.

Miri is the sunshine child surrounded by shades of grey and splashes of color that follow her everywhere, she's surrounded by danger but her inner world is mostly colorful, and thanks to Kazuki and Rei, her surroundings get brighter too.

Their surroundings get brighter, more colorful. There are still grey and black and white splotches here and there, but they're together and they tackle them together.

i'm actually surprised at how happy i am about the change from alex wearing henry's ring around his neck along with his key to alex giving henry the key in return, considering that two homes side by side is one of my favorite lines from the book.

because towards the beginning of the movie, you have henry saying that he's never owned a key to anything before, and so alex giving him this one feels like the natural conclusion. moreover, it's so symbolic of alex giving henry all the things henry never thought he could have—something something you made me happy in ways in which it had never even occurred to me that a mangled-up, locked-up person like me could be happy.

henry's ring symbolizes his commitment to alex, yes—but it's also a reminder of his burden and everything that weighs him down. the key, on the other hand—it's at the very heart of all of alex's vulnerabilities, all of his dreams; the ones he lost and the ones he still has to look forward to. and he gave it to henry and trusted him to keep it safe.

so, yes: alex wearing a reminder of his childhood home and henry on his neck as they fight for their future.

but also: alex and henry trading the symbols of what they both have so much to lose, and trusting the other to keep it safe.

📽️ 10 Things I Hate about You (1999)

This is one of my favorite movies. I don’t even know how many times I’ve seen it, but it never gets old. It’s based on a Shakespeare play (The Taming of the Shrew) which is probably why all the characters are so interesting and relatable. Shakespeare’s themes are so universal and timeless, and I think this movie is too. I’ve loved this movie from the first time I saw it.

Sex/nudity: 5/10 (drawings of breasts and penises, off-screen flashing, kissing, many innuendoes, nicknames for male parts, talk of teen pregnancy)

Language: 3/10 (mostly mild but there is quite a bit)

Violence: 2/10 (a couple fights)

Overall rating: 9/10

It always warms my heart and reminds me just how filled with love everyone is this time of year (unless you’re Scrooge). One of the newest holiday movies on the list, this charming sapphic holiday rom-com starring Kristen Stewart is about wanting your family’s acceptance while staying true to yourself. Fans of Happiest Season will love Sabina Khan’s What a Desi Girl Wants, a brilliant love story filled with nuanced family dynamics and a sprinkling of sabotage that’s sure to set your queer (or not so queer) heart ablaze.

If you like The Holiday (2006), then you might like Stars in Their Eyes!

When Harry Met Sally might take the crown for one of the most famous rom-com movies of all time, the holiday celebrations in the film always leave me feeling so festive, but if I’ve learned one thing from this well-known romance, it’s that you should always, ALWAYS, follow your heart. Fans of this quirky love story will absolutely adore Sayantani DasGupta’s witty and bright Rosewood, a romantic and funny retelling of Sense & Sensibility set at a Bridgerton-esque summer camp, where Elia must choose to follow her carefully laid plans or let a certain someone derail them.

I feel there’s a lot of misunderstanding about Ed and Stede’s motivations/intentions/states of mind in ep 7 so these are my 2 cents cobbled together from 4am texts

Stede just has autism!! He’s acting “weird” this episode bc he's never felt SEEN before. At least not by strangers, and not for being Cool. And Ed doesn't get that really, he doesn't see that stede isn't really just Super Into Being a Cool Pirate Guy all of a sudden - We know stede is into ED rather than piracy, and if Ed wanted to not be a pirate stede would be like bet let's have an inn.l - But Ed sees this moment as him being different than Ed is ready for him to be rn bc of where he’s at emotionally now rn. And that's valid! He IS in a big transition moment. (But also he was pretty accepting of his fame, offering tips and tricks until Jackie mentions he might not be enough for stede anymore and his hackles are immediately up) But when stede finds him and is like ‘I set him ablaze then said something witty and everyone laughed!’ Stede isn't In Big Pirate mode he's literally celebrating Being Laughed With not At. He's calling all these people his friends bc he's never FELT any of this before. He doesn't GET these experiences.

And I'm so glad Ed realized he doesn't want to be a pirate! And realized he doesn't know himself! And realized he's confused about things. But for them to be on different pages NOW of all times IS THE issue!!! Bc they're both experiencing completely new things to them that are Common place for the other and therefore neither can see the importance of the moment for their partner.

I feel like that’s why Stede yelled "you're a coward!" And seemed like he meant it. Bc he doesn't GET why Ed doesn't Get him right now. STEDE overcoming his cowardice is being bold and brash and seems to be glazing over the face that ED'S bravery is in choosing himself - choosing to listen to the desire to throw his leathers overboard and be contemplative today and try to find a quiet not piratey life.

Neither of them mean the mean things they say. Ed doesn’t really think last night was a mistake but he’s not used to change and the change in the dynamic is scary to him. piracy is violence and violence means his love is more likely to be in harms way and he doesn’t know how to reconcile the idea of losing him fr. They just need to talk!!! Please!!!!!!!!

And then after all that and Ed calling last night a mistake is when stede starts acting like kraken Ed (in his own way) (albeit a very mild version Imfao) - being impulsive, starting fights for no reason but to prove himself (to whom?) Getting into dangerous situations to provoke someone into hurting him to let him show he is capable because he needs someone to know he's capable. But at what cost? He wouldn't have stopped if the bombs hadn't gone off. He would have kept going until she fucked him up. He thinks he needs to be bigger and stronger for Ed and can’t realize that that isn’t true bc he keeps seeming to lose him for reasons he can’t discern and he’s losing his crew after he got what he thought he wanted and is realizing he doesn’t know what he needs to be in order to keep people around him and doesn’t realize that it’s not *him* that is making olu choose Zheng or even Ed leaving. Correlation not causation.

I def think Eagle flies would be the type of person to take a break and then the next day he’s driving to your house to apologize
