I was gonna make this a collection of like, the rise turtles and their fav shades of their fav colors, but then Leo didn't turn out right and I am yet to be mature about it and just try again.

Donnie's is Indigo purple, Mikey's is Soda orange, Leo's is Cornflower blue and Raph's would be Candy red I think

What Would They Name Their Children? (Headcanons)

Rise!Turtles

A/N: More names!💚 And for some reason, I decided to use gifs that made me laugh lol.

Warnings: None💚

Raphael:

Big brother Raph might very much want some more “traditional” names for his children. Names that might be a little bit more common, but still very beautiful. Of course, Raph would very much want to hear what his future partner thinks of these names, before settling on any of them.

For Boys:

Edward, meaning “rich guard”.

Arthur, meaning “strong as a bear”.

Adam, the name of the first human man in the Bible.

For Girls:

Beatrice, from French, Italian and Latin origin meaning “voyager” or “traveler”.

Eleanor, meaning “one who is as bright as sun rays”.

Alice, meaning “of the nobility”.

Leonardo:

Would it surprise anyone that Neon Leon would want to give his children a Spanish name? Not really. Most people would have seen that coming from a mile away. A very avid Spanish speaker himself, it just feels natural for Leo. And if his future partner is up for it, then he already has a few ideas.

For Boys:

Marco, most likely derived from Mars, the god of war.

Joaquín, the Spanish version of the name Joachim.

Alejandro, the Spanish variant of the name Alexander.

For Girls:

Gabriela, meaning “God is my strength.

Esmeralda, meaning “emerald”.

Lucia, meaning “light”.

Donatello:

Donnie’s partner wouldn’t even have to ask - Donnie would name his children after some of the greatest scientists there have ever been. However, with Donald being the way that he is, he would want to be extravagant with those names. He would want them to have old and long names, thinking that they sound not just nice, but beautiful.

For Boys:

Archimedes, after the Greek mathematician.

Pythagoras, after the Greek philosopher, mathematician and music theorist.

Avicenna, after the Persian doctor, philosopher and politician.

For Girls:

Mercuriade, after the 14th century Italian female physician and surgeon. One of the few of her time.

Aglaonice, after the Greek astronomer.

Guillemette, after Guillemette du Luys, the royal French surgeon of king Louis XI of France.

Michelangelo:

Mikey would want to decide on a name, before the birth of his child. A name he can use to reference the child, in a way that feels more natural to him. But he would do this very early on, seeing that as one of the many reasons why Angelo would only want to give his children gender neutral names. A name he would be able to use early on, while giving his child a chance to explore their own identity, with a name that wouldn’t upstruct that.

Phoenix, after the mythological creature.

Peyton, from the Old English language, with an unknown meaning.

Lennox, meaning “place of elms” in Gaelic.

Madhu, from Sanskrit meaning “sweet”.

Presley, meaning “priest” or “clearing” in Old English.

Bellamy, meaning “beautiful friend” in Old French.

Could definitely imagine Rise Donnie as a VTuber and bleeding his subscribers dry of their cash money with some cutesy, uwu anime character. Aside from black market weapons dealing, maybe being a virtual YouTuber is where he gets the rest of his ill-begotten funds.

Mikey would also be involved because he designed the VR avatar, and Donnie's nice enough to give him a cut of the profit (what a great bro). As of now, I haven't yet finished watching ROTTMNT, but I don't think VTubing is something he does. If anyone has proof to the contrary, please let me know!

All this could also be applied to Mutant Mayhem Donnie, what with him canonically being a weeaboo anime fan.

Hello, may I offer, for your consideration since ive had this stuck in my head:

The Rise TMNT having a super punk/goth friend. They mention one day during a movie marathon somthing regarding music. Like, idk some bad guy getting someone with a piano wire and Reader just being like "That's not even a piano wire. Thats a guitar string..." April asks how they know and the reader mutters something about "having to buy enough strings to know the sizes and types."

Cue the Mad Dogs all gasping in shock!! Reader knows their instrument strings, that means they probably play!! They beg and plead for them to give a performance and, reluctantly, they agree. They seem nervous though. Come to find out, they never have played in front of someone. Not outside of classes and such. Theyre nervous. Antsy. Apparently at their big solo for a school thing, they froze and choked.

("Do you know why?" "I dont know. it was just all...so much. The suits, the heat of the lights, the massive crowd of people, the eyes, the pressure, I just....Yeah...")

Eventually it comes around to the day. Leo has been texting Reader all day to make them laugh and ease up, reminding them to wear something they WANT. Raph is helping move some speakers and amps to the half pipe, finding it has the best acoustics. Donnie has been the one setting stuff up, getting lights and such in working order. April is lending a hand and setting up a camera and doing sound checks. Mikey is doing Decor! he's made a banner, "Concerto De Reader" for the big event and make some snacks for after!

("...Hey, does anyone actually know what kind of instrument they play??" "No..." "Mmm welp its a bit late to ask without it being weird..." "Listen, its Reader. Its gonna be a guitar." "They WERE talking about the guitar string, remember?" "Yeah you're right that makes sense...")

Time finally comes and the reader makes their way in, and surprise, surprise, theyre still horrifically nervous. And clutched in hand...is a case much smaller than a guitar. But perfect for a violin.

(Poor Donatello nearly loses it. They're gonna think they're idiots for setting up an amp!!)

They set the Reader up, get them in the perfect spot.

Reader steps up to the mic, and is stopped by Leonardo taking their jacket. Raph untucks their shirt from their pants. "Just be casual." Says Mikey, with a big grin. April has her phone ready for pictures. Donnie dims the lights so theyre softer, less harsh and hot.

Big ol' goth Reader finally opens up the instrument case and check it, its a sweet electric violin.

("Yeah. That seems fitting." "Ohhhh mi gosh the amp was a good choice in the end!" "Oh this is gonna be so rad!" "chill out, Reader need to focus!" "Yeah but man im so excited...")

The reader takes a big, calming breath, Places the violin on their shoulder/chin, holds the bow above the strings....And freezes.

The gang can fix the lights. they can fix the clothes. they can make it casual or formal or anything in between.

But they cant change that theyre watching.

And once again, Reader chokes.

The gang waits patiently, some giving soothing words and encouragement and others patiently waiting or trying to ask whats wrong. But reader has frozen, blank stare at the ground, hand shaking a bit as they try to press the bow to the strings but they just CANT and-

Something comes into view. Two small pink feet and a long tale tucked under yellow cloth.

Splinter stands in front of the Reader, back to them, as he huffs and nags his sons over dishes left in the sink and a few pizza boxes left out.

("Whats the heck dad?!" "Hey!! Down in front!!" "Dad, seriously not a good time" "Hi Splints. :)" "Hello April :)" "Uggghhh..!!!")

Splinter continues to bicker with his sons and April, and any attempt to move him his met with a swift smack or threat of grounding. The teens are all so focused on the large rat, currently center stage and ruining the concerto, that its causing a problem.

....Focused on him, and not on Reader.

They take a shudding breath, and, while theyre busy, close their eyes and begin to play the first few notes.

Splinter's ear twitches and a slight smile crosses his face as he continues. The others catch on and, either have their attention on him or their phones

Amd Reader has their first performance, there in the sewers of new york, with their friends arguing with their dad about who's turn it is to take the trash out or whether Jupiter Jim 3D the 4th was a sell out or not.

And they cant help but smile at that.

Oh my.. god?? I love this idea so much!

Just. Everyone loving you enough to try and make you comfortable; going above and beyond to set up the stage area, just because they care about you.

Splinter probably knew what was happening. After all, it's the lair; not a ton of places to set up shop.

Knowing how he was as Lou Jitsu, it's likely that he's used the Distraction method before. Get the rest of the cast/crew to focus their attention elsewhere just enough that whoever's in the spotlight can truly shine.

Everyone catching on and continuing to keep their eyes off of reader even though the whole thing was set up to watch them play, because they know that they're more comfortable like this? Perfection.

rise dumps about donnie because I love him and he’s my comfort character.

Headcanon 1!

Donnie has Asperger’s, a “subcategory” on the autism spectrum that makes it hard to process emotions and can lead to repetitive thoughts.

For example? His insistences on using his tech to solve his problems. While it may be a more complicated way, it’s the way he thinks of, and not something simpler. Instead of looking around to get ideas of where he is, he goes to his tech to preform a scan of the room for example. He uses his battleshell to fly up a single flight in an abandoned mall instead of just jumping or taking the stairs.

Headcanon 2!

Donnie was the only one of his brothers to be hesitant about going to the surface of New York. (They’re about 6, 7, and 8 respectively.) The sounds of the city above could be being made by scary, dangerous creatures who would love nothing more than to eat up little turtles like him! “He’s a softshell, he’d be the tastiest and easiest to chew!” He thinks to himself.

It took months to even get him to peek out from under the manhole cover, he was so scared. New things are scary when you’re new to them, doubly so when you’re an autistic child being dragged out of your comfort zone. (I speak from experience.)

His brothers, thankfully, didn’t drag him out into it right away. (They knew from a bad experience with him freaking out about exploring the sewers that it wasn’t a good idea to throw him in the deep end right away.) they started with simple things, like bringing him up near the surface to let him adjust to the sounds. Peaking out from under the manhole cover to get an idea of what’s out there. Sticking a hand out to feel the texture of the ground there, smelling the air. When he leaves, he stays in the alley the sewer cover is in for a few weeks, adapting to the changes and differences. He slowly explores, clinging close to his brothers in case of the slightest scare. Eventually, he starts exploring on his own, losing his fear of the unknown for the most part. It’s still there, deep down, but it’s been repressed and tackled for the most part.

Headcanon 3!

Donnie gets sick really, really easily. (That’s two really’s.) being a softshell, it’s easy for slight callouses to build up on his soft shell under the clamps, seeing as it’s practically just skin. When those callouses crack, illness gets in easily. While most of the time he just gets a minor cold, there are numerous occasions where he will get seriously sick. Because of this, donnie is a major germaphobe. He sanitizes every part of himself when someone coughs in the same ROOM as him. He wipes down every surface used and Adjacent to where he conducted his experiments in his lab. He changes the bedsheets and washes them every few days, and will shove all the personal protective equipment he can on if he suspects he is sick. We’re talking face masks, face shields, thick rubber gloves, everything.

Ones hands can tell the story of how they’ve lived… and how far they have come.

I’m a sucker for Good Dad Splinter ever since I watched TMNT ‘03. That rat was gifted sapience and his immediate instinct was kindness. I love that for him.

Rise Splinter lived a rollercoaster of a life, but as a Hollywood star he remembered the names of all his stunt guys and coworkers, and as a prisoner he cared for the rat that shared his cell. His sons are very close and physically affectionate, I think that says something about how he cares? That’s just how I like to headcanon him :)

It’s interesting to explore the idea that a seemingly monstrous transformation is what pushed him to be a kinder human
