Do I think about it? Not really.

I know some people are against it based on the age gap, but in the grander scale of anime relationships, I think that—so far—it's one of the less problematic ones.

I don't particularly care about age gaps in anime relationships. Going off of Yashahime canon, there's not that much of a difference in age between Towa and Riku vs. Kagome and InuYasha. They're both clearly coded as teenagers, so...whatever. Ship what you ship.

(The SessRin problem lies in the fact he knew her as a literal child, raised her, cared for her, etc; not in their age gap. It's grooming. If Rin had been "close" to Sesshomaru's age originally—both of them being drawn as late teens/young adults—then there wouldn't have been an issue. Their whole dynamic would've been different. But that's not the story that was told.)

Now Kirinmaru and Towa—I'm definitely not here for that one. They're clearly coded (or drawn or whatever) as a child/teen and an adult, respectively, and behave accordingly. A relationship between them would be pedophilic.

The Rin and towa comparison, look at how tiny rins hand is compared to Sesshomarus, I’ve met babies with bigger hands than that, she’s just a child that’s not ok. And the very obvious filter muting the colors onscreen to make towas eyes look closer to rins in color

She’s literally a child and they’re trying to parallel that to a suggestive scene in Yashahime. Even tho rikutowa isn’t romantic they did tease the idea so saying there’s similarities between those two scenes is just gross.

Theyre basically saying sesshoumaru was flirting with a child and that’s just nasty

And Towa’s eyes edited look so weird. That’s not even her eye color 😂 She doesn’t look like Rin so they have to change her eye color, tragic

"You're all grown up now, Lady Towa," Riku warned her in a low, seductive voice. "And you must be careful. One little kiss like that, and we could find ourselves in a very… dangerous situation."

His words were laced with a warning, but his blindfolded posture betrayed a need that made Towa's body quiver with anticipation.

Her voice faltered as she stuttered in response to Riku's words. Towa knew exactly what he meant, but she didn't want to make things awkward between them. Although she couldn't ignore the underlying passion in his voice, she tried to maintain her composure, her voice as smooth as silk.

"You're so serious, Riku," she replied in a calm tone, but her heart was racing. "It's nothing. It was just a simple kiss, a token of my gratitude for your unwavering support."

Her words were meant to be reassuring, but deep down, she couldn't shake the feeling of nervous anticipation that was building inside of her.

With a sense of apprehension coursing through her, she sought out Riku and timidly inquired if he could tutor her in the art of kissing. Riku was taken aback by her query, but he perceived the earnestness in Towa's plea and was inclined to assist her.

"I'm not certain if that's wise, Lady Towa. You are still young, and it's deemed inappropriate for you to engage in kissing." Riku's response was tinged with hesitance as he voiced his concerns.

Towa's reply was barely above a whisper as she spoke with conviction, "I'm aware, but I want to know how it feels, Riku. I have faith in you, so please teach me."

Riku's heart swelled with compassion as he gazed into Towa's earnest eyes, her plea tugging at his heartstrings. He knew that he could not turn her away, even if it meant treading dangerous territory.

Hence, Riku acquiesced, his tone soft and placating. "All right, I'll teach you," he murmured. "But we must keep this hush-hush. No one else can know. It's our secret, okay?"
