Another Meeting Between Kylo/Ben and Rey

Rey, Finn, and Poe are aboard a first order ship for some reason. As their leaving, Rey starts frantically leading them down different paths, sometimes even doubling back. What Finn and Poe don’t know is that she’s sensing Kylo/Ben and trying to avoid him.

Eventually it doesn’t work and they meet. Rey and Kylo/Ben begin fighting, moving farther away from the resistance group who tries to follow. They end up alone in a hanger bay, and at a point where they’re separated Kylo/Ben turns his lightsaber off and Rey stands with her is a relaxed position.

“Rey,” Kylo/Ben starts first. “The resistance is just using you, they only want your power. And when you become too powerful, they will try to kill you – just like me. You’re nothing but a tool to them, expendable.”

There’s a brief pause before he continues. “But not to me.”

Kylo/Ben reaches out his hand.

“Ben,” Rey shakes her head slightly, looking so torn and sad, “Don’t do this.”

“Please,” he says, a low and almost broken sounding plea.

Before anything else can happen, Finn is calling them from a ship that Poe has started that it’s time to go.

Rey turns to look at Finn, looks back at Kylo/Ben sadly, and then leaves with Finn and Poe.

i can’t wait to see the sequel trilogy either. I’ve seen TFA and then experienced secondhand accounts of incredibly fierce reylo drama and that’s literally all i know about it so it’s going to be really interesting to experience without the lens of “BUT THEY WERE A DYAD IN THE FORCE YOU GUYS”

Ch 92 is UP!!

Summary:

Kylo Ren was supposed to go to Jakku to find information on Luke's whereabouts, but the Force-sensitive girl in the slaver's auction was too interesting to leave behind. Rey has only ever known the life of a slave on Jakku, bought and sold from master to master, but the mysterious and terrifying creature who now owns her is like no master she's ever had before.

Chapter 92: A Beep in the Night (excerpt below)

Rey laid awake in her bed, unsure how long she’d been trying to get her heartbeat under control, but she knew if she didn’t find sleep soon she was going to be miserable in the morning.

She just couldn’t believe that she’d said all of those things to Lord Ren. He had obviously not wanted to speak about Visser Ren at all, and she could understand why. Lord Tomaxx had basically forced their master’s hand by mentioning the dead Knight to her, and Rey knew that confirming that he’d killed his comrade—his best friend—even if justified, must have been difficult for Lord Ren. Not to mention reliving those memories on top of it all.

Rey understood why he’d wanted to keep it a secret, because she tried to avoid talking about Nybian for much the same reason: It’s difficult to talk about something you carry so much grief and guilt over.

‘Hugs’ is a WIP that I carry with me for years and apply it on every couple I write but so far, I haven’t gotten around to make any of the idea true. It’s inspired by a scene from Argentinean telenovela called Kachorra where the main couple (that is not yet together) have this personal talk about their lives while a storm is raging during the night.

The woman talks about how she was afraid of storms as a kid and she always ran to hide to her parents’ bedroom where she felt the safest and that her mother always hugged her to soothe her. She also remarks how nothing can compare to a hug a mother can give you (which is very bittersweet for her since her mother abandoned her eventually) and the man offers to hug her as a substitute for her mother.

She accepts it but since they already have feelings for each other, the hug is not as innocent as it might seem. So, when he asks if he hugs like her father or like her mother, she denies both. When he asks her how he hugs like then, she says that he hugs like a man. A man who hugs a woman who is so alone in this world.

That, of course, leads to a very sweet kiss that grows more and more passionate until… they get interrupted (it's a telenovela, after all).

It’s seriously one of my favourite scenes and since my beginnings as a writer are strongly connected with being inspired by telenovelas, I keep reviving the idea whenever I can.

Recently, I thought about expanding the idea with adding another inspiration and that is another scene from a TV show, this time a Korean drama called Alchemy of Souls (Season 2) where the two characters sleep next to each other and the male (confused by his own feelings because he still hasn’t recovered from the death of his beloved and suddenly, he is falling for this new woman in his life but he doesn’t know they are one and the same, but that’s too complicated to explain right now…) kisses her because she hugs him, stays with him and helps him to fall asleep and he hasn't slept peacefully in years.

So back now to the point of the Reylo WIP... Basically, the idea is to use the Force bond between Rey and Kylo to:

bring Kylo into Rey’s environment to share the hug inspired by Kachorra with Rey being the one afraid of storms while Kylo offers her a hug she – of course – refuses but eventually gives in,

bring Rey into Kylo’s environment to help him fall asleep since he is still tormented by the Dark side and she wants to repay him for his kind gesture several nights ago for which he thanks her through a kiss,

make them fall in love with each other so deeply through this that Kylo offers peace talks between the Resistance and the First Order just so he could meet Rey in person,

and well, we all know where this can go, right?

Excerpt

Kylo Ren, Supreme Leader of the First Order, couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation as the dropship carrying him and a squad of elite stormtroopers descended into the planet of Mustafar.

His journey to Mustafar felt to him like a pilgrimage of sorts, visiting the planet his grandfather, the great Sith Lord Darth Vader, once resided.

Yes, he was the Supreme Leader, the de-facto Emperor of the galaxy-- far surpassing anything his grandfather had accomplished in life-- but Kylo still sought his guidance, and his guidance was what led him here.

Kylo had accomplished so much since slaying his master Snoke and taking his place at the head of the First Order nearly a year and a half ago. He had taken the First Order from a nomadic military junta that still hid in the Unknown Regions to heights that rivaled the Empire at its peak. His Order occupied every single major inhabited planet. He re-conquered Coruscant and made his capitol, just as Emperor Palpatine did during his reign.

Yet despite his enormous success, Kylo was still as troubled as ever. The Resistance had gained little ground since he decimated them on Crait, yet they still remained persistent.

The Resistance... led by his mother. Leia. When the moment came before during the attack on the Resistance’s then flagship the Raddus... he couldn't press the trigger to finish her with his TIE Silencer's missiles. He wasn’t sure he'd be able to do it even if given another opportunity. He wasn’t sure he'd be able to murder her like he did his father. A deed that continued to haunt him nearly two years on.

The Resistance... joined by the scavenger. The last Jedi.

She had rejected him and betrayed him after he risked everything and offered her everything. He thought she was different, but she was just like everyone else. Just like Luke Skywalker. Betrayers. Liars. He was not bluffing when he promised his bastard of an uncle that he would destroy her and their precious Jedi Order. All of it.

He hated her. He hated that a part of him still felt everything but hate for her.
