Hey, you know how men have a mentality that essentially breaks down to "all women are sluts except my mother, my daughter and my sister"? I tried to think of a misandrist take to turn it around, but actually I can't.
"All men are scumbags... ESPECIALLY my father...err I'm lesbian and hope I never have a son but even if I did I'd actually teach him to be a decent human being and not a scumbag...uh, my brothers kind of are scumbags. Definitely my uncles tho." And I can go on lol
Guess it proves further that we can't "reverse sexism" and equate misandry and misogyny and that men actually should all stfu and die and Valerie Solana was still too tame. If men were all to disappear tomorrow, I'd actually live my best life without a regret.
Makes me think about this film I've seen which was a ""feminist"" (typically very libfem) attempt at "female gaze" and "reverse sexism" in a world where men would be objectified and such. That just doesn't work and you need some serious brainrot to think that. Also, that was, oh so feminist to have a rich straight white male main character. This film already seemed like a bad femdom fantasy garbage way before I even knew what radical feminism was.

Hey you’re 100% right about not needing to advocate for men as a feminist. Men are the ones who abuse other men. It isn’t the responsibility of feminists to advocate for them. They can solve their own problems. The goal of feminism is female liberation. Men need to collectivize and hold each other accountable for the way they treat each other. It’s literally not our job. It’s fine to be a female advocate for male victims, but there’s nothing feminist about it because feminism is about women. I 100% support you here
Thank you so much nonnie 💓
Well, men can be abused by women. It's totally possible, and it's happening all the time, and that post was talking about that. They are not systemically abused by women though, and if their abuse goes unnoticed, it's because of the gender norms enforced by patriarchy. It's a byproduct of their own monster. If a man comes out and says "a woman raped me", guess who will laugh at him first. Guess who will exclude him first. Guess who will terrorise him to silence first.
These posts, however, are NEVER directed at this group of people, which is men. No. Okay, yeah, let's say men are abused by women almost at the same rate as women are abused my men (Lol I don't believe that in the slightest but let's say it's accurate). So? That statement is addressed to whom exactly? Ah, to feminists. Of course. To prove what exactly? That there is no systemic gender violence against women you silly! Every feminist advocating for gender violence against WOMEN and WOMEN alone is responsible for this under-representation!! The key is compassion and humanity! Love is the answer and All Lives Matter!
LMAO. Cut the BS.

Not All Men: The Movie (2019)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The lesson learned in What Women Want was to treat women like people and to respect them as both people and women. The lesson Taraji P. Henson has to learn is that men are sexist pigs who want to keep women beneath them. This concept really doesn't work in the reverse. In the original he isn't constantly battling sexism and women who just want to hire him for the opportunity to bed him or check off a box. He's battling his own perceptions of women. Also she's black.
Ali gains a tool to help navigate the world as a woman who works in a male dominated field. In the original he gains a burden that helps him understand how his treatment of women affected them. The most important thing she does learn is how to be a better friend to her female friends and the few men who actually like her.
Tracy Morgan's character was never going to let his son sign with Ali for the simple fact that she was a woman the only reason the son does eventually is because he takes charge of his own life. Ali finds out about the secret poker nights that she wasn't being invited to because she is a woman not because of any of the reasons Kevin lists. All the men act like her (headstrong, driven, asshole) but they specifically don't like those qualities in her because she is a woman. Even Kevin, who she partners with in the end is a part of excluding her and treating her differently because she is a woman. Her boss tells her she's only working at the agency because she's a twofer.
There is nothing Ali can do to change these men's opinions of her or women. Misogyny isn't something that can be undone by a woman doing what she knows men want. If anything it makes it worse.
Sure, Ali does learn that not all men are sexist pigs, but mainly she learns that a lot of them are.

yknow there's really something about cishet women who go "uwu no WAY i'm such an ally i love lgbt people :)" and are fans of some white twinks from netflix or ship two anime boys or do kpop rpf for two boy band members or whatever, OR just talk about how much you love your gay man hairdresser or something, and then turn around and look at lesbians and trans women (and sometimes even queer men who don't fit the [white and/or east asian] "twink" mold) as creepy degenerate perverts that they "could never understand"
like yeah. we can smell the homophobia and transphobia off you from miles away. we can see your thinly-veiled disgust from the opposite side of the continent. your "allyship" is pathetic if it only includes those that you find sexually palatable or "similar enough" to yourself. does my armpit hair bother you, queen? do my short hair and boobs and cargo shorts threaten your understanding of society? happy pride you're such a great ally :)
honestly the same thing goes for transphobic wlw. i legitimately don't believe you for one second if you say how much you love butches or whatever and then turn around and say that trans women are "predatory" or "mocking womanhood" or "perverts" or something. you sound exactly like the above cishet women talking about lesbians.

Look 👀 Anyone is free to disagree with me on this and give me their reasonings, but I’m pretty sure these three things can’t exist. One, misandry. Two, reverse-racism. Three, heterophobia. Why? Because for these to exist, an opressed class would have to hold systematic power over the opressor class. Gay people commenting how straights are eww because we’ve lived out lives overwhelmed with straight media and homophobia from straight people… is not compared to the gay panic law, nor homophobic hate crimes nor the deaths that have come about just because a person is gay.
The same thing with misandry. Women, all women, are the oppressed class. Some more than others, of course, because class, race, home and sexuality all come into play. However even the richest white woman in the US living in a red state is oppressed and has less body autonomy than men (via lack of abortion rights). Some questions to prove whether systematic misandry is real or not:
1. Can you name 1 country where the entire government is female?
2. Can you name 1 country in the world where women kill more than 3 men per week?
3. Can you name 1 female led country in the world where it is illegal for men to drive a car or have a driving licence because they are perceived as too stupid?
5. Can you name 1 female led country in the world where men are not allowed to leave their houses without a female chaperone?
6. Can you name 1 country in the world where females in power have legally dictated that men should cover their entire bodies at all times, not show their hair or faces, and punish men and boys who do show their skin?
7. Can you name 1 female led country or community in the world that has legally banned boys from getting an education or attending school?
8. Can you name 1 country where large groups of women publicly flog and beat men as a form of punishment for being seen out alone without a female chaperone?
9. Can you name 1 female led country where the child marriage of boys as young as 6 years old to adult women is widely encouraged or legally allowed?
10. Can you name 1 country where men are not allowed to take part in sports at all?
Those are ten out of 37, the original article has more but massive TW for sexual assault and abuse.
Since there isn’t systematic misandry anywhere in the world and we still live in a patriarchy, I don’t think misandry can exist. Any prejudice against men doesn’t have power over them, nor does it affect them in any way (besides maybe their feelings), so how can it be harmful?
My Mom could easily be discribed as a misandrist ngl. We were looking at flats for me and she had come choice comments that were gruesome and out of proportion for what would happen if I had mixed sex flats. However I don’t think it can count as misandry because she’s seen and experienced enough harm by men that it crosses from needlessly rude, to wary and overcautious. Harmful to her mental health? Yes. Harmful to men? No.
One can absolutely be rude, cruel and judgemental towards men… but that is all reactionary to lived experiece and read experience. Or at least that is how I see it.
*I do not by any means support being rude and cruel, violent or abusive, towards ANYONE. Men included. I dislike my Mom’s way of thinking and I do not seek to replicate it. This is just to prove that misandry is a term used by men’s rights activists to put down feminists and women.
Lastly:

Funny how like 90 percent of people wanting the wilds back hate to acknowledge the fact that it's partly their fault. I want the wilds to be renewed as well, however if I DARE say yall aren't ready for it and a small part of me thinks some viewers are undeserving I'm the bad guy. Right because the vast majority of you didn't openly admit to skipping over the boys parts in the show, smh. If you arent watching the whole episode why would they want to renew it? They want views, they want money. Do I want the wilds back? Of course. Do I think the gretchen clones deserve it? No. Be better.
#just say you hate men and quit pretending it's 'only because streaming sites hate women/wlw'#you guys LITERALLY THREATENED the actors who played the boys just because they took a job in a show they thought was cool#right and you think you deserve the show to be renewed#you arent ready for that conversation yet though proven time and time again#was it only because of that? absolutely not but dont be so willing to place the blame when we blatantly see where some problems come from#am i annoyed that my replies have been deleted on some the wilds post JUST because i said i didnt mind the boys storyline?#yup#live with the consequences of your actions#the wilds#i want the show back but some of you were really nasty just because a man existed and thats not cool#in the words of waverly earp 'reverse sexism is still sexism wynonna'#shoni was cute leatin had potential but you dont get to be a horrible human#there were so many reactors skipping the boys parts or just saying things just because the boys existed and i cant watch them anymore now#THATS LITERALLY WHAT THE SHOW IS ABOUT#the show is literally about the effects misogyny/the patriarchy has on women and men#if you actually watched the show for it's content you would see that#gretchen is the bad guy for going to extremes and subjecting children to trauma just because she doesn't like men so quit acting like her#I'm not sorry for saying facts#if you're offended you might be the issue so lets take a look at that#the whole the thing is boys vs girls so why in tf would you think they wouldnt at least be brought up a little like in s2#ugh#i still hate amazon for canceling it

"Black people not liking white people and having a negative attitude towards white people in response to the racism perpetuated by white people is equally as bad as white people viscerally despising black people and seeing them as subhuman for no good reason because all racism is equally wrong"
and
"Women not liking men and having a negative attitude towards men in response to the sexism perpetuated by men is equally as bad as men viscerally despising women and seeing them as subhuman for no good reason because all sexism is equally wrong"
Are the same argument. If you can see the problems with one, then you should be able to see the problems with the other.

every time a man gets proven innocent in a court of law, there's a sexist backlash shitstorm against him, if it were a woman people would automatically believe that she's innocent, there's something very wrong with that

Follow up to my feminism ask: in the US, white people kill each other more often than they kill black people. But black activists aren’t expected to care about that. Because it isn’t their problem. They focus on violence against blacks people motivated by racism. Just like feminists focus on male violence against women motivated by misogyny. Feminism is pretty unique in the way people expect the victims to advocate for the problems of their oppressors
Oh I mentioned that in my previous answer! The all lives matter BS. Imagine telling a black man in the States that he should show compassion for all the white men killed by black criminals. LOL. Just imagine, please. I'm wheezing at the thought. I'm sure there are people who tell them that, unfortunately.

"Reverse misogyny" stories are not the progressive, feminist power move you think they are, especially not when you expect your readers to be happy and content with the status quo presented by your story. Biological essentialism and sexism are never going to be progressive even if you try to dress them up like they're feminist. They're just not.

A very certain brand of CR fan can’t seem to get it through their heads that Ashton is not a man.
Ashton is non binary.
I see y’all’s posts trying to label Ashton as a man to score points in unimportant fandom discourse, or shipping drama.

you know men always got so mad about captain marvel because it was “sexist towards men” and crying about how “what if the roles were reversed” but I know damn well that if the roles were reversed these little dick motherfuckers would eat that shit up, and women would ignore because guess what there’s already 8000000 movies with that exact premise

The way "you are kenough" still praises men for the bare minimum
#putting it down know but elaborating when I wake up#but the way the Ken song is about him expecting more even tho he has nothing to offer#And the end of the movie was like. it’s ok if u have nothing to offer we love u anyways#and not even that. he had nothing to offer EXCEPT misogyny#that Barbie had to fix#and he was still given a reward by not getting KILLED#dramatic but it’s getting my point across#Barbie was pathetic bc it was literally white women keeping the status quo as is#like it was surface level but looking at the material results of everything#barbie chooses to go into a patriarchal world where she gets to be real ok cute#the other Barbie’s stick to Lalaland cute cute sure#kens get a tiny bit more rights than they used to have despite. literally everything they did#like it’s reminiscent of real life where barbie has this great epiphany and realizes who she is outside of not only the patriarchy but even#the societal level of barbieland but like. irl nothing happens#which is interesting bc barbieland is a worlds reversed thing#and smth about capitalist company joking about the kens going to far with wanting a vote when the kens are the equivalent of womans rights#and obviously not a 1:1 ratio but like. crazy. idc about misandry but like in this universe the ‘misandry’ is supposed to be a mirror for#usual sexism and the end result of that was soooo weird#it’s giving mens empathy/lonliness epidemic yknow#and crazier is that it’s a very white feminist movie anyways like they copy paste woc but those voices are very much not present#like the equivalent of Ken ending is bimbo feminism#and again. before y’all get mad bc some of u can’t read this isn’t a 1:1 ratio but like. idk it’s weird to me#and again. for reasons stated up above im not saying misandry is real I’m saying the takeaway was weird#bc the takeaway still benefits men. ok girls broke up with boyfriends bc they saw their boyfriends being misogynistic about this movie#sure whatever. how many of y’all broke up with ur boyfriends for relating to Ken and calling themselves kenough?#this is articulated badly but these base thoughts up for refinement tomorrow#or whenever I feel like it#or never#or if someone asks I love answering questions 😍#or again. never
