THE POWER OF CARTOGRAMS:  These two maps both depict the results of the recent senatorial vote in Georgia. They both have the same color scheme for the margin of victory per county –– a continuous blue-red scale.
But the cartogram on the right graphically depicts the demographic proportions involved and thereby explains how Warnock could win while victorious in only 30 out of 159 counties.
The cartogram really illustrates the power of people's votes. I wish the press and news media would use more cartograms, since it is so hard to understand the demographic realities from a conventional map.

I'm in Georgia and if any of my fellow Georgians are going to do early voting, please, please, please, check the polling station dates and times on your Georgia My Voter page. They keep changing things and you don't want to take off work and then find out that early voting was closed that day or closed early or whatever and you won't get to vote because your boss or bosses won't let you take off again so soon. We need every vote we can get!
I’m not in Georgia, so this is added information to the voting post. Please go vote in the runoff election on 12/6.

I often say that a vote is a kind of prayer for the world we desire for ourselves and for our children. Voting is faith put into action.
…democracy is the political enactment of a spiritual idea, this notion that each of us has within us a spark of the divine, that we were created in the image of God; and if you’re not given to that kind of religious language, that’s fine, our tent is big. Simply put it this way - each of has value, and if we have value, we ought to have a voice, and the way to have a voice is to have a vote to determine the direction of your country and your destiny within it.
I know that the days are still difficult, the times are dark, but the light, the scripture says, shines in the darkness and the darkness overcometh it not.
- Reverend and Senator Raphael Warnock

Brian Tyler is always a good watch. His program is pretty solid with breaking down legislations that have passed, and the technicality of the language.
The predictably thing about republicans is that they don't care who the candidate is, or their morals - and hershel has a massive scandal trailing his name, among the controversies of his lies, and the lies atop those lies, and his "honorary" sheriff certification (which is a plastic star like you get in the kids section of the gift shop).
Hoping not just that the turnout for Rev Warnock is solid for a reputable individual who advocates for lower costs on pharmaceuticals, and who has been an advocate for farmers in the Georgia state. And here's to hoping people turning out to vote, are allowed to vote.
Georgia is deep south, and there are a lot of fuzzy, white Q-tips who want a pretend sheriff to take a seat and check the smudge words on his hand for what to say and how to vote come the passing of legislations and bills to reform.

I said it in the tags super early this morning but I think it’s worth making an actual post
I’m super disappointed in Georgia. I know it can’t be all wins all the time, and Stacey Abrams getting elected governor was still a long shot but I had hoped that enough people voted to give her a real shot. I wanted her to be governor so bad, I was so looking forward to it.
And honestly, the Warnock/Walker race being this close is even more upsetting and distressing because Hershel Walker was just about as unqualified as Trump so clearly we still haven’t learned our lesson here in Georgia
I was so elated and hopeful when we went blue in 2020 and won the senate in our run off, I’m still hopeful, we’ll likely have another run off and hopefully we can come out and show ourselves as blue again. We’ve still got a lot of work to do Georgia but I believe in us

one great thing about living in Georgia is that for the last few years, local conservative political ads tend to make their opponents seem much cooler than they actually are, to a truly comical degree. "RAPHAEL WARNOCK IS GOING TO KILL AND EAT THE FILIBUSTER" do you promise? 🥺

It’s not the best letter ever, but 25 senators signed off on a ceasefire letter to Biden on 2/14
It’s not the best, but it is so much more than we have been getting. Calling is WORKING. Protesting is WORKING. DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE!

Quavo, who lost his nephew and fellow Migos member Takeoff to gun violence last year, is turning his grief into action.
The Grammy-nominated rapper and philanthropist joined forces with the Community Justice Action Fund to meet with members of Congress in Washington, DC on Wednesday for a panel discussion on gun violence prevention.
Led by Georgia Sen. Reverend Raphael Warnock, the panel discussed effective community intervention strategies as well as gun violence in Quavo’s native Georgia and the power of art and culture in anti-gun violence advocacy.
Kudos to Quavo for using his grief to become empowered!
