Y’all IK we won the senate and it’s definitely important to celebrate, but if you’re in Georgia please, please, please vote in the runoff on December 6.
If we can get 51 instead of an exact tie it will give us a little wiggle room. For the past two years, a lot of the improvements Biden has attempted to make haven’t made it passed the Senate because one or two Democrats voted no and that was all it took; if we can get Georgia too, one Democrat can vote no and the legislation will still pass. The more seats we have the better chance we have for serious, meaningful change.
Please vote December 6th.

Why are people that surprised Herschel Walker conceded and isn’t kicking up some fuss about “voter fraud” or stolen elections? The guy is probably happier than anyone that he lost.
Imo, crazy as he is, at some point in the last couple of months he realised this whole senate run was a bad idea and/or he was being used.
Probably it was the combination of all the dirty laundry and not wanting to spend 6 years in a job he’s clearly under qualified for.
Might explain why he basically took the entire Thanksgiving week off, but Warnock was still out there campaigning every day. It certainly wasn’t because he wanted to spend time with his family.

People, being blue that the Georgia senate race was close is strictly optional. Consider first that Ossoff and Warnock flipped the state from two Republican senators to two Democrats (a progressive Jewish guy, a progressive Black guy) a year ago, that voter suppression continues to be an obstacle for Black voters, and that Georgia just elected a minister who carries on MLK's vision from MLK's own Atlanta pulpit, a man who supports climate action, abortion rights, and LGBTQ rights--and voting rights. To me, it looks pretty wonderful and like it gives us all the option of rejoicing. In other words, don't snatch defeat from the jaws of victory unless that's really your favorite flavor, and if it is your favorite flavor perhaps ask why. Georgia hadn't had two Democratic senators since 2003. Hadn't had one since 2005--and that was long before the current era of massive voter suppression and Supreme Court killing off of the Voting Rights Act had happened. Meaning that winning was much easier then for a candidate supported by Black voters, and of course part of why these victories were possible is Stacey Abrams's great work for voting rights in recent years--and all the GOTV work that happened. It really does confound me that so many people are posting--and one even wrote to me--to focus on the fact that lots of people voted for Walker. Biden narrowly won Georgia two years ago, meaning lots of people voted for the thug. We know this. That Republicans get votes is not news. Is this response just the habit of dwelling in the safety of gloom? Because this morning it looks like seeking out something to be gloomy about when there are other options, and ones I believe serve us better in doing the work we must do. It's glorious and gorgeous in a "when hope and history rhyme" way that this particular Black man, heir to MLK, also won the whole damn senate for the Democrats--that he is the one who's why Democrats will now be the majority on all senate committees, that there's a true majority, not 50 + the v.p. For judicial appointments and so much more, this is a great thing, and Georgia now has its first full-term Black senator, along with its first Jewish senator. Ever. So much we face is indeed hard and grim that we should celebrate whenever there's occasion, and this is definitely one.

Looking for a fun way to support Senator Warnock in this critical runoff election (and to REBUKE Walker and the entire GOP apparatus that supported him)?  Are you also a fan of online auctions?  Well, have I got the link for you! Before the 2020 run-off, “Romancelandia” (of which I am barely a peripheral participant, but they are open and affirming to all) raised literally hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Warnock and Ossof run-offs. And while some of the euphoria of those wins was dampened by the events later that same day, the *results* were still critical. Walker is about to find out exactly how much his 48% of the vote was riding on Kemp’s coattails but even more importantly, we’re about to show Senator Warnock how much we want to keep him in office. Donate if you can, bid if you can, share if you can’t. And remember, there are other ways to support a campaign without donating, including phone banking, voter education, and just ASKING your friends in the State of Georgia to get out to those polls one more time.

Georgia...
Go vote.  Senator Rafael Warnock will continue to work with President Biden to lower drug prices. That’s helpful to us all.  Senator Warnock will also preserve Social Security.  His opponent will not.
The choice is clear. Vote for Senator Warnock. We don’t need another lunatic in the Senate who will work to dismantle what took over a century to build.
PS - Watching a 21st century “Sleep n Eat” turns my stomach.

Georgia Oopsie! “Pro-Life” Republican candidate for the Senate, Herschel Walker, has to explain why his ex-girlfriend has the receipts for her abortion that he paid for and the check he sent in her “get well” card. The voters in Georgia still might send him to the senate because their pro-”family values” stand is only for show anyway.

If Raphael Warnock pulls ahead today, something I could realistically see happening is the Georgia secretary of state refusing to certify the election for either candidate. "There's just too much confusion right now, too many unknowns, lots of concern over voter fraud, so it would be imprudent to accept the current counts coming out of Atlanta at face value." The legislature would meet to further restrict voting rights under the guise of 'tightening election laws,' and then schedule a special election to coincide with the 2024 general, with the governor appointing Herschel Walker to fill the vacancy until then.
I hope I'm wrong, but I have a bad feeling about this.
