As much as I liked the Darknights bits in Episode 13, on the whole I found it pretty frustrating, because it kinda devalued every storyline from Episode 12.

Amiya once again gets an arc about generational Sarkaz bullshit. The Revenant is barely mentioned, despite being a really damn big deal.

What about the Dukes? Last chapter has shown that they are willing to become more involved in the conflict, and now that their forces barely avoided getting hit by The Shard, surely we will get more from them? Nah, the Duke of Windermere probably holds the record for the shortest amount of time it took an established character to die, the biggest impact her forces did was GTFO-ing for the sake of Siege's arc, and the most the other Dukes managed was finally lifting their asses and telling us to tune again in half a year for Episode 14, where they maybe will do something. Maybe. Probably.

Speaking of Siege, remember all the introspection she did in 12? Morgan's realization that they aren't some heroes of legend? Who cares! Let's go full superhero comic, complete with hyper aggressive fighting, deep wound in a polluted area with no consequences, being given a convenient banner to rally people around, and even returning a fallen friend we knew for a week and mourned deeply!

…Baird who? Her buddy Delphine doesn't even get a line connecting her to Glasgow, let alone actually include her with the group in the archives. Nice CG with the real heroes, though!

Last time we saw Paprika she was with Manfred, one of our main antagonists. Will we learn more about him? Will it have some kind of effect on her? LOL. LMAO, even.

Remember all the soul searching Damazti did? How the climax of the chapter was their death? Forget it, we got not one, but two of them, complete with reset personalities!

Obviously, this means we don't get more insight from them about Golding, and Heidi is long forgotten by the narrative, but look! Lettou's arc is hitting rock bottom, perhaps he can spare some thoughts for his old friend he drove to suicide? Maybe even do some elegy about how it ties into Gaul's fate? Nope! His catalyst is actually some rando with a dementia (which I loved on a thematic level, but, you know *gestures at the list*).

Even Ines, who frankly barely did anything in 12, got her injured state completely ignored in favour of telling us Hoederer got a haircut, so that she could do some acrobatics atop a flying skeleton a few days later. But hey! They actually acknowledged her big moment of jumping from the airship, now that's a progress!

#Arknights #in case you are wondering #ep 12 is one of my absolute favs #i put it on the same level as 6 and 8 #but then ep 13 got things like Siege and Damazti #and it felt sooo cheap #Darknights trio hard carried the whole thing for me #Vendela's story was good #but it bothered me how we got her chapters back to back #when the gimmick of the episode was juggling different POVs #Delphine would be compelling if she wasn't reduced to Siege's sad sidekick #Horn and Misery were welcome #but once again i hated how they ended as vehicles for Siege's arc #Reunion's side was a bunch of nothing #we saw all of that elsewhere before #i guess it introduced a new long-lived guy?#i'm sorry i don't have any reason to care for him at the moment #and Sanguinarch just. wouldn't. shut. up.#he overstayed his welcome #by the time we fought him i was mostly just rolling my eyes

decided it was time to start Survivor playthrough and !!!! I was right! we are Sibling!!!!!

Immediately seeing at least the one difficulty change in the food dots. And I think this is where we started in the other file but I'm not 100% sure

so i had a crush on this girl for like a long time, we were really good friends. she was like,, nice, funny, loud and extroverted. we were pretty close, so we would hang out almost everyday and like we would share drinks, hold hands and stuff like that!!!

im not a super physically affectionate person but she LOVES physical affection, so she would be the one to kinda initiate that type of stuff but i never minded it

like once i was sitting down and she practically sat on my lap LMAOO i was rlly flustered 💀

but recently i moved to australia, so i had to leave her (we still talk tho!!)

and like, we were never super serious/sappy types? we would always joke around with each other and bully each other playfully. but on my last day, she gave me a letter that was just genuinely rlly heartfelt and it made me cry 😭😭⁉️ so i went up to her and i didnt rlly know what to say. but like after a few moments i just hugged her really tightly (and this is pretty big bcs i don’t initiate affection much) and she hugged me back and told me everything was gonna be alright (also big bcs she barely ever speaks seriously or like not in a jokey tone)

BUT IDK the story just kinda sounded like a movie to me LMAO

WHAT THAT'S SO COOL THOUGH 😰 it's kind of like eyes how babies sometimes have light irises and then once they get older their eyes are so much darker it's crazy

As much as I like reader-inserts having a shitty ex and them choosing to move on from a previous toxic relationship to heal and start over again, I still want to give GL!MC the unique position of being the shitty ex lol, mostly because I do believe some shitty people could still grow out of their toxicity and that it isn't always so hopeless finding love really.

#pen rambles #green light #when i was initially writing gl i had a whole backstory thoughtout why their breakup with bakery girl was horrifying for them #but i scrapped it bc it was sort of like a side story #besides i was already subtly bringing up issues outside mc and shin's reunion that might turn off some people haha #so bringing up that breakup might be a detraction #but since i'm expanding gl i think it's okay to bring it up at some point #i really think i'm gonna turn off a lot of readers if i ever write mc's backstory #esp where shin's not in it for the most part......#but at the same time i do want to write why they behave the way they are and where the trauma actually comes from #ngl i always wondered if i confused/annoyed readers a bit whenever mc overreacts or gets triggered too easily in the earlier chapters haha

As much as I’d love to see a C3 adaptation, it would be really hard to adapt into an animated series with the streaming standard 12-ish episode length seasons

Compared to the heroic epic of Vox Machina, Bell’s Hells is more of an ongoing mystery. Mystery stories are built on gradual reveals and discoveries that add on to each other and get more complex. The pacing and build up are key.

So you either start at the beginning of the campaign and have a first 12 episodes that feel anticlimactic compared to the group who killed a dragon in their premiere, or you start somewhere in the middle and have to cut out/change the order of so much build up that the payoff feels like nothing

In the unlikely event Campaign 3 ever got adapted, it would really need the old school 24-ish episode season to really thrive

#cr3 #the existence of a mid-season finale would also make it easier for them to include the dorian arc #But if they decide to cut that they could focus on Imogen as the main and build up to otohan being the climax #with most side focus on Laudna so that her death and ressurection feel more meaningful #And of course give enough focus to Fearne for her parents to feel impactful if their story with the nightmare king can't be moved #FCG we mostly just have to spend enough time with their personality for thei reveal to work #With Orym as impactful as him realizing this is the person who killed his family was #that's also something that can work as a later reveal #we don't find out about Will until Orym has been killed and he sees him in limbo #their reunion would tell us everything we need to know about their relationship #and things like him talking to derrig's spirit would be enough foreshadowing for the dad #and then Orym's explanation later can be to the group #OR him saying 'we found their killers' to Dorian as a reveal #if timed properly #I also kind of like the idea of the earlier arc being skipped #but still showing Orym messaging Dorian #so that new viewers can be like 'who is he talking to? what's the deal there?'#and Dorian is a bit of a reveal for later

So on one hand rereading all this MCU fic does make me wanna finish, edit, and publish the fic I had so much inspiration for back in, oh, summer of 2016. On the other hand, it turns out I just completely forgot about some characters from AoS, which is fine because I don't need them in my fic, but like this is just reminding me of how I don't really wanna rewatch that show.

#Problem: My fic is a crossover from the Iron Man movies (love the bots) and the Thor movies (love all the non-fridging parts) but there's a #side fic that is a Howlies family reunion. Which means Captain America movies‚ Agent Carter show and short‚ like two seasons of AoS (Tripp #lives‚ duh) and the Iron Man movies.#Like.....#I wish I was innately good at voice so I didn't feel the need to study.#Forever mad that the MCU did NOTHING about all the 90 year olds Steve would have known in the 2010s except to make us cry over Peggy Carter #and then kill her.#_MY_ grandfather was a WWII vet and he didn't die until COVID at the end of 2020.#Anyways there's Antoine Triplett and Sharon Carter and apparently Morita's grandkid is the principal of Peter Parker's school but I haven't #seen those movies and because I say so there's Rebecca Barnes and Ana Jarvis and of course Peggy Carter.#My fic contradicts itself on if Angie (Peggy's romantic partner of course) is still alive. At first she wasn't and we had a Widows Corner #but then later I wrote she and Peggy being cute.#Anyways the character I forgot existed in the MCU was Bobbi.
