The Great Con-junction was an amazing experience and the most fun I’ve had in a while!

I didn’t get to take as many photos as I originally wanted to, but here are some pics from the museum!!

Not gonna lie I almost cried seeing these babies in person lol

Sorry I couldn’t get good pics of Deet, I swear she didn’t look this saturated to the naked eye but because of the purple light I couldn’t get a good angle 😭 she is cute nonetheless though!!

And if you wanted to know what Aughra and Fizzgig look like without hair, today’s your lucky day! (I didn’t think her head was this goddamn big but wow 😂)

And of course two of the evil bird bastards themselves

And my personal favorite, the real Wall of Destiny!!

There was so much more to marvel at; clothing from the fashion line inspired by the film, Gelfling and Podling headsculpts, fabrics used for Gelfling clothes, it was all wonderful and surreal to look at!

It’s also worth noting on the second day LISA HENSON walked in while I was there, I didn’t want to bother her but needless to say I was FLOORED

One way I am entertained about the bad news for trans people in the UK is this whole business of "if a trans student is distressed by the idea of using the bathroom of the sex they were born with, they must be given a third bathroom, single occupancy, locks from the inside"

First because the conservative British government has just invented a third gender for the sole purpose of adding construction restraints and expense to the requirements for schools

and second because this is going to be so vulnerable to the "'calling in gay to work" form of protest. In solidarity with their friend, some group of students is going to announce that they too are transgender and as such need to use the single-occupant locker room. The entire sport period will be taken up by people changing in the single-occupant locker room. With a bit of luck, this can be extended into missing maths as people change back out of their sport clothes in the single-occupant locker room. Numbers will be bolstered by students who don't care about the issue but don't like sport, or maths.

#I went to the lynching museum in Alabama last year #which - excellent and very impactful museum and feel free to quit part way through #but one detail that has stuck with me is of a blond boy grinning behind his sign about how he's not going back to school #so long as there are Black kids at that school #and his entire demeanor is very much that of a boy who's found an excuse to not go to school that his parents endorse #kid doesn't have a political thought in his body but he understands skiving off #and like. that too is an aspect of resistance!#tagging for negativity #Nimblermortals Senf
