Originally it was Merlin who brought them all together, Arthur, Gwen, and the Round Table Knights. But they all moved up in the world while Merlin stayed a servant. He’s depressed and lonely but… let’s face it, Merlin would never leave them voluntarily.
So when he does leave, it’s not voluntary (but I’ll leave it up to the imagination whether anyone else knows this or not).
Regardless, without Merlin there, fractures the others never realised existed between them started to crack wider, until everything was on the cusp of collapsing.
The only thing holding them together right now is their unified goal to find Merlin and bring him home.

You know what would be cool? If in TFP, Megatron’s flagrant use of dark energon to revive whole swaths of cybertronian battlefields (the ones on Earth from presumed 6 years ago) actually has consequences and that the Autobots couldn’t get rid of every single zombie. How cool would it be if MECH came into the story preprepared with cybertronian knowledge if THEIR inciting incident in TFP was because and aimless zombie bot wandered too close to civilisation only for it to be handled by MECH and Silas gets a free corpse to study (and reference for future use)?
Idk but if you’re gonna start your pilot by including zombie hordes as your main plot I think it would actually help theme your series around that and the shit that happens afterwards-

More S4 thoughts about Billy chilling in his little house on the beach in Cali (the one he bought outright with his government hush money, of course), until he hears the news of the whole 'earth opening up and a ton of weird shit' happening again in Hawkins. And at first he smirks, glad that he's out of it, glad that all he has to worry about is how many entitled little shits he's gonna have signing up for surf lessons this month, and whether or not he set the VCR for Knight Rider.
But then he hears about Max. And it's mostly whispers and rumours, but it's enough to have him jumping in his car and racing the whole way back, barely stopping to sleep or eat, screeching into Hawkins and then storming right into the emergency centre, asking anyone and everyone for information on his sister, getting more and more worked up as he hears nothing but the same repeated lines about the 'proper process' from people who call him 'sir' and wave him away with pitying smiles.
And it's been a while since Billy got angry. He hasn't needed to, for the last few months. But it soon comes back to him, the familiar red mist falling over his eyes, as he stands in the middle of a row of cots and bellows at some poor soul brandishing a clipboard and a sign-in form.
And that's when Steve appears from out of the makeshift kitchen, summoned by the commotion. He's got a ratty dishtowel slung over one shoulder, and a smear of peanut butter on his cheek, but there's a calm, authoritative confidence in the way he rests a hand on Billy's shoulder, and says,
"C'mon, man, yelling at Gloria's not gonna get you anywhere. You got it all outta your system now? Good. So how about you come with me and help me finish up these sandwiches and I promise I'll explain everything."
And Billy does. A little sheepishly, he follows along and sits in a snug little backroom where Steve hands him a sandwich and a steaming mug of cocoa and, true to his word, he explains it. Everything. And Billy takes it all in, wide eyed but without saying a word -although he can't stop himself from gasping in shock when Steve talks about what happened to Max- and he's damn near shaking by the time Steve's finished, so Steve takes hold of his hand and squeezes it and says, so firmly, "She's getting better. She's fighting, every day. And you know how stubborn she is. Hey, must be something in the Cali water, man, cause, uh, you're also in damn fine shape for someone who died."
And there's no tact there, no gentle easing into it, but that's exactly why Billy's next gasp is one of laughter.

NEW ZEALAND - Celebrate WWD 2024 at Matuku.
Celebrate World Wetland Day this year by visiting Auckland’s largest mainland wetland! Matuku Link is holding our annual open day and wetland celebration on the 3rd of February 2024. With two family activities every hour, guided tours on bugs, birds, eels, flora and fauna, and local conservation groups to chat to, you will have plenty to do all day. While you are here, look for our local pāteke (brown teal), spot a secretive spotless crake (pūweto), and keep an eye out for our cryptic namesake, the matuku-hūrepo (Australasian bittern). See how much Matuku Link has changed since its beginnings in 2016, with over fifteen thousand volunteer hours spent improving the place, two new boardwalks, and a Wetland Education Centre.
There will be an all-day market with gifts, food, art, crafts, information, and entertainment. Stallholders in 2024 include Forest & Bird Waitākere, Birds New Zealand, The Entomological Society, Whitebait Connection, Kauri Rescue, Auckland Council Biodiversity, Auckland Zoo, Pest Free Waitākere Ranges Alliance (PFWRA), Sue Beesley’s Honey, Bethells Beanz coffee… There will be home baking, a barbeque (vegan and non-vegan) and so much more.

Spotty dog (my dad won her first me at a fair ground shooting range when I was three at the Christmas fair! I’m at least her second owner, we always go to that shooting stand when it’s there and all the teddies are donated by people)

Diplodocus (I recently won him on hook a duck at my family’s home town’s carnival)
Hilda the orca (she’s from IKEA!)
The pug of love (a Valentine’s Day themed pug that I bought at a second hand stall)
My little tabby cat that I got at the last May Day fair from a cat rescues teddy tombola (recurring theme here)
