We put some of our bunnies in sweaters.

Bear: Green Sweater, his brain shut off for a bit and then he ran around and did some binkeys.

Rascal: White Sweater, she was more receptive than I expected. Escaped the couch and then gave it some sniffs.

Morgan: Red Sweater, enjoyed his time in his sweater.

A/N: I changed it from a pet store to an animal shelter, I hope that is ok. Thank you so much for the request anon! I hope you enjoy! ❤️

"We have two litters of puppies at the moment, a set of terrier mixes and another group that is probably a mix of lab and german shepherd," Mary, the shelter volunteer says as she leads the three women through the kennels.

It has taken a while, but Wanda and Y/n were finally successful in convincing Natasha that Liho needs a friend. They had considered getting another cat, but having a dog is something that Y/n has wanted her entire life.

Her parents never allowed her to have a pet growing up, despite her begging for a dog since she was old enough to speak.

Natasha and Wanda are so tightly wrapped around her finger, Y/n only had to ask once and they immediately agreed.

Thats how they ended up here. In the animal shelter, they walk through rows of pins, each filled with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Most of the dogs wag their tails and barking excitedly as the group passes.

They come to a stop in front of a kennel with five black and brown puppies inside. "These are the shepherd mixes," Mary says as she opens the kennel door, so the women can go inside to pet and play with the puppies. "They're around 8 weeks old. They came in with their mom about a month ago."

One of the puppies jumps into Natasha's lap and gives her a big, slobbery lick on her cheek. Her two girlfriends try to hold back their giggles while she grimaced.

"They are all great dogs, friendly, playful," Mary nods her head in the direction of the smallest one, "that little brown one is a rascal though."

Y/n reaches out her hand to pet the puppy in question. He lets her pet him twice, then decides he'd rather wrestle with her, playfully nipping and pawing at her hand.

"Here," Mary opens the kennel door for them to exit, "the other litter is down here."

The four of them continue their trip down the rows. They look into the pins as they pass, and they can't help but smile.

As soon as the dogs catch sight of them, they stop their playing or eating or even sleeping and run to the doors. The women get their full attention as they paw at the kennel doors excitedly.

All except one.

"Who is this?" Wanda asks coming to a halt in front of a particular kennel on the left. She was the only one to spot him since the others were looking to the right.

The other three stop and turn to the cage she is pointing to.

Inside lays a golden retriever, clearly much older than the other dogs. The fur on his face has all gone white. The fur on his paws and tail have also begun to lose the tan color of the rest of his fur. He slowly raises his head when they stop in front of him.

"That's Fluffy," Mary sighs.

"Fluffy?" Natasha raises an eyebrow with a smirk.

Mary chuckles, "my niece named him when he came in.”

Fluffy rises from his bed in the corner and approaches them through the kennel door. His slow movements betray his age.

"How long has he been here?" Y/n asks, kneeling in front of the dog to greet him.

"7 years," the volunteer opens the kennel, but doesn't bother closing them inside. The poor thing is too old to try and take off. "He's our oldest current resident."

Fluffy sits between the women, soaking up all the attention he can get. His tail wags slightly at the pets he is being showered with.

Wanda looks up from the sweet dog, "how old is he?"

"12, part of the reason he's been here so long. He's the sweetest dog, but most people want a puppy or a younger dog who can actually play with them. Fluffy spends most of his time laying around and sleeping."

Natasha scratches under his chin, and he leans into her touch, "how did he end up here?"

"Was he abandoned?" Y/n asks.

Mary smiles sadly, "no, thankfully not abandoned or abused. He had a great home, but his owners died in a car wreck. They didn't really have family to take him in. So, he was brought here. We've been trying to find him a forever home, but no luck."

Fluffy lays down, placing his head Y/n's lap. She strokes his head gently, feeling like she has finally found the furry friend she has been begging for her whole life.

She looks up to her girlfriends, hoping for some kind of approval. The three of them look to each other and they all know.

They found the one.

Natasha stands and begins speaking with Mary about the adoption process, while Y/n and Wanda sit with Fluffy telling him about his new home and his fur sister, Liho, and how he is going to be cared for for the rest of his life.

"Here we go."

15 minutes later, Wanda holds the shelter door open while Y/n exits with a leash in her hand. They both coax Fluffy out of the door and onto the sidewalk outside.

Natasha and Mary follow close behind. The volunteer holds out a bag for Natasha, "here this is for you."

"What's this?" the red head takes the bag and peaks inside. There's a stuffed animal, several chew toys and a couple blankets.

"It's for him," Mary smiles, "some of the volunteers liked to give him presents on his birthday."

She kneels in front of the dog to say goodbye. "You're finally going home buddy. I think you're gonna like it there; you hit the dog-mom jackpot.” She gives him a final kiss and chin scratch, “you better behave. I told them you were a good boy, don't make me a liar," she playfully scolds before standing again.

"We'll take good care of him," Wanda promises.

The volunteer smile, "I'm not worried. Thank you so much for taking him in."

"Come on, Fluffy," Y/n scratches his head and lightly tugs the lead.

They wave goodbye, and the three women begin the walk to take care of their first order of business: take their new fur baby to the pet store and spoil him rotten.

Fluffy walks along between them, wagging his tail happily. After 7 long years in a shelter, he is finally going home, with a family he will have forever.

Three moms who are going to love and spoil him for the rest of his life.

He must be the luckiest dog in the world.

Cat Needs Home in FL

I LOVE HIM but he is driving me insane. More specifically, I already have 4 cats and they Do Not Want one more coming around.

Tuxwood was someone's cat but he got dumped in the apartment complex. He's now mostly indoors. He uses a litterbox, gets in cat carriers easily, and adores the couch. He will babysit you in the shower. Sleep on top of you. Play with you. Purr loudly enough to sound like orcs marching. Neutered w 3yrs rabies shot.

He eventually gets used to other cats, very slowly. He wants to be #1 Cat. It's best to not have other animals. He gets nippy when overstimulated, so I'd advise not to have kids around him.

He has dreams. So do I. Mostly of him finding a home in FL. Message me about him!

If you’re new here, meet Hudson! Hudson (AKA “Huddy” or “Huddy Buddy”) is our lobby boy who lives at our adoption center.

He comes with many hidden ailments that are all being very well controlled, until back in May when he was rushed to Animal Emergency Hospital as he was struggling to breathe.

X-rays showed an enlarged heart and slight fluid build up around his lungs. He was responding well to the heart medication, then sent home with this medication. Two days later, he was having the same symptoms and was brought back to AEH.

He, again, responded well to the in house medications, and felt much better after being on oxygen. They added a third heart medication and he was sent back to us. He has been doing well since then. He was not allowed to exercise or get his heart rate up for 2 weeks.

He is our mascot and has been a staple of Second Chance Cats of West Michigan since day one! He is a true fighter, but we need help to get him through this. Anyone who knows or has met Hudson, knows he is the best boy and he loves to greet people, get attention and, of course, his obsession with food. Please help us get him back on his feet. His life-saving emergency visits costs $2700. His echocardiogram will be around $390, and he will be on life-saving medication for the rest of his life.

Any amount helps and if you are not in a position to help financially, a share can go a long way.

So much has happened back-to-back these past few weeks that I forgot to post some very important news on my bunblr: there's a new bunny in the house! Meet the 9 lbs, 11 oz high-energy Jammy! ❤️

I've been looking to adopt a boyfriend for/to bond to Toto. I hadn't heard a response back on my application with a local rescue when I saw a post in my town's FB information page of someone rehoming a male rabbit because he kept fighting with the person's other rabbit.

The truth of it all ended up being that Jammy's owner was some kid who even admitted that she knew nothing about rabbits; neither rabbit was fixed, which was why they were fighting, and she was feeding both a seed/muesli mix (not good for rabbits) and kept the one in tiny hutch, and the other (Jammy) in a tiny, wire bottom cage, outside in a yard with multiple dogs, cats, and chickens.

Day 1 of bringing this beauty home and we established that Jammy is a GIRL and that she is incredibly sweet! This baby spent 2 years in cramped conditions, with poor "food", nothing to do, and had very little interaction. We set her up in a large xpen with lots of fresh hay and water, her own potty pan, toys, and blankets and she couldn't stop the kisses and binkies! She is absolutely precious and playful and wants attention 24/7, so much so that she whines and stomps at you if she's not being paid attention to, or if you-heaven forbid-stop petting her for a millisecond.

Of course, our goal is to get her spayed ASAP to prevent uterine cancer, and cut down on her naughty hormonal behaviors that have come with being a goofy handful. Unfortunately, the first appointment we can get with our exotic vet isn't until August of this year. But other than that, she appears to be healthy and free of mites, infections, or sickness! She will still be bonded to Toto in the future and I think she has the perfect playful personality that will match with the Bean(tm)'s. It will be a hilarious juxtaposition to have one giant black bunny bonded to one tiny black bunny! 🤣

And so 3 becomes 4...Welcome home, Jammy, March 25, 2024.
