Did you all think I would go quietly into this week without writing about the journey to Klaus Mikaelson’s return to the TVDU for the Legacies series finale?

I was a bit (super) disappointed the cancellation took the wind out of some of the first promising story lines in Legacies for almost two seasons...

Legacies' plot in the past few years may be shit, but season 4 is getting much better. I can't understand why they cancelled the show when it started to get better.

i think we need to actually consider the importance of canon marellinh, if that truly is what shannon meant to do (this does have to be taken with a grain of salt, since shannon is known for accidental queercoding.) after all these years of joking about the seemingly implied queer shit between the characters, to actually get something canonical? especially when a lot of us on tumblr are lgbtq+ in some way? it means so much and I genuinley cannot describe my feelings on it. to be in this fandom for years and all of a sudden have this? holy shit. even more insane when you consider a large part of the fandom is christian, many of whom are or have parents who are homophobic. this is a big move from shannon, and I genuinley cannot wait to see if it was intentional.

What elseworld would you create for Dick/Zatanna if you were in charge of writing a comics run about them?

my thought process:

lau's brain: idk I'm so attached to their young justice version... kind of don't want to change-

lau's brain: NOIR! NOIR! NOIR!!!!

so. yeah. a noir genre inspired elseworld for them, which is not cliché at all.

the jokes about dick being a private detective are low-hanging fruit so I won't do any. instead I could change his way-too-obvious role around. lately I've thought a lot about investigative journalist!dick for a WIP of mine, but that's more or less in the same vein lol. maybe something that flips things on their head and makes him the tricky homme fatale with a secret heart of gold asking for help xDD

zatanna would still be a famous magician (playing it up as if these are really just tricks, promise!), maybe investigating a series of magical occurrences. those come to affect the wayne family somehow (in this universe not vigilantes, but relying more on influence and a mix of money, hard and soft power to stir the city where they want it), specifically bruce, which leads to dick looking for help and finding it in zatanna (cue the same instant attraction he displayed in YJ, BECAUSE).

since this would be yj-adjacent with Chalant present, I'd include the original team, although I'm not 100% sure of what I'd want their roles to be. I think Wally as the private (NOT AT ALL broody and hardboiled) detective could be fun though.
