- i am EXTREMELY nervous and shy so I apologize if I tend to be awkward with any interactions with anyone

- I may be shy but I don’t mind getting asks, I actually kinda love getting them wither it be answering actual questions or getting doodle requests

- I absolutely love and adore making gifts for people especially if I consider them a friend so gifts for others should be a fairly common sight

- I tend to go for long periods of time without posting, it’s not because I feel I need a break or because I have artblock (may possibly be the case at some point actually) but it happens because I just have a genuinely hard time getting my ideas on paper

- if you ever want to send an ask but your Nervous or I seem scary please know I’m quite harmless and I don’t mind getting asks, it may take me awhile to respond but do know It’s nothing against you and I either just haven’t checked my notifications yet or I’m just taking awhile to type my answer (possibly also drawing something to go with it)

- I am extremely apologetic so I apologize if that gets annoying, I’m just a strong overthinker and I get overwhelmed by it easily which leads to me apologizing a lot for very small thingys

- unreasonably anxious and overly sensitive, if your going to be rude to me please at least be straight up, I can’t tell if or when someone is being jokingly mean and that causes me to overthink and become stressed

- I am very forgetful, some things leave my head instantly so I need to be reminded of things multiple times

- I have horrible grammar and spelling, autocorrect loves to fuck me over so I’m sorry if a sentence ever comes out wrong on accident

I usually make fanart for whatever fandom I’m in at the moment but there’s a rare chance I may share if stuff and or original story’s I’m working on, most of what I post is doodles but there is a rare case of fully rendered art. I might post kinda gorey or body horror and genuinely just spooky art one day and if I do I’ll definitely put a warning and try my best to tag it properly, I enjoy making sorta cutesy silly shitposts most the time and I tend to get sorta extreme with my facial expressions lol. I’ve been drawing for technically all my life really, I’m not the best but I’m very devoted to art and designing characters and story’s, my art tends to have heavy shading and overall a sort of dark atmosphere and that’s just due to my immense love for horror and spooky vibes

So. My interest in crafting a variation of Scarecrow that leans into the "violent dancing" aspect aka turning him into more of a physical threat has also somehow spiraled into making him the leader of a fear cult. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So it all started with some dc wiki perusal and, at the mention of his violent dancing style, the page linked to the wiki entry for drunken boxing. I don't know why this is tbh, but the ideas started percolating. Now, I wouldn't apply any of the styles 1:1 to Jonathan because I don't think it'd be suitable; he wouldn't be like Jackie Chan in the Drunken Master, etc. The general conception, however, is very appealing:

It's unpredictable. Disorienting. Pretty ideal for someone who enjoys dishing out some delicious fear. But one of my fave parts:

I like the idea of him appearing unbalanced even when he's not actively engaged with an adversary. Because someone standing there looking like they could fall over is just a fun and potentially unsettling gimmick. Of course, this would also mean he has killer core strength. As much as I like ghoulishly thin Dr. Crane, this version would have muscle. He'd still be an ectomorph body type though so definitely more wiry and flexible.

Going from there, I started pondering on designs which would facilitate a more active fighter. My idea is very derivative of the Arkham Asylum version followed by TNBA Scarecrow and Arkham Knight designs for vibes. Looser/less clothing, more practical than spooky (unfortunately). My version of his mask is more horror movie to accommodate that. I asked myself what scares me and that's mortality and body horror, so some skull elements were definitely used. I'd love to go more into detail about it but it'd be better to have a doodle to go with my atomic level rambling on design choices. Initially, I veered more towards a medieval executioner feel, but it 1. was before I was like "okay but what if he had a cult" and 2. didn't mesh with the fighting thing. I guess. I kept it though since his look changes with a single article of clothing and it works with the whole life and death theme I have going. I call one look the Shepherd (has a hood, sickle with long handle as a "shepherd's crook" for weapon) and the other the Executioner (mask only, full on scythe mode). This would make more sense with drawings, though I'm not much of an artist. (Ｔ▽Ｔ) I'll still try though. Soon.

I don't know where the cult idea popped up from. Maybe it was the God of Fear comic storyline? Maybe it's all the shitty darksynth with ominous pipe organ and satanic chanting I listen to??? Anyway. The general idea is college professor Jonathan Crane would really like funding for experiments related to fear, but no one is interested. Somehow gets the idea to start some secret society (named something edgy and cool like Eye of the Crow Order) based on, you guessed it: fear! The concept would be making individuals stronger mentally by forcing them to confront their fears. And other philosophical bs. At least on the surface. Jonny boy really just wants willing participants in his experiments but shhhh they don't know that. Induction into the group would involve being injected with a weaker form of the fear toxin or something. With time, more people join in. People who want to get hit with the fear toxin again would prob get subjected to higher dosage or a more experimental variant.

The turning point is after he's fired for, you know, the whole shooting a gun in a classroom thing. He kidnaps those responsible and decides to make a spectacle of their murder during a meeting of the secret society. This causes massive division within the group and a double or nothing scenario; people who aren't cool with murder and craziness obviously bail out, but those completely devoted to the "doctrine" go all in. And so begins the era of Scarecrow and his fanatical cult following.

This version would have no need to hire thugs. He has his "flock" fully willing to carry out his vision. The most committed of them (his "Disciples" perhaps?) are probably those who volunteer for multiple occurrences of fear toxin experimentation (and live through it) which has left them a bit unhinged and probably very dangerous. These are the ones which would likely also get shipped to Arkham if caught. But yeah, the cult angle is great because it adds an element of intrigue (is this otherwise polite Gotham citizen part of his cult??) and it makes Scarecrow a bit more threatening not only to Batman and the Batfam, but to the other rogues. Can't imagine some of the latter would be very keen on dealing with zealous cult members if a team-up was orchestrated.

As for Jonathan, the whole thing starts as a front just to get bodies to experiment on but, after huffing enough toxin over the years, he starts fully believing he is the Master of Fear and deserves to be worshiped over it. ALSO. He has a nice, tidy murder of crows. He gets all of them to mimic the sound of creepy laughter and say "hroo hraa" :)

I know it is the end of the spooky season but would any of your OCs enjoy dressing up for Halloween and what in your mind would their costumes be?

I am almost too late to post this in time for "spooky season" woops, been a busy week/day, you know the drill! Thank you so much for this ask Raven, it made me grin and start giggling like a little kid as I started thinking about all of this hehe. Alas, I don't have enough juice to do any doodles to go with it so I'll just be using descriptions and a handful of screenshots where I have specifc ones in mind to hopefully illustrate :3

Off the top of my head, the Ahaszaai twins are both absolutely dressing up for Halloween!

Kas would go all out, I'm talking a proper fancy, handmade costume. She'd probably go for one of the classics like a demoness, and would 100% "over"do it compared to everyone else. Ya girl done made her nails up all fancy with red rhinestones and they look hella ✨aesthetic✨ but incredibly impractical for actually you know....holding things. Ex: (link to the artists Insta by clicking on the picture, I don't claim to have done these I'm not that coordinated or talented with nail art LMAO)

(I have these saved specifically as "Kas way overdoing something for Aesthetic and/or Intimidation factor and I feel like they'd go really well with an OTT Demoness costume for Halloween ngl - she's probably made horns to match and everything. Andronikos has been roped into a couple's costume as a devil or Hades or something, to sell the look and he'll do it without complaining because holy shit does his wife look hot *wink wink* haha)

Saarai would dress up in one of those classic tacky vampire costumes - but she owns it so well that she somehow pulls it off? Reason for the vampire costume being that when she and Koth were still sort of in the "awkward trying to be nice to eachother" phase, he once asked her, with all seriousness "so you don't drink people's blood?" and Rai has NEVER let him live it down since. She's a tacky ass vampire every Halloween from then on, Koth isn't sure whether to laugh or cry anymore and Lana goes to bed early every Halloween to avoid getting involved in whatever ridiculous inside-joke-annoying-prank thing her partners clearly have going on. She does NOT want to know LOL Rai has also 100% gathered up every kid on the Oddessen base and is 100% chaperoning them while they go trick or treating <3

Aria would dress up too, not with the express purpose of scaring people OR going trick or treating but just because she'll use any excuse to show off and be extra as hell. She's got a whole tuk'ata-themed armour set (which tbh she probably wears sometimes even when it's NOT halloween....) and because Chwûq and Taral tend to follow her around and are almost as tall at the shoulder as Ari is at the waist they end up being a pretty convincing Tuk'ata-Cerberus. Vano doesn't dress up but she does tag along to try and mitigate some of the frights that unsuspecting passersby would get in seeing three tuk'ata heads appear out of nowhere XD

Do you read fanfics? What's your favourite trope? Which fandom do you read most for?

I do! I read them a lot (often before sleep to distract myself from everyday life...). My favorite trope is probably friends to lovers and I lovee angst and hurt/comfort. I mostly read fanfics for whatever I'm currently watching/reading (and haikyuu, it will always have a special place in my heart).

If someone saw you across the street what do you think their passing thoughts be?

Good question. Tbh I have no idea how people perceive me (and I really wish I did!). They'll probably notice that I'm rushing first, I almost always am.

Do you know how to cook? What's your favourite thing to make? On that note, what's your favourite thing to eat?

I can only cook some basic things, so I don't starve when there's nothing cooked at home. It might seem weird but I like to make fried eggs - it's quick, easy and low-key fun to make lol. In the kitchen I mostly bake, not cook, as it's something my mom taught me. And I love it!

My favorite food is pasta, I could eat it in different shapes and forms every day. I also love chocolate a lot, but sadly I can't eat too much of it.

Do you believe in the supernatural? Have you had any spooky experiences?

I don't know and I don't really care. Maybe it exists, maybe it doesn't - doesn't make a big difference for me. I don't think I have had any really spooky experiences and if I did I didn't care enough to remember.

Have you been sleeping well lately? What has been your average sleep hours for the last few days?

Oh I certainly haven't. With the amount of school work I have, I've been staying up late quite a lot and even on the days when I go to sleep at a normal time, I stress over upcoming days which makes it harder to actually fall asleep. I've been also waking up earlier than I need to and not being able to fall back asleep, which is extremely annoying. My average has been around 5 and a half hours, but yesterday I slept almost all day because I'm sick.

Did you have an imaginary friend in your childhood? what were they like?

I did not (if I did I don't remember it anyway), so I can't really talk about this.

What's your favourite seasoning on food? Are you picky about seasonings?

It really depends on what kind of food it is, but I love the basics: black pepper, basil and herbes de provence. I'm not picky about seasonings, the only one I kinda dislike is rosemary.

How do you deal with academic/work stress? Do you have a coping system/mechanism?

I don't. What I do with academic stress changes depending on what and why exactly I'm feeling, and what I have time for. Most of the time I have to plan when and how I'll do everything and drink a ton of lemon balm tea.

Do you have a favourite mug/cup/glassware/cookware?

I have a few favorite mugs and plates - they're my favorites, because they're the simplest and I prefer dishes like that for everyday use. I still can appreciate pretty mugs and cups when I have time to sit down and enjoy some good beverage though.

Have you travelled a lot? Would you like to in the future?

I have been to a lot of (really amazing and beautiful) places in my country, but I haven't travelled a lot worldwide. I'd like to visit some places abroad, but I like the cosiness of familiar things a lot.

Have you gotten into anything because people around you had started getting really into it? Did you enjoy it? Are you still into it?

Yeah, I got into a lot of things like that. That's how I started watching anime and reading manga - and I'm still really into it. If I didn't enjoy it I wouldn't really get into it in the first place. I think it's a very fun way to discover new things, especially if it's from your friends or other people who you know have similar interests and taste to you.

Do you doodle a lot? What is it that you doodle most?

I doodle a lot in class, but it's mostly just random shapes and lyrics, because I can't draw well, so I just get annoyed when I'm trying to just doodle something and it doesn't look how I wanted to. I wish I had time and determination to practice and learn how to draw (it's somewhere on my to-do-when-you-have-a-bunch-of-free-time-on-your-hands list, right after learning how to cook more complicated things and learning sign language..).

Do you wear glasses? If you do, when did you get your first pair?

I do, I truly got the worst traits from my parents :'). I got my first pair when I was 8 or 9, but they were only for reading things on the blackboard in school (I'm short-sighted). I got my first glasses that I wore every day when I was 10, I remember it was right after Easter.

Haha... I really couldn't keep up with the challenge. It was my first one, so I'm gonna try to do better the next time! It was mostly because of school keeping me busy, it's really a lot.

These two weeks have been really busy, but they also made me realize I don't actually miss being so caught up in work, that I don't have time to worry and that time passes much faster - it does but it's not worth it with the amount of stress I still have time to experience.

The spring is finally here! It makes me really really happy. I missed seeing the sun everyday, I missed the birds singing and everything else. It's not really warm yet, but at least I'm not freezing in the mornings anymore.

dylan minnette. cismale. he/him. — did you see { alex mercier }, i haven’t seen the { twenty-one } year old in a while! you know, they’re a { musician }, and have been living in jersey city for { twenty-one years }. some say they're { cynical & indecisive }, but i think they're { generous & talented }. regardless, i’m glad { alex } is here.

backstory

aaaaaand in the door to the right we have trash son #2, alex !! ( woo ! ahh ! ) you can find his dossier page HERE, his biography does not exist yet ( i’m gonna kick my own ass ), and there is a pinterest board for him HERE.

ok so boy is a middle child through and through LOL. his dad is a writer who also works as an english professor at new york university, meanwhile his mom works in human services helping people who have fallen off their track in life and stuff.

alex is essentially a male carbon copy of his mom in appearance but his personality is 100% his dad’s lmao

his siblings are a wanted connection !

also his household includes a deaf cat named shrimp that alex literally fished out of a gutter when he was 14. she’s his baby despite the fact that he’s mildly allergic to both cats AND shrimp ( i r o n i c ). here’s the instagram of the cat i’m saying she looks like

real mundane middle class life. there have been highs and lows like any other family, but there’s no tragedy here folks ! that comes later and has nothing to do with his family !

his dad was really into rock music and playing the drums when he was younger cuz wow the 80s and really wanted at least one of his kids to have good taste in music, so he kept the drum set and all the old records despite the fact that they were just collecting dust in the garage . . . until alex came along !

first was the drums, then it was the guitar, then it was being dual-enrolled in both the band and choir classes, and then, finally, it was starting his own band with 2 friends at only 11 years old

his dad got real lucky cuz alex clearly loved music, and he considers the 80s to be legendary.

i'm gonna revisit his music in a moment cuz we gotta start getting into the tragedy that i mentioned ! so alex was like a really chill dude when high school started. he was a bit of a pretentious hipster bitch, but he was chill. he didn’t really say no to things ? like if something or someone just fell into his lap, he’d roll with it and didn’t really think too much about the consequences ? he was a big stoner and lost his virginity and probably way too young of an age because of it. he just didn’t really Care too much lol

he was essentially that quiet stoner that played his guitar in the courtyard and didn’t pay much attention to anything going on around him

. . . unless he overheard you talking about something that was stupid or he didn’t agree with. then he’d butt in to be like “l o l that’s wrong !”

then he met molly ! if you’ve read chloe’s intro for bobbi you know molly ! we love molly ! molly was cute in that girl-next-door way and she was funny with good taste. it was hard for alex not to fall in love with her, really. they were friends first before they started dating, and it was through her that he met all of his current ride-or-die friends. he had never been good at making them, so she was a blessing for his social life. she was amazing. he loved her, his parents loved her, they were good. she was good and then she was gone. just like that. a car accident in which she wasn’t even the driver.

to say the loss devastated him would be an understatement. he shut down completely. he stopped hanging out with friends, stopped playing guitar in the courtyard; his presence in class was like that of a ghost. nobody ever knew what to say to alex before, and it was twice as true now. he just sort of Existed for the remainder of junior year, throwing himself into his studies instead of ever really taking the Time to Deal with it all.

it really hit him like a truck when summer hit and it was at this point that his parents forced him to start seeing a therapist.

his therapist recommended he use his band and music as an outlet, since that seemed to be his healthiest coping mechanism. ( see, i told you we’d get back to that ! ) taking this advice, he threw himself headfirst into it. like, he got really into his band. it’d been a bit of a hobby between friends before, and sometimes they worked small gigs, but now alex was also trying to produce them on a bigger scale. this helped him through his grief tremendously, especially because if felt like he was doing molly proud.

alex was 18 and had graduated when all this hard work paid off. after releasing a self-made ep entitled after molly, the band started gaining some serious traction. we’re talking getting featured on spotify’s indie hits lists and their fanbase skyrocketing in size from the couple hundred monthly listeners it had been. suddenly they were getting booked sold out indie gigs left and right all across the manhatten area. it was nuts and it is still nuts. they even have a well demanded

they’ve put out a 2nd ep since the initial takeoff and are now working on a full blown album ! exciting !

so, yeah, that’s definitely an exciting exchange for being utterly heartbroken i suppose. its been years since molly passed now, so he’s okay now for the most part. he still gets sad sometimes, and he still has all the pictures they took together and all the cheesy playlists they made for each other saved. she’s always gonna be the first girl he was ever in love with,, and i don’t think he’s yet to have a serious relationship since her, but don’t worry about him just being a clay jensen 2.0. my boy is faaaar from that and he’s had his grace period, y’know ? he good.

personality

loves to debate and argue semantics. will always play devils advocate even if he agrees with you 100%. also will go on for hours about the political climate and existence if you accidentally get him there

a bit antisocial. he doesn’t really know how to, like, approach people ? and then when people approach him he has a tendency to rub people the wrong way with his lackluster people skills

tries to go to parties and bars and stuff sometimes because that’s Normal, right ?

a ride or die pal when you do manage to befriend him though ! would drop e v e r y t h i n g for his friends and loves to spoil them relentlessly. the type to randomly show up at your house in his 3,000 year old mustang and take you to lunch or just go driving.

big ole hufflepuff

he’s not really that super free spirit that he was before molly passed. now he actually cares a more about his actions to the point of being lowkey paranoid, honestly. like he’s always wanted tattoos but he constantly second guesses what he wants to get cuz he doesn’t wanna be the guy that got a shitty tattoo, y’know ? so he hasn’t done it at all

cynical boyyyyy. he’s one of those guys that’s like “i’m a realist, not a pessimist”. definitely doesn’t have a whole lot of faith in others outside of his friends and family. will always assume the worst out of people and question their motives

thinks of himself as really boring. not in a self deprecating way, but a factual way

hobbies include music, video games ( he does streams of him being shit at pubg on twitch sometimes ! ), watching movies ( horror specifically is a favorite ), sitting on his roof at 3am to look at the sky, going on walks when there’s nothing else to do, and aggressively frowning when his car breaks down in the middle of nowhere

seriously he really enjoys horror. halloween is his favorite holiday even though he isn’t really big on candy or dressing up. he just thinks the spooky aesthetic is real fun and its cool to see what everyone else is doing

he’s a skeptic on all things supernatural so all you boogaras better snatch him up !!

Under the cut because I get really rambly.

1. Name Age and Country?

Name’s Lin Rinku, an “adult” from the Philippines. Mabuhay. :v

2. Appearance?

The character to the right is Smoke, my OC based off of Jack. :v

3. Hobbies?

I love to draw, I have @linrinkuarts to post all that to; it’s what I do when I’m not sleeping so much. I also like to surf the internet if that’s something else. :p

4. What is your dream job?

I’d hope to have a job involving the activity I like to do the most, drawing. May it be freelance or somehow finding a job in a company/business of sorts.

5. What kind of shit would we find in your bag?

Pens, notepads, phone and wallet. I used to bring a lot more, a bunch of other art materials, but I learned to not bring too many things when I go out since I don’t use so many things all the time.

6. How would you describe your personality?

A silent but kind listener who tries their best……. I don’t know how to describe myself, what are words.

7. When did you find Jack’s channel?

I honestly don’t remember because I don’t recall those kind of memories to a T with specific dates, even if we’re just looking for a year. But I do know that I found Jack through one of Mark’s videos, “Speedrunners: Fun Times GUARANTEED!,” so probably 2, 3 years ago? So like, 2014 or 2015. Yeah, sometime after I started watching Mark, I started to watch Jack.

8. Put in order your top 3 favourite Egos!

Anti, Chase and… Schneeplestein? Tbh, I haven’t been as involved with the community/invested in the other egos since I’ve been busy.

Anti because I like the fact that Jack put him in, gave the community fun. Anti also inspired me to make my own character [and a bias I have for Anti is that Jack reblogged one of the first of my Anti drawings, asking if that “Is this my dark version? Haha Jackantisepticeye?“ JackAntisepticeye he said].

I like Chase’ character because of his… backstory? I guess in one way to look at it, him having family problems is a “joke” to contrast the bodacious and seemingly happy mask, but I take his sadness seriously.

Schneeplestein because there’s something more about him. I know that could most likely go for the other egos, but eeeeeh, you know.

9. Favourite/ most nostalgic video/series of Jack’s to watch?

The Beginner's Guide is one of my favorite videos from Jack. I used to have that playing in the background when I drew after I watched the whole video, so it brings back memories of a few drawings. Another is That Dragon Cancer. I also do the same, have the video playing in the background while I do things, though not as often as The Beginner’s Guide. For both of these though, I always look forward to Jack’s ramblings, those inspirational and mind questioning words. Always nice to listen to those.

As for a series, I guess The Last Guardian, Until Dawn and Tales from the Borderlands. I enjoyed the stories of the games and play them in the background too. I super enjoyed The Last Guardian the most though, the connection between the character and Trico was wonderful.

A SPECIAL SERIES are the fangames Jack played, especially Jackventure because I played the game before he did and it was cool to see his reaction, and Jacksepticeye’s Paradox because of his reaction to the end game.

10. Would you describe yourself as an active member or a quiet member of the community?

As of late, a quiet member. I haven’t watched Jack’s videos as often as I did before, mostly because I’ve found so many other neat YouTubers/streamers. I still watch his videos every now and then when I’m bored of other YouTubers for a while or when I see something interesting. I also draw jse related content every now and then.

+1 Favorite Anti moment?

I honestly don’t remember specifics, so I went through a list by @ego-surveillance-squad / @purple-finch of Anti’s appearances. I'M SO SORRY | Detention 返校 - Part 2, around 3:44. “Forgotten or just too afraid to remember” was an interesting line from the game Jack intertwined with Anti.

Another would be the 2nd Pumpkin carving video, “SAY GOODBYE,” because Anti like... Legit confronted us? Not just like the little spooky moments in the facecam, but full on. The editing there was amazing, too.

And for a less specific moment, I can say I enjoyed his appearances in Five Night’s Sister Location, where he first showed up. I think I remember myself playing and pausing the video on my phone countless times to look at the glitchy frames, hyping about his actual appearance in a video.

While I did mention those videos, I generally enjoy all of Anti’s appearances, inside or outside of YouTube.

+2 Do you own any merchandise?

I only have an Antisepticeye hoodie that I was lucky to get [as seen in my doodle]. Even if I’m considered an adult, I have no experience whatsoever with online shopping, so I had to ask my mom if I could get it. It took a month or so for the jacket to arrive, but it was a wait I was willing to… Wait for.

+3 Made any friends in the community?

I’ve made a few friends before through the community [especially through my OC based on Jack], when I started out. We don’t talk as much as we did, but I still treasure our friendship.

+4 Something you like about Jack?

I could go on about how humble and nice he is. I’ll just say that his laugh is always a treat.
