I know it is the end of the spooky season but would any of your OCs enjoy dressing up for Halloween and what in your mind would their costumes be?

I am almost too late to post this in time for "spooky season" woops, been a busy week/day, you know the drill! Thank you so much for this ask Raven, it made me grin and start giggling like a little kid as I started thinking about all of this hehe. Alas, I don't have enough juice to do any doodles to go with it so I'll just be using descriptions and a handful of screenshots where I have specifc ones in mind to hopefully illustrate :3

Off the top of my head, the Ahaszaai twins are both absolutely dressing up for Halloween!

Kas would go all out, I'm talking a proper fancy, handmade costume. She'd probably go for one of the classics like a demoness, and would 100% "over"do it compared to everyone else. Ya girl done made her nails up all fancy with red rhinestones and they look hella ✨aesthetic✨ but incredibly impractical for actually you know....holding things. Ex: (link to the artists Insta by clicking on the picture, I don't claim to have done these I'm not that coordinated or talented with nail art LMAO)

(I have these saved specifically as "Kas way overdoing something for Aesthetic and/or Intimidation factor and I feel like they'd go really well with an OTT Demoness costume for Halloween ngl - she's probably made horns to match and everything. Andronikos has been roped into a couple's costume as a devil or Hades or something, to sell the look and he'll do it without complaining because holy shit does his wife look hot *wink wink* haha)

Saarai would dress up in one of those classic tacky vampire costumes - but she owns it so well that she somehow pulls it off? Reason for the vampire costume being that when she and Koth were still sort of in the "awkward trying to be nice to eachother" phase, he once asked her, with all seriousness "so you don't drink people's blood?" and Rai has NEVER let him live it down since. She's a tacky ass vampire every Halloween from then on, Koth isn't sure whether to laugh or cry anymore and Lana goes to bed early every Halloween to avoid getting involved in whatever ridiculous inside-joke-annoying-prank thing her partners clearly have going on. She does NOT want to know LOL Rai has also 100% gathered up every kid on the Oddessen base and is 100% chaperoning them while they go trick or treating <3

Aria would dress up too, not with the express purpose of scaring people OR going trick or treating but just because she'll use any excuse to show off and be extra as hell. She's got a whole tuk'ata-themed armour set (which tbh she probably wears sometimes even when it's NOT halloween....) and because Chwûq and Taral tend to follow her around and are almost as tall at the shoulder as Ari is at the waist they end up being a pretty convincing Tuk'ata-Cerberus. Vano doesn't dress up but she does tag along to try and mitigate some of the frights that unsuspecting passersby would get in seeing three tuk'ata heads appear out of nowhere XD

Some notes:

Gonna take the stance of "ability" being the Force ability that they're most well-known for rather than just the Force as a whole because. That's not "extraordinary" in and of itself in the SWTOR universe xP Click the ability name for the Wookieepedia page in case you're not familiar with the Force ability itself and want a refresher/explanation! :3 For Saarai, it's psychometry and for Ni'kasi it's Force-walking

Also feel like it'd be more fun to answer these in-character for a change so that's what we're gonna do! 😊

Alrighty now that we're on the same page, onto the questions!! :'DD Under a cut bc it's a long post, no specific warnings needed other than spoilers for the Sith Inquisitor storyline if you haven't done it, some swearing, and some mild implied angst <3

11. Have you ever had an embarrassing moment while using your ability?

Saarai huffs softly, her jaw spurs rattling in embarrassment as she ducks her head and mutters. "Lana and Koth promised not to tell anyone!" she whines, staring at her own shoes for a moment, before begrudgingly looking up to answer. "...Yeah, okay. Fine. I'll admit it." the Pureblood shuffles her weight from one foot to another, arms crossing over her broad chest. "Sometimes I forget to wear my gloves, so it can be pretty embarrassing when I pick something up or touch something and all of a sudden I'm bitch-slapped with a torrent of Force visions about all the blood and death and shit that the thing was connected to. Usually I'm er...I'm better at planting my feet and pushing through it but...." a distant look enters her sulfur-yellow eyes, and she trails off for a long moment as if Saarai were somewhere else entirely. If you're observant, you'll notice a shudder of discomfort work its way through the Pureblood's normally-sturdy frame. "But Nathema...that was a whole different beast. I didn't think- Gods, I never wanted to cry like that in front of Lana or Koth but it all hit me at once and I just couldn't help it." It might be best not to press her for more details, whatever she saw in those visions, it clearly was upsetting for Saarai.

Ni'kasi, however, remains quiet at first. Her eyes scrutinise you closely, as if she's trying to decide whether she can get away with giving away information that might make her 'vulnerable'. A soft breath huffs from her nostrils, and she shakes her shoulders out before admitting, her face blank and unreadable of any sort of humiliation or sheepishness that might give away how she really feels about the story she's telling. "....I suppose, the first time I tried to use it. The first time I fought Thanaton. That's what I get for trusting Zash at her word, it never happened again, and it never will. I got cocky, and figured I could handle far more power than I was prepared to." more quietly, she mutters. "Mother was right, as usual. Should've listened to her." her impassive mask of an expression does crack, then, as she flashes a sharp-toothed grin. "Fucker's deader than the ghosts in my head, now so...tell someone about Darth Occulus' greatest fuck up, or don't. Nobody's going to believe you if you do."

15. Would you ever choose to trade your ability for another?

Again, Saarai goes quiet. For a moment you wonder if she's heard your question at all, but when she speaks up it's clear she had, it was just something she genuinely had to put a lot of thought into for a moment. "....You know what? I don't think so." she shrugs, letting out a mirthful laugh and seeming to shake off the melancholy that had taken hold of her moments before. "Listen, as much as not being able to touch shit without gloves on can suck sometimes it's...it's something that's always been there, y'know? It's a part of me, just like the Force is. I think I'd feel like I wasn't whole if I woke up tomorrow and the psychometry was gone."

Ni'kasi doesn't even hesitate before she shakes her head. "No. Not for anything in the galaxy. It was a difficult ability to master, but it...gave me a connection to my family, my mother in particular, that I'm not sure I would've had without it." she smirks, thinking of Thanaton, though her lips settle into a smile that's far more fond as she carries on talking. "I could've found a way to kill that bastard without it, but...having mother there to talk to, even now, is nice. Makes me miss her a lot less than I did before I learned to Force-walk."

27. If you could give your abilities to one person for a day, who would it be?

Saarai's answer this time is far more immediate, and her voice raises perhaps a little more than she means it to in her vigor to convey her point. "NO ONE!" seeming to realize that such a loud outburst might have startled you, she coughs, spurs trembling again, and when she speaks again her tone returns to its normal register. "Look, I'm not even sure if this is something that you can just learn or...or give to someone else. I was born with it, as far as I know. But even if it was possible, trust me, I wouldn't want anyone else rushing into this. It seems cool on paper, and as much as I'm used to it now and wouldn't get "rid" of it, seriously...it gets old real fast. When it's helpful, it's helpful but when it sucks? It really sucks. The constant fear that some weapon or object you pick up is gonna be a metaphorical brick to the face, the nightmares in your sleep...You don't want this."

Lady Occulus folds her arms behind her back, raises her chin and stares down at you, hard. "Why?" she asks at length, trying to parse out why you're prying into that particular question. "Who wants to know?"

(Author intervention (for the actual answer since Kas isn't gonna give it 🤣) : She might entertain teaching an apprentice she trusts, buuuuuttt she'd have to be certain they wouldn't turn on her and use it against her. I mean, that's basically what she did to Zash and Thanaton and she's not stupid enough to open herself up to that same achilles' heel 😉)

30. Name one skill you haven’t yet perfected that you want to master.

Saarai smiles again, a big, toothy grin this time. Unlike her twin, she's not the least bit shy about admitting her shortcomings and even laughs as she does so. "I wouldn't mind learning how to be better with Force lightning. It's not something I was ever good at, I can do a little but...Kas and Lana are way better at it than I am." she gestures at her posture, all bulk and hard muscle. "Doesn't lend itself so well to the artistry and the fine hand movements, does it? Nah, I'm more like...the battering ram that kicks the door in while they do the finicky lightning work. Still, it might be handy to be better at it, bet it comes in handy for short-circuiting those droids, or consoles and stuff."

Ni'kasi sniffs, seeming almost offended that you're still trying to poke into her weak points. When Rai gets more animated discussing hers, however, she seems to consider an answer of her own that isn't too damning to her reputation. A soft chuckle escapes the Pureblood, her eyes shining with an undeniable fondness and admiration for her sister, if you're looking closely enough to notice that is. "...I'm not good with people. Not like Rai is. Bossing people around and telling them what to do? That I can do. But making friends, making people like me? She makes it look so fucking easy and sometimes I wish I could be more like her..."

[Oneshot] How To Pacify A Sith

Author’s Notes

Alt title: Angy Sith (Pureblood) Survival Class 101 /jk

I wrote this one like a couple months ago and then totally forgot to post it anywhere outside of discord oopsie! So here, have this! I wanted to try out “present tense” writing for this piece cause it’s not a style I often use, but if there are mistakes esp. with the verbs/adverbs, this is why and I apologise and will correct any mistakes as they are pointed out to me! XD

TMW a Force sensitive gets so mad that even Force-blind people around them can ✨feel it✨ and you know if you don’t de-escalate that shit right now it’s gonna end badly jsgdjkgdjkdg Good thing Koth knows his girlfriend well enough to talk her out of it tho! 💖

Obligatory disclaimer that Rai is very highly emotional in the first place to start with, even before we take the whole Umbara thing into account, and she’s even MORE emotional/defensive when it comes to her partners. She doesn’t mean the things she’s saying right now, she’s reacting (knee-jerk style), out of anger and fear and that’s the entire point of this oneshot. She does care about Theron as a friend and she would absolutely not say these things about/to him if she was thinking straight. She is not thinking straight. That’s 👏 the 👏 point. 👏 Saarai’s reaction to the whole Umbara situation are not a word for word representation of my opinion of Theron Shan as a character and should not be treated as such. I like him (as a friend for my characters), but he messed up here and now he’s gotta deal with the consequences of his actions. I shouldn’t have to say that but to avoid any potential dust-ups with that side of the fandom, I am doing so (and will not be putting this in the theron tag out of courtesy for theron fans, I will be tagging as “theron critical” just to avoid potentially upsetting any mutuals/friends who I know like the character and might have that tag blocked so pls use your own discretion if you choose to go on and read this anyway! 🤗 ❤️), I cannot believe that I have to specify this for some of you people but in the interest of saving my time and sanity here it is in clear black & white for you 🙄

CW: Spoilers for the Crisis on Umbara flashpoint, violence/death threats towards a pretty popular character in the fandom, and swear words below the cut. Do not read on if you might be sensitive to any of the themes/content mentioned in this warning. I am not liable if you ignore this warning and/or choose to not read it and click through anyway. Use your braincells and do not willingly expose yourself to triggers so you can start a fight with me, thank you <3

Everyone's staring.

...the Empress' muscles are wound tight as coils, ready to strike at a moment's notice. Her sulfur-yellow eyes are glowing, and fixed on the blast door that Koth and Lady Occulus are currently standing in front of, blocking the way. He takes another step towards the Pureblood and fights every instinct that tells him to turn tail and run away as she bares her fangs and snarls like an enraged tuk'ata. "Saarai-"

"Koth. Move!" she booms, it's an order, not a request. He stands firm, hands out, palms up. "I said MOVE!" there's an unnatural, almost ethereal echo to her voice, and even a Force-blind individual like Koth can feel the sheer power radiating off her in waves. She's dangerously close to going over the edge, and if it had been two years ago, when they had first met, maybe he would be afraid that she would. But not this time. He knows Saarai, he can get through to her. Lady Occulus does not share the pilot's optimism.

"Vortena." the Darth's voice is sharp-edged between worry and warning, and he knows she too is poised to lunge across the small gap separating them, to pull him back and take his place instead...because if anyone currently standing in that hallway has the physical strength to withstand the full brunt of a rampaging adult Pureblood hitting them with all the force of a Star Destroyer, it's Saarai's twin sister.

Koth freezes, turns his head to glance at the other Sith out of the corner of his eye and insists, firm but gentle. "I've got this." Occulus grunts and eyes him with trepidation, but doesn't move an inch....for now.

"I know you're mad." Okay, that's an understatement; she's raging, exuding enough "Pissed Off Homicidal Sith" energy that the whole damn corridor is crackling with it, with the Pureblood at the epicenter. His words earn him another deep, guttural growl: "I'm gonna gut that bastard!" "You're not. You said that about me last year on the Gravestone, and I'm still here." the pilot counters, taking another, bigger, stride forwards. Saarai's eyes zero in on him. Good. He's got her off the door, theoretically off Theron and onto him, and that's a start. Another step lands him right in front of the Empress, and when she stoops down closer to his height Koth chuckles internally. Even if Saarai thinks she's doing it to get in his face and be intimidating, she keeps making this so much easier for him.

Koth continues speaking slowly, using his words to distract Saarai from the movements his hands make at the same time. He carefully reaches up to cup her face in his palms, and ignores the panicked huff of breath from Occulus as the other Pureblood realises what he's trying to do, too.

Saarai won't hurt him. Koth knows that, and he wishes Occulus would acknowledge that because he knows that deep down she knows it too.

"Easy. Shhh-shhh, shh. It's me." He shushes her soothingly as the Empress flinches when his hands touch her skin, and for a moment he blinks, having forgotten just how hot it could get when she got into a state like this. Her spurs continue to rattle, but she doesn't rip herself from his grasp, or fling him away, though she does grind out through clenched teeth: "He hurt Lana-"

"I know, yeah." Koth croons in agreement. But they both knew their partner had survived far worse than a single blaster bolt to the stomach before. She'd be fine. Probably pissed to all hells at Theron too, but that was a problem for them to tackle together after Lana was allowed to leave the medbay. "And that's like the button, I know, honey...I know."

Someone shuffles nervously and Koth doesn't dare look back to find out who, but he has to pull her attention back to him before she gets distracted or this is going to go really wrong, really quick. "Hey, look at me. Don't look at them, Rai, look at me. Easy..." he exhales a quiet breath of relief as the glow emanating from her irises flickers, then starts to fade. "H-He could have killed her, killed Vano!"

"He didn't. He didn't. I'll take you to see her just now." Koth promises, and once he's sure she's calm enough not to bite his nose off, leans in to press his forehead to the Pureblood's. "I'm not exactly happy with the lunkhead, either. I'm gonna punch him in the nose for you, cause I can do it without rolling his head onto the floor." "Koth..." it's half a growl, this time, but the echo is dissipating, even if her face is still dour. He has to pay for this. "We'll deal with it. But you and I both know if you go in there and kill him now, you're gonna hate yourself for it later, love." the pilot whispers, finally lifting his head again as the Empress exhales a shuddering breath....

And keens in distress, deflating into his arms, and her rage with her. "That's it...easy, I've got you, I've got you..." "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." she keeps whimpering, over and over again.

The pilot drops with her, half staggering beneath her weight, but he refuses to let her go. He knows she needs him right now, and so he cradles her head against his chest as best he can in that position, running his fingers through her hair in a comforting motion. "I know. Its okay, Rai...I've gotcha. I'm right here, shhh shhh shhh~"

He hears everyone behind him breathe out, half in utter amazement and half in relief.

It’s over. He actually pulled it off.

"You. Are a madman." the Empress' twin grumbles at him as she approaches to help him support Saarai's weight more comfortably - damn, if this was going to be a regular thing he was so gonna have to work out more. "She could have killed you." The Zakuulan scoffs. If he didn't know better, he'd almost think it sounds like Occulus was trying to scold him. Had she been worried about him? "I told you. I've got this."

Looking at her current partners I'd have to say the list is as follows: -Shorter than her (this one isn't hard she's a damn building /lh) -She defo leans more towards femme partners than masc partners but that's partially a Trauma Response(tm) so y'know. Not a dealbreaker necessarily (proof: Koth XD) -Apparently she's an introvert magnet so ig Rai thinks the quiet, thoughtful/broody thing is cute? hahaha -She also has a soft spot for said "quiet" person getting a little rough around the edges/harsh. The amount of times Sash has stepped in before Rai could get a word in edgewise and either verbally or literally (situational, both Rai and Sash won't necessarily knock someone around if they don't deserve it but each of them have a line that if you cross it, you're gonna get your ass kicked XD) let someone have it and the logical, Empress part of Rai's brain took an immediate vacation while "Oh my god my wife is hot" took over are...well, numerous enough to be like "funny that has happened x times" kinda deal XD

Oh yes, absolutely. Rai took after her daddy, she's a real charmer. :'D 10/10 pro flirt here, she'll have you swooning after one smile and one compliment half the time, even when she's ANNOYING she's charming, just ask Lana and Sash in particular. Even Koth fell for it, honestly, they didn't like eachother at first but then after they actually talked stuff out even he couldn't resist her charms ;3

Lana, making caf: Rai, did you just knock on the fridge?

Saarai, barely stifling laughter: Yes.

Lana, sighing & KNOWING she’s going to regret this: Why?

Saarai, cackling uncontrollably: Because...there might be a salad dressing.

*sound of Koth’s head hitting the table as he, too, laughs uncontrollably because Lana fell for it again*

💪 - would your character be more likely to scoop someone up in their arms, or be the one getting scooped?

Saarai regularly picks either of them up for hugs (or sometimes to carry them out of trouble, I'm looking at you, Koth lol) , and I imagine for Lana and Koth it could go either way, there's only a couple inches between them so they could pick each other up if need be, whenever they wanted. In fact, that’s a pretty good solution to “you’re too tall, I can’t reach >:L” and is usually Saarai’s default response, if her leaning down to their height takes too much time or is otherwise impractical for that particular moment, congrats, up you go, you’re getting l i f t e d. hahaha

But either of them trying to pick up Rai? Yeah, that's not gonna happen, there's at least half a foot of height between them (for either Lana or Koth) and even more than that in weight, ya girl's got a lot of muscles, she’s pretty heavy. I think Lana would struggle lifting her even with the Force to help 🤣🤣 (that said, she has used the Force to yeet Saarai out of danger once or twice, but y'know, that didn't involve picking up, more like...shoving LOL)

🤙 - how does your character’s relationship with touch change if they get tipsy or otherwise chemically unbalanced?

I wouldn't say Saarai changes awfully much, she does tend to get flirty first when she drinks, then sleepy immediately after that. So honestly, she might be a little more relaxed/less likely to protest to touching, but more often than not she'll fall asleep in their laps, or against their shoulders, before anything else. I’m still working on the oneshot, but this is basically what happens with Rai and Koth at the end of KOTFE during the cantina party. Up until that point, Saarai was a little iffy/flighty about him touching her, especially without a direct invitation (past trauma wooo), but when she puts her head in her lap and doesn’t shy away from letting him stroke her hair, that’s where the turning point in their half of the relationship happened. 🙂
