here's a question I'm not sure this is the best place to talk about:
if you were going to build a set of DOS/windows machines to play ALL PC GAMES, how many would you need?
Like, the boring answer is "ONE" but that's terrible and no, not really. Yes you can run DOSBox and such on a modern computer, but there's plenty of games in the hard-to-emulate era where they just won't run on a modern computer without a lot of patching and hacks and even then, maybe not.
So a slightly less boring answer is "TWO": One for the Hard To Emulate Era and one for NOW-GAMES. So like a 600mhz Pentium III with a Voodoo 3 and Windows 98, and a Modern Boring Machine. You play nearly everything on the modern one, including DOS games (using DOSBox and similar), but games that fit in the hard-to-emulate era, you play on the Old Machine.
BUT if you want to have a set of computers for most of the eras of PC gaming, you need more than that. Like if you were populating a museum of PC games. How many? I'm gonna say... FIVE. Maybe SIX.
An IBM XT. This is the best system for the earliest era of PC games: booters, early DOS games, anything without speed control (yes, there are turbo buttons, but they can only do so much). This is like an 8mhz with a 20mb hard drive, 640kb of ram, PC speaker only. You definitely need a joystick.
High-end 486/Pentium. This will play the rest of DOS games and nearly all Windows 3.1 games. 16mb of RAM is more than enough. A hard drive of about ~500mb (one of the first size limits), a soundblaster and maybe a GUS or MIDI device. You'll need a CD-ROM drive, for sure, even though most games won't need it.
Pentium II/III, or an AMD K6: Most early Windows games from the windows 9x era. You'll need a PCI sound card and a 3DFX card, probably a Voodoo 3 or above. You could go with an early nvidia like a geforce 2/3, but then you don't get GLIDE games. Something like 128mb of RAM, a couple gigs of hard drive, nearly all games will be CD-ROM so you want something FAST, and probably an old copy of Daemon Tools/CloneCD and a pile of no-CD cracks, because that will be NOISY.
Late single-core era: Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon 64. This is for the games that are relatively recent (2000s and onward) but have compatibility reasons that make them not run well on modern systems, because they don't handle multi-core systems, 64bit windows, or windowses newer than XP. So obviously this is going to run Windows XP, maybe tweaked Vista at a push, and it will 100% be the 32bit version. You're gonna have like 1-2 gigabytes of RAM, a few hundred gigabytes of hard drive space to a terabyte, and a video card like a GeForce 8-series or a Radeon HD 3000.
Boring modern machine. Fastest CPU/GPU, most RAM, biggest HD, etc that you can afford. Run Windows 10 or 11, it doesn't matter.
And the only reason I say "five or six" is because you might want to stuff another computer in, call it PC 3.5: Basically a fast Win9x machine, but this one uses an nvidia/ATI GPU instead of a 3DFX GPU. This'll be a machine for high-end Win9x/ME games that need more graphics power than a 3DFX card can manage, but don't work on an XP machine. I don't know for certain there are games in that area, but I wouldn't at all be surprised.

stone faced anon (💫 anon if it's free) here; as someone who has a hyperfixation in IT and coding I also think it would be very funny if Boothill had an s/o who wasn't necessarily a mechanic but like a software engineer or just a real big nerd about coding or something. He'll be experiencing a malfunction or a memory leak and go "oh yeah this happens sometimes don't worry about it" and then 10 minutes later he's sitting down plugged into a laptop listening to his s/o rant about how terrible his code is (crack hc: boothill's code was written in javascript) and how it's a wonder he hasn't bricked* yet
Would also be mad funny if Boothill ever got hacked and his s/o basically says "no you're not" and uses a previously made system restore point or something because of course they would both use and design every feature imaginable to keep Boothill in control of his own body, can you imagine the stress that losing control would cause him?? Even better if whoever designed him originally intentionally left a backdoor incase he ever went against their orders and when they try to use it his s/o just goes "oh yeah I quarantined and encrypted all the old files related to that backdoor and whatever else you were planning on a partition as bait and personally rewrote every file and function involved since your code is *an actual crime against technology*. by the way i'm going to go ahead and format that partition i mentioned, boothill- we won't be needing anything on it now that we can trace whoever made it. trust me, this won't be happening ever again."
*(bricking is a term mostly used to refer to hardware that's been rendered basically completely nonfunctional and beyond saving by using it wrong, mostly by messing with system files. Kinda like how windows can't even repair itself if you delete the system32 folder. Though i guess you could still install it with a usb stick if you formatted your pc- i digress you get what I mean. also since this almost happened to me recently: if you manage to fill up a hard drive to the brim, with literally 0 bytes of space left, that bricks it. reminder to check your storage thoroughly and often!)
Honestly wow I read it all and I'm a little bit speechless 🥹 thank you 💫 anon, it was great 🙏
Tumblr media
Boothill would DEFINITELY appreciate a s/o who's a tech savvy in general! I think at some point, he'd be pretty shocked you're so knowledgeable and just sit there, listening to you rant.. and just letting you do your thing.
Don't get me wrong, he definitely knows a lot about his body, his system and the way he works, but once you start to get in the zone and explain stuff to him, berate his code even, he just sits next to you, plugged in to your laptop, leaning his cheek against his hand listening to you like he obviously understands everything you say.
His other hand begins to gently play with a stand of your hair, humming deeply when the soft clicking sounds of your keyboard reach his ears; he twirls your hair with his fingers and chuckles, "mmm, really now?" Boothill raises an eyebrow, "encryptin' this, encryptin' that... How about we do somethin' more fun instead?" And then you shut him down from your laptop (😭).
Jokes aside, he'd feel very secure with you especially when he first got his new body, just knowing you'll probably fix a lot of things that could possibly blow up his face in no time, maybe even improve his life even more.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jungwon fixed his eyes upon the LED sign in front of him, until the words Neo Tech PC Bang seared into his corneas. Clenching the straps of my backpack he inhaled shakily. Come on, Yang Jungwon, it's literally just a PC bang, just go in and act natural. You find a computer and you figure out how to play that stupid game, how hard can it be? I’m sure there's a wikihow page somewhere. It doesn’t matter that Heeseung has been playing games for more than half of his life-
“Ummm… excuse me?” he snaps out of his internal monologue, jumping slightly as he looks down to meet your curious gaze. “Are you going in? You’re- uh kinda blocking the entrance” you smile amusedly.
“Yeah! I am, gonna go in that is, sorry” he says, busying himself with the door to hide his flustered expression. Swinging the door open he tilts his head politely in invitation. You smile a bit wider, thanking him with a nod and sauntering in easily. You call out a greeting to the man sitting at the counter, who answers it with an affectionate smile and a wave.
Eyes darting around the PC bang, Jungwon quickly assesses the numerous high school students spread across the desks sporting the uniforms he knew all too well. Cringing at the fresh memory of his high school days, Jungwon stumbles after you, clearly you knew what you were doing and you weren’t in uniform so hopefully you had graduated and he didn’t come off as a total creep. Stealthily Jungwon watches as you choose a desk at the corner of the room and begin unpacking, and tries to mimic your movements from a respectable distance two seats away.
His eyes flit over the numerous buttons and wires, he sighs realizing just how out of his element he truly was. He peeks over at you once again only to meet your expectant gaze, damn, maybe he wasn’t as subtle as he thought.
“The start button is on the side of the monitor,” you call out easily, scooping up your bag and instead dropping it onto the seat next to Jungwon.
“Right, thanks” he smiles gratefully up at you, fingers fumbling to quickly turn on the monitor.
“So, what’s someone like you doing here?” you ask as you settle into the gaming chair, making no move to turn on your own computer.
“Someone like me?” Jungwon raises his eyebrow sheepishly “Am I that obvious?”
“Oh yeah, well you look like you actually touch grass once in a while so clearly you’re not a typical degen like the rest of us. That and the fact that you were looking around like a lost lamb,” you say teasingly, “so what really brings you here?”
Maybe it’s the fact that Jungwon is relieved to have met a friendly face, or it's your naturally disarming demeanor, or that you had a really pretty smile. It might have been a combination of the three honestly, but he finds himself readily ranting to you, complaining about the state of his house. “-And they decide on who’s going to clean up the mess based on who gets the most kills, and of course I lose every time, because I actually have a fucking life and I don't shoot pixels for entertainment,” he grumbles throwing his head back in exasperation.
“Can’t you guys just play like, rock paper scissors, or draw lots or something?” you ask, entertained by the frustrated appearance of the boy in front of you.
Jungwon only groans further in response, “You don’t think I haven’t tried? Somehow I lose that every time too. So this is where I’m at, I can’t get better luck, not unless I somehow get divine blessing or something. But! What I can do is get better at games!” he states triumphantly chest puffing in anticipation of his victory.
“Ahhhh, I see,” you chuckle softly, turning on your computer, swiping your card quickly to access the main screen. “And out of all your friends, Heeseung was it? He’s the best? And you’ve never even played a proper game before?” You glance sideways, meeting Jungwon’s nod of affirmation. Logging into Valorant, you crack your fingers in preparation, entering the queue for a swift play. “What rank is he? Do you know?” you ask nonchalantly, clicking through your skins.
“Of course, it’s all he talks about day and night. He’s Diamond, “ Jungwon mutters bitterly.
With that you lean back into your chair with a hum, turning to assess Jungwon once again. He shifts slightly under the weight of your gaze, smiling awkwardly. At the appearance of his dimpled smile, you seem to conclude your internal debate and lean towards Jungwon conspiratorially. “Well, it seems as if your luck hasn't run out completely. I happen to be ranked Ascendant, and I’ve decided I’m going to make you into my Valorant protégé.”
Jungwon’s eyebrows knit in confusion, “Really? But you don’t even know me, why would you teach me how to play?”
You shrug, “All my friends are out of the country so I’m quite literally bored out of my mind and I have nothing better to do. Plus you’re cute and you have nice dimples, so why not? I've always wanted to be a coach.” you muse absentmindedly.
Jungwon’s eyes widen almost comically as he begins to sputter, “Wait wh-
Match Found . A mechanical voice rings out from the monitor cutting through Jungwon’s bewilderment. You clap your hands together in excitement tugging his chair towards yours, “Great! Let’s get started! Come here I’ll walk you through the basics.”

supplement : Diamond is around the top 7% of players while Ascendant is the top 2.5%
You always need to enter a queue for Valo games where you wait for the system to match up players of similar rank. Once the game is found the system will notify you with “Match Found”
Swift Play- a mode of valorant which is first to 4 rounds instead of the classic 13. It’s a quick way to get in some practice and learn different maps.
Degen is slang for degenerate - a shut in who often stays up late at night playing games

A little hardware rant
So today I went to a local electronics retailer to look for some thermal paste to soothe my poor overworked CPU's temperature problems. This, being a bit of a departure from the store's usual fare of prebuilt electronics actively hostile to modification, repair, or upgrades, I found no logical place for the thing, so I had to wander around a bit while waiting for someone who worked there to have a spare moment between hocking overpriced laptops to help me out on this.
So, being the impeccably efficient and very reasonable young man that I am, I decided to kill some time by browsing for a new keyboard. It's sad to say, but my current one has been with me since the days of the Party Rock Anthem, and it's getting a bit long in the tooth. So, what could this unnamed major Scandinavian electronics retailer offer me? Well, as it turned out my search would be more frustrating than I anticipated.
When it comes to pc parts, I'm reasonably utilitarian. As long as it lets me do what I want to do, it's doing its job. Keyboards are different though. I have preferences. As a writer, I like my keyboards to have the three following features:
Intuitive layout with some slight spacing between the letters to facilitate easier cleaning
A wired USB connection, this is non-negotiable. I don't want to fiddle with Bluetooth or whatnot.
No foofaraw. No fancy extra buttons, no lights, no fiddly gimmicks.
Now, do you want to know how many keyboards fulfilled all of my criteria in this big ol' store? Exactly none. I found an ergonomic one that seemed nice but was, unfortunately, wireless and one that was wired and had nice key placements but unfortunately also had this regrettable "Gamer"-branding and my old nemesis LEDs.
Now, if I may ask, what exactly is the purpose of LEDs on a keyboard? Are there scores of people who'd love to game in the dark if they could only see their input devices? It just seems alien to me since my ideal input device just lets me get into the zone while writing and stay there without disturbing me. This is, as one might expect, a taller task for a keyboard with pulsing RGB light and a dedicated button for playing the 2012 Skrillex hit Bangarang or whatever.
What frustrates me most about this is that I don't think my demands are particularly extravagant and that I assumed that having access to a wide range of Products was supposed to be the draw of living in this here late-capitalist hellscape that we navigate on the daily. It isn't the case though, as the selection of products that are deemed Most Profitable to sell to us narrows further and further. Sure, The Man could sell you parts to upgrade or repair your PC, but that's not as good of a deal (for them) as just selling you prebuilt underperformers that burst into flames if you even look at them with a screwdriver in hand. Similarly, there's no reason to say every goddamn keyboard has to be wireless now, but wireless tech is cheap enough (and harder for amateurs to repair) so it goes in everything. I'm convinced that is the reason you basically can't find high-end wired earbuds anymore.
Now, this is perhaps getting into a slightly conspiratorial headspace, but I do think there's something to this trend of consumer goods being less tailored to the needs of consumers and more kind of pushed through to the customer, which I don't love. Hell, I don't love the Faustian bargain of "live in an unsustainable unfair system that does a fuckery to our biosphere but you have infinite varieties of consumer goods to choose from to distract you," in the first place, but when that slowly gets replaced with "buy our garbage peasant" before my eyes, I can't help but wonder if I'm being played for an absolute fool.
So in short, capitalism bad, it's surprisingly hard to find the keyboard you want, perhaps the discontent of the masses should topple the fat cats of the world, turns out the place didn't have thermal paste in the first place, eat the rich, you know, that kind of stuff.

Hey Note! Did u think of any cool wacky tech stuff recently? Honestly i love ur designs and im super curious abt it
HELLO?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SO I DONT HAVE MY PC AROUND (lies I'm just too lazy to open the files and go through them atm) BuUT!! BUT! I just happened to have my various notebooks around, which I dutifully carry everywhere and ANYWHERE. Meaning that, yes. I do have some wacky tech stuff around.
I apologize for the poor quality of the pictures. They're not even Donnie related, but you can imagine they are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Spaceships to the left and to the right. Can you tell I love drawing them? They're similar designs, but,,I just love the shapes..
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I didn't post a QUARTER of the stuff, It'd probably get too cramped otherewise. Also tumblr only allows 10 pictures--and then I'd be like-oh, I need to explain what everything does in extreme and graphic detail, but there are systems and ways to do that. I can't just...rant. Well, I can. I am. Technically. Not the point.
Either ways, on these pages there are some art studies, but also randomized devices and things that move but would probably sway and unbalance itself to their unfortunate demise were they to come to life. Fun stuff.
Also, these are the ones I've made outside--when I'm on the bus or waiting for the bus, standing at a crossroad...it helps pass the time, and its become one of my favourite pastimes.
I have to learn to be more diverse, think bigger--oh. Speaking of, I'd love to actually learn about engineering itself, so that I can make some of my designs functional. I want to build things, you know? And I want them to look weird and wacky and interesting to look at.
Things that make you question why in the good hell was this a thing in the first place, to be more specific.
Actually, if any of you want, you can send random prompt word or words, and I could try making up something to match! Two words that make no sense next to each other and trying to make it work. That'd be fun. Sometimes inspiration gets stuck until someone decides to kick it back into action. That's what I used to do with this old pc tower. It was cathartic. Anyways. Yes.
@kiwi-smug-silvalina thanks for the ask, you could send it ten times more and I'd still have things to say. Next time I post other designs, they'll be more refined, but for now, thanks :) this made me excited all over.

Quick rant about the NFS fanbase
Something that has fascinated me with the newest Need for Speed game is the seeming complete disconnect between the developers and the fanbase. It's fairly clear if you look at the NFS subreddit and see what they think about the newest game (fyi: it's not good). It's like, the devs at Criterion are who you would expect from a working-class tech job, they're progressive and want to tell a story of "fighting the man" and taking down the system, but the story-telling fails because the average NFS fan is a polish conservative who just voted in favor of banning gay people in his city. Much of the modern NFS fandom is fairly conservative (despite the games having you fight cops regularly), vaguely racist (see: recent discourse on how much rap music there was in the newest game), and sometimes explicitly homophobic (see: some of the fanbase's reaction to the newest game having one trans character in it). Despite the efforts of the devs to make a more accepting community and support pro-LGBT ideas, you can still regularly see people in the subreddit complaining about the newest game going fully "woke" and "PC", and that the devs should just go back to the good old MW2005 days (before they invented gay people (I'm joking here)), despite the fact that the NFS fanbase would almost certainly not like whatever they put out.
I'm not sure how it got to this point, but I think it has to do with car culture in general. The culture around cars has kind of always been conservative in an individualistic way, sort of like modern right-libertarians, in that think they should be allowed to own drugs and guns but also they shouldn't have to look at black people in their neighborhood. I suppose it's only become more obvious in the NFS community as a pushback against the developers of the NFS games. With how game development is a notoriously exploitive industry, it makes sense that they've become progressive and anti-capitalist to some extent. With the culture around cars, it's no surprise that many leftists today take such a strong anti-car approach. But as someone who likes cars, I don't want to see them gone entirely. It should be our priority to reform car culture towards something that's not only accepting of people around us, but actively supporting of alternative transportation options (like public transit), so that driving can be a fun activity again for everyone.

random goof ramble omg,,,
i hope whatever the valve deckard is is its Good and the same price as psvr2?? but i also dont care about new vr,, i only want valve deckard or new valve vr headset or whatever because it means they'll come out with a new game at the same time
half life alyx was *so* good and i dont think there's been a vr game to come close to how good it was and still is 2ish years later. i think half life 3 coming out with their new, not super expensive (~$500 please valve) headset would probably bend over and spank the other 5 billion standalone vr headsets coming out. half life 3 should *not* be only vr, fucking Obviously, but if it didnt have native vr support id be pretty upset because holy shit the end scene of hl:a ***you were HOLDING the fucking crowbar*** i need that for a 10-15 hour long campaign
valve,,, if yoy use tumblr,,, please.,.,.,.. youd make so much money hl3 wouldn't even have to come with the headset it could be $70 and youd be PRINTING money for the rest of time PLEASEEEE
also, it'd be really cool for a new valve game that's not a tech demo,,, i dont think hl:a was a tech demo for vr, but it.. kind of was? a really really good tech demo, but they probably wouldn't have made a spinoff half-life game if not for New Cool Technology. im pretty sure all of the recent valve games have been glorified tech demos. which i like them!! they're fun!!!! i adore hl:a and aperature desk job. and their vr game with the minigames is cute. the aperature game with the hand robots is cute, too. im probably missing one but all of them have been cute fun lil games.
hl3 tho,, new full valve game not just for a specific new tech thing? wooh.,.,. works on their new (and old) vr thing, steam deck, and a normal pc? Wooh,,,,, money printer right there.
more deckard rant... i hope to got its not a standalone.
maybe a standalone that doesn't play games.. hear me out wait hold on
valve doesnt like splitting up steam im pretty sure. if it was standalone, itd run on the xr2, an ARM chip, whereas all of steamvr is x86 because fucking duh yeah its for computers. i don't think valve is gonna have that thing running proton and like.. box86 or whatever. itd be TERRIBLE!! and theres no way in fresh hell they're putting the steam deck chip in there, or any other x86 thing, because it'd SUCK!!!!!! but if it was like... xr2 without steam. you can stream from your desktop, play those games wirelessly (or with displayport pls valve) or just look at your monitor in vr and browse the internet Whatever. i do wonder if a valve standalone with ARM would run linux ARM or android... knowing valve i bet it'd be linux. something thatd be SO fucking cool is- ok hear me out again this is a long one
steamvr home is cool... it sucks right now because valve hasn't done anything with it forever, and it just tanks your computer the second it starts, and there's.. not much to do BUT WHAT IF there was... what if it was like.. steam home (corny idc) and-
hello. i just spent 10 minutes describing neosvr. i deleted all that because i realized, i want valve to buy neosvr and put it in steam. just, right in the client. the whole thing. share media with ur friends, have a home world u can do Whatever the Fuck you want with and custom avatars and whatever you Want. neosvr is in a weird spot and if valve just fucking swallowed them whole and rebranded it as a Steam Home thing id ascend into the 6th dimension. neosvr is so fucking cool.... it makes me very sad though because again its in a weird spot and im sure they'll figure it out but Eeeeee,,,
anyway as i was saying... neos but in steam .. u start ur Valve Deckard or whatever its called.. new shiny vr ... and you sign into your steam account and ur put into steamvr+neos. its some new home lobby, there's a desktop sitting somewhere that you can boot up and its just fucking. linux arm with kde. because that'd be insane. or u could set it up to stream your big beefy desktop (maybe a vr headset modeled sitting next to it u can physically put onto your head to turn on the streaming as long as ur pc is accessible on the network). but also you could go outside or maybe just open a menu and go into whatever public world and do social vr things and neosvr things. please. itd be so cool,,, all the deckard could run would be steam home 2.0 and game streaming but itd be So Cool.... kind of a tough sell to people without computers untill vr cloud streaming becomes viable but i think people with computers (already valve's main demographic lol) may consider it.

Leverage Redemption Log: The Tournament Job
Look i dont have anything speculative to say about that name. There'll be a tournament of some sort. Lets get into it --- Oh no its gonna be an attempt at covering E-sports, get me 500 CC's of "how you doing fellow kids" STAT! But seriously, these types of "emergent field of entertainment for mostly youth" episodes rarely do the research to represent their "thing" fairly or accurately.
Abusive sportscoaches exist, and there is no way the E-sports industry is free from controversy but this already feels weird in ways I cant truly 100% put my hands on. Like this scene feels like its invoking Bao from the Golf Job, but you cant really human traffic people into E-sports Celebrity Status. --- Ok i apreciate the little Hardison Text-Rant.
Harry has decided not to hide his gamercred. (had time after the divorce, also probably a bonding-with-the-daughter thing)
Ok so i did a quick google, apparently E-sports doping is a thing?
Brock (not the pokemon guy), i think thats John Sennar or whatever? Im bad at faces and wrestling isnt my thing. But I vague-cognise the face. See and this is where my first problem comes in: The nature of the E-sports scene is verry web-cam focussed, with a lot of its branding based around livestreams and such. Its really hard to believe he's been holding these people prisoner and forcing them to dope without anyone noticing. The writers claim that they just stole their phones but when you have webcams and constant internet access a team of a druggy and a punchy with no tech support to lock them out of the internet when they're training for a MOBA tournament and their computers have constant internet access feels like a ridiculous stretch to me. Literally all it takes is one of them using an in-game chatroom and the "kidnapping e-sports people" scheme collapses. --- Sophie states the objectives: Take down Mark, dont harm the Teams Reputation.
Goal: Get Cheating Software on the PC's (the kids can deny having downloaded anything). --- Elliot has made the team breakfast. One of the kids (something-lion i think?) just said what I was saying: these kids have internet access, he's dating a girl via the internet and in regular contact with them.
Parker, your "hardison is always watching" sounds downright "Abrahamic god" in how creepy it is. Tone it down.
Breanna be carefull you dont get this guys ego so high he murders one of the teammates and replaces them so he can bask in the sunlight.
Breanna has got him on the hook. (also her lion-pendant has a tiny camera in the diamond) Honestly, scramble her own voice. Leak this recording. Call it a day. This is the moment we've won. The moment he said "elevate dominate" while thinking about it, thats as good as a confession and a guarantee ender of any sponsorship, while the recording makes it clear the boys werent involved. (I mean he'd rebrand a couple years down the line. Like Harry Said, but the boys go free) --- Samurai Midnight are favoured to win in the betting, (which means if we get them disqualified for cheating. The other team wins and bets pay out big time).
Oh no, Parker has discovered the T-Shirt Cannon. This is gonna be a THING.
Ah Breanna forgot one thing: This guy isnt stupid enough to break into an armored car himself. He's got goons for that. --- And Senner is unconcious from poison. Harry has ninja-run'd the guards out of here. And they remembered that he has a hacker on his side. (though not someone to filter the athletes chatroom activity) --- That is NOT a moba. They literally all start in a small arena-space and begin punching eathother. (I get that only havign a small digital set-piece saves them assets on whatever animator they hired for the game-stuff. Its understandable productionwise but still an issue)
Oh... He's put the AI on both sides. Kyle wants a setpiece moment, a star-maker. He has rigged both sides so he can create a come-from-behind upset by switching the AI from assisting team 1 to team 2. --- Breanna's "by the power of gaming I hit you with a bottle" moment felt dumb, and not in a funny way.
Parker has been dating Hardison for 8 years and doesnt seem to know what a black box is.
Harry's influencer is on the run, Harry's gonna have to do play-by-play instead. --- seriously this game has an entire futuristic city modeled, but everyone spawns in a tiny arena at the centre and just punches eachother.
Huh, i didnt think about it but Hardisons Hackerpowers do allow the character to influence the plot without needing the physical actor. Good on the writers for realising that. So just a note, didnt them losing the previous fight but still getting a second fight imply that its best 2 out of 3? Cause if so this scene of paralel climactic victories with Elliot and the Samurais doesnt work as they're not winning so much as failing to loose. --- Sophie realised what Kyle knows, Kyle wins either way unless we prove Kyle hacked. Its not about Win or Lose its about Destroying Kyle.
Elliot tries to initiate the Rugbyteam Huddle, it was verry innefective.
Turn the game into an autobattler and have the team walk away. --- Denouement starts, Harry with the hidden camera. Obviously detoxing shakes to get remainders out of their system (switched the pills for placebos).
Parker has discovered the T-shirt cannon. Now lets hope she never figures out you can custom-order T-shirts to say whatever you want, lest she start shooting non-lethal missiles with your name on them.
Ok so like, thats definitly a Street Fighter type game now, (or perhaps tekken?) --- Final rundown, not as bad as it could've been.

hp made the antichrist (rant)
i havent complained about this on here yet, so
HP 14t-bs000 laptop in the same market as the HP Stream laptop, this laptop (which doesnt have a product name for some reason)... fucking sucks. so much.
i used this piece of shit (which im currently typing this on) nearly every day for at least a year, so im comfortable with saying this is the worst computer ive ever used.
for all you tech people out there, here are the specs: HP 14t-bs000 1DN87AV laptop Intel Celeron N3060 @1.60 GHz, 2 cores, 2 threads 4GB DDR3L-1600 PC3L-12800S Non-ECC RAM 32GB eMMC storage Intel HD 400 Graphics 1GB RAM 1366x768 60Hz display Windows 10 Home
for those of you in the know, you might already see the problem(s)
so using this laptop every day was hell imagine being in 2020 and doing school online alas, this computer is all you have what do you do? suffer
this laptop is slow. extremely slow. i can hear the intel celeron (intel celery) in this laptop begging for mercy every time i power it on this processor is worse than one from 17 years ago (10 years in 2017) im not kidding this (2017) celeron n3060 performs worse than the (2007) core 2 duo i found in a $6 pc i got at the thrift store
Tumblr media
and it sure as hell feels that way you better have patience and a lot of it half the time i cant tell if its actually doing anything this celery stick of a cpu makes browsing the internet a pain which is a problem because that's what this computer was made to do
[on a slightly unrelated note, the keyboard randomly stopped working while i was typing that]
much like the cpu, the ram also sucks. 4gb is barely enough to run windows 10. it functions, and i appreciate that hp lets you upgrade it up to like 8gb, but its still not good.
the screen. no. ok so, congratulations hp, you somehow invented the worst screen ever. good job. it has god awful viewing angles, and i use "viewing" in jest because you cant see this screen for some reason, hp decided it would be a good idea to have a glossy screen, making this more of a tinted mirror supposedly, this makes for better colors, but that doesnt matter WHEN I CANT SEE THE GOD DAMN SCREEN hp also supposedly made a matte finish screen for this line of laptops, but i cant find a single one so yeah, screen sucks, but it is a very light annoyance compared to the storage
32 GB of storage. Need I say more? 32 GB is nothing. I shit you not, the damn operating system takes up more than 2/3 of the storage. That is unacceptable.
Tumblr media
How the fuck do you expect the average person to deal with this? You install one program and Windows is already complaining. The average person sees the low storage notification and runs into the wilderness with their doomsday supplies.
If you want this computer to be usable in any way, you need an SD card or an SSD (we'll get back to that in a minute). I'm sorry, is it too much to ask HP Inc (ranked #63 on the Fortune 500 list) for a laptop that's usable out of the box? It's fucked up that you can sell laptops with that little storage in the modern day. 32GB is already awful, but to only have roughly 10 GB actually usable? You can install a couple apps and download a few files before you're completely out of space. At a certain point, you can't update Windows or even browse the internet until you clear up some storage. Was 64GB too much to ask for? Even that isn't a lot, but it's usable! You can install things without immediately running out of space, a concept HP clearly hasn't heard of.
"Yeah, the laptop sucks, but who gives a shit? It's a bottom-of-the-barrel laptop, what did you expect?" I EXPECT IT TO BE FUCKING USABLE. The average person doesn't know much about computers. They see a low price and immediately bite, not knowing they just opened a pit into hell. They start using it, notice it's extremely slow, learn they can't download shit, give up, and leave it in a closet for 20 years.
I understand that this laptop, $150 to $250 when new, was not expected to be good. I know. I'm just asking for usability. The fact that HP thought it was acceptable to sell this thing is further proof that HP fucking sucks. The very existence of this laptop defies God. This laptop's manufacture infamously lead to the Third Crusade. This laptop is the Antichrist.
ok ok ok yes im being overly dramatic i know but i cannot stress enough how horrible this laptop is to use there are school laptops better than this
in fact I have used at least 2 different school laptops that are better to use than this
Dell Latitude 3190 Intel Pentium Silver N5030 @1.10GHz, 4 cores, 4 threads 8GB DDR4-2400 RAM 128GB eMMC Intel UHD Graphics 605 Windows 10 Education
Comparing this laptop to the HP laptop is like comparing a desk to a rusty pile of nails This Dell laptop is so god damn usable like it has storage! it has ram! it has a processor! if you removed all of the school web filters and whatnot, you'd get a low end (but more than usable!) laptop and they just gave these out! like i said, this hp laptop is worse than a school laptop
another school laptop Dell Chromebook 3110 Intel Celeron N4500 @1.10GHz, 2 cores, 2 threads 4GB LPDDR4-2933 RAM 32GB eMMC ChromeOS
while yes, these are basically the specs of the HP laptop, it doesn't feel that way when they stole the other dell laptop from us and gave us this thing as a consolation prize, I was pissed however, it feels fine, mostly because it's a chromebook chromeos takes up less resources, less space, doesn't need anything fancy plus, i think intel recently improved their celeron processors so that they aren't outperformed by decades-old processors (i dont have a source for this) in any case, it still feels usable
This is not good for HP. In popular culture, school laptops are stereotypically fucking atrocious. Yet, somehow, HP managed to make something worse.
there are computers from 10+ years ago for half the price on ebay that are leagues ahead of this sinful pile of plastic
Tumblr media
im sure you can find much better deals than this online
please if you need a laptop and dont care about its specs please dear god dont buy this laptop or similar ones still sold find something on ebay save up a bit more for something better whatever it takes to not get this laptop this laptop has caused me so much fucking frustration so much anxiety i wouldnt wish this laptop on any of my enemies
ok redeeming qualities: it technically functions and its easy to work on which is a good thing because if you actually plan on using this rattly lump of lead and depression, you definitely want to upgrade some things
this laptop comes from a line of better laptops, so luckily theres a lot of easy upgradability for one, all of the screws are easily accessible and the bottom of the laptop comes off relatively easily, plus it has an easily removable battery for two, half of the laptop comes highlighted in blank
Tumblr media
see those shiny metal plates on the left side? thats called opportunity for that is not useless space, it is expansion
Tumblr media
on the left is mini-SATA, and the right is regular SATA to the average jim, this doesnt mean anything but if you're in the know, you'll know that you can use these for SSDs, HDDs, and optical drives yes, some of these laptops came with actual storage better yet, you can use these!
Tumblr media
so i bought the cheapest 256gb ssd that micro center sold, and instantly octupled (8x) the storage capacity (depending on how you count it, i may have nontupled [9x] the storage) and all of a sudden, the laptop is usable!!! still slow as shit, mind you, but i can store files! i can install programs without fear! using the analogy from earlier, its like turning the rusty pile of nails into a small table
I have also upgraded the ram to 8GB it didnt make it much better, but its the thought that counts with this newfound power, im tempted to get the optical drive, an internal fan (because it currently doesnt have one and can get hot, and even a new motherboard with a better processor
ok so In conclusion, this laptop fucking sucks and the fact that HP sold any of them is a testament to God's weakness. However, it can be improved. But it still fucking sucks, fuck you HP.

The Gonzo Journals April 18th, 2023 Again, I was having difficulty thinking of something to write about. Since I’ve removed social media from my phone, I rarely get triggered by stupidity! It’s amazing how that worked out. Now it’s robbing me of subject matter for my morning rants. Solution? Log into Facebook on my PC and take a quick scroll… Bingo. Unity web player games free

UNITY WEB PLAYER GAMES FREE HOW TO
UNITY WEB PLAYER GAMES FREE CODE
UNITY WEB PLAYER GAMES FREE PC
UNITY WEB PLAYER GAMES FREE OFFLINE
Unity multiplayer games work in the following way: first, a player starts a game as host (by selecting LAN Host). In this tutorial we are going to use the LAN Host and LAN Client options. The Network Manager HUD shows a simple HUD for the players to connect to a game.įor example, if you play the game now, you should see the following screen: This object will be responsible for managing for connecting different clients in a game and synchronizing the game objects among all clients. In order to have a multiplayer game, we need a GameObject with the NetworkManager and NetworkManagerHUD components, so let’s create one. Try running the game now and you should see the space background in the game. In the BackgroundImage we only need to set the Source Image, which will be the space one. This way the Canvas will appear in the background, and not in front of the other objects. Then, we are going to set its UI Scale Mode to Scale With Screen Size. In the BackgroundCanvas, we need to set its Render Mode to be Screen Space – Camera (remember to attach your Main Camera to it). We can do that by creating a new Image in the Hierarchy, and it will automatically create a new Canvas (rename it to BackgroundCanvas). The first thing we are going to do is creating a background canvas to show a background image.
UNITY WEB PLAYER GAMES FREE CODE
You can download the tutorial source code files here. Go to the Asset Store ( Window > Asset Store) and download “Mirror”. In the Sprite Editor (shown below), you need to open the slice menu and click in the Slice button, with the slice type as automatic. In order to do that, we need to set the Sprite Mode as Multiple and open the Sprite Editor. However, some of those sprites are in spritesheets, such as the enemies spritesheets, and they need to be sliced. Unity Inspector will automatically import them to your project. In order to do that, create a folder called Sprites and copy all sprites to this folder. However, nobody has responded to ompuco's issue from October, so I wanted to post here as another six months and these games may be completly gone forever. Before starting reading the tutorial, you need to create a new Unity project and import all sprites available through the source code. Yes, I know this issue was raised on the GitHub issue tracker. Thank to anyone who even bothered to read all this, looking forward to getting to know more fellow devs and indie gamers. however I'm afraid this post is actually more important to me at the moment, especially since it's time sensitive. I have been holding off being active on any site for indie gaming as I have several things that have been in the works for years I plan on releasing in 2018 right outta nowhere like an RKO. I apologize for the rant, as well as this being my first post.
UNITY WEB PLAYER GAMES FREE HOW TO
I know I'm a broken record saying I would very much like to hear how to go about this, but hopefully it is clear this is important to me, and I can imagine most people here understand why, even if it is a bit excessive! XD There are dozens of silly prototypes and couch co-op games that I have fond memories of as well as talk about to my fellow devs and gamer friends almost every day. It's impossible to download the file if it isn't loaded in the plugin, so that's why this is an issue.
UNITY WEB PLAYER GAMES FREE OFFLINE
unit圓d file for offline play in the future. At the same time I want to voice some way of obtaining the. I can understand if Itch is trying to completely move away from the web player format all together. With tech like the web player so old as it is, there will only be so much more time left to use old builds of web browsers just to utilize even older plugins. I just found out Firefox and several other browsers are making NPAPI completely unusable like Chrome in early 2018. So, what I'm getting at is I would very much like to get a few of these games while still possible. The massive collection of freeware games I have has been essential to starting friendships and opening up a common ground with people I otherwise wouldn't get to do. It never fails to surprise me how many gamer's not only are unaware of how big the indie scene is, but how vast the freeware gaming scene is these days too. I have been developing games myself the last five years or so and a lot of the games made by developers on here, or I discovered through here are extremely nostalgic for me and important in the way any good video game is to a gamer.
UNITY WEB PLAYER GAMES FREE PC
I have been passionate about freeware gaming since 2007, and have around ten thousand freeware PC games on my backup drive today. It may seem silly, but I would very much like to download some of these little gems. At first I thought Web Player had been completely removed even past Chrome doing so years ago, but just recently connected the dots that the only games that don't load are on here. It appears to me Itchio has made all Unity Web Player games (Not WebGL) refuse to load in, even when using an appropriate browser to do so.

about diana
i thought it would be fun to put up some basic profiles/introductions for my OCs on here, so i'll start off with Diana, my beloved nonbinary dhampir 💖
Tumblr media
they/them | nonbinary trans dhampir (half human, half vampire)
PROFILE:
full name: Diana Penumbra Hellebore
age: about 260 years old
birthday: November 18th. ...technically. Diana isn't actually sure when they were really born, but that's the day they picked their current name, so...
height: 6’ 1“
personality: stoic and intimidating on the outside, soft and sentimental on the inside. kind of a hermit. a knight with the soul of a scholar. they're pretty quiet... but if you're one of the lucky few to get close to them, you must prepare for some very in-depth infodumping.
loves: swords, cooking, old computers, strategy games, coffee, their partner Rosemary
Tumblr media
ASSORTED FACTS:
Diana's interest in swords is mostly from a craftsmanship and historical angle. they can easily go on rants about how much they think nobility and dueling culture is bullshit, though.
they go by “Adrian” sometimes. at first, it was merely an anonymous name they picked for online use, as a nod to a certain fictional dhampir. the name did kind of stick, though...
they've picked up a lot of hobbies over the years, being a curious person with plenty of free time and all. they're currently very passionate about cooking, and has spent entirely too much time perfecting their pourover coffee.
Diana currently works as an archivist.
they prefer no label for their attraction/sexuality situation. please respect this.
Diana is really into computers, actually. which might be surprising because most people may assume "haha, vampires are probably tech illiterate right?" but as a bored nerd who spends a lot of time at home, it makes a lot of sense that they would latch onto computers as an interest. they used IRC and Usenet groups back in the day, enjoy building PCs, etc.
they maintain elaborate spreadsheets and databases for their special interests.
i have a huge hyperfixation on them. sorry.......!!!
