Light of the Creatrix
✨️
A transfeminine figure performing seidr, wreathed in serpents. Holding distaff and spindle, she sings songs of destiny, guided by the Norns. Above her is Dagaz, the rune of day, source of hope and happiness for all humanity, promising change to come. Below her is a broken sword - symbolizing defeat of all adversaries, or in tribute to her as offering, is for you to decide.
I've been working on her bit by bit for the past couple of months and before I realized what was happening, she was turning into a bracteate of sorts. 😅
This piece is really important to me. Every day things seem more and more bleak as a result of the tidal wave of legislation aimed at my community. But this figure - she is undaunted, shedding old skins and weaving her fate anew. Strong, powerful, beloved. Proud. 🏳️‍⚧️

All other religions bind you with rules; "Do this. Don't do that."
The Devil alone says "Do as you wish. For I will never judge."

worship evolves with time. yes, the people who worshipped the gods back in the day had specific offerings to be given. but what is stopping you from giving modern offerings? things around your house? offerings shouldn't have to cost you a fortune. your deities aren't holding you at gunpoint to only receive what you can't easily get. they are a means of showing your love in your day-to-day. so yes!! give your deities candy bars! show them a silly little doodle of them in the corner of your notebook!! make a spotify playlist and play it for them!! dedicate a journal to them!! make a pinterest board and fill it with pins that remind you of them!! the important aspect of these offerings is that you are thinking about your deities. thinking about them and feeling love and devotion to them is a means of offering! you are devoting your energy in these acts!!

I love seeing prayers and stories of devotees who worship Gods that I don’t worship.
Actually, I’ve always been like this.
I love hearing the tales of religions that I don’t subscribe to. Even if I don’t agree with every Christian, I do enjoy hearing Christians talk about how wonderful Jesus is and what he means to them personally.
I enjoy hearing Muslims talk about their prayers, how they reserve time out of their day for their God.
I enjoy hearing Jews sing their psalms, I love hearing about how they prepare their food, how they consider God’s hands in their meals.
I love hearing about Hellenic rituals and Semetic celebrations. I love learning about the different holy days among different groups of pagans.
I love learning how different people have incorporated different Gods, acts, and customs into their faith. I love hearing about their myths and legends, the stories they tell their children before bed.
I love hearing about the different ways that humanity has connected to their personal idea of God.
I don’t worship Apollon or Shiva today, but I am so delighted to hear the prayers of those that do. It’s like I’m getting to feel the mist erupting off of a waterfall. Or hearing the echo of a song that I do not know the lyrics to, but I can still hum the melody. I can feel the notes permeate my mind, even if I don’t know what they mean.
I love that there are people who worship these Gods that I do not worship. I’m happy that there is so much diversity among humanity that we have enough love in us for all of them.
For the ones that even I don’t know the names of, or felt the warmth of. Someone has.
That’s a very very good thing.
