Upapada Lagna💕- What is its use?

Upapada Lagna is a concept in Vedic astrology from which one could determine one's marriage life. It is also used to determine the longevity of marriage.

Even the number of children can be predicted from upapada Lagna, but these may not hold true in practice. So mainly it can be used to assess relationships, their quality, possibility of affairs and happiness in marriage.

There is a lot of controversy over how it should be calculated but I prefer the tried and tested calculation of using the 12th house ruler. It is basically calculated using your 12th house ruler placement.

If 12th lord is in 1st house, your Upapada Lagna is 2nd house.

If 12th lord is in 2nd house, your Upapada Lagna is 4th house.

If 12th lord is in 3rd house, your Upapada Lagna is 3rd house.

If 12th lord is in 4th house, your Upapada Lagna is 8th house.

If 12th lord is in 5th house, your Upapaga Lagna is 10th house.

If 12th lord is in 6th house, your Upapada Lagna is 9th house.

If 12th lord is in 7th house, your Upapada Lagna is 2nd house.

If 12th lord is in 8th house your Upapada Lagna is 4th house.

If 12th lord is in 9th house, your Upapada Lagna is 3rd house.

If 12th lord is in 10th house, your Upapada Lagna is 8th house.

If 12th lord is in 11th house, your Upapada Lagna is 10th house.

If 12th lord is in 12th house, your Upapada Lagna is 9th house.

Now that you know your upapada Lagna what to do with it? Well, many things can be seen. If there are malefic planets on the upapada Lagna or in 2nd or 7th house from it, then these planets can disturb the marriage life.

Say your upapada Lagna is in 10th house and Mercury is in 4th house, then relatives of spouse could cause obstacles in your relationships and marriage. You can extend the principle to other houses.

If Upapada Lagna lord itself is afflicted, it can delay marriage or cause divorces. Say Upapada is in Taurus and Venus is with Rahu.

Small Tip: Transit of Jupiter over upapada or 2nd house from upapda or trine to that 2nd house from Upapada can get you married. Example Upapada is in 9th house, then transit of Jupiter in 9th, 10th, 2nd and 6th house can bring marriage.

Debilitated planets or Rahu or Ketu in 2nd house from Upapada can lead to affairs or termination of marriage.

Upapada in Taurus can be difficult because 2nd from UL is Gemini and can cause multiple marriages.

Upapada Lagna in 10th house can mean marriage to a significantly higher status person.

benefics in Upapada Lagna or aspecting UL can lead to a fruitful marriage. Say Pisces is UL and Jupiter is in Pisces aspected by Moon in Virgo.

Strong planets:

1) Sun & Mars are strong in 9th, 10th, & 11th houses (if it's not in enemy/debilitated sign & dispositor is also strong)

2) Moon & Venus are very strong in 4th & 5th houses (but dispositor should also be strong)

3) Mercury is very strong in the 1st & 2nd house. If Venus is in 4th, Sun is in 3rd & Mercury is in 2nd house in a chart, that's the most excellent combination but planets should not be in enemy/debilitated sign, & there should be friendly sign of Sun in the 9th house.

Moreover, Sun & Mercury in the Ascendant is very powerful combination if Saturn doesn't aspect there and Ascendant sign is not enemy to Sun. In this case, Venus should be either in 12th or 1st or 2nd but not in 11th or 3rd houses.

4) Jupiter in the 2nd house in comfortable sign is highly powerful (but it may not be very good regarding wealth if Jupiter rules bad houses)

5) Jupiter in the Ascendant is very powerful (but it should not be in enemy/debilitated sign). Strong Jupiter in the Ascendant may also gives over enthusiasm, ego problem and lack of direction but it gives highly beneficial results to the houses where it rules.

Rahu in the Gemini is always auspicious and powerful in any house.

Ketu in the Sagittarius is always auspicious and powerful in any house.

(Again, intensity of strength always depends upon dispositor's strength)

Rahu in Taurus and Ketu in Scorpion are strong but may not give auspicious results in many cases.

Rahu-Ketu in Kendra (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) houses & KoNa (1st, 5th, 9th) houses are strong if they aren't aspected by any other planets. Auspicious results depends upon sign placement too.

Rahu in 3rd & 6th house is always considered very strong. Ketu in 12th house is always very strong.

Planet in own sign or in exalted sign in D1 & D9 are strong.

Day lord should also be considered strong. Example: Sun is the lord of Sunday.

Planet in 1st & 5th house of D9 is always influential in your life no matter how is strength of that planet in the chart.

Retrograde planet should always be considered strong.

Auspiciousness & strength are different thing. Planet can be auspicious but not strong. Planet can be strong but not auspicious. Example, Mars is not auspicious for Gemini Ascendant even if it's strong. Mars is auspicious for Leo Ascendant doesn't mean it is strong.

Strength depends upon house and sign placement but auspiciousness depends upon house rulership.

You should not think that strong planet always gives good results as stated in scriptures. For example: strong/exalted Sun can also make you narcissist.

The Heinous Life of Serial Killer Ted Bundy

(Vedic Chart Analysis 4)

American serial killer, kidnapper, rapist, burglar, and necrophile who assaulted and murdered numerous young women and girls during the 1970s and possibly earlier. Charismatic and boyishly handsome, he was an "All-American boy" type, always favored and successful with women. He fit the frightening profile of the serial killer, white, male, above average in intelligence, and adroit at wearing a mask of charm and sanity. They are men clever enough to avoid detection as they kill time and time again. Bundy wore the mask better than most, moving in better circles.

What made him a serial Killer?

Let's analyse his chart first. The most striking part for anyone is, scorpio stellium. Scorpio is a martian sign which is very much infamous for hitting you secretly. Well.. That's what serial killers do. Most of his life was lived under shadows killing his victim's without anyone's notice. Rahu is known for illusions and it's placement in 10th house of karma makes his cruel deeds go undetected. Malefics sun, Mars and ketu in 4th house of scorpio adds more misery to his wicked mind. The good planets such as mercury and moon are of no use in 4th house. They don't fill his heart with tenderness. Because mercury is in enemy sign scorpio(as per vedic astrology, mercury and Mars are enemies of each other) and moon is in debilitation. It should also be noted that Saturn is in 12th house. 7th Lord Saturn in 12th house indicates that his interactions with victims happened in isolation. His mask of charm is formed by the conjunction of greatest benefics Jupiter and Venus in 3rd house of Venusian sign Libra. 3rd house is related to communication and presence of Jupiter and venus provides a great charm which couldn't be resisted by any women he used to pick up. The presence of Venus and Jupiter in air sign Libra gives him excellent social skills. It is very interesting to note here that his scorpio stellium is formed by planets in fierce nakshatras like Jyeshtha and Vishakha. His 5th Lord Jupiter is in Rahu nakshatra which corrupts his intelligence totally. His 10th Lord Venus is placed in Vishakha makes him a very committed serial killer. The presence of Saturn in nourishing star Pushya reflects his tragic childhood in which he was pretty much ignored. It made him unkind and unempathetic.

D9 chart shows our dharma and connection with spouse. If we analyse his d9 chart, we can see the exchange of two cruel planets Mars and Saturn. Also, it's the exchange of 10th and 8th Lord which is not regarded auspicious in vedic astrology. His Mars is powerful with exaltation. The mutual aspect of mercury (6th Lord) and Mars(8th Lord) influencing 10th house isn't good either. Let's get into his d10 chart. D10 shows our karmic deeds. His 6th house of enmity is fortified by exalted Mars and ketu. So he faced fierce opposition from victims but he was able to overcome. His 10th Lord venus in 12th conjunct with rahu shows his secrecy in maintaining horrible murders.

The intense part is his strong Mars in d1, d9 and d10 charts. Instead of bravery and courage, his Mars is pushing towards violence. He also got Ruchaka yoga formed by Mars in D1 chart which gives courage and valor. But, in his case, it's filling his mind with criminal instincts in 4th house since it's afflicted by Ketu.

All in all, it's a chart suited for a serial killer. The charm, The intelligence, The calm demeanor, The secrecy, The cruelty, The persistence, The ruthlessness - He got everything for the terrible tasks.

His childhood:

He was the illegitimate son of an unknown sailor and a very religious 22-year-old girl from a respectable Philadelphia family. Ted's mom, Louise, was the oldest of three sisters. When she got pregnant, she was sent away to have the baby at a home for unwed mothers and her shame was never spoken of in the family. For two months, he was left at the home while the family decided whether or not to keep him. It was Grandfather Cowell who made the decision to bring the baby home as their own. With the mystery of Bundy's parentage, it was even speculated that Cowell might have been his biological father. The family secrets were well guarded. His unhappy childhood is marked by afflicted 4th house with sun, Mars and ketu in scorpio. The presence of chaotic planets in the house of home(4th house) makes a person have terrible upbringing. His rahu ketu in 4-10 axis, shows his mother's relationship with his father which is not so good. Only the presence of Venus or Jupiter might have mitigated the viciousness of scorpio in 4th house. But there is no such influence. He was a voyeur by night, sneaking out to peer in windows to watch women undress, a classic early route for rapists and serial killers. He showed other signs of sexual maladjustment, such as excessive and compulsive masturbation. He was a shoplifter and petty thief.

His crimes:

No one knows exactly when Bundy committed his first murder, though he claims that it was in May 1973. His pattern began in earnest in January 1974, just a month after he took his revenge on his coed girlfriend. His crime went on between January 1974 to Aug 1975. It was Venus period and Saturn subperiod. Saturn in 12th house of isolation, Saturn in scorpio navamsa(d9), Saturn in fire sign leo in dashamsha(d10) is a good indicator of his crimes. He underwent through trial in same saturn subperiod as 12th house Saturn indicates jail too. But he escaped prison and was caught again.

Other areas of his life:

He also got married in 8 February 1980. It was ketu subperiod in Venus period. Note that ketu is aspected by 7th Lord Venus in d9. Jupiter was aspecting 7th house in transit. He suffered imprisonment and court cases throughout sun period. The sun is his Gnatikaraka. Obviously, it was destined to be bad for him. He was executed by death at last.

Bundy often employed charm to disguise his murderous intent when kidnapping victims, and with law enforcement, the media and the criminal justice system to maintain his claims of innocence. He was a cunning serial killer. That's all for now. Laters.
