god the trump jury selection process really is my superbowl. i know 95% of you don't follow what's going on with the man but you should look up the staggering levels of diplomacy the currently remaining jurors are displaying.

how it's going: today trump's attorney asked a mexican-born juror who recently became a US citizen if being mexican would have an impact on his potential ruling, because of how this lawyer's client is a giant racist, and the guy was very thoughtfully like, "i..... fail to see how me being mexican affects whether or not a crime was committed.....?"

Btw if you draw the turtles as humans (but also just the turtles in general imo) with light eyes that’s whitewashing. Japanese ppl for the most part have black (dark brown) eyes and for Raph n Mikey (who have black VAs), black ppl typically don’t have eyes any lighter than their skin tone. TECHNICALLY you can make an argument for the twins but also if you do I’m like. Kinda sus of why you’d ever do that. Just give them dark eyes

i've never seen avatar but the na'vi are like. one of THE most boring, fuckable-to-the-average-person aliens ngl, only topped by 'aliens' that are just Humans To The Left. the only thing they have going for them is the fact they're 10 feet tall.

ok but like. if ur alien species is kind of bland looking because of practical constraints but they make up for it in terms of interesting lore and likeable individual characters, thats one thing. ive watched some star trek! im down! for me the thing is that avatar itself like as a story is so generic and unmemorable. nothing about it makes me want to engage with these characters on more than a surface level, and that being the case, the surface should at least be more interesting.

which isnt even to touch on the plot of the first movie having a real white savior x noble savage colonialist era propaganda thinly veiled by the shiny blue veneer of soft scifi vibe going on, even before it was dissected for parts and sold off as disney attractions

another black trans man was murdered on Thursday, February 29, 2024. his name Righteous Torrence "Chevy" Hill. we currently do not know any details other than that he was murdered.

his friend posted two days ago on instagram:

our beautiful black trans brother, 35 year old Righteous Torrence “Chevy” Hill, was murdered in Atlanta, GA this weekend. he went by his nickname ‘Chevy’. he was originally from Macon, GA. he owned Evollusion, which is a black/queer owned LGBTQ+ salon in Atlanta that provided and dedicated full service to specializing in hair, nails, barbering and makeup. growing up as young black queer boys/kids , the barbershop experience can sometimes be a tricky space to occupy, this was something that Chevy understood and wanted to cultivate a space of safety where you can also get the affirming look and style you want, and he did exactly that. Chevy was a beloved son, brother, partner, and father. one of his last posts that had a photo of himself said : “if you truly know me, you know i am a humble, modest, private man, that i love my community, i have the love of God in me and will give the shirt off my back to any soul in need, also i never post pictures of myself, i never give myself credit, that stops today, i am my legacy!” (a close friend of Chevy asked if i could share more then one photo of Chevy, since he never posted photos of himself and in recent years he got the confidence to want to share more photos and now he won’t get the chance to) Chevy, hey king, hey brother, hey angel, thank you for everything, i lové you, we lové you, i’m so sorry. there are a lot of photographers in heaven who will be able to photograph you as the glorious black trans angel that you are. there will be a homegoing service/memorial for our brother

good morning. on the subject of how i handle inappropriate tumblr interactions, this morning i was treated to a comment on one of my posts by the worst kind of person. i'm not gonna go into detail bc it involved mask-off white supremacy that's pretty upsetting. i chose not to respond publicly bc it would give them what they want And be especially upsetting for my friends of color. so instead i scrolled through the blog to see how much hate speech there was, & then i submitted a detailed report to tumblr staff about how the blog violated both the hate speech And terrorism policies. (because..... uh.... it did.)

just blocking people in cases like this is totally fine, given that looking at their posts tends to be upsetting. however i am possessed by a desire to commit violent atrocities at any given moment, & putting together detailed hate speech reports helps soothe that urge. if i didn't do Anything, i'd be angry and fantasizing about murder all day. as is, i'm satisfied to have hopefully murdered their blog & made them feel just a little more oppressed, and now i'm gonna move on with my day.

developing this skill is essential if you have a space where you regularly interact with online strangers. i Highly encourage you guys to take a similar approach when you encounter reactionary trolls who want to be suicide baited.

now i'm gonna go have breakfast!
