Okay so. All of these questions are for the Kaiju Au.

Is the MC able to understand the kaiju or vice versa?

Why some of the categories in a few characters marked as unknown?

Do the kaiju have any human resemblance or are just 100% monstrous?

How does the MC gets close to the whole cast without being eaten?! I know they have the serum were they smell like a hatchling, but some species of animals don’t care about that and still eat or kill their newborns.

What was their first encounter with the Hearts gang and who was the first?

My, my, my! So many good questions~! OvO Let’s see if we can answer these!

First: at the moment, the MC/reader cannot understand what the Kaiju are saying save for the few who managed to mimic certain words (which is very few, and even then, they rarely use the words in the first place). Similarly, the Kaiju cannot understand the MC’s words. They do, however, recognize body language, facial expressions, and even tones of voice.

According to the researchers, there had been some speculation on whether or not it’s possible to teach them to speak, with certain Kaiju appearing to be skilled mimics (aka Ace, Jamil, Rook, Lilia, and Crowley). Unfortunately, due to funding and resources being limited, people had to be rearranged to different projects and left a virtual skeletal crew of one to try and continue this. So, it never really progressed beyond the few recordings of the researchers testing the Kaiju’s responses to specific words.

To answer your question about those with unknown categories, I based that mostly on the fact that we know very little to nothing of the magical skill of the characters in game (aka the staff for example). By extension, this means that they are the most reclusive and confusing of the Kaiju that the researchers have been studying, to the point that they don’t even know what category to put them under in the first place. Compared to the others who have been recorded fighting one another, there are those who either have not shown what their abilities are or haven’t had to demonstrate it.

For example, the other Kaiju will stop fighting if say Crowley or Crewel were to intervene, though it’s been noted to resemble a scolding before the two groups are separated. For those like Malleus and Lilia though, it’s because one has only partially been studied due to his reclusive nature (Malleus) while the other rarely seems interested in participating in any fighting and seems more inclined to watch (Lilia) and only intervening if it gets dangerously close to turning deadly.

When it comes to the Kaiju’s designs appearance-wise, for the most part their faces are more beastly than human (Crowley being an example given his head is more crow/raven than humanoid), but there are quite a few who have some semblance of their human faces! I’ve gotta sit down and do some sketches, but it can be a bit of a mix where they have either completely beastly faces (in which case it would be easy to tell who is who, like Crowley, Crewel, Malleus, and Jack for example), or they’ll have humanoid faces that look close to how they appear in game with some monster features (like off the top of my head: Cater and Riddle!). To put it simply, there’s about a 75-80% chance that the majority of them will bear little physical resemblance to their humanoid selves in game, while the remaining percentage will have humanoid traits.

As I mentioned before in another post, the serum won’t last forever and will likely wear off eventually. By that time, however, this will have given Yuu/MC/the Reader enough time for Grim, Crowley/Nevermore, and Crewel/Crewelfang to adopt them into the pack. Of course, Crowley, being the caretaker he is, would likely be the one who pretty much adopted the MC and, on occasion, near constantly gets assistance from Crewel to make sure they’re taken care of. This, in effect, means that the MC has not one, but two giant Kaiju in their corner to stare down/scold any of the other Kaiju packs thinking of hurting or eating the tiny human. Granted, this doesn’t guarantee that there aren’t some who’ll try and push their luck (like Floyd), but if anything, they at least have a better chance of getting close to a Kaiju without getting eaten!

The moment MC finds their weak spots for scritchies like they did Grim, though? Hoo boy, some of these Kaiju are going to demand more! Such a dilemma when MC is so small, so their hands and arms are going to be very tired before long. Grim is by far the easiest to pet, though! 🤣

As for the first encounter with Heartslabyul and who was the first one they met…well, technically, their first encounter was in the second chapter in the valley. But their official encounter with any of the Heartslabyul gang happens a few days after the valley incident when Yuu and Grim try to sneak away from the den while their “guardians” are either away or asleep, and it just so happens to be Ace/Slyfang that comes across them first and takes them to the Heartlands territory!

You can imagine the sheer amount of scolding that he got from both Riddle/Ragebloom and Crowley/Nevermore and Crewel/Crewelfang gave him afterwards. 😅 But in a way it worked out in Yuu’s favor as this led to more curiosity from the other Kaiju, so they wound up getting new visitors wanting to see them (and this is how they discovered that Cater’s/Flashwing’s moth and feather fluff is much softer than Crowley’s feathers…they temporarily got lost in the floof several times before the others realized that Yuu was fond of Cater’s coat and let them just enjoy nap time).

Honestly, the sheer amount of chaotic shenanigans as Yuu tries to befriend these giant creatures is going to be hilarious and absolutely terrifying! But hey, at least they’ll have a whole army of Kaiju to carry them around the island and protect them from the smaller scavenger creatures. Yuu is literally that one picture of a mama doggo curled up around a single pup: the safest human in the world~!

Hii, I stumbled upon a Persona 5 manga dub video that was a re-upload by someone else, and someone under a comment of the guy who voice acted Joker in that dub said the creator of it was the creator of Hungertale and they deleted their video/channel because some verbose people kept asking for more when they didn't want to, and since you're the creator of Hungertale, I just wanted to know, was that you?

(PS: I'm really sorry if this is a sensitive topic, I just want to know because the comment is 3 years old and most likely misinformation, and the video is Maid Of Gentleness by Rhonin)

Hi! I just checked out the exact video and at least in the comment thread I found no one actually stated that someone else was the creator of Hungertale.

For reference, the person who did the Hungertale dub in question is indeed the one credited at the start of the p5 video, and is someone who asked for permission for dubbing my comics each time and gave proper credit and was very respectful of me. They also did fantastic edits and clearly put a lot of effort into casting to make the dubs shine :> I don't know where they are now, but I hope they're doing well!

tl:dr; there's actually no issue involved here that I can find! That said, thank you for informing me just in case there had been ( ovo)b

i used to sit down and translate random pm lines all the time back in da day, but i have no idea where i jotted them all down but i will try scrawling a few things i remember off the top of my head... i am going to start off strong w dimentio, i think a lot of ppl already know he speaks in a fairly feminine-way-for-a-man, with ♡'s and ~'s n all... he also has lil variations of referring to the cast (eg: L-rin, mademoiselle peach. he drops this habit by the end of the game, simply calling them by name) generally polite, mixed w some french. there is also this infamous line that i see a lot of both jpn fans/lpers going ?!?! at:

「フフフ…キミはボクだけのものだ…ルイージ！だから一緒に…」

^ for anyone who wants to play arnd w google translate lawll. in eng, he simply says, 'i have you now…luigi!!' or something. but here i think he's saying 'hehehe, you belong only to me…luigi! so, let's do this together'. i've watched lpers be like 'what?? does he like luigi/whoaaa yandere...' and his fanwiki is tagged under 'ホモ疑惑' so.....make of that what u will....yaoi wins <3

mimi uses 'atashi' to refer to herself, somewhat casual/feminine, speaks in third person in front of the count, and switches to an exaggerated kansai dialect when angered. basically the punk anime boy voice (the english trope equivalent would usually b a brooklyn or texan accent)

((i think the best examples i can think of that fit this archetype are aquarius from fairy tail(speaks in kansai when berating lucy, but speaks all cutesy in front of her bf), or keima's mum from twgok (speaks in a fairly pleasant way, switches to kansai when angered bc of her past of being involved in a biker gang.) maybe a better known one would be celestia ludenberg's whole situation, but I'm not sure if hers is kansai <--going off topic))

for perspective, like i mentioned, tape speaks in the exact same way. they even repeat similar crass phrases: " カクゴしとけや～！！" (which i think means 'be prepared/to die' IDK IN ALL HONESTY but they sound v similar in audio. which i think is fun ovo)

her fanwiki brings up 'burriko' in re: to all that. it's a term for women who put on a childish act 'in front of men', but have a completely different personality in other settings. which i think is rlly inch resting.. the wiki page for this term calls this 'a set of tools employed to mask the self...' so i think it rlly adds an extra layer to the whole 'mimi acts fake to get what she wants' thing. slay honestly

i'll try making a separate post of other small things i discovered...like, i know something mimi says to set peach off is calling her 'oba san' which i thought was a lil hysterical. anyway disclaimer im not a jpn speaker so i may not be the most reliable but ! this is just for fun anyway ! im rlly glad ur interested anon and i hope this was insightful to u !!!

QUICK HEADS UP! I'm tweaking this a little, because my brain was low-key fried and the whole time visualised only a "male-coded" kind of Troy, completely skipping over the fact that there are also "female-coded Troys" out there. Once realised this "f-up", I decided to "update" this musing to include also that counterpart.

I'll be referring to the two versions as "Troy" and (even though it may sound so bad to my ears) "Troyette". INB4: Why would anyone have two different approach to the same issue? The answer is simple: it wouldn't be uncommon for Troy(ette)s to turn the table around so that they would look like the victim. Sadly, it appears that f"emale abusers "Troyettes" can have a small advantage in this than their male counterparts, especially when they try to frame someone of the opposite sex. I figured even our bachelors would know this all too well, therefore adjusting their reactions accordingly, while the ladies would just not give two 💩 and potentially go on a rampage all the same.

(Which also means that yes. Not all reactions are being tweaked.)

In no particular order:

Elliott: As per last fic uploaded, both with a Troy and Troyette he wouldn't be able to intentionally hurt thethem. He would still take advantage of the size difference between himself and the other to scare the livin' 💩 out of them (I'll die on the "Elliott is 6ft tall" hill), although being very careful to keep some distance between himself and a Troyette, just in case she would even think about trying to play the victim afterwards. Bonus point for being an active writer, therefore incidentally and constantly "training" himself on which words to use and when. ("The pen is mightier than the sword", after all.)

Sam: His (over?)protective instincts would instantly kick in and he would feckin' deck & pound the Troy on the spot. There might be need for a couple people to get his rabid arse off of that jerk too. He would try to keep the quietest demeanour as possible with a Troyette, partly because he knows how female abusers are underrated and partly because his parents (mostly his mother, probably) have ingrained the "boys shouldn't hit the girls, no amtter what" kind of belief.

Shane: Might headbutt the Troy in the mouth, without a warning. He might or might not also wield an empty glass bottle like a one-handed club. He would look intimidating doing so, but he would never dare to actually smash the bottle against the other's head. Maybe. When dealing with a Troyette he could put on his best unfriendly and unapproachable scowl while demaning the other to "fucking leave before I call the cops".

Alex: He's been training to become a pro gridball player, therefore he could knock the Troy out simply by tackling him to the ground. He might be later spotted dragging the barely conscious Troy to the train station to chunk his sorry bum on the first train headed to the city, as if "the fuckin' incel" was made of thin air. Which shouldn't be much of a surprise, considering how ripped Alex would be. He would probably turn the opposite way when dealing with a Troyette instead. Pounding "a poor woman" and potentially getting himself into serious troubles is definitely not advisable. Alex would try to reason with the other instead; if the Troyette started to be more hostile and try to hit him too, he would take every single blow in like a boss, only trying to put some distance and threatening to call the authorities.

Harvey: The doc seems the kind to despise all forms of violence and he also looks the exact opposite of intimitading. He would try a pacific approach at first, telling the Troy to kindly leave the town. If the other is persistent, Harvey might then threaten to call the authorities to have him forcibly removed from the town. If the other insists still, Harvey also has a vaste knowledge of the human body anatomy; the doc may hate himself afterwards for hurting another person, but in that moment he would give the other either a single kick or punch to some specific nerves (the thighs would be the perfect target), leaving the Troy on the ground in a fetal position for quite a while. There might or might be not an howling Troy too, depending on his level of pain tolerance, to the point of leaving the others to low-key wonder if Harvey had just tried to eviscerate the Troy instead. But no, it's merely a bruised quadriceps femoris muscle. Extremely painful but definitely not life-threatening. Y'all can chill, now. Things wouldn't change much when dealing with a Troyette. Same step-by-step approach, but eventually he would actually go for the phone call instead of trying to hit a nerve.

Sebastian: He's not exactly as imposing as some writer and also kinda scrawny. Theoretically he wouldn't look like much of a threat, but he has a secret ace up his hoodie's sleeve: a resting bitch face. The Troy may already cower at the sight of Sebby's (accidental) homicidal glare. Then the Troy would flee for the hills at the mere sound of the coldest "buzz the fuck off and don't make me hunt you down" ever. He might or might not really mean that latter part. He owns a bike and is also a tech wiz; theoretically it would be a piece of cake to track the Troy down with an online research and pay him a "surprise visit" back. But Sebby would also have this funny feeling that all that would be called "stalking". In the end he might feel tempted to take that kind of action, but would refrain from putting it into practice. Things stay the same in case of a Troyette. Seb simply wouldn't give two 💩 about the other potentially trying to get him into troubles. After all, he would also have a few witnesses on his side to prompty prove a Troyette's words wrong.

Leah: Similarly to Sam, she would go instantly and absolutely apeshit, be them Troy or Troyette. She wouldn't hesitate to make a blunt weapon out of the first thing she could rip off with her bare hands, be it a tree branch or a big rock yanked from the ground. There would be need for more than a couple people to hold her rampaging arse back. The same people would also be the ones actually and kindly suggesting the Troy(ette) to leave the town and never come back or so may Yoba help them next time.

Haley: Might first murderise both Troy and Troyette's eardrums with her high-pitched, bloody-murder screams. She might or might not also take off one of her pretty shoes and try to stab them with the heel (with a bonus of trying to rip chunks of hair off of Troyette's head, if it's long enough); it would take only one person to hold a furious Haley back.

Emily: Precious, little Emily. She would probably cry a waterfall, as if she had been the one personally hurt. She wouldn't try to hurt the Troy(ette) herself, but you can tell she and Haley are sisters from the volume of her yelled cusses. She might or might not need for a valerian infusion tea in the aftermath (and probably a few hours of relaxing meditation).

Abigail: Once her brain has processed the shock, she won't hesitate to keep the Troy(ette) at knife point. It would be merely a tiny, pocket knife, the blade might be a little dull as well, but it would be still enough to get Abby's point across quite effectively.

Maru: Would try to not let on how terrified she is, trying to think what Sebby (and/or her father) would do in a similar situation. She would then resort to grab her own phone, threatening both Troy and Troyette to call the autorities this instant if they don't leave immediately. She would even show the other the already dialed number, all she would need to do would be to just start the call. After the Troy(ette) would be gone, Maru would talk with her S/O about filing a restraining order. Just in case.

Penny: Initially she would look at the Troy(ette) as if they had just murdered her firstborn before her eyes. Then she might cry a waterfall while telling the other what a horrible person they are, how could they be so cruel with their own partner, that was so terrible, what if someone did the same to one of their friends or relative, they should be ashamed of themselves, and so forth. In an accidental twist of events, in the end it would be the S/O to try and comfort Penny first (Penny would still comfort her S/O back, as soon as she would regain control over her nerves).

WIP Wednesday #1 - NaNo 2023

Have a short wip of my nano 2023 project, the ending to my ongoing fic, Getaway Car! Starting off with the chapter I'm going to put between the current chapters 9 and 10, making it the new 10.

No editing since it's NaNo, and she's extra rough since I've been on a writing break, but it's still just good to be finally working on this \ovo/

Chapter 10

In Which TITLE

(AKA In which the author decided this chapter shouldn't have been left on the cutting room floor)

Cynthia hadn’t given much thought to it when Diantha had asked to do her makeup for her. For weeks now, Dezerea had been doing her makeup, so she figured it would be nothing to have someone else in her face all morning.

Instead of some annoyance or indifference, Cynthia was finding herself more enthralled with the small intimacy of it all. The way Diantha had so carefully set out all her brushes, carefully picking and choosing what to do and when. The delicate touch of ensuring she caused no harm. The way they talked and laughed throughout the whole process.

“You know,” Diantha began, tapping off excess powder foundation from the brush. “Admittedly, I figured if our last scene didn’t force either of our hands, this scene would have been what did it,” she said with a laugh.

Cynthia hummed in agreement.

As much as the bar scene had pushed them over the edge, she was also certain that the fade to black was going to be their mutual undoing.

“I thought you said these scenes aren’t actually that fun to film,” Cynthia said.

Diantha shrugged, leaning back to assess her work. “They’re usually not. Like I said, I usually just get yelled at for not being as into it as I should be, or I’m struggling to listen to the directors yell out directions while also staying in the moment,” she explained.

Cynthia nodded along.

“However,” she began, a grin on her lips. “You would have been the first co-star I did a scene like this when I genuinely wanted to fuck them,” she said, knowing the crassness would get a laugh from Cynthia.

Which it absolutely did.

“I guess in all fairness, you’re the first co-star I’ve wanted fuck, too,” she said, leaning in for a quick kiss. The novelty of getting to do so freely had yet to wear off. It had only been a few days, so not that she had expected it to, but she was content to remind herself of how happy she was that things turned out the way they did.

Diantha laughed into the kiss. “And how many co-stars have you had?” she asked.

Cynthia shrugged, leaning back. “I mean, technically, I have done interviews and group interviews. You could always count that as co-stars. Just maybe different and boring since most of that would have been interviews for my field work,” she said.

Diantha nodded. “I guess I’ll let myself be flattered, then,” she said with a lilt.

“How do you think today will go?” Cynthia asked.

She shrugged. “I honestly don’t know. This will be only my third or fourth time having an intimacy coordinator on set.”

Prior to leaving the previous days’ shoot, Tom and Lita had let them know that they would have an intimacy coordinator on set. At first, it almost upset Diantha. She was positive the lack of one for any scene prior had meant they had hired one at the last second, in what felt like retaliation after what had happened with Alexander.

The rational part of her figured that wasn’t entirely the case. Having an intimacy coordinator on set was a good call in her mind. Their work was relatively new on the film scene, but she had always enjoyed their help. Like any profession, some were better than others, and with it being Cynthia’s first film in general– it was a good call.

Pushing her hair back over her head, Cynthia got herself more comfortable on the bed. “Do you know anything about the intimacy coordinator?” she asked. It wasn’t a job title she was familiar with.

She shook her head. “No, I never saw a name, but…” She shrugged. “It should be fine. Really, their job is to just ensure we’re both comfortable and protected, and that things feel as authentic as they can be. If nothing else, it will give us a good cover for why we’re weirdly comfortable with one another,” she said with a laugh.

“Can’t imagine why,” Cynthia said, leaning in for another kiss.

“Come on, darling, don’t ruin all my work,” Diantha said, nothing in her tone indicating she was actually upset.

It's ONLY an idea and nothing more has come of it yet but it's been rolling around in my head long enough I might as well explain LMAO

The premise is that you (y/n) are an amateur mortician just getting started in the field, and you've recently set up shop in your own hometown - after being gone for nearly a decade - because things there aren't quite right. The number of deaths has recently gone up and, worse still, the cause of death for most is a complete mystery. Odd circumstances which offer more questions than answers.

You become desperate enough to ask for outside help when things get personal; that is, you call up two private investigators known for their talent in solving the odd and unexplainable. As shit hits the fan and things get scary, it's hard to know who you can trust, but you put your full faith in Sun and Moon.

After all, they solved the case of your very own disappearance.

I have only three/four main ships in my heart but i only want to talk only one here, which obviously is kaishin VvV (sorry but i just love them too much)

For the why,

Because they have the most bond development for me. Call me bias or anything but just watch them! They were strangers and just enemies at first. But slowly they become rivals and friends. They slowly trust each other and now they always help each other out. Other than that, the way they acknowledge each other. Shinichi believed that Kaito could free himself from Amuro back then and Kaito believed in Shinichi to solve his case. I really love thoseeeee you know skskskskks! Then there's the way they excite each other. Just lookkk at Shinichi when he knew KID would make a heist and figured out his trick and Kaito when he knew Shinichi would be thereee and heardddd his deduction. He also made a heist as fun as possible so that he could entertain the detective. You can see the prove in magic kaito anime VvV. The way they lookkkk at each other makes the ship greater. The way everytime they smirk at each other or smileeee at each other. Dude my heart nghh. And their banter tooo everytime after heist, how both of them can annoyed each other. Sighh i love them. Oh and how Shinichi knewwww and sometimes can feelsss who Kid disguises as VvV Not to forget that Kappei Yamaguchi himself also ship them teheee!

For headcanon,

Not much but One, Shinichi is smaller than Kaito. So he needs to tiptoe to kiss Kaito or Kaito needs to tilt up his chin hehe! Two, Shinichi can cook better than Kaito. No i just love this ok! Three, Kaito gets jealous because Shinichi likes to act cute sometimes with other because it's his habit now. Four, Kaito likes to put Shinichi in dress VvV. Five, Shinichi gets jealous with Kaito's fangirls. Six, Shinichi loves Kid's heist but he knows he doesn't need to tell Kaito. Seven, Shinichi tries doing magic trick so he can amazed Kaito. Eight, Kaito has special dove to spy his detective. Nine, Kaito would try to mess with someone's life ifff they try to steal Shinichi away or hurt him hohoho! Lastly, Kaito would blush sometimes whenever Shinichi is too honest with his feelings which really really rare. Oh wait, i kinda the idea Shinichi calls Kai or Kai-chan when he tries to get his magician's attention after reading that one fic HAHAHAHAHAH! Sorry another one, Shinichi doesn't think KID as criminal OvO

32. Something you wish people understood about your identity?

oh gosh. there’s a lot! and there’s a lot i don’t even understand myself!! :0 But .. a big one for me is that.. yes i am transmasc yes i am a femme,, as in EXPLICITLY femme lesbian!! No other sense of the word. a noun, not an adjective. a way to refer to Me entirely!! (i fucking adore when i see this and would LOVE to have it for myself someday - to be called someone’s femme, as in “my femme”, in place of any other word………it Just. feels so holy and lovely and Right. Soo outrageously lesbian)

i love being called a boy + am one sometimes (genderfluid). i love using he/him pronouns and they’re often the most comfortable out of all my sets no matter how im feeling. i love my body hair sooo much so bad + i do want to go on T someday for that reason (+ many others 💘) + all of this wouldn’t really make you think Femme, and that upsets me sometimes, but this is literally .. what makes me feel good + pretty + confident in myself + HAPPY !!! When i first figured out i was a femme lesbian it felt so so right + homely to me (still does) + if it helps my case i swoon over butches @ any given occasion ww 💗💗 i love.. fitting into this rich and vibrant community i love using these terms for myself i love being a femme full stop . i am also autistic and nonbinary which i feel factors into my understanding of gender a good deal!!

This had to take a long time to boil everything down so every single part meshed together it takes talent to do this

I’m inarticulate right now I’m currently just yelling into the void (and screaming at my buddy on Discord because OH GOSH)

But every little thing, dialogue, art, some little toy, some comment--they all mesh together and build up so it tells a story but COMPACTLY

It doesn’t treat the viewers like idiots

You legitimately have NO IDEA how important this is and how stinking REFRESHING it is I swear

There’s no twist for twist’s sake, it all comes from some aspect, be it world politics or individual characterization

You can be watching this and guessing and when it goes together you’re nodding and going I get it instead of staring at the screen going wut

But uhhhh this is getting long so maybe more screaming later

But on an instance of tight storytelling that also builds up--evil dude and the eye-thing

Which also is a case of characterization meeting intrigue because it gets the viewer asking questions and staying tuned
