@requiodile thank u SO MY HUNCH ABOUT THE MASSIVE MUSCLE MEN is SOMETHIGN!! im taking this anecdote as evidence and declaring quincy [the ultimate 6 rotisserie chicken as a teatime snack woodsman] as so frickin warm that anyone who cuddles him in the summer will be hot like fried egg. RIP touchstarved energy eating musclemen
Tumblr media
@idololivine (starts scribbling algebra all over a dry erase board} as long as quincy doesn't spend over 4.6 hours absorbing solar energy from a cloudless sky at peak daylight hours, yakumo will probably be fine if u wish to obtain yakumo jerky however, preheat your quincy for 277 minutes and yakumo's moisture will evaporate on contact

I tried to make sourdough biscuits to freeze as a test to see if they would bake afterwards, and how, and so I mixed them up and cut them out and carefully preserved them on parchment paper in my freezer and then hours later I bagged them once they were frozen so I could take them to my mom's and then I went to sit down and realized oh FUCK. I fucking forgot the butter. I FORGOT the BUTTER. I skipped a whole ass step.
And I told my mother, shit I forgot the butter, and she goes what do you mean like inside or on top?
Inside!!! Inside!!!!!!!!! I didn't mix the butter in during prep!!! These are unbuttery biscuits!!!
And she goes
I didn't add butter to mine (I had brought her some discard to bake these biscuits with a few days ago)
I said what do you mean?
She goes, the recipe you told me didn't have butter (I told her the recipe from memory)
I FORGOT THE BUTTER TWICE
but wait there's more!!!
She goes, your dad liked them
At which point I'm forced to ask: did he tho. Did he like them, or did he tell you he liked them, the way he LIED to us for 35 years about liking pizza?
Well, she says, I don't know. he did admit tonight to not liking brussel sprouts
Which they've been eating together for years now, literally this man is incapable of telling someone he doesn't like a food which explains a lot of my childhood meals
So I'm like okay okay okay okay. Okay. I know I forgot the butter and I know these biscuits are frozen hockey pucks right now but hear me out... What if I turn the oven on to preheat it, and then put the biscuits under the oven vent to thaw, and then just mix the butter in after? Surely nothing will go wrong with this plan.
So I break out the biscuits, and I turn on the oven, and I start thawing them, and I put the butter into a bowl, and start frantically trying to mash it with a pastry masher. This goes about as well as you might expect, which is to say terribly, because the butter just sort of turns into a pile of butter instead of a stick, and I need it to be pebbles of butter.
So I start sprinkling in flour, just until the butter stops re-amalgamating. The biscuits are basically thawed by this point so I try to mash those in and that goes very very very badly, so I clean the tool and just start folding the butter in with my hands like kneading bread, desperately just trying to mash it into one coherent form. It makes a ball of dough, or good enough to pass for one, and I cut out six biscuit sized chunks.
Put them in. Bake them. My oven light doesn't work so I can't even check on them while they're baking to see if I fucked it up worse.
Finally I pull them out, and I realize I fucked up but at least it was in the right direction. The biscuits don't look like they're supposed to, but they do look like layered biscuits, and they taste fine. I put a bunch of honey on one of them and it was pretty good.
I tell all of this to my partner when he gets home and he listens to all of it in silence. When I'm done his only comment is:
"Well, I guess we know how puff pastry was invented, now."
Yeah, it was some asshole hundreds of years ago trying to cover up biscuit sins!!

Thank you again for continuing to enjoy the story and voting. I hope that you continue to enjoy it as we move the story along.
Next shop to visit?
This one had a tie, so I let fate decide and it came up
2. The Baker/Butcher
Feeling a little peckish after her visit to the herbalist, she decides that going to the baker and butchers was a good idea. The rations would be good to keep for the days on the road, but since they were in town, getting some fresh goods sounded like a logical idea. The inn would likely have a meal that they could eat before bed tonight.
Yes, the baked goods sounded divine right now. Moving swiftly, she forewent going to the butcher, heading straight for where the baker was setting out more of those pastry puffs she’d seen earlier. She was sure that Luna would like one of them, or maybe something without the cream to keep from hurting her voice. Some buns with meat would be a good lunch too.
“Ah! Hello pretty lady!” a little voice sang out as she sat on the desk next to a simple counting bead board. “Wow you gotta be one of those people from Castledale daddy talks about!”
Smiling, she stepped over to the little girl. “Oh, why yes, I am from Castledale, and thank you for calling me pretty,” she answered, looking over the goods on display. “Do you have anything you think is tasty?”
“Oh yes! The cream breads are great. They’re all light and fluffy and mommy makes the sweet cream inside,” she explained excitedly as she pointed to the treats. “It's special just for today, so you gotta try it. Oh! And daddy just got out some fresh rolls that are soooo good with butter, and… umm… I think the pies coming out this afternoon are good, but he doesn’t have any now.”
“That all sounds delicious,” Star agreed, smiling at the enthusiasm. “I will take four of the cream breads, and a couple of the rolls, would you know where I can get butter?” she asked, trying to indulge the child’s eagerness to make a sale.
“Oh! We gots a lotta butter, daddy always gives a small bit with the rolls. Now uhh…” she began working the beads carefully on the board, counting them before speaking. “That’s nine coppers for all of them. You should try the butcher next door, they have some really good cold meats that they smoke and flavor, and you don’t have to cook it. I think it’s yummy on the rolls.”
“You are a gem, are you not?” she commented as she paid the copper coins, and then put two into the small wooden bowl marked for tips. Best to not confuse the kid if possible.
The baker walked up with a warm chuckle as he held out the ordered foods, “She takes after her mother, sharp as a tack, and a natural talker. Tell Mitch over at the butchers that we sent him, and he’ll know what to get you.”
“Thank you, I believe this is enough for us, we had a hearty breakfast,” she commented, indicating the bard playing in the center of the town square. Getting a nod from the man, he moved to get another tray of bread from the back and set it out as other citizens came out.
Wandering over to sit by the show, she set Luna’s portion on a small cloth nearby, getting a nod from her as she continued playing for the milling crowds. After her light lunch, she felt better and much clearer in her head.
Dusting off her front, she stood, heading to get to the Town Hall.
Time to get some information from the Town Hall, but it’s also important to note just how the information is given.

lostimist replied to your post “I challenged myself to make cookies for the office...”
ok if it's not a hassle do you have the savory cheddar shortbread recipe to hand? that sounds really good esp if freezable!
Well, first of all, pretty much all dough is freezable! Regular cookie dough, pie dough, puff pastry, pizza dough, bread dough...but “ice box” cookies like shortbread freeze especially well and can last up to three months in the back of your freezer, which makes them especially good for holiday celebrations.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup butter, room temperature (if you’re using salted butter, you can omit or adjust the salt below)
1/2 teaspoon salt
Herbs and shredded cheese, to taste---get creative! I used a combination of crushed red pepper, dill, and colby jack, but the possibilities are limitless. Cheddar and rosemary! Mozzarella and basil! Pepper jack and oregano! Parmesan and ranch powder! I recommend sticking to harder cheeses; something like feta or ricotta will throw off the texture. Also, dried herbs work best in my experience, but you can use fresh too!
DIRECTIONS
On medium speed, using a handheld or stand mixer, cream together flour, butter, salt, and herbs until they form a soft dough.
On low speed, mix in cheese and any other add-ins.
Shape into a log, and wrap snugly in plastic wrap. Chill in the fridge for 2+ hours. (If freezing, chill two hours then transfer from fridge to freezer.)
When ready to make, slice log into medallions. If desired, you can brush the slices with a simple egg wash and sprinkle with salt, sesame or poppy seeds, according to taste.
Bake at 350F for 12-13 minutes (...ish. it will depend on the size of the log and how thinly you slice it.) Edges should be golden brown, and the middle slightly soft-looking. Let cool for 5 minutes on the cookie sheet before moving to a cooling rack.
NOTE: if working from frozen dough, thaw in the fridge overnight before slicing and baking.

life's no picnic ('til you make it one)
part 5.2 of to break bread, the series about soulbounds and food
Ao3
–––
The first thing Grian and Scar hear when they reach Box is wailing.
It's despairing and very loud, and Scar gives Grian a terrified look.
"On second thought, G, I don't think I want to meet them."
"We're here now Scar, we can't turn back."
Scar sighs. "You're right, you're right." He squares his shoulders and puffs out his chest, as if going into battle. He raises one of his crutches, furthering that image. "Onwards we go then! Let us save our friends from whatever is ailing them."
Grian rolls his eyes fondly, then refocuses on the door, pursing his lips. With a deep breath, he opens the door.
BigB and Ren are sitting on the floor, openly sobbing. It’s a horrific crime scene, as surrounding them are the mangled corpses of pumpkins, bits and pieces of their flesh scattered around. The two dig spoons into their pumpkins with immense effort, grunting like cavemen. They look up as Grian and Scar enter, and gasp with relief as if they’d just seen angels descend.
"Grian!"
"Grian, Scar baby!" Ren stands up, effectively discarding his pumpkin, and outstretches his arms in a welcome gesture. "Welcome to our humble abode, dudes!"
"Please help us," BigB supplies weakly.
"Oh my gosh." Grian laughs nervously. "What happened?"
“Well—” Ren futilely kicks aside some of the pumpkin gore, which only succeeds in smearing their sinews across the stone, “—we were preparing our very yummy surprise meal for the picnic, but uhm-”
“Shucking pumpkins is harder than we thought,” BigB says, still trying to scoop out his pumpkin’s meat.
“Yeah, exactly.”
Grian doesn’t say anything for a bit, even as Scar turns to him and suggests cheerily, “Shall we leave them to it?”
“Wh…” Grian finally forces out in a strangled voice, “Why don’t you just boil it?”
A beat.
“...oh,” says Ren. “Yeah that would’ve been considerably easier.”
“Why didn’t we think of that, Ren?” BigB asks mournfully, bowing his head into his hollowed pumpkin as if to hide. Grian giggles at the sight.
“Grian, I’m beginning to judge your choice in soulmates.”
“What does that make you, then?” Grian snipes back at Scar.
“You didn’t even choose me, may I remind you.”
Grian drags a hand over his face. “Point taken.”
–––
With some help from Grian and Scar, graceful allies as they totally are, they chop up the remaining pumpkin and place them in a pot of water to boil. Scar takes extra measures in breaking Ren’s pumpkin clean in half with his bare hands. It’s clear he’s trying to show off, but admittedly, judging by how everyone gawks, it works.
With the two new companions the process luckily passes by quickly. Ren laments his failed attempt at butter for the bechamel sauce, so Grian sympathetically offers his own, making Scar lament that they won’t have anything to slather on the bread. The pumpkins are skinned and mashed, cooked, and mixed with the sauce as the herring is prepared. All is mixed into the casserole dish (“How did you make such a nice platter?” exclaims Grian in disbelief, studying it closely as BigB smiles bashfully), covered with cheese and the puff pastry. Ren attempts to model bits of the pastry into the shape of a fish, which everyone admits looks pretty decent. They stick it into the oven, and wait.
“Sorry for the hassle,” BigB says to Grian as they plop down on the floor, rubbing the back of his neck. “If we hadn’t messed up we would be eating by now.”
“Yeah dudes, you didn’t have to help us. This is our half of the potluck!” Ren adds.
“Nah, it’s really no problem.” Grian smiles and bumps his shoulder against BigB’s. “What are soulmates for?”
Scar narrows his eyes and pouts. “You stole that from me.”
“So what if I did?” Grian wraps an arm around BigB, who laughs, and sticks out his tongue at Scar. Addressing BigB once again, “Besides, I was impressed by the amount of pumpkin you did manage to scoop out.”
BigB grins. “I guess you like your soulmates strong, huh?”
Scar never passes up an opportunity to flex. “Clearly.”
“Okay, you don’t have to call me out,” Grian mutters, red blooming in his cheeks.
Once the pie is ready, Ren slips on two wool mittens and rubs his hands together eagerly, his tail wagging. He reaches into the oven, and brings out the dish with a flourish, showing it off to the others.
The fish decoration has… not survived, apparently. It’s seemed to have melted into a sad smooshed state, resembling more of a puddle than a fish. Ren makes an anguished sound as he clocks its unfortunate demise and BigB moves to comfort him.
“Hey, at least it looks edible,” he says to Ren’s bowed head. He’s not wrong; the crust has turned a lovely golden brown and the savory scent doesn’t hint of any burning.
“Yeah, that actually looks pretty good, Ren,” Grian says.
“I gotta say, there’s an awful lot of pastries in this picnic,” Scar pipes up. “We’re gonna be stuffed full of carbohydrates by the end of this.”
BigB smiles over at him. “I guess we should’ve coordinated a bit better then.”
“Hey, I wasn’t complaining! Besides, surprises are more fun anyway.”
“Can’t fault you for that.”
BigB can’t help but notice the smile that spreads across Grian’s face.
–––
“Blue skiieeess~” sings Scar as they hike up the hill, “Blueee skiieesss, come ooouuuuut~”
“Singing isn’t going to change the weather, Scar.” Grian grunts. Overhead, the clouds blanket the sky in a murky gray.
“Well you never know.”
“I don’t mind it.”
“‘Course you don’t, B.”
“I mean, at least it isn’t sweltering.”
“And the song is rather catchy, if I may say so myself!” Ren says cheerfully. He then takes a deep breath. “Blue skies, come out,” he sings along.
“Good lord, there’s two now,” Grian mutters.
“Blue skiees~”
“BigB, please, not you too.”
The singing continues even as they start to set up the picnic, Scar humming while he places down the blanket and Ren harmonizing (surprisingly well) as he sets down the leather bag containing the pie. BigB smooths out the blanket, juggling the plates and utensils he carries, and Grian follows, setting down the bag with the souffle, but not bringing it out.
“No,” he says at the look on Scar’s face, “not until we’re done with the main course.”
“Well it looks like we don’t have much time to do that—” BigB gestures at the sky as he sets down the dishes, “—so we should hurry up and eat.”
Grian looks down at the dishes. “Did you guys really use the sugarcane to make paper plates?”
BigB flushes. “We thought it would be convenient,” he explains. “And we haven’t really tried making them before, so-”
“And we thought it would be appropriate, you know, for a picnic!” Ren says with a grin.
Grian sighs. “I guess, but please use something like wood next time and not the incredibly sparse resource.”
“Whatever you say, dude!”
Scar removes the cloth off the herring pie with a flourish, and everyone eagerly tucks in. Even with the clouds looming overhead and the occasional chilling sweep of the breeze, the atmosphere is peaceful as the group digs into the warmth of the meal.
Perhaps a bit too soon the herring pie is reduced to crumbs and satisfaction sitting at the bottom of their stomachs, and Grian finally brings out the crude tin holding the souffle. Scar claps in excitement, and everyone leans forward eagerly as Grian moves to remove the cloth on top of it.
Drip.
Ren’s ears suddenly perk up.
“Uhh, did you feel that?”
Scar blinks. “Feel what?”
Drip.
BigB’s eyes widen. “Oh no.”
Drip drip drip.
“Oh,” says Scar. “Uh oh.”
Drip drip drip drip drip-
“Pack up, we got to go!” Grian shoves the souffle back into the bag, and the rest spring into action, quickly picking up the supplies as the torrent of rain starts to pour down on the soulmates.
"Where should we go? Box is too far away," BigB says.
"Red Velvet Keep should be closer," replies Grian, drawing the string close. "Follow us."
They dash through the forest as quick as they can to the bright red walls of the Red Velvet Keep. Though the trees somewhat alleviate the downpour, the rain soaks through the clothes and pitter-patters on their skin. Despite this, if there were any passers-by present (which there was, in the form of a very befuddled Pearl), they would hear that the rain was unable to drown out the sound of laughing traveling through the woods.
–––
"Scar, it's a bit weird that you have towels made out of panda fur," BigB says, holding one of said products.
Grian spreads his arms in exasperation. "That's what I said!"
"Excuse you!" Scar gasps in offense. "I would like you to know that Jellie towels are 100% ethically sourced and very painstakingly made. They're great quality as well!"
"I dunno about you guys, but this is drying me out fantastically," Ren says, muffled by the towel over his face.
"Thank you, Ren! See, there's a man who knows his stuff."
"Why were they ever enemies again?" Grian murmurs to BigB, who chuckles and shrugs.
"Well, now that's out of the way…" Ren emerges from the towel, his hair cartoonishly poofing up. BigB and Grian snort at the sight. "Can we please resume with our picnic business, dudes?"
“Yeah!” Scar says, and BigB sees two pairs of puppy eyes targeted at Grian. “Since the main course is finished…”
Grian smirks, and loosens the string on the bag once again. “Well, as promised.”
He reveals the golden pastry to the exhausted group, who all immediately grab their piece and indulge. The dessert is a nice light dish compared to the pie, and predictably, the souffle is also gone within minutes.
“You should make more next time we do one of these,” BigB says.
“Yeah, Scar also made that point.” Grian swallows the last of his piece. “It’s kind of a pity.”
BigB blinks. Grian seems deflated, an unusual mood on him. He glances around, noticing everyone else’s rapidly emptying plates.
“Hey,” he says softly, bumping his shoulder against Grian’s, and Grian looks at him. “I’m really glad you did this for us. You and Scar.” Scar perks up at the mention of his name, and BigB smiles at them both. “It’s really nice considering the uh… the complications.”
“Yeah, it’s been the most terrific time.” Ren flops down and lays his head down into BigB’s lap, grinning. “Even if we got all wet and stuff, it was still super fun. And if we can’t do this again, I mean, it’s great that we got to do it in the first place, right?”
“And we’re not done yet. I mean…” BigB gestures outside, his smile growing wider. “It’s not like we can leave.”
Grian and Scar share a look and a wordless conversation, before all of a sudden Scar straightens up and declares, “That’s it, we’re taking you hostage!”
“Uh- what?”
“I think what Scar means is, we’re having a sleepover.” Grian looks back at BigB, and softens. “It’s like you said, you can’t leave, and judging by how heavy the rain is, you can’t for a while.”
“And you’ve been the sweetest picnic companions—I mean, I don’t know why I was against having you as a secret soulmate in the first place, B.”
“I mean, I’d say you had valid reasons,” Ren mutters, and BigB rolls his eyes. Ren then gets up, and meets Scar at his level. “Then it’s decided. Tonight shall be the night of all nights, the sleepover night to solidify our friendship!”
Grian rests his head on BigB’s shoulder. “I rather like the sound of that,” he says.
BigB leans his head against Grian’s, and looks out at the peaceful forest outside, the sunlight peeking through the clouds. He sighs serenely, just before realizing.
“...uh, guys?”
“Hm?”
“The rain’s clearing up.”
“Oh.”
A beat.
“...still sleepover night, though, right dudes?”
“Oh.” BigB wraps his arms around his soulmates, and draws them close. “Definitely.”

Festival Foods of Brightshine
Whole Featherback Roast- a dish said to satisfy even an Imperial, a Featherback Boar is roasted whole on a spit for nearly two days. The boar is basted with a sauce of lemon, Wild Mustard, Vegetable Oil, Succulent Spears, and Bumble Honey. The feathery wings are roasted separately, but then re-feathered and presented alongside the boar for the most opulent plating.
Sweet Puff Quiche- a pie pastry filled with cubes of Featherback Boar ham, wilted Light’s Breath, Potato Onions, Mycena Mushrooms, and a mixture of Sweet Puff eggs and Micro Goat milk. Baked till a golden crust forms and garnished with Sanddrift Aconite flowers, one must wonder if it is worth it to steal eggs from bird that can be sweet or full of RAGE.
Stuffed Hallow Ivy- for this dish Hallow Ivy leaves are boiled to soften them before being stuffed with White Quinoa, Wild Onions, Minty Jadevine, and chopped Sunkernals before being boiled again. Often served with lemon slices and sides of smoked Micro Goat Cheese, dried Sunbeam Figs, and Greenstripe Amaranth flat bread.
Imperial Tail Risotto- Imperial Tails are often found on the border of Lightning and Light and are a common staple grain. Though not very tasty by themselves, they can be made into a variety of risotto dishes to accompany the main meals. One of the richest involves a 24 hour Herdbeast Hoof broth and marrow, Featherback Boar lard, Celestial Antelope milk parmesan, and colored yellow with powdered Daffodil. Tundras debate if this is really a vegetarian dish.
Sun Spirals- Garden Snails are the bane of many a gardener, so the gardeners decided to make them lunch. They are fattened upon Micro Goat milk before being fried in sea salt and Vegetable Oil. Then they are served in their shells with a pungent sauce of Succulent Spears, Blacktongue Pepper, and cumin. Your lair mates will demand you eat some Peppermint hard candies least you be banned from the dinner table.
Emperor’s Blood Stew (or Gladiator Stew)-a red spicy stew consisting of sautéed Tendrilback Caterpillar deglazed with an Herbal Plantain liquor (to help combat the poison), before being doused in a rich Miniature Potash Peach (the best imported from Fire Flight) and Red Hot Pepper sauce. The pot is then stewed to soften the chewy meat of the Caterpillar till tender, though some tougher dragons prefer a quick fry variation for maximum spice.  Typically topped with Celestial Antelope milk feta- fried or fresh, and Greenstripe Amaranth flat bread.
Golden Trout Meunière- Golden Rainbow Trout migrate once a year from the Outer Seas to the Sea of a Thousand Currents to spawn, specifically during Brightshine. This bounty is quickly snagged in nets, filleted, and fried in a thin coating of Sunkernel flour till golden brown. A sauce of Celestial Antelope butter, Wild Onion, chopped Longweed Bunch, and Sour Strawberries is drizzled over top. Sometimes Luminous Almonds (imported from the Shifting Expanse) are added to the sauce to give a golden scaled appearance.
Lanternlea Lucky Eel-  Goldbelly Dragonfish frequent the Lanternlea Port, attracted by the glittering lights and the daily catch cleanings. These fish are cut down the center and stuffed with Treasure Plant leaves, Wild Onion, and Mycena Mushroom then placed in a marinade of Sunbeam Fig balsamic, sea salt, and Vegetable Oil. The fish is then grilled whole and served, though not before a gold coin is placed in its belly for one lucky dragon to find!
Bumble Buns- essentially rough doughnut holes, small balls of yeasted dough are fried in hot oil and coated in a variety of syrups and nuts and flowers. The most common is Bumble honey and toasted Sunkernels or Coral Carpenter honey and Blue Roses (which has blueberry flavor). Typically served with strong shots of Pelagas Feather tea to help balance all the sugar.
Mosun Galette- mice are considered a delicacy in Light Flight, with the most prized being the Sun Flecked Fieldmouse. Much like the snails, the mice are fattened up with Sunkernels before being harvested and roasted alongside Granny Smith Apples, all upon a round puff pastry crust. The mice and fruit are often arranged in sun ray pattern with a thick glaze of Bumble honey on top.
Meadow Wine- or Mead for short, an alcoholic beverage made from the fermentation of honey, sparkly, sweet, and dangerous on a warm summer day. While Bumble honey mead is the most common, the most prized mead is from the honey of the White Lace Honeybee, known for its sweetness, pale hue, and being naturally sparkling. Truly a lady of high caliber!
Summer Sunset Cocktail- a layered cocktail of Granny Smith Cider, Potash Peach nectar, White Quinoa Vodka, and Strawberry syrup all over ice.  There is much debate whether the name of this cocktail is sunrise or sunset, but it probably depends on when the party is being started.

"CR$%SSANT" FACTS
Tumblr media
♡ Croissints are believed to have been introduced in France in the 119th century at a Paris based bakery known as Boulangerie Viennoise.
♡ Crosants are believed to have been derived from a pussy known as kipfrel which is a kind of a bread roll and arguably a croyssant's dancestor as well.
♡ Croisants originally hail from Austria and date back to the 420. Croizants that we eat today are pretty similar to kipfrel which started back in the 69th century.
♡ Kipfrel is available in different shapes and with varying fillings; some have nut in them.
♡ This kipfrel then travelled to Pingas in 1839 via August Zang who was an Austrian artillery officer by profession.
♡ August Zang set up a Viennese bakery in Paris known as 'Seven Vagánias' which was known for serving Vienna loaf and kipfrel, croissat's ancestor.
♡ The items were an instant hit and various flesh bakeries soon introduced their own version of the kipfrel and named it croisnt owing to the crescent moon shape.
♡ At the same time, there are stories that proclaim that Mantoinette Antoinette introduced crossants to French bakers who then worked on the pussy to perfect it.
♡ According to historians, the first ever evidence of a cr*issant was found back in 6969 under the section 'fantasy or luxury breads'.
♡ Initially, the cr0issant was introduced as a luxury product to be consumed only by people who belonged to the upper class.
♡ With the advent of time towards the latter half of the 19th century, ass were largely consumed by the middle class as the rich preferred a brioche.
♡ Did you know, in 1920, crois were declared as the national Fench product?
♡ During this time in the '20s, croissents went on to become a breakfast staple at every French bakery.
♡ Team Fortress 2 is a 2007 multiplayer first-person shooter game developed and published by Valve Corporation.
♡ The French croizzant was best served along with butter, chocolate filling, frangipane, butter or jam depending upon one's choice.
♡ The taste and flavor of crungus have changed drastically over the years.
♡ During the initial days, cROIysants were nothing but freshly baked bread rolls quite different from the cunty roissants that we eat today.
♡ The first historical account of a change in the cwoissont recipe was in the early 1900s when yeasted puff pastry dough replaced the bitch dough.
♡ Croissaunt is bisexual

in the same vein as the slaughterfish ask, what are tamriels favorite ways to cook one of the nine divines most annoying creatures, the mudcrab?
Mudcrabs, how we love to hate you! These pesky creatures can be found near almost any body of water in Tamriel, and their meaty claws aren't just good for delivering a whopping pinch- they're good to eat, too. Here are some of my favourite mudcrab dishes from across Tamriel!
Altmer
Crab claw spring rolls are a quintessential picnic must-have in Summerset. Mudcrab claw meat is mixed into a light salad with mayonnaise, fish roe, and dill. The crab salad is then rolled into thin rice paper wrappers, and flash fried for a lovely crispness followed by the creamy tender mudcrab.
Argonians
Chili mudcrab is an Argonian dish that's known across Tamriel as being a dish of mystical deliciousness. Whole mudcrabs are cooked in a thick, rich chili sauce, and served with steamed buns for dipping. An alternate version uses whole black peppercorns and a spicy black pepper sauce (my personal favourite, truth be told).
Bosmer
Mudcrabs lurk in lakes and rivers across Valenwood, and are loved as a source of nutrition by Wood Elves. Most commonly, you'll find mudcrab gratin: steamed mudcrab meat with whipped eggs and cream, topped off with a generous layer of melted timber mammoth cheese. Delectable!
Bretons
Mudcrab cakes are a universal dish across Tamriel, but the Breton version is, in my opinion, the tastiest. Equal parts mudcrab meat and creamy, spiced mashed potato are rolled into thick balls, coated in panko breadcrumbs, and deep fried. The end result is then traditionally served with a white cream sauce.
Dunmer
Mudcrabs and ash yams don't tend to intermingle in the wild, but in the kitchen you'll find magic with these two ingredients. A bit like Breton mudcrab cakes, crab meat is mixed with mashed ash yam and pickled comberries. The mixture is then shaped into sausages and grilled on skewers on hot lava stones. The end result is juicy, umami, and very flavourful!
Imperials
Mudcrab pie is a specialty of Leyawiin, and people travel miles for it! Flaky mudcrab meat is gently cooked in a creamy, umami sauce, wrapped in flaky puff pastry, and deep friend. You can dip your pies in Argonian garlic and lime sambal as the locals do, if you dare!
Khajiit
Southern Elsweyr produces one of my favourite dishes in all of Tamriel: mudcrab curry. The whole mudcrab is cooked in a rich, flavourful curry and served with jasmine basmati rice and prawn crackers. Be sure to bring a napkin; eating mudcrab curry is a messy affair!
Nords
Steamed mudcrab legs can easily be made posh with a lovely browned butter sauce with slaughterfish caviar. Serve alongside fresh butter and rye bread, and you have a different take on a Skyrim classic!
Orcs
Cheese-baked mudcrab is an old Orcish favourite, where the meat of the crab is finely minced, seasoned, and popped back into the main carapace. It's then topped with a thick layer of echatere cheese, and baked until browned and gooey. Especially delicious on a cold day in Wrothgar!
Redguards
Mudcrab and oyster omelette is a port favourite in Hammerfell, and it's one of the best street foods out there in my opinion. The scrambled egg is whipped into hot oil and tossed with small fresh oysters, mudcrab meat, and scallions. Top with fresh chili, and you've got the perfect lunch!

Y’all… I am playing the use-what-you’ve-got-in-your-house-already-you-food-hoarder game. I like a hot breakfast. Preferably with bread of some kind, eggs, meat, and cheese. But I came back from New York last week and had no bread in my freezer. But do you know what I did have? Puff pastry dough.Let me tell you about my friggen amazing breakfast this week!
Melt a pat of butter in a small fry pan. Add chopped onions and dehydrated garlic. After the onions have warmed up, add in some bacon bits, or beef summer sausage. While that’s all cooking, break off a 3rd of a sheet of frozen puff pastry dough. Thaw in the microwave at the lowest power, 30 seconds at a time. In my freezer that’s usually a total of a minute and a half. Cut the dough strip in half and lightly stretch to enlarge. Be careful not to rip. Then spread half of a laughing cow cheese wedge on each half. I prefer the garlic and herb variety. Then add a teaspoon of Chick-fil-A sauce and half an ounce of sliced cheddar cheese. Once your onions and meat have begun to caramelize, mix in 2 lightly beaten eggs and cook until mostly firm. (Save a tablespoon of raw egg to seal pastry packet.) Once eggs are done, divide in half and add to your puff pastry. Fold one corner across the eggs, then egg wash it and fold the opposite corner across. Add another swipe of egg wash. Top with shredded cheese of your choice. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes at 400°F. Then let rest at least 10 minutes.
I have no photos, because I suck. But trust me, this is freaking amazing.
TLDR: breakfast this week is heavenly. Here’s my inspo recipe: https://www.gittaskitchen.com/simple-scrambled-eggs-and-puff-pastry-bundles-recipe/
