Fun Fashion Fact about ATSV #3:
The History of Hobies Boots: Punk Culture 101
Although Hobies boots are not Doc Martens - it's most likely they're supposed to be.
Hobie wears knee-high cherry red combat boots - and although they look like Doc Martens at first glance, you may notice they aren't.
They lack the iconic yellow threading and the loop behind the boots.
However, despite this - it's most likely that his boots are supposed to be Docs, or at the very least heavily inspired by them.
Contrary to popular belief, Doc Martens are not originally British - they're German, with their production starting after WW2.
When Doc Martens came to the UK in the sixties and seventies -
the first model available to the UK were high-ankled and Cherry Red in color
[NOTE: DO NOT wear these boots with white or red laces unless you want to be approached by racists or you are one. Red and White laces stand for skinheads/white supremacists respectively. Cherry Red Docs with red laces are one of their signatures. Docs have been sold with different color laces over the years, but the standard for new ones is now black. Yellow laces (which the brand sells) stands for anti-racism. I don't believe they have ever sold red or blue laces - only black and yellow now I think]
And later on they produced the 1B60 - aka, the Cherry Red 20-eyelet boots, Hobies model.
So even though his boots aren't OFFICIALLY docs, probably for licensing reasons, but Hobie's boots seen to be designed directly off of the first model of UK Doc Martens.
Hence why his shoes are one of the most consistent things to appear in his concept art. How cool is that!!!

i'll say a few things here and there on how i approach mixing based on a set of guidelines i've been giving thru learning. i won't go 100% and i encourage you research further on your own as everyone has a different perspective of certain concepts. whats important is that you understand the concept so that you are able to interpolate on it with your own liberties. yeah. please read the links before looking at my commentary or you won't understand what im saying.
Some DAWs, Their Guides, & Some Freebies: One of the first things you should do is pick a DAW and learn how to use it and its functions to streamline your mixing process.
Free DAWs: The Best Available in 2023 by Produce Like A Pro
Audacity / DarkAudacity (i like darkaudacity): has a section of the site dedicated to tutorials on using Audacity!
Reaper: has a 3 hour course FREE course on mixing!
FL Studio: has a demo version you can pretty much use forever with a few.........exceptions. I won't be linking any cracked versions though. Here's a manual for this program since many people use it!

Papercutz Partners with Disney Publishing Worldwide For Graphic Novels, Phineas And Ferb Graphic Novel Slated For June
Mad Cave Studios celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and its children’s graphic novel imprint, Papercutz, is kicking things off with a bang. Today, the publisher announced a partnership with Disney to produce a series of comics featuring iconic and beloved characters, and The Beat has all the details.
The Papercutz line of Disney comics will focus on Disney’s many film properties, including such favorites as Encanto and Turning Red, as Disney Television Animation's hit legacy series Phineas And Ferb, Frozen, 101 Dalmatians and Disney Fairies.
In June, Papercutz will release Phineas & Ferb Vol. 1 (June 11) and The New Adventures Of: Encanto Vol. 1 (June 25), continuing its FCBD offerings with the latter and introducing a classic Disney IP to its catalog with the former.

Norman Lear, one of the titans of television, passed today at the age of 101. Whether you know it or not, what you watch now was shaped by many of the tv shows he produced, wrote, and developed: All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Good Times, Sanford & Son, One Day at A Time, and Maude were amongst his many stand-out series. RIP, Mr. Lear.
