but all might's characterization drawing so much strength from mother figures. his victory pose, his laugh, from his earliest memories with his mother. learning to smile and be strong from nana. thinking of nana in his worst moments and gaining strength- i thought of her as my own mother, being formed as a person by nana's life and death. i dont know why hori specifically chose to make the seventh holder a woman (shigaraki's story would have worked if nana was male) but i love that toshinori yagi is a mama's boy.
so much of the media i love has cool male mentors or emphasises fathers, male mentors, or if women are a source of drive or inspiration they exist in that capacity as lovers; but to have an Incredibly Powerful male hero that goes "yes, i derive all my strength from my mother-figure mentor" is so dear to me. his earliest memories of his happy childhood featuring his biological mother.

i'm cryingggggggg quackity dresses up as fred and immediately gets the frubbo curse of everything turning into a sitcom. he was so anxious the entire time. he realized very early on that oh right, the workers communicate through writing which he cannot do and spent the day nodding and shaking his head and doing jumping jacks. other workers kept fucking asking him about his/fred's feelings for tubbo and being so hilariously sweet about it. then he got hit with the shaking bug and the other workers noticed and even assumed it was about tubbo???? "el amor es amor"????? and even fuckin cucurucho asked him if he was okay??????? he saw the others failing miserably at spying and could only scream internally. when he ran into pac, pac of course assumed that quackity must have been fred the entire time and then asked if tubbo is a good kisser. i'm going to explode. this is so embarrassing for him

not over the fact this quote implies that: 1) robutler is at least vaguely aware of the events of the death engine 2) he believes that these events were not only cool, but pivotal to the role of a 'cool agent' 3) he considers phoenix a cool agent not for neutralizing a deadly supervirus, stopping nuclear armageddon, or surviving death twice over, but destroying the same space laser that they nearly died in. or, at the very least, those other achievements pale in comparison to the whole space laser thing 4) he presumably wants to do this himself

I keep getting frustrated with myself today. I woke up to a bad pain day so I've decided to stay in bed and work from my laptop, relax, read fics, whatever.
The only problem is if I'm even a little bit horizontal, even just slightly slanted, my eyes start to close and I fall asleep. I slept last night! I'm not really that tired! But I just can't stop sleeping!! So I get frustrated and annoyed because this wasn't the fucking plan -
- and then I remember I'm chronically ill. I took my weekly immunosuppressant shot last night. My body is fighting an invisible battle and even though I haven't outwardly done anything a lot of my energy is being used to keep my disease at bay.
So hey, here's a reminder to disabled folks and people with chronic illness, invisible conditions, etc. Be patient and gentle with yourselves. Sometimes what your body needs won't always make sense to you, but it's always important to listen.

OKAY OKAY OKAY so this is going to be long-winded and I'm tired but I'm also a writer so characterization, here we go. WHOOOO!
Think about how the mission starts off normally. How it's just another encounter with Zoraxis for Phoenix. Except for the Handler, it's not. It's not just Zoraxis, he's facing off against someone who he's been friends with for years. Someone who he doesn't want to hurt, someone who he knows is, or was, a good person. He can push past that for now. Phoenix is already up to their antics, and they're having a good time. He knows they won't hurt Roxana unless absolutely necessary.
Think about that first encounter with the robots. Phoenix is up high, very high, and they can't deny that they're a bit nervous. After all, a big metal box and a huge drop? Where have they seen this before? Handler is nervous too, but the robots are easily dealt with. After all, they're Agent Phoenix! It's practically impossible for them to NOT be able to get to the factory. It's a little bit fun for the agent to do this part of the mission.
Think about when Roxana comes in her helicopter, when all of the robots face off against Phoenix. They've gotten nervous now. Is it fear that they're feeling? They can't tell, they haven't felt this in a long, long time. (Since The Death Engine, since The Peace Summit.) They're a highly skilled agent, they know that, but what can they do against so many robots and in so little space? What can they do now? There's hundreds of them, and only one little agent. Is this when they feel insignificant? Is this when they start to realize just how dangerous these things are, when given the right instructions? The Handler can only watch, and he knows they're feeling uncertain. He himself is terrified. Agent Phoenix has gotten lucky before, but surviving this is damn near impossible.
And then there's the explosion.
Think of the Handler, his horrified realization that Zor did it. Project K'BOOM has started, and the wave is coming right towards the agent. But Phoenix is safe. They should be safe, right? Think of Phoenix, staring in shock as they watch it come closer. Maybe they don't realize what it is at first. Maybe they do, and that horror is dawning in their chest.
But most importantly, think of Roxana. All of her life's work, her precious companions, her friends. All destroyed. "Back-up failure, back-up failure." Her factory, EVERYTHING Zor's given her. She's expendable. She's been manipulated. It's exactly what the Agency did, on a higher level. And her robots are paying the price. This is it for them. There's no coming back from this. Dr. Roxana Prism has finally lost everything.
Phoenix can only watch as the robots are destroyed. They never hated them. Honestly, the agent thought they were cute, goofy. They may have wanted to live, but they never wanted to see this. They can only watch in horror as the wave comes closer, as it kills every robot there is, as Roxana pleads with nobody for it to stop, and as she falls.
And then they're stuck, hundreds of feet in the air. Zor's getting close to killing all of the agents. Phoenix just watched hundreds of robots and Roxana die right in front of them. The Handler just watched who was possibly his closest friend go down in a helicopter, but he can't worry about that yet. Phoenix is still in trouble.
Maybe they stay up there for a moment, processing what happened. Maybe they finally realize it's fear that's surging through them. And then they bring the gondola down.
Think about how Roxana has lost everything. Absolutely everything. The Agency's never appreciated her. Zor's been using her. Everything is gone. Think of how she might want to fire that gun, how she might want the agent dead for all that they've done to oppose her. But it's not their fault, is it? They might be part of the Agency, but they aren't the one who....well, you know. All she's got left to live for is revenge. And then what is there? She doesn't know, but she let them live anyway.
Think about how Phoenix just has to watch her go, before signaling for help. Think of how the Handler comes to get the agent, but how he has to leave Roxana behind. Think of what must be going through Roxana's head. How, as she leaves, she must be passing dozens of destroyed robots. Her greatest creations. Her most trusted friends.
*slams hands down on the table* OHHH MY GOD that took 20 minutes. I'm feral for this game, absolutely feral. I've got like, 10 fic ideas for this, please save me-

Another reason (one of many) that I like KouHiro is that before I latched onto this ship I was mildly into AkeShu from Persona 5, but I didn't like 1. The fucking ship discourse 2. how it ends with Akechi probably dying & 3. How Akechi is a murderer and you have to like mentally come to terms with that. KouHiro is like the same kind of tropes, they're really similar people with an enemies to lovers dynamic but 1. it resolves and they become friends 2. Hiro isn't that evil he just commits plagiarism that's way better than literal murder 3. Hiro doesn't die 4. The narrative woobifies Hiro for me it's not like Akechi where the woobifying is fanmade & 5. Secret childhood friends trope on top of everything
and like it's really the trope that I like, enemies to lovers + redeemed character. but I'm media illiterate and persona 5 was the first fandom with a big enemies to lovers ship that ive been in. so they're super comparable in my mind despite not actually being that similar.
yeah that's right, Joker sucks because he doesn't have a Kazuki.
Also KoP Persona 5 AU, OTRs phantom thief names are Genius, King, and Charisma. Minato's name is Harbor, Yuki's is Princess or Kabuki I can't decide, Kakeru's is Kakeru because his actual name is Kazuo, Taiga's is Tiger (wow), Shin's is Shine but no one knows why. like the name just came to the group in a premonition or something. Leo's is Lion or Lion Heart. I feel like together it works as a name but it doesn't exactly fit the naming convention, Yuu's is Zeus, Joji has to be Joker we'll just say Ren and co. don't exist in this AU. Alec is like Muscle, or Punchy, or something. And Louis is something that would make it obvious in retrospect who he is, like Messenger or Prism. I can't think of a name for Ace that isn't Ace but the other shuffle members would have their suit like Tsurugi is Club. Jin is Whip. Rei is Fire, Hijiri is like Husband or Blonde or something lmfao I feel like I don't actually know much about him. If I got my way Ryo's name would be bitey because he's always biting something, but it'd more likely be like Hibiki (for his idol Hibiki Wataru)
idk why I did that I usually hate AUs

*cue sad YouTuber apology music*
Hello S.T.A.L.K.E.R Tumblr, it is I AncapsAss also known as Daddy Ancap. I wanted to make a heartfelt apology to the stalker community. As of recently I have been accused of fucking the well famous strelok prism, made by @//tar-dar. I wanted to clear things up, I did not fuck the strelok prism and I never will. I will call my self out about the abuse I put my prism through, now going fourth I will stop with the strelok abuse.
Again I am sorry about the sick minds of people thinking I have fucked the prism. It's even weirder because a I'm in fact a minor(nasty ass bastards). Again I did NOT fuck the prism. I see it as my child more then anything.

Soo, how about that first episode of Sonic Prime S2, eh, guys? How we feeling?
Quick analysis. Sonic has trauma from this whole ordeal, guys. He was showing clear signs of PTSD this ep. Maybe it was obvious, but I'm gonna rant a lil about it, anyway.
It started when Shadow clarified to him, sharply, that their old reality no longer existed. You could hear in his voice that he was on the verge of tears. And just LOOK at him. 😭
Tumblr media
And when Shadow took him to the ghost version of Green Hill? When he was talking to who he thought were his friends, only to slowly realize they were nothing more than ghosts of his real friends as they repeated their phrases over and over again? His expression, the way he shook his head ever so slightly, the way he backed up, had to sit down, was actually SHAKING?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shadow brought him to the cave in the mountain, where the INCIDENT happened. One symptom of PTSD is avoidance of places or people that remind one of a traumatic event. Sonic's face when he realizes where he is?
Tumblr media
His ears go up in alarm and his eyes go wide. And then he just stands there, frozen. Shadow has to say his name to get him to start moving. And even when he does?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way he has one arm up, that's a very defensive stance, often a signal of fear. And he walks, so slowly, like in a trance, into the cave. He stares at the ghostly remains of the Paradox Prism, starts getting flashbacks all over again, all with this look of dazed terror in his eyes.
Tumblr media
It hurt my heart to see. 🥺😭

the thing is, guillermo's main motivation is not just to become a vampire. it hasn't been for a while. if that were the case, he would've left and served another vampire a long time ago––which he actually did in season 2 with celeste. the only reason that didn't go through is because it turned out she wasn't a vampire.
(by the way, it's not a plothole that nandor let guillermo go off to be turned by celeste even though being turned by someone than your master is bad. guillermo renounced nandor as a master as per celeste's conditions, so at that point she was his master, not nandor)
becoming a vampire is definitely the thing that drives a good amount of his decisions, yes, but it's not the only one that does. the desire to be a vampire is accompanied––and i'd even say overrode––by a desire to be family.
season 2 guillermo was very fickle. his vampire slayer lineage conflicted with his desire to be a vampire, and at the same time you cannot convince me that he didn't contemplate murdering the others several times. s2 guillermo was willing to drop the gang if it meant an easier way to become a vampire.
but i don't think the same could be said of season 5 guillermo. at this point he had made peace between his nature and his want, having used his vampire slaying skills to protect his masters. he had grown even closer to the vampires, and while i wouldn't say he never cared for them, that care has grown enough so that he hasn't attempted to properly leave since the end of season 2.
and more importantly, the other vampires had become closer to him. as he grew to see them as family, they had grown see him as such too. guillermo knows his worth, and his love for them would have only persisted if they also––slowly but surely––showed their love for him. otherwise, he hits the bricks, or tries to; the one time he tries to leave since s2 is at the start of s4, when they left him in a crate for weeks.
what nadja said to him in the motel comes to mind: "at first, i was just using [the little antipaxons] to get rid of my hex. but then it turned out... i really like hanging out with those guys."
guillermo started serving the vampires to become a vampire. but over time, instead of merely being his masters, they became his family. sticking with them became less and less about becoming a vampire, and more and more about being with loved ones.
he voices his regret to ask derek to bite him. "i really don't want to die," he says about nandor hunting him down, "but i'm more afraid of losing the vampires."
i think it's possible he continued to pursue vampirism if only to obtain this newer desire. but even so, vampirism ultimately didn't do anything for guillermo in the grander scheme of things.
guillermo wants to be fully accepted. he wants to be part of the team, an equal. not pushed away or dismissed. he's worried less about this recently, but judging by his looks during the guide's rant about being excluded, he still had his doubts. perhaps being a vampire would achieve that. but it didn't!
when the vampires came to say goodbye at the motel, they didn't do so because they respected him as a vampire. in fact, when they first found out, they just responded with astonishment (laszlo) anger (nadja) or indifference (colin, the guide). and even if he were turned by nandor, i still doubt they would've outwardly respected him.
no, the vampires each went one by one to say goodbye to guillermo because he was already part of the family. all this time, over the years, they saw guillermo as someone worth valuing, because he valued them. they just didn't show it, as vampires do. it had nothing to do with being a vampire. and even after the full transformation, they went back to putting on an indifferent and uncaring facade. being a vampire has no effect over the vampires' feelings towards guillermo.
in the end, vampirism didn't do guillermo any good. he had all he could ever need and want... as a human. except being a vampire. of course. but as a vampire the vampires didn't treat him differently, and if anything he's further excluded because he's too hesitant to kill. at least as a human, it's a given that he's an outsider. it's worse when you're supposed to be the same and you still end up too different
so in the end, it wasn't worth it. and guillermo chooses humanity once more.
do i wish we could've seen more of vamp guillermo, and definitely more of him building up to make that decision to turn back? yes. honestly most of my issue with the finale is the pacing; the latter half seemed like a separate episode on its own, and i kinda felt it needed to be a whole episode in order to stick the landing better. (can we bring back longer seasons please. even just a tiny bit longer, like 12 episodes :() but overall i am greatly fascinated with guillermo's journey, i am so in love with it, and i am looking forward to how he's going to grapple with the changes he went through this season :DD

Let's talk about This y'all
Despite rewatching season 3 a few times, the gravity of this line has finally sunk in for me like. Nine is so far GONE at this point. From the beginning of the series we know that Nine is ultimately apathetic towards the other characters in the show. He hates New Yoke but he is never outwardly malicious towards the citizens there.
Even in the beginning of Season 3 he agrees to help everyone in the Shatterverse by rebuilding their worlds. Nine has zero reason to go back on his deal with Sonic. After Sonic "betrays" him for a second time is when he first starts becoming more villainous, saying "You won't even be able to save yourselves." (Which goes so hard btw.) But that's only towards everyone else. To Sonic he continues using vague language by saying he wants to drain him of his prism energy. Are the implications dark? Definitely. But it's not until Sonic has reached the top of the Citadel, gotten a few good hits on Nine, offers once again to fix the Shatterverse (which Nine takes it as being blamed for the entire situation, which is why he shoots it down and points out that Chaos Council started this), and reveals they've all tricked him that Nine becomes actively murderous. He's going to have his robots kill (or as close as he can say to kill) everyone in the Grim. Yikes. Bigger yikes? He's not just going to have his robots just kill Sonic. No. He's going to have his robots watch as he kills Sonic!
I don't know if I'm just ranting into the void about this but I just find it fascinating how Nine devolved from detached apathy to I'm going to make sure your friends die and then I'm going to personally murder you.

30 Minute Rant Incoming:
In this post I transcribe my 30 minute rant that I sent originally to @firlionemoontav (with parts of my freaking out cut out of it). Thoughts? Information? Your own of the wall ideas? Please share them.
"We know that [Raphael's] brother, Magadon, was able to withstand the energy put out by the Mythallars which are quasi-sentient magic orb things that are connected directly to the Weave. It's very likely that the Netherstones are pieces of Mythallar. I can't confirm that -- but I'm willing to bet that this is the case.
"We know that Magadon Kest, a cambion son of Mephistopheles, was able to connect himself to the Mythallars and control them to some extent. He was being forced to build an army for Shar a long time ago, ~118 Years before the events of Baldur's Gate 3. And then again ~8 Years before Baldur's Gate 3 when he connected himself to a Mythallar and dropped one of the new Netherese cities onto the prince that was trying to rebuild the Netherese empire under Shar's name. He connected to the Mythallar and disconnected the magic for a little bit so that the city would fall on top of the prince.
"We know that cambions, at least, or cambion sons of Mephistopheles, can definitely wield Mythallaric power, meaning that in order to do that Raphael would probably still need to be a cambion, meaning that he would still need his mortal soul.
"But, there was another person that [Raphael] brought to the House of Hope at the same time, or in the same year, as he did Blackcloak -- who is the one that is known for being incredibly good with life magic. For example:
"There's a spell called 'Clone' where if you die, your soul moves into the Clone, and then you continue living. Usually you have One Clone at a time -- when you die, you move into the Clone.
"At one point Blackcloak had something like 40 Clones. And then, during the Second Sundering (something to do with Cyric and Mystra. It has nothing to do with Raphael, so I haven't looked into it any further. I am solely Raphael focused), when magic failed, he was unable to resurrect. All of his Clones 'woke up' and just went about there way -- so there are some 40 versions of Blackcloak alive.
"Not only is Blackcloak able to make several active Clones of himself, but those Clones don't have to be copies of himself. He can make Clones that are different Races and Sexes entirely. He is that good with magic. He is mortal, and he is like 4,000 years old just because he is that good with magic.
"Anyway, that's not who I was talking about. I was talking about the other lady who came into the House of Hope. I haven't looked into her as much. Sylvira Savikas. She's part of the 'Descent into Avernus' campaign.
"She is an artificer, I believe, and her specialty is puzzle boxes and different universes. (I think the puzzle boxes may be able to hold universes in them). Kind of like the Astral Prism. The one that Raphael made the hammer specifically for. How would he have known about the Hammer? Why would he have brought her in if he didn't need to know about the Astral Prism?
"Now, perhaps he also needed to know about someplace to keep his mortal soul (as he would have had to rid himself a long time ago in order to ascend) but I imagine that was a long time ago.
"Because when we consider: Yes, he's Mephistopheles's son. Mephistopheles has many children, very few of them are important. Antilia is important, but she's not even openly accepted as being his child. Magadon wasn't important. He went on and lived his life as a tavern owner on the Material Plane so he wasn't important. There's no reason why being 'Mephistopheles' son' would make Raphael particularly important to anyone.
"So, when we take that into account, the fact that Raphael was able to make a contract with Yurgir, an Orthon (which is essentially third in the hierarchy system of Baator). Yurgir is a powerful, powerful devil, and he is afraid of Raphael? He is beholden to a contract with Raphael? He is afraid that by breaking his contract with Raphael and killing him his reputation will be tarnished? Eh -- it's unlikely Raphael made the deal as a cambion. He's probably been very powerful fora very long time.
"How does the Crown come into it? Well, we have to consider that he contracted Yurgir to get rid of the Dark Justiciar Army growing under Reithwyn at the behest of Ketheric Thorm's Mason, The Infernal Mason, who built Moonrise Towers. And he did. He fulfilled that contract, sent Yurgir and Yurgir's army of merrigons, destroyed all Dark Justiciars except one.
"One remained. One that Raphael hid as an army of rats. Now, why would he do that? I don't think he did it because he has a beef with Yurgir. I don't think he cares about Yurgir at all. Now, he knows Yurgir is going to be pissed because he did that, but that's not why he did it.
"He did it because he knew that he was going to need Ketheric Thorm in the future. In order to have Ketheric Thorm in the future, Ketheric would have to be immortal. In order to ensure that Ketheric remained immortal he had to ensure that no one could get in to Shar's Guantlet. What is the best way to ensure that no one could into Shar's Gauntlet to find and free the Nightsong -- which is feeding Ketheric Thorm's immortality?
"Stick an Orthon there. Nothing's gonna get past a fuckin' Orthon. Right? It had nothing to do with Yurgir. Yurgir is the body guard for his asset's asset.
"So yes, he knew about Nightsong and he put Yurgir there on purpose so that he would have unfettered access to Nightsong. If he decided that he needed to get to Nightsong to either kill her or free her he had a Dark Justiciar ready and waiting to be re-stuck-back-together into a man to go and do whatever he wanted him to do.
"But, as long as he didn't want anyone to go in there, he had an Orthon who was contractually bound to destroy anything that went in.
"Onto the next part. So we have Ketheric. We see how he fits in with Ketheric Thorm. We know how he fits in with Gortash. But -- if he wants us to kill him, obviously the Crown is not his main goal. If we do kill him as he is subliminally pushing us to do, he can't have the Crown, at least not immediately. He may get the Crown afterward, but there's always a chance that someone else is gong to get it. (Like Gale, you fool). Mephistopheles is going to want the Crown back.
"But, consider that he waited for just the right time -- for his brother's friends to also raid Mephistopheles's vault. I wonder if (obviously not when the book was written, the book was written in the 90s) they've retconned the lore if Raphael had something to do with Drasek Riven finding Vasson Cale when he did and going to raid Mephistopheles's vault to free Eravis Cale when he did.
"Because Mephistopheles is not only dealing with the Crown having been stolen. At this exact same time, the events of Baldur's Gate 3 is going on, Magadon Kest's friends broke into Mephistar to steal Eravis Cale who was trapped there in order to get back the divinity of a god. Mask, the God of Thieves. So Mephistopheles lost this fount of divinity that he had around the same time that Gortash broke in and took the Crown.
"Mephistopheles cannot wield the Crown. Gods cannot wield the Crown. No one except cambions for some reason can wield the Crown. So, what is he going to go after? Would Mephistopheles put in the energy to find the Crown, or is he going to go after the divinity that was also stolen from him? I imagine he would go after the divinity -- a god's power that he can actually use.
"Now, if Raphael doesn't actually want the Crown (I mean, the Crown would be nice to have if he could get it -- I'm sure he could get the Crown, off himself, be resurrected, or whatever happens) The Crown is a distraction, is what I'm saying. The Crown is not the most important part of this plan and I cannot for the life of me figure out what is.
"The Crown doesn't make sense, because if Gale gets the Crown Raphael is like 'Ah, I was mad, but now I'm just fine with it'? No, he never cared about the Crown. He actually is fine with Gale having the Crown, because Gale having the Crown creates mortals with ambition -- ambition is what destroyed Netheril because Karsus was ambitious. Gale being the God of Ambition is going to create more Karsuses. And, what does Raphael deal in? He doesn't deal in heroics -- he deals in Ambition. He gives people their ambitions.
"Gale being the God of Ambition is the perfect situation for somebody like Raphael. So he doesn't give a flying fuck about the Crown.
"But I can't figure out how he benefits from dying. He must benefit. It has to be some mechanic that I'm not aware of and don't know the proper terms to research. I don't know what I'm looking for, so I don't know where to look."

I'm so fucking tired of people acting like OFMD fanfic authors are being overly dramatic Mary Sue's with the level of drama and trauma we put in our fics.
As if we didn't watch a child belittled by his father flinch as his face was splashed in blood because his father cared so little for him he didn't warn him, didn't tell him to stand back, he wanted him to be dirtied and be a "man."
As if we didn't watch a child cower in the corner of a room as his mother was beaten for things out of her control. As his father stalked away into the night, abandoning his family in the wake of the pain he'd caused.
As if that same child wouldn't go on to kill his own father to seize freedom and peace for him and his mother, because he couldn't watch her hurt anymore.
As if we didn't watch Ed suffer a panic attack and PTSD only to rip out his heart and bare his soul to Stede - and then was shocked to find only comfort in response.
As if we didn't all see the horror on Stede's face as yet another man was killed in front of him - not by him but as a consequence of his actions. As if Stede didn't scream a gut wrenching scream of genuine terror in that jungle.
As if the final shot of season 1 wasn't Ed sobbing in the window bed, eyes turned to the lighthouse painting, kohl-streaked tears lining the planes of his face as he wallows in his heartache and regret.
And this is only gentlebeard, this isn't even touching on Jim's deep childhood trauma, Frenchie's remarks on working "in service," etc!!
But yeah - fanfic authors are just being too much and there's no trauma in the show. It's JUST a teehee little romcom.
Like, yes, it's a romcom - it's funny and silly and has hilarious one liners - but to disregard the trauma and act like it isn't there is doing the show an enormous disservice. Our beloved characters are broken, traumatized, but still funny and lively. That's what makes them human and makes us love them.

It's time for your weekly scheduled rant
So I would imagine that Reginald is very professional when it comes to his job. He follows the rules, does what he's told, etc.
I've seen a couple of people say that handlers aren't supposed to get attached to their agents because they could die easily and they want the handlers to move on really quickly
Because he's a rule follower, Reggie built up major walls with his agents. He never got attached. All of the other handlers were weirdly jealous he could just turn off his emotions concerning the agents. It's probably one of the reasons he's the senior handler.
Which makes Phoenix and his relationship even weirder to outside observers because Reginald Crane does not break the rules.
He's very obviously friends with them. Phoenix talks about him all the time and Reginald likes to brag about Phoenix's achievements to the other handlers. Phoenix casually hangs out at his house (which either means Reggie told them where he lives or they figured it out on their own and he didn't stop them). He even directly violated protocol one time trying to directly intervene with a mission to ensure their safety. He doesn't hide it very well.
So while I think most of the agents are jealous and intimidated by them because of their track record(and saving the world three times), I think all of the other handlers are slightly scared of them because how on earth did they get Reginald Crane to care about them this much?!?
Are they blackmailing him? Do they have mind control? That is the most professional man in this whole organization and he's broken the rules multiple times specifically for this agent!!! Why would he do that?!?
(also, funnily enough, I made this headcannon that like half of the handlers thought Phoenix was a Zoraxis double agent until the Death Engine)
Prism when she came back (not to the agency, mind you) teased Reggie about this because he totally gets attached. He gets attached to all of his agents. He just knows how to hide it and move on when they die.
"That's what everyone thinks about you? Reginald, you should audition for a movie or something, because if the whole office thinks that then you're a better actor than Juniper."
Basically, Phoenix isn't a one time fluke, they're just the one who's survived the longest.
(But the other handlers don't know that, and I think it would be funny if one of them tried and failed to blackmail Phoenix into not blackmailing Reggie because they're not blackmailing him.)
Rant over (if you wanna write something that's kinda based on this then please tag me because I wanna see)
