I don't usually do this, but I'm going to gently throw my hat into the theory ring for a moment.
Good omens season 2 spoilers ahead!
I want to know why that miracle was so big. Let's call this Portal Theory
Personally, I'm partial to the idea that when Crowley and Aziraphale work together, they're Just That Powerful. But let's see what else it could be, no?
I've seen people tossing around the idea that it could be because Crowley was a powerful angel, and I definitely think that theory has some footing, but I feel like we would have seen more of his miracles going big if that were the issue. Especially as they were trying to make it small, and Crowley specifically drew attention to the fact that it had been the two of them working together that caused this thing to go off the rails, I don't think it was his former power. I also think he's just got more control than that.
I've also seen the theory that the miracle was channelled through Gabriel, and while I don't dislike that theory, I just don't think that's how miracles work.
But! On my third and fourth viewings I picked up on this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the scene where they are casting the miracle. We get this overhead shot of Crowley moving a chair from somewhere else into the middle of the circle rug for Jim to sit in.
And I wondered, why? Why emphasise this placement?
It could well just be because this is TV and it's a nice looking shot. I'm perfectly ready for that to be the answer. But it feels so intentional, especially when...
We know what's under that rug: Aziraphale's heaven portal. Which allows him to both communicate with and travel to heaven on a whim. And so, I suspect that the heaven portal may have amplified the power of the miracle - or at least, been close enough to communicate and sound the alarm in heaven when they did perform the miracle.
And you might be saying, but Rat, the portal only works when it's surrounded by candles!
But is that true? We've seen in this season that it works with battery operated candles just as well as it does with real ones, so does it even really need them? Or is it just sitting in sleep mode constantly, waiting for Aziraphale to do something to activate it?
I don't know! Lmao.
That's really the end of this theory, but I wanted to add a bit here: I'm sure most of us have seen the theories by now that The Metatron has been watching and meddling in the story all season. Idk how much I buy into them, but I do think they're fun. We know that this portal allows Aziraphale to speak to The Metatron. So what if he saw/felt them performing that miracle through the portal, and he made it seem much bigger than it was so that heaven and hell would take an interest?

Headcanon:
Rick/Adventure Core is the Rainbow Core, just corrupted. Each colour on the rainbow is meant to be a different aspect of his personality, and the reason he’s corrupted is due to his code’s focus on the “adventuring” aspect, represented by his eye going from multiple colours to only green.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In between the events of Portal Stories: Mel and Portal 2, he ended up getting corrupted.

Serious, not-joke theory: What if Aperture designed and produced war machines for the Cold War? If so, how terrifying (or ineffective) they would be? Perhaps they’d be massive turrets with eight spider legs for maneuvering and crawling around quickly and a ridiculous amount of gun and missile attachments?
Granted, this seems more like Black Mesa’s specialty, but Cave Johnson isn’t the sort of guy to turn down a lucrative deal from the military industrial complex or the US government.

Ok Theory Time
The Testing Euphoria shown in portal 2 aka: the itch
Is the Robot Equivalent of Ecstasy.
Let me explain; Ecstasy is a stimulant type of drug that intensifies the feel of everything for 6 whole hours, what I'm saying is
Solving a test, is the stimulation, the itch is from the intense feeling of needing that stimulation
Notice how Wheatley goes from practically nearly moaning into your ear to just being met with Disappointment, that's just the effects wearing off over time, just like a drug would
Also notice how GLaDOS or in this case potatOS says you need to have the mental capacity to push past it
Hmmm
Sounds like an Addiction to me, partner.

Everything we currently know about Chell's age!
[Keep reading under the cut!]
We can assume right away based on her appearance that she could be in her 20s to 30s (although she does look younger/older in various concept arts but that could just be from the artists different styles)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chell's face reference was born in 1978, making her 32 at the time Portal takes place (2010) and 27-29 when it was in development (2005-07).
Tumblr media
Next is that we know Chell was present at the Bring/Take your Daughter to Work Day event, her project was the one with the overgrown potato. The handwriting indicates that she is a young child, most likely under the age of 12 but older than 6.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I included both the in game project and the one released by ThinkGeek in the PotatOS science kit as they vary in text and style.
We also learn by the website promoting Portal 1 [aperturescience.com] that GLaDOS was activated in 1998 [it was changed later on from the image I added below] making it also the Bring Your Daughter to Work Day.
Tumblr media
Not related to Chell's age but people think the GLaDOS activation was on the actual Bring Your Daughter to Work Day holiday which is the fourth Thursday of April which in 1998 was April 23rd. But the Bring your Daughter to Work day in Portal was also the Bring Your Cat to Work day in the Lab Rat comic which officially the holiday is on the third Monday in June, making it June 15th in 1998.
If the year is actually 1998 [there's been speculation that it was on the Half-Life Renaissance Cascade in 2003 but I'm sticking to the website date for now], this means Chell was born in late 80s/early 90s.
This isn't as big a part but in Portal 2, GLaDOS states that Chell's birthday was during the testing. In both Portal 1 and 2 we can infer it's most likely spring/summer from the outside world so Chell was probably born around then if GLaDOS was actually telling the truth.
~
This was pretty messy but in conclusion, my theory is that I think Chell is around 9 at the GLaDOS activation based on how she writes, making her born 1989, making her 21/22 in 2010. And following the dates of when GLaDOS says her birthday is and the Bring your Daughter to Work Day, I think her birthday is in May [between the months of the BYDTWD and the BYCTWD, also fitting with the spring/summer theme of outside].
That's not a definite answer but if you guys have more info, I'd love to hear it!! Thanks for reading. ♡

[ cw: violence mention / death mention / ]
Will never stop thinking about how Leo, all alone in an endless void and being beaten again and again and again by the only other living thing around, still finds comfort in that space. The situation he was in was completely hopeless, and in any other circumstances he would not have escaped, at least not fast enough to save him from permanent (or even fatal) damage, be it physical or mental.
And yet, despite the bleakness of his situation, despite the agony and helplessness, all he needs is one glance at a crumbled photograph, one glance to remember his family, and that’s enough of a reason for him to smile.
Maybe that’s why his powers center around manipulating space - because no matter how much space is between them, no matter how dire his own situation may be, just the thought of his family, alive and okay, is enough to give Leo hope.
#rottmnt#rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles#rottmnt leo#rise leo#the prison dimension is horrifying on its own#add in a monstrous being that towers over you and has vowed to ensure your suffering?#god I can’t imagine how scary that is#Mikey opening the portal was a miracle because if he hadn’t managed it there#it’s really up in the air what could have become of Leo#personally I subscribe by the theory that you straight up can’t die in the prison dimension#so it’s a prison in all ways#but the thought of a Leo who manages anyway who adapts and continues to have hope despite it all…#Leo saying he’s nothing without his family is a double edged sword really#because the thought of his family alone is all he needs to live. to hope.#to smile#nothing without them…but they’re EVERYTHING to him#and maybe he doesn’t realize it but…the feeling is mutual#one thing too is that hope that comforts Leo so much is not just that#should he think his family needs help - that hope can turn into determination#I’m unwell about this family#actually on my point of their powers - I truly do think the abilities tie in not only to their personalities#but to their relationship to family and love in general#kinda like love languages in a way#Mikey with his chains and time abilities values being around his family the most - he wants them to experience living in the moment togethe#Donnie is someone who is 100% a gift giver to show his love - his constructs are exactly that aren’t they? gifts of his mind#Raph is someone who willingly bears the weight of the shield - he protects his family like the best big brother possible#and Leo - he goes off on his own a lot but his mind is constantly on his family anyway#like a sailor at sea no matter how far he travels the compass always point in one direction - and for him that compass points home#even if he can’t make it back - it’s still there#and that’s enough

I have a theory that if Leo quickly opened and closed a portal around an opponent (aka portal chopping REALLY REALLY quickly, like so quickly that you couldn’t even see that portal) it would look like his opponent just fell apart, instantaneously. Portal-chopping without the portal.
(Edit: extra: and like if he could move his portals too, then they’d be like floating blades.)
Tumblr media
(Tbh this is just an old fic idea I’m never going to end up doing.)

I just love the theory that Wheatley was made as a substitute of Cave Johnson for Glados (Caroline).
I don't know how I missed it for so long, but they literally made a specifically engineered moron for her to throw absolutely bullshit dumb ideas at her constantly, which Cave Johnson literally did as the CEO of Aperture.
I love it.

I've been on a portal 2 soundtrack kick lately and it deals me poison damage every time I see people translate cara mia addio with stuff like "my little girl" or "my daughter" or go to the YouTube comments and see "chell was caroline's daughter" as if it were 100% confirmed canon stuff that's real and actually happened cuz it's like.
I don't think moms tend to go around writing breakup songs about their kids 🤨 that is a tad unusual and nasty icky garbagetrash
Cuz like. Want you gone was literally confirmed to be a breakup song by the devs
Mom theory sucks so bad and I hope it explodes off the face of the earth forever, its only evidence is a mistranslated lyric, chell is GLaDOS' BABYGIRL forEVER and EVER and if you get homophobic about them i will detonate you immediately 💥💥 permanently

Wheatley's inability to ever fully be a human or a robot kills me every time
In canon he's way too human for a robot in every aspect: the way he thinks, the way he moves, the way he succumbs to his emotions, the way he constantly makes mistakes and is constantly learning from them, but still not enough to fully win.
In fanon even being put into human body his eyes are still too bright and too saturated for a human, his behavior and interactions with humans are too alien to what they are used to, his perception of human customs and traditions are still too robotic to fully allow him comfortably integrate into the society.
He's constantly on the brink of these two things, not fully dipping into one or the other and it fascinates me.

It just dawned on me that the WorldPort also has other games, (Portal, Among Us, Potion Craft etc) attached to it, so Quixis might not even be from a Minecraft Server.
Could be from a world/game where Portal/muliverse travel type of thing is normal, and that's how Quixis got into the WP thing to begin with?????
