MASTER POST
It is done! I feel both like I spent far too much time on this update yet not nearly enough. Some poses are a bit stiff but hopefully the battle itself still reads. I know not much progress was made plot wise, but trust me, there’s a few things in here that are going to become very important much later on in the story.
Leo’s Ninpo: The keen reader might recognize that a number of Leo’s attacks are ones he picked up from Gram Gram, but with a bit of that added portal flair. I really wanted to push the boundaries of where he takes his skills, but stay true to the belief that rather than becoming a heavy hitting powerhouse like his brothers, his strength lies in his ability to calculate and react on the fly. I also wanted to give some level of limitation to each of their gifts. For Leo, it’s less the number of portals he creates that exhaust him, but rather the size and amount of energy that passes through these portals and his ability to keep them stable during the transaction. He has also become much better at keeping his portals well protected (so that portal pirates can not interfere or rather, so that the pirates aren’t killed by stray laser beams rushing through). As far as the Portal Choppers, we’ll be coming back to those and how they work later on in the story…

I have a theory that if Leo quickly opened and closed a portal around an opponent (aka portal chopping REALLY REALLY quickly, like so quickly that you couldn’t even see that portal) it would look like his opponent just fell apart, instantaneously. Portal-chopping without the portal.
(Edit: extra: and like if he could move his portals too, then they’d be like floating blades.)
(Tbh this is just an old fic idea I’m never going to end up doing.)

Ok so fun fact about me is that I hadn't yet seen the movie and was waiting to watch it after both me and my sister had finished the series
Buuuuut I SUCK at spoilers so I read the whole plot on wikipedia months in advance 😅
And while the wiki page does give you the synopsis and plot it doesn't go into detail about certain things so when I read about the "portal-chopped" thing it didn't say who got chopped, only that it happened during a fight with Hypno and Warren. So, naturally I assumed that Warren got portal-chopped. I was actually very disappointed to find out that the animators did NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS. LIKE WHY. YOU HAVE A CHARACTER THAT YOU CHOP INTO PIECES EVRY OTHER EPISODE AND YOU DID NOT GIVE HIM THE PORTAL-CHOPPING HONOUR? whatever im not upset.

As someone who never really watched the old versions of tmnt (except a lil of 2012 one) let alone the crossover episodes that have usagi in em, BUT watching Rottmnt like 4-6 times and finally samurai rabbit on netflix, i’d have to say, I get it now. I understand now.

Red Rover Fanart #2
Fanart #3 and I think I'm improving!
Even though it's completed @red-rover-au continues to tumble in my brain like tennis shoes in a washing machine.
This scene from Chapter 24 really stuck with me and I knew I wanted to try and draw it as soon as I read it. Do you realize how close Shredder had to be to Leo's face?!
Anyway I'm really proud of this even though I have no idea what I'm doing. Light and color theory? Shading? No idea. I just had fun with the colors and cool little brushes.
Also I did have to look at the picture of Shredder from the wiki; I'm not out here trying to learn how to draw homicidal demons, only turtles.
Also I think I'm afraid of backgrounds; and turtle legs.
