IMPORTANT!!!
people, we need to talk about something serious, please read this!
so, it has come to my attention that elo_bbh_fan on instagram has been posting the AI generated pics I made in the last few days. she's a big creator, with over 1690k followers and stealing from smaller creators like me.
I know this is controversial, and I am NOT one to take credit for something an AI did, so I'm really okay with people reposting or using my pics of Daryl for edits or stuff like that. but this is something else, this person is claiming to have spent HOURS editing those pictures when I made them in SECONDS just by writing a prompt.
this is REALLY ridiculous. and when i commented on their post on ig, they simply blocked me. they even put a watermark on an AI GENERATED picture, I mean, how desperate for attention do you gotta be to do something like that??
they even said I stole them from their Facebook post (I'm not even on Facebook??)
i can prove I'm the one who made those pics. you can just look on my blog, you'll see I posted them along with many others, I've posted 30 until this moment.
here are the comments they deleted on ig (I'm butterflyboomx):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is their account, please report their profile and their posts:
Tumblr media
as you can see here they blocked me and deleted my comments and the ones calling them out (I created a new account from a different device so I could have access to their posts again):
Tumblr media
these are the posts, they posted it on their stories and on their feed, they're getting hundreds of likes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also, here's a screenshot of my other AI generated pics of Daryl that I made using bing!!! you can see the ones they posted claiming as theirs. I have many of those cuz I didn't even post em all:
Tumblr media
this is really serious matter. when I first started creating those pictures, I didn't intend to create any drama at all and I meant no harm, I really just wanted to have fun and share it with everybody else. so it really saddens me this person is claiming rights over something an AI did. it's such a shame and it's totally ridiculous. I might have to start adding a watermark to my pics, something I really didn't wanna do, but since it's being stolen then I really don't see I way out of this. if you read this to this point, thank you so much for listening to me! let's help create a better environment

@maegor_the_cool on tiktok word-for-word stole your post about queen alysanne and is passing it off as their own in the comments on their most recent video. when i asked them about it, they claimed they didn't know it was yours and they got it from a forum, which doesn't really make it okay that they pretended it was their own words, and now they're claiming you gave them permission but i highly doubt it. just thought i'd let you know.
Oh, lovely! No, this person has never contacted me, I just looked through my entire inbox to make sure. I went and checked out the video and yep they literally took it verbatim. For reference y'all, here is the original post, which you can see I made on 2/28/2023. The TikTok creator got it from this post, which you can see was made on 3/7/2023, over a week after I made my original post. The forum poster is also passing off my content as their own in the comments on that thread. And here are screenshots from the TikTok posted 14 hours ago, since they turned sharing off:

...So I guess this is time to remind everyone that if you repost my stuff without my knowledge and without crediting me, you are doing so without my permission and I do not support it. I've said yes to 100% of the people who've asked me permission, so I don't understand why this seems to be a recurring issue. Also, a 1-minute Google search for this post would have turned up my blog, so it's not like this person couldn't find me because it was too hard. They just didn't check their source before using it. It's a shame, because I checked out the comments and we both 100% agree on the subject matter.
Here's a handy little guide to how to responsibly and respectfully repost my content:
Send me an ask with information about where to find the repost (usually platform + username will do). I'll say yes, but just please ask me so I know it's out there.
Credit me VISIBLY in the post. Please don't hide it somewhere, make it front and center the way an artist does with their watermark. In fact, putting my Tumblr URL in as a watermark is a super easy way to do this!
If you come across my content but you don't know it's me, but you for sure know it's not YOURS, maybe don't pretend it's yours? And maybe spend 1-2 minutes copying and pasting it into Google, which will lead you right to my blog.
If the content has been posted in multiple places, it's still really easy to find the original. Check the dates the posts were made and use the earliest post when crediting. For example, in this instance, the forum post was made a week after mine, which proves mine to be the original. Again, it only takes 1-2 minutes to check this using Google.
I really would prefer for them to delete the video and reupload it with proper credit, especially since it's been up for only 14 hours. There's a link here that explains how you can do this while saving the video so you don't have to re-format everything. I'd also prefer for the forum poster to acknowledge that they stole my content. But this is the Internet, so while I can ask for people to be honest and respectful about my content I unfortunately can't enforce it. :(
Edit: The TikTok creator reached out to me and they've re-uploaded the video with credit, which I appreciate! And they did get consent from the forum poster, just unfortunately that poster had stolen it from me. It's still not great that they didn't check their source, and that they didn't even credit the forum user at first. It's a good practice to copy and paste something into Google to check that you do indeed have the original source before reposting.
The forum user has now added a line to credit me at the top of his post. I'm still pissed at him for trying to get away with passing my words off as his own though. At least the TikTok creator asked the forum user first, but the forum user just stole my words without even asking me. What a man moment, to steal the credit for a woman's ideas 😒

Reposting Art
wow!!! something that's not about me!!! yeah, I wanted to complain. I heard that's an activity very popular on social media these days
(TL;DR: just read the blue text)
"This image isn't mine, credit to the original artist!!!!!" is NOT giving credit.
I see this happen a lot online, and as forgiving as I want to be, it bugs me so bad.
Art can be a very personal thing for a lot of people, and the thought of it being OUT THERE for anyone to mess with is very scary. Reposting art without credit, to me, is on par with stealing. That is because you are taking something that is theirs and putting it up in a place that removes their association with it.
It's not hard to credit someone when you use their art for something, though. So don't worry.
1) Check for a watermark.
Usually, artists will write their username somewhere on the piece. If you can find that, it's generally a pretty easy gateway to finding their social(s). To artists: drawing a symbol on your artwork doesn't let people know who you are. Only people who already follow you will know that's your watermark, so it can be a little hard for new people to find you when they see your art on another site. Please write your username somewhere!!!!!!
2) There is no watermark/I couldn't find their account.
This unfortunately makes the process of crediting an artist a little more difficult. But fear not! There are plenty of engines online that allow you to conduct a reverse image search - in which you feed the image to one of these services and find websites where the image may have originally come from. Some also let you find similar looking images, which could be helpful if you were dealing with someone who was tracing instead.
3) Well, the reverse image search didn't come up with anything.
Unfortunate. Just don't use the image. If you can't find the artist, don't repost their work.
There's probably been a billion people who have said stuff like this already, but I really felt the need to talk about it since it's been getting on my nerves. And also since I saw this happening with someone who follows me and wanted to potentially correct them without making them feel like they were in trouble. If you feel like this is all too much effort, I'll have you know I found the original source of an image using a low-res screenshot in just 4 minutes. There's no excuse not to credit. :)
(And also, if the artist says on their socials that theyre not comfortable with reposting, don't do it)

since I know I still have the reposter lurking on my blog to steal more from me and likely will since I didn't want to watermark scans that aren't mine, please at least give repeated credit to the original poster for being where the pages came from in the first place. at least don't disrespect them and their right to credit too. credit isn't hard to give, just like I did with links and all just now

Yes Rosa is a thief for stealing a lot of stuff off your blog that was specifically meant for your blog but the recent sighting post would’ve made it to twitter anyway. I’ve seen plenty of people already post it without crediting you and no one is calling them out so I don’t see why anyone would specifically call her out for doing it. It’s a Facebook post. It’s not something that was specifically meant to only be posted on here. Seems kinda silly to get so worked up about it. If you’re going to call out Rosa for this post then please call out the others who have posted it without credit to you.
i'm not trying to be funny, but did you read the text associated with the screenshot i posted? i'm specifically calling out rosa because she has made dozens and dozens of posts calling me a rat in response to me making posts outlining her thievery, as if it were some kind of farce.. as if she has never visited my blog explicitly to steal commentary and content. this is not about me ''getting worked up'' about someone cross-posting a screenshot, one which i already credited an anon for alerting me to! it's about the utter ridiculousness of this woman so brazenly continuing to farm content from other peoples accounts and attacking them when approached about it.
outside of.. well, rosa, i try not to be a stickler for people innocently reposting things. reposting a screenshot is not the problem here, and i think anyone following this ''saga'' knows this. obviously i'm not here to gatekeep, i'm here to do the opposite in freely sharing things that some would like to keep amongst their circles. but i'm human. i hate watermarks - i don't like to use them and i never have. but you have to realize that it is very disheartening when you see people taking content you have compiled, created, edited, thought out to write, etc. and people just repost the stuff as their own, without ever indicating the very source from which they received that content.
an example of this is the amazon reviews. i was not the first person to find his amazon account - far from it. but i spent hours and hours across several days scouring the internet via obscure search engines and other whacky means to find ones that had not yet been publicly shared, to my knowledge. i did compilations and edited them together for easy viewing. people took those and reposted them all over twitter, tiktok etc. and never once linked back to my account, who did the work. i didn't say a peep about that, but would i have appreciated a shoutout? of course. again.. i'm not a bot. i'm a human. i have a life outside of this blog and i want to share things that make folks happy or entertained, which takes some time. every single time a person has reached out to me to share a lead, a new photo, etc. i have explicitly asked if they wanted public credit on my account when i posted it, as a courtesy and respect for those who contribute. i have never wanted to seem like someone who just slaps my name on something and calls it mine, and to a certain degree i would hope most would operate this same way. hopefully that is reasonable to you.

please take down those jisung gifs you reposted, they’re mine from my stray kids blog and literally have my watermark on them.
I actually got them from an app called vibrary it's a kpop app I saw them there and downloaded a few but my intention wasn't to steal anything I didn't notice the watermark because my point is to spread the name of straykids through different apps because they are one of the best people that ever came in my life I mean I can give you credit if you want but I don't think removing the post would be necessary. Hope you understand.

I just wanted to say that I saw your tweets to those two "fans" and you're right, there are social media laws lol to follow and while it's hard to remember them all the time, breaking them intentionally is wrong. I had seen one of those accounts post a lot of content from here and I didn't know the other was problematic as well so I appreciate you putting out the warning. I hope you have a good day and don't have to deal with this again.
Thanks, nonnie.
It was only one fan btw, the other fan in that convo was also a victim of the reposter (maybe that didn’t become fully clear bc the reposter deleted several of their tweets).
I mean, the funny thing is, that the reposter took a screenshot of my most recent Malex gif set here on Tumblr, and tweeted that at Vlamburn in one tweet, and at the official RNM account and the RNM writers room account in a second tweet.
When I asked them to take those screenshots down bc they were a screenshot of one of my gif set (which I had posted a gif of on Twitter btw), they declined. Their next argument: they’d taken the screenshot on Tumblr and it wasn’t my place to tell them to take it down. And I was like... OKAY??? 😂
They also claimed that there are no rules against taking screenshots and reposting stuff... 😒There’s no official rule or law, but there’s something like fandom courtesy and not being an asshole...
Ultimately, they deleted their tweets, but I see people repost things they saw on Tumblr quite frequently. And often there’s no credit, no link back to the original creator, nothing.
But even if there was a link back or the username still visible, that still doesn’t give anyone the right to repost someone else’s work. Especially not when people tag actors or TPTB in their reposts. Not everyone is comfortable with their fanworks being “exposed” like that.
Tumblr’s still by and large a “fandom only” space, a bit of a “safe haven” if you will (let’s all just ignore the fact that Vlamis likes to snoop around on Tumblr 😱). And many people who create things in fandom prefer that either their stuff isn’t exposed to actors at all, or they prefer to post things themselves.
I understand that people get excited when they see something cute or pretty someone else made, it’s still not their place to repost it. If someone desperately wants to repost something, they should ask first, AND IF THERE’S NO WAY TO ASK THE CREATOR, DON’T REPOST THEIR STUFF. It’s that simple.
I also often see people repost fanvids on Twitter - but not in the way you’d expect. They could just post a YT link to the video (it embeds on Twitter beautifully), no, instead they download the video from YT, trim the video to 2:20 minutes (maximum video length Twitter allows for upload) and repost it - and way too often without giving credit to the fanvidder.
That’s not cute, it’s not “flattering”, it’s fucking rude. Don’t steal other people’s stuff, and don’t repost it either unless you have permission to do so. It’s not rocket science.
GRRRRR
Sorry, got a bit carried away. Lots of things I post get reposted (always find it funny bc I often edit things so they fit here on Tumblr, and people take my altered screenshots and repost them elsewhere LitoISeeYouVillain.gif ;P ), and I don’t really mind all that much, the few things that are important to me are all watermarked, I just found it kinda hilarious that the reposter told me I couldn’t tell them to take down the screenshots bc they took the screenshots on Tumblr... :P
And just bc there was some confusion about what is deemed a repost a while ago: reblogging a post here on Tumblr is NOT a repost, that’s a reblog and helps artists and writers bc their content gets exposure. Same goes for retweeting something on Twitter. Embedding a YouTube or Vimeo video is also not reposting bc the original content is still on YT/Vimeo and accessible in one click.
A repost is taking a screenshot of something, or downloading someone else’s fanart or fanvid, and making a new post where this content is uploaded.
So please don’t be afraid of reblogs (or embedding videos), they are welcome and one of the really cool things about Tumblr. Reposting (especially to platforms like IG or Twitter where actors can be tagged) however, no matter how cute or great the content, please don’t do that without asking the OP first (and please make sure to ask whether they’re okay with actors being tagged).

Just Real Fucking Curious, A letter to Mod Namine
Tumblr media
Why do you, Mod Namine of the Sarcastic Sora Facebook group, who is clearly either my follower but more likely Destiny's follower, think that it's ok to steal and repost my artwork FOR THE THIRD TIME ?
After having been told by me AND OTHERS not to repost my artwork to Facebook. I have made MULTIPLE Posts about not reposting my art. I should not have to explain to you, Admin Namine, the concept of the word NO. The three year olds I teach at the library understand it. Did you skip school or did your school teach you to be a trashcan? Mine taught me manners and I'm finally beyond them because I am fucking tired.
I have tried being kind. I was told im lucky anyone wanted to look at it. Rude and sounds like a child biting the hand that feeds. I've tried explaining why I don't want things reposted, specifically to Facebook, where I have been STALKED through my artwork there and on Instagram. I should not Have to air my personal life to get people to listen and it still didn't work.
I'm really curious why you continue to do this? You take my art down when I ask. Do you think I'm not looking to make sure? If you know I don't like it, and you KNOW I'm going to ask you to remove it, then why do it at all? I legitimately want to hear your side of this. Please come into my DMs and state your case.
I don't want to fucking draw anymore. This is such a breach of personal decency. I don't put hours of my time into artwork for you to NOT EVEN BOTHER ASKING ME. Do you think because Destiny let's you that I'm automatically ok with it? Do you really go "oh Nova said no the LAST TWO TIMES, surely they've changed their policy now."
Of course you don't. You know I haven't, that I'm not going to. You're just being a complete jackass. You just do it because you can with no regard to anyone but yourself and you should be fucking ashamed of yourself. You prey on the fact that artists want to share their work and then weaponize that against them when they call you out on being scum.
Let me spell it out for you, again since you seem to lack any sort of comprehension.
Likes? Yes, good. Reblogs? The best.
Reposting is not in my, and a lot of other artists, terms of service. Eventually, you're going to run out of art to steal because we'll either stop posting, like I want to do, or watermark the fuck out of it, like I'm going to have to do.
I'm not a Kingdom Hearts Content Machine, I'm a Human Fucking Being
Sincerely, but never yours
Novallion
