the fact malleus and lilia weren’t even there to witness silver’s heroic moment at the fairy gala is actually sickening… what were they so busy doing that they wouldn’t even bother to see their adoptive human put on a show AND a pacifist speech (HE EVEN ALLUDED TO LILIA) that undoubtedly improved fae-human relations. they would be so proud…
There's just something so fucking great about the concept of characters like Zeke Banks and Peter Strahm having this complicated relationship to serial killers while having such a strong urge for justice and finding the truth???
Specifically, I love to think about how in the middle of their games of cat and mouse, or at those moments they inevitably share as they sharpen their knowledge on each other and get close enough to bump, when their intentions get a lot more nuanced as they insist on combing through them later again and again... that connection and obsession shoves everything else to second place. Seeing one another tunnels their vision, and their actions will follow rules made on the spot.
But then the world keeps on turning around them when they leave the crime scene with blood on their shirts and a gun that may or may not have been pointed but never used, piles of mangled bodies from 'collaborative traps' and distorted audios calling the remains of another horror story a chance for 'redemption' never stop being found; survivors slam doors in their faces when they come for statements and sob their hearts out at their closed off support meetings— suddenly, it's their place to show remorse, perform the respect and compassion that's lacking in their lovers... and how it impacts them to carry that burden they, against their own better judgement and all good reasoning, carry because they only give this much of a tangible fuck when they're put face to face with that damage.
It's just breathtaking, to wonder how ignorance is bliss and they cover themselves in it for the sake of something they want so badly. The guilt that comes when the blanket slips right off, yanked back by their lovers. Maybe even by themselves, punishment for their own broken vows. Weakness.
So I was rewatching good omens last night and had the realization that queen doesn't actually start playing until e5 of s1. I think that funny because it was mentioned in the book that all the tapes in Crowleys car eventually turn into queen tapes after about a week or 2. And e5 of s1 marks a week since the show started in the timeline and I think that was clever. However, thanks to my friend @not-soph she got me thinking what the tape was before? Now does anyone remember when someone asked Neil gaiman what TVU songs wo7ld be crowleys favorite and Neil said "pale blue eyes" and "ill be your mirror" WHICH IS BASICALLY A LOVE CONFESSION TO AZIRALHALE. Hence why when aziraphale asked about TVU crowley, without any explanation, just says "OH YOU WOULDNT LIKE IT" because bro was HOLDING CROWLEYS LOVE CONFESSION IN HIS HANDS. Now back to the point I was trying to make but got into a side tangent, I think that before the tape turned into queen it was that love confession of a song. Boom, evidence destroyed.
If all the energy that goes into getting encampments swept and banning overnight/large vehicle parking went into establishing shelters and lowering housing costs, we might actually get somewhere in LA. But alas, people are so much more committed to disappearing the problem than they are to actually solving it.
When Gaza is razed to the ground I hope people remember those who were lost. When the rest of the Palestinians who are being massacred all across Palestine are gone I hope the world remembers them all. I hope those who loved them celebrate their memory.
I hope the people whose hands are coated in the blood of these beautiful, brave people remember. I hope they are haunted by their actions every single moment of their entire lives. I hope they feel the suffering that every single Palestinian felt every second of their lives. I hope it's the last thought in their head when they die.
