A lot of people were asking about the fussion trolls God tiers So here they are! Plus the dancestors

In case you forgot them or haven't seen them this is them. They were born like that in this AU, and their hemospectrum it's smaler and has diferent colors as a result.

I'll cover the story of their game as well as their dancestors and ancestors in another post

Here are the dancestors! Like in canon, they played their game and ended up scratching their game. But things went a little diferent for them...

The Legido. Araeta has Aradia's aspect and Nepeta's class, while it's reversed with Damlin, who has Damara's class and Meulin's aspect.

There isn't much to say about them, in the alpha trolls session it was Araeta who ascended last moment and stoped Jack noir. Damlin ascended in order to sabotage the beta troll's session, like Damara did in the original story.

Karlux Captas has Karkat's aspect and Sollux's class, while Mitkri has Kankri's class and Mituna's aspect.

In his session, Karlux took the role of the leader, his classpect Mage of blood should've made it easier to manage leadership (mage=understands aspect. Blood=Bonds) and the session went of well, for the most part, thos the ending was almost the same as the canon one, with them being traped in the meteor and people shooting left and right.

Mitkri was the seer of his team, but his vissions only consisted of fatidic scenarios, which his teammates often ignored due to his insistence geting in the way of progresing in the game. in the end, he lost his mind while using his powers in the final battle, losing conciousness. when he woke while his moirail restored his brain, his prediction had already been fulfilled and they had lost the game.

Teraya has kanaya's aspect and Terezi's class, and Latrim has Porrim's class and Latula's aspect.

As a seer of space, Teraya was tasked with the creation of the genesis frog and was helped by Karlux.

Latrim, she was the secondary healer of the group and kept everyone's mind active

Tavius has Tavros's aspect and Equius's clas, while Rufuss has Ruffio's class and Horuss's aspect.

This arrangement of class+aspect i did simply because the oposite of a heir of breath + rogue of void would've been a Page of void + Page of breath, and that would've been kinda ridiculous, plus i'm trying to have as many classes as i can.

Tavius literally has John's classpect now, he's more free than ever

Rufuss,on the other hand now has Roxy's exact aspect too, which is a funny coincidence. Like roxy he worked on manifesting things for his team.

Dear lord this two.

Erizee has Gamzee's aspect and Eridan's class, while his dancestor Crolos has Kurlos's class and Cronus's aspect.

Due to the wierd conection between the Amporas and Makaras this two would've shared class one way or another, since Gamzee and Eridan have eachother's dancestor's class, with Eridan being a prince like Kurlos and Gamzee being a bard like Cronus, but having the rage aspect like Kurlos and eridan having the hope aspect like Cronus.

I decided against having too Bards because i felt like a price creates a straigther path to destuction. Since a prince not only destroys his aspect but with his aspect, wich means Erizee would've appeared Rageless during the game but exploded in the meteor.

Crolos on the other hand whould've been manipulative like Kurlos but ill intended and gaslighty like Cronus, appearing hopeless until he ended up destroying everyone's hope.

His ghost would've kept instructing Erizee on how to proceed when he reached the new session, Erizee doesn't like him.

The heiresses to the throne of Alternia and Beforus.

again, to avoid having two thiefs (funny enough they would've been a thief of life and a thief of light) Vriezi is a witch of light and Meenea is a sylph of life.

when combining the two Serkets and the two Peixes you get a real interesting result, you get two very similar girls.

To me the fact that instead of them being thiefs, they both have "benevolent classpects" makes it all the more interesting. Makes you think how they can use good powers to cause harm.

Vrieri being the heiress has Feferi's will to dethrone the condesce (wich was alternate-adult Meenea) but Vriska's savage aproach to fighting. And Meenea, like Vrieri, looked forward to dethrone her ruling ancestor (wich was alternate-adult Vrieri) looking to manipulate and eliminate those in her way.

By playing the game, they both lost the chance to do so

if this two cross paths, it'll be a deathmatch on sight

It also means the dancestor's session was unviable from the begining, due to the lack of time and space players. just like the canon Alpha kids session

THIRD PERSON POV

Matt walked the streets of Boston, taking Trevor for a walk.

He hummed small songs, until he bumped into someone very recognisable, Leah, his ex-girlfriend.

The brunette was in a relationship, but the feelings his heart felt when he hit his eyes on the blonde-haired girl was an emotion he never felt with Y/N.

The two started talking a lot, exchanged numbers and scheduled to leave to see each other again. As the week Y/N went by, he realized that Matt was on his phone a lot, laughing, and ended up forgetting his own girlfriend.

The brunette felt upset during the days she saw seeing Matt, who practically didn't care about Y/N. As the weeks went by, Matt started to leave the house a lot, something that was not normal for the boy, after all he hated to leave the house.

The light-eyed boy never let Y/N, who was his own girlfriend touch his phone again, which made the girl very suspicious of it, after all, Matt was never like that.

This weekend, Y/N would go again to the house of the triplets, at this time the brunette and Chris were extremely close, and this was good for the girl who overnight stopped receiving attention from her boyfriend, who before wiped her tears and today is the cause of them.

Matt had invited Leah to go to the boy’s house, which was dangerous, but the two did the same way.

The blonde entered hidden inside the triplet house, the fact was that Matt forgot that Y/N would also be there. As always, Y/N went up the stairs going to greet her boyfriend, if she could call him that. But when he opens the door he is faced with the scene that broke his heart, Matt kissed his ex-girlfriend on his bed.

━━ What the fuck is that? ━━ Y/N's voice came out crying, while the girl looked disappointed at the boy, as well as his brothers.

━━ Y/N! Fuck! I can explain! ━━ Matt quickly walked away from Leah running after Y/N but his brothers tried to stop him

━━ Explain what? That you were kissing your ex? I've already seen that! ━━ Y/N's eyes teared as she tried her best to hold back the tears that threatened to fall.

━━ Slut, didn't you see that you got in the way of my moment with my future boyfriend? ━━ The girl with blonde hair mocked.

━━ Bitch, go fuck yourself and shut up your rotten mouth. ━━ Nick told Leah totally angry with her and Matt.

I leave the house quickly, hiding the tears that finally fell, Matt ran after me calling me, I just ignored him going away to never look him in the face again.

A few weeks after the breakup, Matt and Leah finally took over the return of their relationship, which broke my heart.

Soon I get a message from Chris, asking if I would like to go to the ice cream parlor with him, which I am afraid of, but I end up accepting.

We spent the day having fun, and I ended up being distracted for a few moments about everything that was happening.

A few minutes after I arrive at my apartment, I see the publication of a gossip page, saying that after Matt takes over his relationship with Leah, Chris appears in an ice cream parlor next to me.

I opened the comments of the publication coming across several people cursing me as a slut, whore and even home destroyer, saying that Matt separated from Leah because of me and that now Chris and Matt have moved away because of me too.

I opened my dm, coming at threats from several people, calling me a traitor, without me having done anything.

That killed me once and for all, that I'm literally being hated, for having liked a boy.

People aren't mad because John/Arthur aren't canon, people are mad because the creator made fun of the fans that ship them in the Christmas special

I’m just very used to being in bad fandoms where something as small as “I don’t ship them personally” is taken as a homophobic statement, and people have been saying forever if it’s not canon it’ll be queer bait, so I assumed which I maybe shouldn’t have done but with it coinciding with the “John is a child episode” it just made sense

now, I do have to say though, that while I don’t know a whole lot because I’m not on the Patreon, I was for awhile. Again take this with a HEAPING load of salt for that reason since I clearly don’t know the specific situation. Everything I’m going to say I will try to say from an objective viewpoint since I don’t know the situation and will only focus on the facts I do know.

But how is this new? For the karaoke creep special they keep calling it weird to call each other romantic terms. And when Arthur died by not sacrificing the little guy last season Harlan was ROUGH. He said anyone who voted to not sacrifice were children smashing dolls together, that they forgot the story they were in and hopefully this punishment would remind them that actions have consequences. He basically said this is your fault for being stupid. He ended up having to post a semi apology saying it’s eldritch horror story, it’s supposed to be about harshness and not knowing the consequences before hand, and that he teases his audience and that if they don’t like that this isn’t the right show for them. His phobia play through he did a bit as Arthur and John where he was like “and we are NOT doing anything in the shower no matter what the fan fictions say” “let them dream John”

I also would like to mention that word of god should be ignored in these stories and that Harlan does NOT have a PR team. Again I don’t know the situation. I don’t know if he was ad libing live, in which case he should be given more Lee way as self editing in the moment is hard, I don’t know how if he said the most vile stuff alive, or if he said something a little mean but harmless like the “no we are not doing this” “let them dream” or what. Maybe it is bad and he deserves to be roasted, idk.But making jokes about a non canon thing can be a normal thing, especially if it’s a thing people keep bugging you about.

I do know that fandom as a whole has a problem attacking people over though, being someone who frequently got called homophobic for headcanoning single characters as aro, this one specifically has already harassed him about this ship which I’m sure gets annoying, and that he has explicitly said he will poke fun on the Patreon, and that he has said Jarthur won’t happen, and that he is one guy without the means to sort through hate mail removed from situations and doesn’t have a PR team to tell him “hey this off the cuff joke is a bad idea”

all that being said, again I do not know what he said specifically. I think either way a lot of people need to reassess if this is the fandom for them. I’ve seen a lot of people only get into the show for shipping and then get mad when there’s eldritch horror and the attitudes of eldritch horror in the eldritch horror podcast. If he said something that bad then maybe consider getting out since he writes about delicate subjects and it will only get worse. If what he said wasn’t that bad and people are getting mad about being lightly teased but it wasn’t confrontational or homophobic, they might want to leave because that’s just what Harlan does, tease people, and it’s not new and will continue, especially about non canon stuff in his own work. And if you got into and are only staying for the shipping…. Yeah. If that’s the only thing you want maybe it’s time to move on.

and if you decide to stay, know that. Know and be warned ahead of time that you will be teased so it isn’t a surprise next time

edit: so I did get the full context quote and it’s literally just “we want to hang out together alone for Christmas” “platonically, as in canon” “oh of course of course.” This. This isn’t bullying. It’s a little tongue in cheek sure but the whole thing is just saying it isn’t canon. I’ve heard complaints on comments on this post about other stuff he’s done, which I don’t know much about but is also applicable. I did my best to say “either way, this is stuff related.” As someone who writes and has written things before where every single chapter people kept pushing for something I wasn’t going to write I get it. I’m not saying anything he might have done is right but I think it’s understandable at the very least, for a writer to be upset about his stuff being constantly misinterpreted and having fans try to push it where he doesn’t want it.

him reminding people it won’t happen is fine, especially when people keep accusing him of queer baiting. I still think what I said earlier stands even hearing other opinions, because although I can’t say either way, it seems like everyone who is upset says this is a repeated behavior, and if you stay you can’t be surprised by it every time. If it’s going to bug you you have to either be prepared for it to keep happening or leave.

That isn’t to say no one can be upset about anything else but this specific thing I don’t think is worthy of that. All he did was jokingly repeat canon in character (which is much better than like. Someone who keeps hinting at something and never giving it) in a teasing manner. He didn’t say anything negative about shippers, or anything homophobic, just said “hey remember kids, we aren’t into each other like that.” Which is. Fine. It’s annoying but it isn’t malicious.

If the issue is mods or his interactions with people say that. Don’t make it about him light heartedly going “don’t accuse me of queerbaiting.” it makes it so when actual issues like what people are talking about in the comments (if they’re legit, again I try to stay only in the actual content part and abstain from knowing about creators) come up no one takes them seriously because so many molehills were mountained.

If you’re pissed about how he talks to his fans say that, don’t make it about a lack of queer rep when he said day one there wouldn’t be any. Make it about the issue itself. You don’t mention that someone’s a domestic abuser for example after you say “and they have NO CHEESE in their house thats MONSTROUS who does that.” If you want to be taken seriously about a problem you focus on the thing that matters which is. Hurting people.

I guess at the end of the day I’m no one’s boss, but I am tired of not knowing what to believe or not when someone saying something like “no comment” on if characters they wrote are together is homophobia, or a character who’s been Described as a dick acting like one and then the creator gets accused of being shitty (random examples not to do with this specific fandom). If everything is a big deal that makes someone the worst when the subject is not actually hurting anyone… it’s exhausting. Idk anything about Harlan. At the end of the day I’m here for my little horror stories. But I will say definitively that I don’t think it’s bullying to say a ship is not canon and that to act like it is makes it impossible for people who actually care about morals and what someone is doing to keep the energy to stay that way without becoming part of a mob just taking people at their word.

If it upset you I’m sorry, it’s always disappointing when our take on media is dismissed, especially by the creator. And it’s fine to be disappointed. I get that. But don’t blow it out of proportion, and don’t make it about something it isn’t. If you’re upset about the quote say that it’s disappointing without saying it’s punching down. The author is dead and it’s one of the biggest podcast ships out there. If you’re upset about anything else make a post about that issue without tying it to this fun bonus non canon episode. You are allowed to be upset just and if it is about shipping: stop making someone disagreeing with you about a ship a big controversy. You can ship whatever you want regardless of canon and no one is trying to stop jarthur shippers, and if it isn’t about that stop making things about shipping if that’s not what it’s actually about.

AND IN THE CASE OF THE PEOPLE VS RANMARU THE VERDICT IS…

GUILTY!!!

(Not my best work but I decided to make a proper ‘thank you’ art last minute, sorry it took so long) *Now I’ll give a full explanation (of what I’m generally thinking about saying in class) under the cut. also my pictures aren’t updated BUT they are very similar to the final product (my professor let me do some proofreading cause she’s gonna use my slides for examples)

So the summarized version of my case (for all who forgot) is that on a school day afternoon Haruaki had gotten jumped on the academy’s roof while getting a package for the Principal. The crime scene was covered in feathers, papers that turned out to be photos of the main suspect, an empty box, and a sentient potted plant. After our favorite suspicious tengu was reported to be flying nearby and bragging about getting an “ultimate score”, Ranmaru Karasuma was taken into custody for this.

Term explanations (updated version)

Ranmaru is high in practical intelligence. This type of intelligence means that he is able to adapt and manipulate his environment to his benefits. An example of this is when in Chapter 101 when he tells Haruaki to pretend to be his ancestor that he happens to look exactly like to manipulate ranmaru’s ex coworker, Byakko, into helping them fix a disastrous issue. This works since Byakko has a deep fanatic love for Haruaki’s ancestor. This shows that he isn’t above using people’s weaknesses and to get them to do what he wants. Knowing this, ranmaru can easily manipulate Haruaki into letting his guard down with what he already knows about him, the fact that Haruaki has a hyperfixation about sailor uniforms.

Ranmaru karasuma has an avoidant attachment style. This style of attachment is where the individual is distant, blames others for their mistakes, is unwilling to show their feelings, and has more positive views on themselves than others. He shows this attachment style in chapter 108. During a misunderstanding between him and the principal. his first response, after revealing one of his crimes, was to run away and blame the principal for not understanding him.

An even better example chapter 93, where he shows that not only does he physically but also emotionally distance himself from others. It is seen that after committing a crime that even the heavens could not ignore,he not only kept the information that he would be punished from the principal, but also coldly pushed him away. He even cracked one last joke before he got graphically punished, not even showing the audience his true thoughts and feelings. In this same chapter, we can see that he didn’t try to reach out to the Principal after his punishment, with their first meeting after the incident being unexpected, as if he was avoiding him on purpose. Because ranmaru is distant and unwilling to show his emotions and thoughts, the possibility of him doing something like stealing from the person he is closest to , the principal, instead of asking, means that he is likely the culprit.

Ranmaru is low in agreeableness. This means that he can be selfish, uncaring and critical of those around him, and rather unkind. Ranmaru usually steals from the people around him, justifying it by putting the blame onto the victims. He also bad mouths those close to him to people who don’t need to know. Towards most people, in most situations, he only show interest and kindness if he can use them for his own gain, such as getting money from or scrounging off of them. This makes him very likely to have committed the crime of stealing from the principal.

anyway time for personal thoughts I guess…

Big thanks to all of you who had obviously thought really hard about this! And now I’ll explain how it is supposed to be done in my class.

We (my class) were supposed to use of preexisting fictional character’s psychological traits (as shown below) to use as evidence for their verdicts, and as time had went on all of his traits didn’t really…help his innocent case. Like a lot of examples that I was able to use only proved that he was guilty. And all of my observations (or at least the traits we could choose from to explain) were really making him come off as villainess. So I made it so that he was guilty (originally I wanted to trick my class into thinking he was guilty only for him to be innocent) cause I literally couldn’t defend him.

Me: I’m gonna make you innocent! Ranmaru: Good luck with that.

TLDR - Ranmaru’s traits and personality didn’t give me a good defense for him so I made him guilty…probably should’ve seen this coming since in his literal first introduction he called himself a villain but still

Once again I apologize in advance if this comes across as rude, I think it’s just how I talk lol.

I understand that Adam’s issue was not simply that hilled that human, or that that scene was the only reason he became evil, I know what his larger problems where but the narrative paints him killing that human in self defense as a reflection of said larger issues, as a sign of the dark path he was on.

Wether or not it was the first choice to kill Adam or fight the ace ops it was still shown to be the right choice, and not as signs of some larger issues with team rwby. Another example I forgot to mention was the happy huntresses

the white fang tried non-violence, they tried it for YEARS before sienna took over, sienna took charge because ghira’s methods weren’t getting the results the fuanus wanted.

Yo are right that sienna’s methods aren’t explored. and that’s very much part of the problem. The narrative simply accepts ghira’s methods without any challenge whatsoever. There is currently nobody who will challenge or even question his methods.

You are also correct that the white fang is not the only aspect of Blake’s character. In fact I agree that every other aspect was generally very well handled. But in regards to her activist side it really seems unlikely it will be improved even ignoring recent severely unfortunate revelations

I think we'll have to agree to disagree.

I don't personally think the show has ever endorsed fullscale pacifism--I mean, the opening trailers involved all the girls fighting, but learning how to fight smartly. RWBY is not against fighting. RWBY is against treating people like pawns or collateral damage. Hence the consistent chess motif.

I genuinely do not think it frames the faunus as wrong for fighting and I don't understand how people seem to view "don't murder innocent people" as "just accept things." it frames Adam as wrong for using pain to create more pain. It suggests fighting to protect what you love and for equality is good. That's the climax of Volume 5, too--with Ilia, with the Belladonnas, with the faunus arriving at Haven.

In fact, Blake's whole arc is that she needs to fight. Her problem is that she runs. In volume 5, she needs to persuade the faunus to act.

Fighting is good in RWBY. It's just saying don't call killing other people noble or good, because it's not. And as much as I have issues with Adam's character, his death is seen as tragic--a relief, sure, but it's not something the characters cheer for. Some people wrote really good replies to my initial post that you may want to check out.

Adam's framing in that moment is only as you say if you take the events chronologically, but not the story. Meaning, if we lay out Adam's life step by step, yes, that's earlier. But if we look at the events in the order that the story reveals them, it's pretty late in the game. There's a reason we first learned about Adam through his relationship with Blake and his cult-like actions before we learned about that moment. You are supposed to see that as him revealing the parts of himself that we, the audience, already know are there, not as a plot twist that we didn't see coming that recontextualizes everything.

I think you may also be confusing the White Fang with the faunus. The majority of faunus are not members of the White Fang, and this is hammered home in Volume 5. The idea that the narrative accepts Ghira's methods without challenge is also not true according to canon and according to your own points; he lost his position in the White Fang because he wasn't effective, and almost had his family murdered. That is, simply put, a challenge. He only becomes more effective when Blake and Sun and Ilia help him. (We also haven't seen the faunus arc in Atlas play as much of a role; I would think it'd be capped off in Vacuo.) The point is that the faunus as a whole, including Ghira, have to fight.

And the narrative doesn't condemn Sienna either; her death is portrayed as wrong, and Ghira himself says that even if they didn't agree on methods, she was a powerful force for the faunus and they supported the same cause of liberation. That itself could of course be explored if it was a greater focus, but there's not time for it alas.

Anyways, those are my thoughts. I kinda don't have energy to continue this discussion, but thank you for weighing in, and for your explanation of your original asks. I hope you have a good day.

Its more for you than anything else. I saw the explosion over gaz and to offer some sort of explanation. The Fandom in large kind of replaced Gaz (who is only member in the 141 who is a poc) with König (who is large, Austrian or German, not in the game but the Multiplayer.

Gaz is a fully developed charakter with flaws and strength and everthing. He has a charakter modle where we are not learning month after the fact that he is wearing a t-shirt instead of a mask. And könig is basically just that. Some voicelines and an ever changing spreadsheet of a few Infos (they can't even decide on a nationality).

So it feels super sus that the Fandom as a whole is ignoring Gaz (who again, is the only poc charakter of the 141) and is spending so much time and energy on someone like könig. And then someone comes along, who admittedly dosnt know a whole lot about the game itself, forgets gaz (like 90% of the Fandom in large ignors him) and just add to a fire she didn't even knew was going on.

I do understand how frustrating that must be for both sides.

i totally get that, and i understand the frustration behind it as well. But that anon could have easily voiced their opinion calmly, just as you're doing now, without attacking me out of the blue.

I don't know about other people, but I personally have not consumed any content about gaz and i'm not really familiar with his character. With that said, I'm not going to lie and say that i didn't know he was in 141, because I did. I literally just forgot, though.

Besides that, everyone's preferences are different, and no one should be put on the spot if they happen to not obsess over one poc character that much, and be accused of being racist. Like, what the fuck?

No one can tell me which characters to like and not like. And I don't choose which characters to write for based on the color of their skin, jesus christ.

That anon had a lot of shit to say about my writing and how it's so bad, but if they took the time to actually check my masterlist they would have seen that I write for hobie brown. A character from atsv, who is literally a poc. Not to mention I literally have gaz in the visuals posts, as well.

OK finally watching oshi no ko anime, it turns out all i needed was to go outside for like an hour and im normal again

my thoughts under the cut (writing as i watch) (long) (lots of thoughts) (beautiful and true?) (manga reader) (don't read if anime only) (spoilers) (seriously) (i talk alot) (lots of thoughts)

at this point i've reread oshi no ko enough times that even if i didnt already know japanese i could probably make it without the subs SDJLF but its so cool to see lines and panels that im so familiar with brought to life!! i also liked goro's death scene, especially the way they used static and cut between shots. i keep on pulling out my physical copies of onk (well mostly vol 1) and pointing at my screen and the corresponding part of the book like

2. AIIIII little known fact about me is that ai is genuinely my favorite character... WHICH SUCKS BECAUSE SHE DIES IN THE FIRST VOLUME. seriously we only ever get to see her after this when a. her name or demeanor is invoked by another character b. aqua has his numerous mental breakdowns or c. flashbacks (including but not limited to aqua's mental breakdowns). i am always down for ai content!!!

3. its so much easier to ignore the weird vaguely sexual stuff from their babyhood because i know the rest of the series is normal and cool and not into that sort of stuff👍

4. speaking of normal yayayay it's aqua back when he was actually normal and not "normal" :D like he is just a baby. do you think now that oshi no ko is popular people will get into internet arguments about whether you can ethically have aqua as your favorite character post-normalification. actually wait this may already have been happening in the dark depths of some discord server out there.. but i dont use discord so im blissfully unaware

5. OH i dont think ive seen all of the OG b komachi before? or at least not in high detail. epic!

10. i like how gotanda gives his business card to a toddler. whats he gonna do, call you on his fisher price dial phone? well actually nevermind aqua is probably the only other toddler (alongside ruby) who could make use of a business card

KANAA LETS FUCKING GOOOOO but also nothing will ever top 'lick a lying snitch/flick a crying switch'...... nothing ever... :( also taking the opportunity now to say ive always found it hilarious she assumed 'aqua' is his stage name and not his actual legal name, that's how ridiculous it is DSKLFJ

12. sobbing at the ruby ai dance... dont even have that many words i just really like it.. do you guys think ai was thinking about her own mom [& abuse/lack of relationship thereof]? not even just in this scene but in her more serious moments when she's thinking about her kids it's like "i want to make millions so they can go to the nicest schools and have the nicest things" "i want my daughter to dance freely and happily and i will support her in this" which ig can also be excused as 'thats just what a normal parent wants' but idk i like taking into consideration her own past and lack of parental support when looking at the way she tries to raise her children (not that she exactly got a chance to, even while still alive)

13. also i realized at this point that ep 1 is like an hour long not just because of the whole 'we gotta make sure no one drops this before the reveal that shows what this story's actually gonna be about', but also because it would be kinda awkward to have cut any of these scenes out? or not like out completely but like from each other. like if we had ended ep 1 at for example where they do their silly baby dance and go twitter viral (chapter 5 aka the midpoint of vol 1). that wouldve been terrible. but we can't cut it any earlier, or any later. ai's death feels like the natural conclusion to this problem. also i can't really see much of the other sections being stretched out to fit a full episode length being done very well. having ep 1 be a full 90 minutes lets them be as long as they need to be, aka a 1:1 adaptation of the manga.

15. i don't have anything to say about ai's outlook that has not already been said but this is the scene that made her my favorite character. not being able to tell at what point your lies become reality.. not really knowing if you've ever loved or been loved truly because your entire concept of 'love' was based off insincerity necessary for survival.. and now not ever being given the chance to explore what 'real love' means to you. FUCK

20. another part of that montage shows a house with a wii in it, which came out november 19 2006. characters are shown using twitter which started earlier that same year; it was a pretty popular website even in 2008, but the mobile app only became a thing in like 2010. i'm seeing a mix of flip phones and smart phones so this has gotta take place sometime around 2010. it's kinda difficult to tell exactly what age the twins are in the main story because like the first page of vol 2 has ruby listing her age as 14, but - and the proof is not at my finger tips rn - i swear to god they're like 16 at this point. i have legitimate reasons to believe this but i need to grab exact proof adding to that we also have 15 years of lies, which if im remembering right would be referring to the twins age? i was trying to logic out exactly what year oshi no ko takes place in even though i already know the answer is 'in the modern day' but anyway yeah i'll just finish my episode and move on

21. THE IPHONE RUBY IS HOLDNIG HAS A HEADPHONE JACK. i want so badly to say that's an iphone 4 but there's like a separation between that and the power button. i also dont have an iphone 4 with me so i cant check it irl :( but anyway the iphone 4 was released in 2010, meaning the evidence is piling up for this part of the story taking place some time around 2010. or maybe i'm looking too deeply into this and should go back to actually watching the episode.

22. this is reminding me i was gonna write a fic specifically about this time period where the twins go to therapy and have to adjust to life without ai, having miyako graduate from fake mom to actual mom, aqua faking being fully recovered from the incident so he'd be released from therapy (fic concept was inspired from him stating this in like vol 6), etc. i never did because i spent like 3 hours researching play therapy and never got anywhere with it.. but maybe...

FINAL THOUGHTS: i liked it alot ^_^ i dont really watch that much anime anymore (not that i watched an incredible amount before, but i am familiar with it) but i really liked this. i think they did a very good job of adapting the first volume! i know the rest of the episodes will be not-film length which does make me a bit sad because i think it would work out well, or at least not badly, if they were. it does also make me really excited for the future, seriously i will actually explode when i see the theater arc in full. cannot wait to see aqua mental breakdowns and ruby evil arc and and and and

the only thing i would've liked is if they could somehow have found a way to incorporate the pre-chapter intro scenes from the manga where they're talking about 15 years of lies, interviews with their pre-school teacher, etc. though both the pre-school teacher and the aforementioned bandana guy appear which may have been their way of doing it? like adding a fun detail for obsessives like myself to point at like 'my god it's those guys from exactly 2 panels in the manga'

Kelvin Mackenzie is one of the biggest lying pieces of shit in the history of British journalism. In my opinion his lies about the Hillsborough disaster should have been enough to prove to everyone in positions of power this this prick is reprehensible bastard who should be left to rot for the rest of his meaningless life. However in the years since he wrote those horrific, upsetting lies he has continued to find work mainly by newspaper editors who want as many people buying their papers as possible even if it's because they're filled with baseless gossip and slanderous lies. He also posts a lot of unfounded shit on Twitter and relishes in ignoring when people fact check his bullshit and just moves on to the next lie. A while back I was thinking of starting a new Twitter page called "Chortul Spelleen Misstakes" where I would post whenever an article on the comedy website Chortle would spell a word incorrectly (which is basically every article) but now I think my time would better be spent on a page dedicated solely to writing insulting things about Kelvin Mackenzie instead. I keep trying to come up with a witty name for this page but because of the hatred this cunt conjures up in me all my brain will give me is "Kelvin Mackenzie Is A Fat Smelly Cock Cunt". It's not clever but it is concise. Theres a clip of Mackenzie giving "evidence" to the Levison enquiry where he states that his philosophy when he was editing The Sun was that if a story sounded true it was probably true and it was worth bunging in. With this in mind I think that I state in this pages bio that "All stories posted on this site were told to me by anonymous sources close to Kelvin and because they sound true I think they probably are true so they're worth bunging in". My first anonymous source provided me with my first breaking news story about him:

Later on I learned that the singer Aaron Carter died. I will state upfront that I know next to nothing about Aaron Carter. I haven't heard any of his songs and I know nothing of his career. However I do remember having a deep seeded hatred of this guy when I was a teenager because this lucky bastard both Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan. I had huge crushes on both these girls when I was a horny young teenager and so was insanely jealous of Carter for being able to bang both of them (presumably it must have been fairly easy though because Duff and Lohan were feuding at the time so he instantly had an in with Duff after he broke up with Lohan:

Watched my first live Lakers game of the year as they took on the Caveliers. They started off strong mostly thanks to Russell Westbrook but went to shit in the third quarter and had fallen 17 points behind. The Lakers have not been doing well lately...or last season for that matter. I have a theory why they're playing so badly (but keep in mind that I'm mentally insane and so it's probably not true...but it sounds true so it probably is true). LeBron isn’t that far off from overtaking Kareem Abdul Jabbar for the all time record for most points scored during an NBA career. He just needs to score another 1000 points and he'll overtake him. Since LeBron has already led the Lakers to a Championship win once before I think that breaking Kareem's record is now more of a priority for LeBron and he knows that if he just carries on playing games at a relaxed ace then he will indeed break the record in a couple of years. Perhaps the reason he seems to be taking it easy lately is because he doesn't ant to risk a serious injury this close to breaking the record and being seen by many (at least in terms of points) as the greatest player whoever lived. As much as it pains me to say it I think the Lakers would probably be better off without James at this point.

ok, so.

you’re probably acquainted with the numbers. like, 39, 40, 38, ETC. i’ve been seeing 38′s more often, and recently, i’ve seen some things in life that have made me think that maybe i should be focusing my attention elsewhere.

i’ve already discussed them in a few posts already, but i feel i could discuss them in more detail.

first, for those unaware, 40 is a symbol of completion in the bible, 39 means that 40 is close, and 38 means that i should probably take a step back.

now let’s begin.

it all started when i asked my mom’s friend at church what i should do about the numbers. she said she needed to ask god in order to come to a definite conclusion on what i should do. a while later, she tells me that the numbers are a distraction, and that i should give them to god.

the next saturday, i go to church, and tell everyone what i just told you guys. after i finish, my friend starts telling me about how before i even started talking, he heard in his spirit the word “distraction”.

so now that’s two things saying that the numbers are a distraction.

fast forward to very recently. a notable pastor has come to town, and i visit him. i tell him everything i just told you. he says some things about how some people have a gift with numbers. nice, but honestly not that impressive.

...until i realize i forgot to tell him some stuff.

you see, earlier this year, i asked god what i should be doing in life. and if i heard correctly, he said “playing video games”. i think this is what i could be doing instead of doing all of the numbers stuff.

so i tell him this, and guess what he says. apparently, while i was talking to him about all of the stuff, he kept hearing in his head, “video games, video games, video games”.

so, god thinks the numbers are a distraction(and it’s likely the only reason i keep seeing them is either because i’m intentionally looking for them or because god knows it’s the only way to get the point through to me), and that i should probably be playing video games.

also, for those of you who think i’m making this stuff up. do you really think i would come to the conclusion that the numbers are a distraction and that i should be enjoying casual activities on my own? listen. i am just too reliant on others when it comes to seeking guidance, and i don’t do certain things(ignoring the numbers & playing video games instead) unless i am absolutely sure about them.

in fact, the fact that god is telling me the numbers are bunk should probably convince you. why would god speak against his own message?

well, that’s my story. have a safe drive home, folks.

My god I'd like to think this is my last straw with my bff. She's been in Europe for the last 6 months on a student exchange and I'm so so happy and proud of her because she is maybe the nicest and most hardworking person I've ever met but recently she's been ignoring me. Anyone would say let it gooo! She's living her best life maybe she doesn't have time to talk. The thing is that partly I agree but I suffer from borderline personality disorder and it makes me really anxious and sad when people ignores me because I automatically feel that I somehow made her mad for some reason i don't even know or that she forgot about me or even worse she hates me. I said well she hasn't answered at least 4 texts that i sent but she's on Instagram daily because of her posts so why wouldn't she answered already? Why wouldn't she react to any of my stories or posts? I can see when she sees my stories. I tried to reach her by different social media and all I got was nothing. Not even a double blue check or a 'seen' notification. Nothing. I honestly had a hard time today because I know she's coming back soon and maybe I'll have to face the reality and accept the fact that she doesn't want me in her life anymore. Since January I haven't shared anything about me with her. I hadn't talked about how I got kicked out of my new job or that I had a boyfriend or something like that. Today was a shitty day because I had to support my mom who is dealing with grief (not in a healthy way) and she always has the most stupid and avoidable 'accidents' to seek attention and pity from others and it pisses the hell out of me because I recognize what she's doing. She's been doing it forever. And apart from that today i texted my friend for the last time. As expected, had no answer. And when I'm sad I fall into my dark spot. Tons of pills. I hate it but sometimes I'm so tired and I feel I have no option than releasing my anger and sadness in that way. The worst part these damn pills won't work as they should. Oh sometimes I hate my reality and myself so much and wonder when all this bullshit will stop? When it's my time to be happy? Or at least in peace. Out of this constant drama that drains my energy so much

Jason Todd’s Childhood Friends

I’m pretty sure these are all of them but if I missed any, let me know!

EDIT: I forgot Chris, so thanks @leoruby-draws for reminding me. (This is another edit actually. I just saw this get a reblog and I suddenly remembered where Danny and Jason being friends came from.) @janestvalentine reminded me of Donald Brinks.

While I’m here again anyways, I just want to say that I’m not including Roy based off that one three page short story. Roy was a whole adult with a child when Jason was 11 going on Titans missions with them. N52 is on something else and I’m not acknowledging it.

In chronological order:

Donald Brinks: Batman (1940) Annual #9 mentions that Jason worked on a school project with Donald. It’s probably not enough proof, but Bruce remembered him kindly. I wouldn’t doubt that Bruce just memorizes any name Jason ever dropped, but we can pretend.

Eddie: In Blue Devil #19, we have Kid Devil and Robin being the absolute cutest babies the world of sidekicks has to offer, and finding out (through their letters, because they’re adorable pen-pals) that they’re after the same criminal. I can guarantee that you have never seen anything more adorable than the tiny pen-pal wonder and his also tiny friend.

Rena: First appearing in Detective Comics #561, Rena was an immediate love interest of Jason’s (literally at first sight lol), and then she instantly invited Jason to get high with her after school. Spoiler: they didn’t, Jason eventually ends up busting the gang that was putting pressure on her, then they’re a couple (of babies). She moved around a lot, every year or so, because of her dad’s job, so she had a bit of a problem with loneliness and not fitting in. Despite all of the drug talk, my girl really was a good kid.

Danny Chase: Right before he figured out that Jason had died, he mentioned that he had called Jason, “Toddster”, earlier that week. The casual phone call and nickname do lean in favour of them being friends, despite never having interacted (because Jason’s time on the Titans had been explicitly confirmed to have carried over from pre-crisis, but he didn’t interact with any of them on panel post-crisis).

Chris: I originally forgot him, but honestly that’s probably for the best. N52 is famous for bad decisions and not knowing how time works, and a very good example of that is Red Hood and the Outlaws (2011) #25 (Zero Year tie-in) having taken place before Jason was even adopted by Bruce, but for some reason he’s already fifteen. That’s not even mentioning how annoying I found the way Talia’s fighting ability was downgraded. Moving onto Chris, himself, though. I’m sure people could argue that he’s a good foil for Jason as a street kid, but I think it’s stupid + he’s annoying. I’ll give him points for including Jason in his (stupid) idea because he wanted him to benefit too, and that he sided with Jason at the end when he could have just ignored him and stayed with the other Red Hoods. But then he only gets more annoying, so.

Gabby: Red Hood/Arsenal #4 shows us Jason being recognized by a waitress at a diner in Gotham, him also remembering her as soon as she did so. Everything about their interaction and the quick flashback is so important because it’s calling back Jason characterization as a kid who had to be rough to help himself and others, all aspects of that being a defence mechanism of some sort. Jason takes a moment to ruminate over how much better his life would be if Batman hadn’t taken him in, not muse that he would be some sort of criminal. I would love to see more that, if writers want to talk about what would have happened to Jason without Bruce so bad. The fact that Gabby triggered that thought in him, as well as reminded him that he was a good kid and helped people long before the cape, really shows that she had weight in his life. She even knew and cared about him enough to deal with when he lashed out. I would complain about Jason implying that he doesn’t care about people, but with the context of the rest of their interaction, it’s obvious that Jason’s self perception is not intended to match the reality. I like what that says about how he perceives his actions and how he thinks others might. His choosing to just help her out with that money but decide to stay out of her life is so typical Jason. I mean that both fondly and derogatorily.

Numbers: Gotham Nights #11. In a home like Ma Gunn’s, while we know he was already a target for the other residents and undoubtedly other people as well, he chose to take the punishment for something he knew Jason had done. All because Jason had been the first to show him kindness after he had already been beaten down by life as a child. It wasn’t the most clear or well done, but I liked that there was subtle commentary on how some people didn’t get to escape a life of crime when conditions force them into it. This story provides proof for why Jason wouldn’t just kill henchmen and people he didn’t deem personally deserving by having chosen to commit unforgivable acts. It’s proof of that choice being the more interesting concept, at least. As with Gabby, Jason doesn’t give Numbers the option of reconnecting with Jason after he has helped Numbers. Not surprising since we’ve seen Jason leave people before they leave him often (example: how he broke it off with Roy Harper).

Dana: She only existed for Red Hood: Outlaw #52 and #52, but she is easily the best original character to come out of RHATO. She’s my personal favourite for so many reasons (it’s literally two issues, please read them), but her friendship with Jason is wonderful too. Considering Dana’s filling him on everything, introducing him to her friends, and that he didn’t know about her being a vigilante before #52 or her dad’s leg, we know they didn’t really get to catch up before Jason left Gotham after UTRH. It’s probable that Dana didn’t even know he was alive until the Iceberg Lounge thing. We know she’s been watching over his old apartment, possibly since he first got adopted by Bruce. They were probably very close when they were kids if that’s the case. Especially since her dad remembered him easily and even characterized him as “polite” and having been “skinny”, all immediately after meeting him again. Same goes for Dana’s sister, Denise, who Jason got along with easily as soon as she showed up, even though they hadn’t talked in years.

Max: Oh, Max. Firstly, I hate this art. Now. Truth & Justice as a whole was a mess because it missed its intention by a whole lot. Seriously, I know DC wanted people to think of it, and I also know that they put effort into making it clear that they don’t care. #10-13 are about Jason attempting to solve the murder of his childhood best friend, Max Dawkins. Max’s death was set up to look like an overdose, but Jason knew that Max would never touch drugs so he set off to find his killer. He does eventually find that killer, Scarecrow, and then there’s some fear gas, an “I trust you.” from Batman, blah blah. Jason is very emotional throughout the entire story, not even attempting to hide how torn up he is over Max’s death. Max gets nothing but praise for Jason and the narrative itself. However, none of that erases that Max’s death was just to give a white boy something to be sad about. It’s more white bs in a comic filled with white saviourism at every turn.

That aside, their friendship truly is beautiful. Jason straight up says that Max was someone he could always trust to be there for him on the streets, and Jason doesn’t usually say stuff like that. This is another case of Jason walking out of someone’s life while helping them, but it feels more tragic because there’s no possibility for a resolution. Just little Robin helping his friend from the shadows and watching his grow.

The FNDM’s ableism has been getting really bad, Clyde. I mean, people are going so far as to compare James and Pietro and say that, because James’ prosthetics allow him to be more mobile, he’s there for “less handicapped”…yeah, really.

Yeah, I came across that comment a couple of days ago, did a horrified double-take, and by the time I'd pulled myself away from a OFMD fic long enough to think about commenting, the rest of the RWDE community had done it all for me.

There's just... so much there. The inherent ableism of believing there's this disability hierarchy at play and every character gets a color-coded sticker for how disabled they "really" are. The biases attached to less visible/less represented disabilities in media (the guy in the wheelchair is accepted in a way the "passing" amputee capable of covering his prosthetics with long sleeves is not). The belief that "real" disabilities are tied directly to suffering (inspiration porn). The belief that Good People (Yang) are inherently "more" disabled and worthy of compassion than Bad People (Ironwood). How all of this is tied up in the rest of Ironwood's character, including his Schrodinger's semblance that reads like a mental illness. Even lacking an acknowledgement of really basic fandom facts like how Ironwood has been written as Penny's dad in AUs because he's been a full-fledged character with a connection to her since Volume 2... whereas Pietro didn't become more than just a profile until Volume 7. Generally speaking, are there problems in fandom at large with ignoring (other) disabled characters/characters of color? Abso-fuckin-lutely. But in this particular case I'd lay that accusation at RT's feet, considering they literally put Pietro in a potentially life-threatening situation and then just forgot about him, including having his magically-turned-human daughter (read: no longer sporting a disability-metaphor body) die without once wondering whether her dad made it to safety. The fans writing fun AUs about a character with Volumes more development because the writers already do not care about Pietro? They're not the ones to go after.

As said, it's all already been covered — I'm late to the party — but honestly? It bears repeating. Not because I believe in dog-piling any one person who makes a mistake, no matter how horrible a mistake we perceive it to be, but because this narrative of, 'I as an individual made a mistake don't blame the fandom at large' is ignoring the bigger problem. The fandom is ableist. Does that mean every individual in it is ableist, either knowingly or ignorantly? Of course not, but it means there's a reason why these takes keep cropping up; why we keep ending up in this cycle of someone saying something ableist, others getting (rightfully) upset over it, and then trying to downplay it like a one-time thing until the next ableist post inevitably comes along. As someone who blocks sparingly, I see all the takes that get tons of notes before someone finally speaks up and says hey, that's not okay. The idea that these takes are the opinions of just one (1) person is nonsense. We exist on a website that literally shows you how many people agree in the form of hearts and that doesn't even begin to cover all the silent readers who agree but never engage. The fandom is ableist because the world is ableist and because the canon has a host of ableism built into it, despite (and sometimes because of) its attempts to give us disabled characters. That's the reason why comments like these turn into "drama." It's never just about you, a one-off fluke posting something bad when that's definitely never ever happened before /s. The entire point is that it keeps happening and that so many support it until the tide turns against them. Fans are up-in-arms about the most blatant ableist comment we've seen in a while because there's been years worth of more subtle, but still very ableist fandom-ing before this. People are sick of it. Ironwood fans in particular are sick of it because too often the ableism they call out is hand-waved away with 'Oh, you're just a lunatic who likes dictators,' or whatever the current insult attempt is. Of course people aren't letting this pass with a metaphorical slap on the wrist because it's not something that has passed. The ableism is alive and well in the RWBY fandom. Libraries' worth of fanart of Yang sporting her prosthetic doesn't erase that.
