Why don’t some of these CC creators just go to Second Life or Daz3D to make money, like geez. Daz3D brings in money and can be a stable career or extra income.

Or are they just too afraid their custom content, which apparently the game can’t exist without, isn’t good enough for people to outright buy instead of pledging donations.

Second, Cowbuild and alot of her friends repeatedly violates the positive play charter by stealing companies models and that whole doxxing fiasco.

The community can still report her for all those violations.

Third they also will have to be careful how they market their content because they often use sims assets in their photos. If they are now just selling 3d models but using sims assets in their promotion that’s not exactly the best look legally. But I’m sure their lawyer informed them of that. Will they continue to use sims 4 hashtags or say it’s for the sims 4? That remains to be seen.

Not sure if their little work around will matter because it’s very obvious what they are doing and now that it’s crystal clear that EA is not ok with it the optics will be pretty bad. There actions will be interpreted as sketchy even if they try to spin it.

The early access and the rest of the community really needs to take a stand against paywallers who refuse to comply. They are the ones that brought the hammer down it’s important that they are chased out if they refuse to comply, because what’s next? Mods aren’t supported all together? Donations aren’t allowed? How much will we as a community allow them to f*ck up? Seriously? Early access creators hopefully you’re sharpening your pitchforks because these weirdos are to blame for your bag getting taken away.

Okay after seeing everything thats going on i dont quite understand. Skyrim,fall out exedra all have people who make mods but dont charge for them ever and they dont have any issues yet with sims people seem to think they can make a career out of it? Theres so much wrong with that. First of all its someone elses game so career off of it isnt gonna work unless the creators themselves hire you. Secondly modding should only be a side thing with 2 week early access at most because alot of people cant afford to pay your prices because ether they are having a hard time getting a job,living pay check to pay check and never have much money left for themselves, make barley. any money at all or just cant work because of disabilities and creators with the months of early access or the perma walls are just taking advantage of those people and only seem them as a source of income so like a business. Consumer relationship no care for the consumer at all. EA doesnt have the time to hunt down and punish every single dang creator who is breaking there rules thats why they did what they did because it was easier and less time consuming. yes alot of people are happy that perma pay walls will be stopped and early access shortened to two weeks but whats wrong with that? If it makes you angry as a creator that probably means your a greedy person who only wants us for our money. So to all the creators bitching fuck you if people can make mods for other games and even this one and not care about being paid you can too. This isnt something you can make a full time career out of so you screwed yourselves not us. You made the decision to do long early acess or perma pay walls, you made the decision to mod and be greedy. We never forced you to do anything it was all your decisions. If a website has a paywall, like New York Times, DO NOT use the ctrl+A shortcut then the ctrl+c shortcut as fast as you can because then you may accidentally copy the entire article before the paywall comes up. And definitely don't do ctrl+v into the next google doc or whatever you open because then you will accidentally paste the entire article into a google doc or something!!!! I repeat DO NOT do this because it is piracy which is absolutely totally wrong!!!

i'm begging you guys to start pirating shit from streaming platforms. there are so many websites where you can stream that shit for free, here's a quick HOW TO:

1) Search for: watch TITLE OF WORK free online

2) Scroll to the bottom of results. Click any of the "Complaint" links

3) You will be taken to a long list of links that were removed for copyright infringement. Use the 'find' function to search for the name of the show/movie you were originally searching for. You will get something like this (specifics removed because if you love an illegal streaming site you don't post its url on social media)

4) each of these links is to a website where you can stream shit for free. go to the individual websites and search for your show/movie. you might have to copy-paste a few before you find exactly what you're looking, but the whole process only takes a minute. the speed/quality is usually the same as on netflix/whatever, and they even have subtitles! (make sure to use an adblocker though, these sites are funded by annoying popups)

In conclusion, if you do this often enough you will start recognizing the most dependable websites, and you can just bookmark those instead. (note: this is completely separate from torrenting, which is also a beautiful thing but requires different software and a vpn)

In the midst of all our celebrating the death of paywalls, we think it’s super important to remind you that a lot of creators who were following the guidelines laid out by Drake are in a really precarious situation right now. If you can, please support your favorite early access creator or free creator with a donation. If you can’t monetarily support them, maybe start signal boosting their content. They earned it! There are so many who add so much to this game who truly deserves this community’s gratitude. It’s easy to get caught up in pointing and laughing at all the a-holes who have been taking advantage of the community for so long but let’s also take this as an opportunity to uplift creators that give back to it.
