Started a post comparing the Messner-Loebs Flash and WW runs and their successes and failures (imo) in portraying certain themes and their similarities to each other but it started getting long and im a very slow tumblr post writer so that's a meta for another day. What are your thoughts on the new Mean Girls movie

I'm really intrigued, I know you like the sumeru squad, but my favourite dynamic among them is actually Alhaitham and Cyno! I wanted to know what you think of them!!
I think they're very similar sometimes, but Alhaitham is introverted and his jokes are hard to distinguish (because he's too smart for anyone to understand that he's not /srs hahaha) and Cyno is extraverted but his jokes are just awful, BUT I think they like each other's jokes a lot, and I think they encourage each others' theatrical/playful sides. I also think they'd both enjoy going to watch performances together since Alhaitham and Nilou became friends after that event before, and we all know Cyno likes to watch.
I also think Alhaitham probably enjoys playing Genius Invocation with him, since he evidently really values passionate people. He'd let Cyno infodump like crazy about his new cards and how he feels about new rules, and even though he'd make "oh woooow that's so interestiiiing" sarcastic comments, he'd sit still and keep the information. And Cyno knows he's like this, so he's happy to go on, but he'll start being like "if you don't want to listen to someone talking, you could go do your job" and they'd both be like "lol :)"
He also really respects and trusts Cyno canonically (for example his story quest relied on Cyno understanding his secret messages, and once he got there, Alhaitham immediately stepped back to let him work) which I think is a huge deal for him, since most of the time he wants to be at the center of things so he can keep the situation under control. Luckily with Cyno he knows he can leave trouble in trustworthy hands.
They're both just the type of person to be straightforward and say exactly what they think, and although they've definitely butted heads because of it before, I think they would really treasure that honesty in their friendship. I think they'd really enjoy each other as friends.
Anyway it's a shame that they're both so misunderstood by the fandom, I feel like their friendship gets ignored because people think Alhaitham is a cruel person, and people seem to forget Cyno exists if he's not being shipped with someone 🥲 they're two of my favourite characters and I love them so much 😭

Cyno is way too shonen in his routine, and AlHaitham is his perfect opponent (this kind of Frienenemies but lighthearted) and Alhaitham doesn't mind bahahaha he spends good time with Cyno being competitive and him being effortless strong in whatever he does

Forgive me, but I'm about to rant. But my least favorite part of the discussion of female characters in the marauders fandom, is that I think everyone has this warped idea of how the women characters need to be. AND IF WE'RE GONNA TALK LITTLE WOMEN, this is actually PERFECT. Did it not teach us all the beautiful ways women can be women?? Because I believe both jily and jegulusers often get Lily Evans wrong. Women are more than just wives and mothers, but they are also more than just cardboard cutouts of a Strong Female Character. Like let Lily l be soft and kind but ALSO smart and strong, with dreams and passions. HELL let some of the female characters be a little bit of a loser. Let them be weak and make mistakes, that's not misogyny. REAL WOMEN ARE LOSERS TOO. REAL WOMEN FUCK UP SOMETIMES. Lily shouldn't be defined by her relationship with James, nor by her LACK of it. Like it's not the end of the world if she's not Harry's mother. The beauty of feminism is believing that women can and should be allowed to do and be whatever they want. So Lily can be more than one thing, and I think that's the flaw in a lot of fandom and fic representations of Lily.

(to answer your question, yes, there will be more of the trailer park au. current plan is to write a new part each day until i have enough for a chapter, then publish the chapter on ao3; rinse and repeat through the end of nanowrimo and see where that gets me. so far i’m finding it a lot easier to stay focused on a single continuous story when i write in little daily snack bites like this, but we’ll see how the rest of the experiment goes 🤷♀️ i’m having fun with the story for now, so that’s really all that matters.)

@bubblegyu00 - energetic, humorous, and chatty,, our convos are extremely fast paced and go on for the entire day. i'm always laughing at smth or we're always losing it over smth someone did (usually a zb1 member or nicho tbh). she's energetic and keeps up with my pace and i do the same with hers. she also makes me laugh which is why i said she's humorous. we're always going on and on abt the same 3 things yet we never get tired of it like its gonna eat every single time PLS. @xhdream - we've started to talk in the dms now and dinna's such a sweet girlie :(. i would describe her as easy-going, charming, and friendly. dinna's sooo so cute and always so sweet to me and she has been since the beginning. talking to her has been so fun so far cuz she's very approachable and she engages in the conversation so so much. our time difference is very big so we have to catch each other at a specific time but it's worth it everytime. there's just something about her that's so fun and so kind and that's why i said she's charming. her and her blog just have this good and sweet energy that i really really enjoy <3

this song is about introspection and personal growth. the lyrics discuss emotions and memories while acknowledging the pain and mistakes of the past. the song explains that yes, you can make mistakes and go through issues, but you can also look forward to the next day and what's next. you can choose to be positive and hold your head up high, even through the struggles. i feel like this fits tk— he chooses to live in every moment, while acknowledging that he's made mistakes and has gone through some problems (addiction/past relationships) in the past.

this song is about a complex father/son relationship that is only intensified by grief. the first half of ths song expresses resentment and disappointment towards the lack of a relationship w/ the dad (ie. unable to confront him over unspoken actions that have caused a rift. sound familiar?) the second half is more forgiving, more gentler. it talks about the influence and positivity surrounding that father/son relationship, a desire to share life experiences and seek a sense of closure due to grief. i think that the carlos and gabriel relationship is very complex and fascinating, especially now that gabriel has died and carlos has all of this grief inside of him: what does he do with all of it? (the day i write my gabriel/carlos exploration fic is the day that i'll celebrate.)

this song explores the nuances of a romantic relationship. the softness, the passion and challenges that comes with being in love/allowing yourself to be loved by somebody. this song reflects on the intimacy and intensity of the concept of loving— and it has that overall “floating” feeling people get when they allow themselves to fall in love. to me, tk and carlos are always redefining what love is— when they first get together, when they get back together post-breakup, when they’re engaged and finally, when they get married. i think that there’s this constant “passion” when it comes to them and that’s only intensified by the time they’re married. plus. it’s kali uchis. i don’t need to say anything else.

this song is very dear to me, let me start out by saying that. this song is about carving out a space, it’s about saying— look, i am here too, and i belong here, just like you do. this is all my opinion. as a woc, and maybe i’m just talking here— i feel like paul/grace/nancy/tommy (yes, carlos/marjan/mateo too— but i want to talk abt them specifically for a moment.) they have all had moments to where they haven’t felt welcome— is it because of how they look? of how they talk? or is it because of something totally different? they’re all talented first responders too, right? i feel like that the feeling of “you are not welcomed” kind of follows them around no matter where they go, no matter how progressive your coworkers are— there’s always that feeling of doubt inside that can’t go away. especially (if you’re paul and nancy, being a poc and part of the lgbtq+ community is def something that makes people pay attention, negatively or positively). however, this song turns all of that on its head and celebrates that, celebrates who you are no matter what you look like. look at me, i’m a damn good person, and i belong here, and i will continue to have my voice heard.
