Parentwined: a family-themed TTRPG

Hello sweet people,

I’m making my own tabletop roleplaying game and am looking for some feedback and playtesters who might be interested in trying out my game!

💚 Game premise

You are a family of immigrants in an English-speaking country. Your parents are in their 40s/50s and you are in your teens/20s. You must learn to get along, love each other, and communicate better despite your cultural and generational differences.

💚 Intended audience

Anyone who wants to:

1. Explore familial relationships 2. Learn to resolve relationship problems 3. Communicate better 4. Address cultural and intergenerational traumas in the family and themselves 5. Have fun with trusted friends in a safe environment

💚 Intended player size

2-6 players

💚 Game length

Anticipated average session length is 2-4 hours, and anticipated session number is 2-5 sessions for one game.

💚 Core mechanics

1. Relationship building focused roleplaying, no combat 2. Eight different personality attributes (stats) affecting D20 rolls 3. Desires, Values, Secrets, Traumas, and Vulnerabilities affecting roleplay 4. Empathy checks 5. Emotional Power (EP) Dice

I made a brand new discord server to hopefully gather some interested participants to give the game a test run or two. All playtesters will be credited upon game’s completion and will receive a free copy of the game PDF!

मुलांचे आरोग्य हि प्रत्येक आई वडिलांची काळजी असते.त्यात आजकाल मुलांचं शेड्युल फार बिझी झालाय. शाळा, अभ्यास, वेगवेगळ्या ऍक्टिव्हिटीज यात मुलांचा दिवस कसा जातो हेच कळत नाही. मुलांची शारीरिक हालचाल, व्यायाम पाहिजे तेवढा होत नाही. आजकाल मुलांचा बौद्धिक विकास जरी चांगला असला तरी फिजिकली कमकुवत होत चालला आहे. वातावरण बदलल कि मुलांच आजारी पडणं, वायरल इन्फेक्शन .... या गोष्टी तर आजकाल कॉमन झाल्या आहेत.

मनसोक्तपणे खेळण नाही, बागडन नाही, स्पर्धांच्या मागे धावणं.फक्त अभ्यास, मार्क्स आणि त्यांच्या मागे टॉपर होण्यासाठी असलेला तगादा ..... तेच जर त्यांच्या तब्येतीकडे लक्ष दिल तर नक्कीच उत्तम ठरेल. आजकाल बऱ्याच लहान मुलांमध्ये शारीरिक आणि मानसिक ताण जाणवून येतो. काही मुलांचे कॅल्शियम कमी तर कोणाला व्हिटॅमिन ची कमतरता......

मुलांच्या आरोग्यासाठी, त्यांच्या आयुष्यासाठी आणि भावी पिढीसाठी उत्तमोत्तम आरोग्य लाभावे म्हणून एक पालक म्हणून आपण नक्की प्रयत्न करत राहायला हव. पौष्टिक आहाराचा समावेश करणे. होताहोईल तेवढ जंक फूड टाळणे. मुलांसाठी डाएट चार्ट बनवणे.एकदम नाही पण हळू हळू या गोष्टींची सुरवात तर करता येईल.

एकंदरीतच सगळ्याच बाजूने पाहिलं तर मुलांच्या आरोग्यावर होणार परिणाम हा विचारात घ्यायलाच हवा. एक पालक म्हणून आपल्या आणि मुलांच्या चांगल्या आरोग्यासाठी नक्कीच प्रयत्न करायला हवेत. यात प्रत्येकाची मत वेगवे���ळी असू शकतात. पण यामागे "मुलांचे उत्तम आरोग्य" हेच ध्येय प्रत्येक पालकाचे असते.

Good morning! We don't always share about our efforts in giving back to the community. However, I wanted to take a moment to say how incredibly proud of my family I am! My beautiful daughter Aurelia Ruffin, @chuckruffinmusic and myself, are 2022 @handsonriverregion Volunteer of the Year Nominees! Charlie and I have always loved giving back to our communities. Fuzzy explanations.

For those of you who have been on the edge of your seat wondering how I broke the news of our dearly departed hamster, Fuzzy, to the Fodlets, here’s how I averted crisis for at least a few more months.

I started to get antsy staring at the hamster cage in the corner of the room, now empty, even though nobody has even noticed the absence of poor Fuzzy for the past FOUR DAYS. Not a single eye has even been batted in that direction, but I knew if I broke the news of Fuzzy’s untimely departure to Vinny, it would be an impressive display of water works. I thought for a few days about how I could flat out lie to my children in order to be able to move the unsightly hamster cage to the basement and once and for all move my couches without having to bask in the odor of damp hamster bedding. I waited until evening, when we were home relaxing and I knew if little hearts were broken that bedtime was quickly approaching and I wouldn’t have to listen to bawling for that long. I broke it to them gently. Fuzzy decided it was too cold and left to go on vacation. As expected, there were lots of questions. So many, in fact, that I had to create an entire email address and conversation with Fuzzy so that all of Vinny’s questions could be personally answered by her and she could send him photos of her relaxing on a beach with hamster friends. Pics or it didn’t happen, check them out. If you haven’t googled “hamsters on vacation”, I highly recommend it. As expected, Vinny asked me when he could be expecting her back and I guess I’ll just have to come back to the conversation when June hits and he realizes that she has not returned from her cold weather hiatus. Stay tuned, it’s probably going to be a bumpy ride.
