Drawing Bad AU
This was somehow inspired by the Scarlet Beetle and Ikati Black AU by @artzychic27, specifically with the idea of Nathaniel being the antagonist and Marc being his eventual sidekick. So here’s the basis of this crack/serious AU. It’s also based off of this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmnJGui7bDs&ab_channel=Patrick%28H%29Willems
Nathaniel Kurtzberg is a mild-mannered artist making his way through the first year of high school at DuPont. His life takes a turn for the worst when he is diagnosed with lung cancer, right after being rejected by his longtime crush, Marinette Dupain-Cheng. He begins to look for a way to help pay for treatment. He gets invited to watch a raid from Kim and Ivan, his friends who work for the safety patrol at school. They’ve been investigating a candy smuggling unit, which apparently makes a lot of money. While watching them catch some kids selling unauthorized candy to classmates, he recognizes the one who gets away. It’s Marc, a writer from his old elementary school who hung out with Nathaniel before he moved. He follows Marc and gives him an ultimatum. Become his partner in selling candy, and he wouldn’t rat him out to the safety patrol. Marc reluctantly agrees, and the partnership forms. Marc knows how to sell the stuff, and Nathaniel knows how to improve the candy’s quality. They hangout in an abandoned RV, and create “Akuma”. It’s a butterfly shaped hard candy with enough sugar to get the customer addicted to the product. They use the codenames of “Monarch” and “Paon” in order to avoid getting caught. As their candy becomes spread throughout the school, they gain a reputation. This earns them the attention of Nino Lahiffe, the shifty captain of the debate club, who promises to keep them out of trouble as long as he gets a good cut of the money. There’s also Max Kante, a seemingly harmless and kind nerd, hiding a shrewd and calculating mind. He helps to ship out their candy to Parisians. They’ve also got enemies to worry about. Not only Kim, Ivan, and the other kids on the safety patrol, but also Alya Cesaire, a reporter for the school newspaper, hot on their trail and looking to uncover their identities. These candy dealing boyfriends have a lot of trouble to deal with.
It’ll be a miracle if they make it to sophomore year without getting caught and expelled. Nathaniel knows his reputation will be torched if people find out, but that’s just the price he’d be willing to get treatment. Even if it means... breaking bad.
Essentially
Nathaniel - Walter
Marc - Jesse
Marinette - Skyler (Kinda)
Sabrina - Walt Jr. (Nath’s sister in this)
Kim - Hank
Ivan - Gomez
Max - Gus
Kagami - Mike
Nino - Saul
Mylene and Alix - Badger and Skinny Pete
So yeah, this is a crack au treated seriously. Lemme know what you think. As always, @artzychic27 @msweebyness

Actor au: how do they feel about the kiss scenes and are they awkward
Adrien: … There were some moments back when Marinette and I were Ladybug and Chat Noir.
Marinette: Yeah, it was awkward as hell. And, don’t get me wrong, he’s a great kisser, but there were just zero sparks.
Adrien: Kagami called our kiss, “so-so.”
Marinette: Oh, and Luka? Awesome girl, but same as Adrien. No sparks. I-I just wasn’t feeling anything there.
Adrien: But, when we heard I’d be dating Luka and XY, and Mari would kiss Reshma in one scene, we were pretty happy.
Marinette: And no one get any ideas, it’s just a casual kiss to see if there’s anything there. I think Reshma’s supposed to end up with Kagami or Lacey. That’d be pretty cute, a goth and a prep or a crazy girl and a shy girl.
Jean: So… *Giggles* I’m kissing Austin T on screen, and uh… We’re both pretty excited!
Austin T: During the first show, back when we were background characters, I noticed Jean would always be giving me these bedroom eyes, and… *Chuckles* How could I say no?
Jean: Between takes, we’d sneak into the storage closet so no one would hear all the make out noises.
Kim: Don’t get me wrong, Ondine is amazing, gorgeous-
Ondine: Same for Kim, but when we were together… Long-story short, I’m a raging disaster lesbian.
Kim: And I’m proud of her for figuring it out.
Ondine: Enough of that, cuz I’m kissing a girl!
Kim: YEEEAAH! LESBIANS!
Nathaniel: I’m not sure Marc and I were ever going to kiss in the original show. W-we had all those moments, yet nothing.
Marc: Plus, we were at our fake heights, so we could kiss each other easily. Now I’m all six feet and need to either bend down or pick Nath up.
Nathaniel: When we’re off screen and want to kiss, I’ll put on my Monarch heels so I’m like two or three inches taller.
Marc: It took a lot of convincing the artists to make it so I won’t have on heels as Prince Paon because the last thing I need is to be seven feet. *Mutters* Stupid long legs.
Nathaniel: This is what you get for drinking milk.
Marc: Hey! I like milk.
Juleka/Rose: *Casually making out*
Ivan/Myléne: *Casually making out*
Juleka/Ivan: *Reach over and fist bump each other*
Ismael: I’m sure you already know Alix, Lila, and I aren’t ending up with anyone.
Lila: And I’m totally fine with that.
Alix: Exactly! We don’t need to be in relationships to have fun. In fact, Ismael and I are showing Lila how to skateboard later.
Lila: And I’m nervous as hell.
Ismael: Hey, hey, trust us. We got you.
Lila: I’m not sure I can trust one of the cast gremlins.
Cosette/Zoé: *Casually making out*
Director: Observe the lesbian and bisexual making out after reading the synopsis for the New York Special.
Nino: Hey, it’s no different than when we were dating on the original show.
Alya: Except now this guy can’t keep his hands off my hair.
Nino: Because it’s so long and pretty now!

Broken
So @terrible-miraculous-ladybug-aus posted this, and I may have gotten a little too into the idea, so here have some chlonath~
So imagine, the gang got the peacock miraculous back from Papillon and one day during battle, for ~reasons~ Chloé was the one who had to elect a new miraculous holder to help them. They didn't know the peacock was damaged at the time, and her gut or magic or whatever led her to give it to Nathaniel.
So she knows Nathaniel is Paon while no one else does (and like canon, everyone knows who she is). After the battle she went to get it back and he had a slight cough. They both just brushed it off as him coming down with a cold or something.
She continues to give it to him every once in a while to help them in battle, and after maybe the fifth or sixth time, when she's taking it back from him, she realizes that it's making him cough like that, and it's getting worse. She decides not to give it to him (or anyone) after that.
One day there's one particularly harsh battle. They all take a pretty hard beating, and barely come out on top. The next day while walking out of school, Nathaniel asks her why she didn't ask for his help.
She looks at him like he's crazy. "It's making you sick, you idiot."
He shrugs. "I don't mind a little coughing if it keeps Papillon from defeating you."
She steps in front of him, stopping him dead in his tracks, and points a finger to his chest. "Listen up, Kurtzberg. We fight to protect Paris and that includes you. So, no, I am not going to ask for your help if it means endangering you." She walks away without another word, and Nathaniel wonders why his cheeks feel warm.
It's a few weeks later when another battle has them at the end of their rope. Nathaniel happens to be close by. He watches as Queen Bee gets knocked aside and runs up to help her get back up.
"Let me help you."
"No, get out of here," she grunts as she struggles to stand. They turn when they hear Rena and Carapace scream in the distance. They both go down and Ladybug and Chat Noir run after the akuma. Queen Bee looks back at Nathaniel. She can’t endanger him again. He looks at her. She has to endanger him again.
"Let me get on your back," she eventually says.
She has him take her to Master Fu's and gives him the Peacock miraculous again. After the fight, he can hardly speak with how hard he's coughing. She makes sure he gets back home and to his bed.
He's barely awake, but he can feel her weight on the edge of the bed and the cool touch of her fingers brushing back the hair on his forehead. "Thank you," he hears her whisper as he fades from consciousness. "I'm sorry."
Weeks go by without further incident. She's determined to make sure they never need his help again and she fights accordingly. He can tell when he watches the news coverage; he can see her giving every fight 110% to protect him.
He feels bad that he can't help. He also starts to feel a great warmth in his chest every time he sees her.
It's been at least a month, maybe two, when Papillon pulls something crazy and suddenly the heroes are hurting again. His eyes are glued to the news coverage on his phone. He sees it when Ladybug goes missing and comes back with Rena and Carapace. He sees it when Chat Noir goes missing and brings back Queen Bee. They're still not strong enough.
Queen Bee doesn't leave the battle. He watches her get knocked about and screams in his head for her to come ask him for help.
Finally, he can't take it anymore.
Nathaniel runs to Master Fu, who looks at him with heavy warning in his eyes and asks if he's sure. He's never felt more sure about anything.
"What are you doing here!?" Queen Bee screams when she sees him. He scoops her up in his arms and leaps away just in time to avoid the akuma's attack.
"Helping you."
"You can't! I don't want your help! Get out—!"
"Chloé." He looks her dead in the eye and she hates his clear resolve. "I'm not going to sit by and watch you get hurt."
She also hates how much she appreciates him.
She doesn't say anything more about it until the battle is over. When she gets him back home again and he detransforms, he immediately collapses. She gets him to his bed and snatches up the miraculous.
"What were you thinking!?" She wants to sound angry, aggressive, biting. She wants him to regret his actions.
After a coughing fit though, he just looks up at her with weary eyes and states, "You were hurt."
She clenches her jaw and swallows down a lump in her throat. She tries to sound as threatening and menacing as possible as she leans over him and says, "Never do that again," but the tears she's holding back are emerging in her voice and they both know it. "Promise me."
He smiles softly, sadly. But he does not promise.
She doesn’t say anything more. She just sits at the edge of his bed and combs her fingers through his hair until he falls asleep.
The next time it happens, seven weeks and three days have gone by. Chloé knows it’s been seven weeks and three days because no matter how hard she tries, she can’t silence the voice in the back of her head that counts every day he continues to cough.
They’re in dire need again, and they’re just thinking that maybe it’s time to name a new hero to help when he shows up.
“Are you crazy!?” she screams as he runs up and intercepts a projectile headed straight for her.
“Yell at me later, Bee,” he says, and she silently promises she will.
The battle is tough, even with all the extra help. The akumas are getting stronger, or maybe Papillon is getting smarter. Either way, she worries that this will happen again, and sooner than she’d like.
Ladybug’s cure is still making its way through the city when Queen Bee grabs Paon’s arm and drags him away.
“Do you have a death wish!?” she hisses as she pushes him around a corner. He doesn’t answer. He hardly seems to have even heard her. His attention is on something on her head. “What?”
Queen Bee stiffens as his gloved hand settles over her cheek, thumb swiping just under her eye. It almost stings before a flash of magic washes over her and a look of relief washes over him.
“Don’t be stupid,” she says, taking his hand and pulling it away from her face. “Any injuries we get in battle heal. You know that.”
His eyes finally find hers then and she hates how much pain hides behind that steeled look. “That doesn’t make it any easier to watch.”
She wants to think he means watching everyone get hurt. She knows he means her.
“You shouldn’t have come,” she finally says, voice much quieter. He opens his mouth to argue, but she continues before he can. “Don’t think I don’t hear you coughing in class. I know you still haven’t fully recovered from last time. It’s been two months and the effects still linger. I don’t know what will happen if this continues but quite honestly, I don’t want to find out.”
He says nothing and she knows it’s because he would do it again anyway.
His lack of self-preservation will be the end of her.
His miraculous beeps rapidly then; a final warning. She peeks around the corner to see that the others have already disappeared. “You’re safe,” she says, and in a wave of crackling blue electricity, Nathaniel appears before her. She’s ready to catch him this time.
Nathaniel is unconscious in her arms as Queen Bee leaps from rooftop to rooftop. She thinks he’s still asleep when she sets him down on his bed.
“Stay,” she hears as she’s about to climb out the window. His voice is weak and if it weren’t such a quiet night in the city, she thinks she wouldn’t have heard it. She considers pretending she didn’t.
But she makes the mistake of looking at him.
Chloé sits at his side and combs her fingers through his hair until long after he falls asleep.
He’s not in school for the rest of the week.
The next time they need help is only a few weeks later. Queen Bee goes straight to Master Fu’s, determined to give Sabrina the mouse miraculous. Nathaniel beats her there.
“Get out of here!” she shouts as she stomps forward, holding up a pointer finger threateningly. Le Paon takes her hand and lowers it to his chest.
“I’m already transformed,” he says before she can continue. “Yell at me later.”
“That’s what you said last time! I can’t yell at you when you’re feverish and coughing!”
He squeezes her hand with a soft smile before letting go. “Come on, Bee. We have a city to save.”
That night, as she brushes back his hair, she whispers, “I’m going to name a new miraculous holder.”
She can’t tell what kind of expression he’s making. He just looks tired.
“You are never going to use the peacock miraculous again, do you understand?” He tries to respond, but a coughing fit takes him instead. She helps him sit up and drink some water before laying him back down. His coughing subsides, but she hates how labored his breathing is. “I promise we’ll call in extra help if we need it,” she continues. “So please—,” she makes sure he’s looking at her again, “—don’t do this to yourself again.”
He doesn’t say anything. She knows it’s because he doesn’t want to promise that. She moves her hand to gently caress his cheek and corrects herself. “Don’t do this to me again.”
At that, his expression softens with a tiny sigh, but he still says nothing. Her fingers find a gentle rhythm combing through the hair at the base of his neck and silence settles over them. Chloé resigns herself to staying until he’s long asleep and watching helplessly when this happens again.
She’s surprised when his voice emerges in a quiet whisper.
“I think I’m falling in love with you.”
Her movements pause for only a moment. The words stir up a warmth in her chest, even if she had already known them to be true. It brings a soft smile to her lips.
“Then stay alive for me,” she whispers back. “Stay alive so I can fall in love with you too.”
Nathaniel’s eyes fall shut and his chest sinks with a long breath out and she knows that she’s already falling in love with him too when she sees his smile.
“Yes, my queen.”
“You promise?”
“I promise.”

Chapter 4: Shattered Mirrors
Waking up can be hard.
(ao3 link)
This time, it was the feeling of falling that jolted Nathanael awake. The fleeting ghost of memories and dreams bled into nothingness, fading away and fast forgotten. His body was stiff and aching, and his eyes opened wide in panic. Sitting up, he quickly recognized the familiar space of his room even in the darkness. Nearby on his desk, his computer screen cast a cold, blue light. Everything was alien and monsters linger in the shadows.
Nathanael grabbed at his sheets beneath him, quickly aware of an emptiness. It was too quiet.
Something was wrong. Something was missing.
Cold sweat broke across his forehead. Frantically, he patted himself down, searching his pockets. Everything was wrong. He didn't remember getting home or falling asleep and he was wearing his clothes from the day before. His pants feel constricting and his belt digs uncomfortably into his skin.
His hands shook as he opened up his wrinkled jacket, checking for any signs of green or blue. Under his skin, he could feel the flutter of wings, the itch of clicking insects. His skin crawled.
He groaned slightly as each movement pulled uncomfortably at his muscles. But it was not just his body that was sore; his mind was clouded, not helping his confusion. The beat in his temple swelled and an echo of anger passed through him. His head pounded as he began to remember what happened.
Hawk Moth.
He paused. And the memories slowly came back to him. He reached a hand up to his face and flinched at the sting of pain on his cheek.
“You feel too much, boy”
He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, remembering the fight, his failure, and the butterflies.
Hawk Moth was right… he did feel too much. And in that moment all he could feel was rage.
It burned. His breath sped up, matching his hurried heartbeat. Each frantic huff of air felt like fire in his throat. It tasted bitter.
Leaning forward, Nathanael rested his forehead against his knees, trying hard to ease his beating heart, but the more he tried, the more his body resisted.
“You must be in control.”
He wasn’t.
He was never in control to begin with…
His chest heaved as he gasped repeatedly, trying to catch his breath. It was to no avail, however, as the action only seems to stoke the flames setting his blood to boil.
It wasn’t until he brought his hands up to his face, that he realized he was crying. He smashed his open palms at his eyes, trying in vain to dam the flow of tears as large sobs wracked through his body. Shame, fright, and bitterness bled through him, but above all else, was his anger.
Still above it all, above the turmoil of his mind, Nathanael could also feel sadness. And he knew it wasn’t his.
When he finally looked up, he saw sparkles in the evening light.
Duusu.
A small bundle of blue lay beside him at the foot of the bed. She was shaking, wrapped around the Miraculous, holding it close to her chest.
He grabbed his hair, pulling it away from his face. Rogue tears streamed down his face that he had no control over.
“Duusu,” he whispered.
She shook harder. Her eyes squeezed shut, the pink glow on her forehead almost unnoticeable, just a small dot. And with a weak shake of her head, she wrapped herself tighter around the pin. Her tail feathers blended into its pattern.
He gasped; a flood of melancholy drowned him. Regret, sorrow, pain. He felt it all.
“Duusu,” he repeated, his voice harsher. “Stop it.”
She whimpered.
The sound stabbed him in the gut.
“Stop,” he tried again.
He leaned forward, a hand reaching towards her before he stopped. He stared at the shimmering tears floating through the air. Instead he wiped his own tears from his face, feeling the bruise on his cheek.
“You must be in control.”
He tried to breath deeply, to calm himself. It didn’t work.
“I—I don’t want this,” he said quietly, his hands tangled into his hair once more as he rested his elbows on his drawn up knees. “Just make it stop…”
Pink eyes stared at him.
He looked at the Miraculous to which she so desperately clung to. He wanted nothing more than to pick it up and throw it out the window, to smash it to pieces…
But he couldn’t.
He wasn’t strong enough.
He needed those earrings. He needed the ring.
To do that he needed to be stronger, Hawk Moth had made it clear it was his weakness. He needed to be in control, to wield the power he was cursed with.
Another wave of sadness grabbed him, sucking the air from his lungs.
“Duusu, please… if you could just stop,” he said, “I just need… I need—“
He needed quiet.
He needed peace.
He didn’t want this.
His own anger flared once more, trying to overpower Duusu’s sadness.
Tired and sore, he fell backwards, lying down in defeat. He absently grabbed for his phone beside him, checking how long he had to try to sleep until he would have to get ready for school.
He would end this, he told himself over and over as he closed his eyes to another restless sleep. First he would get that comb, then the earrings, the ring…
The vision of a black butterfly flying towards him filled his mind and his hands clenched into fists.
He would get that pin.

Chlonath Week Day 7: AU - Role Swap!
Exactly what it means, Chloe and Nathanael swap places, she’s the shy artist and he’s the rich brat who redeems himself. But Oh not, it doesn’t end there. Everyone swaps roles. Adrien is Ladybug, Marinette is Chat Noir, Marinette was Nathanael’s childhood friend, Nino and Alya swap pretty much! I could go on.
I’m sorry these drawings aren’t the best, something came up so I was rushing, I want to flush out their designs in a later date, but meanwhile, enjoy the final day of Nathchlo week! Thank you all for enjoying this collab between @krzed and I!

Do you know any fics that are just Nath-centric that isn't NathMarc? It's not that I don't like NathMarc, It's just that there is just so many NathMarc fics
Honestly man, I just went through the Nathaniel tag after filtering out Love Square (Cause he's almost always a background character) and Nathmarc
On a further note, I suggest just going through different relationship tags that have Nathaniel in them (Lukanath, Nathanette, Adrinath, Alix + Nath friendship, etc)
Here's some things that look like they're Nath centered without having Nathmarc
Sunshine Observations by SparklingMama (Alix and Nath friendship, background Chlonath)
Startle by SparklingMama (Lukanath)
Tearing through the Pages and the Ink by musiclver1112 (Chlonath)
Angel with a shotgun by Jade_Pearl (No important ships/friendships)
My Own Ghost is Haunting Me by Bisexual_Fangirl_Forever (No important ships/friendships)
Miraculous Ladybug: Tales of Paon Blue by DSpaceX (Nathanette)
The Missing Elevator Scene by Username8746489 (Adrinath)

Thots on Gabriel Agreste
Is this the correct beginning ???
Too many questions already
Awe look at Adrien taking care of his stepmom dad's assistant
WAIT are Marc and Nath going to get their miraculous this episode ???
Ugh I missed my gay boys so much
The analogy that Adrien is a damsel in distress is absolutely iconic
No but Adrien in a dress
SABRINA
Alice queen [re: I meant Zoe I don’t know why I wrote Alice]
Chloe what !!!! Why does she care
They really said "we're gonna force the adrichloe content again so y'all stop shipping her with Sabrina", huh
WHAT just happened
Whoever did the English subs needs to check their pronouns (but like as a French speaker that's a VIBE like hell if I know who this is referring to, just match the pronoun to the gender of the noun forget the subject)
Ngl I kinda love the Zoe pretending to be as bad as Chloe trope
Marino 2: electric boogaloo
She really got away with that huh
Feck
Wtf is this party Gabe
Oh Chloe you genius
Felix absolutely just gave Gabe the fake how does he not even suspect that
Ok ok ok that makes more sense
OH I hate it
But also genius
Oof being left alone with your ex
They're BOTH idiots it's animaestro all over again
Ok so does Gabe have Amelie's ???
Ok I hate Felix but he's also the only one with brain cells he literally saw the paon broach and went "oh" even though PLAGG literally ignored it when he broke into the safe
They really said 'Felix is a sentimonster AND FELIX KNOWS' and I think that’s really sexy of them
Gabe you literally just revealed yourself because he didn't tell you where he saw the broach
Ok ok ok I KNOW I know that "il ne m'arrive pas à la cheville" being translated as "he doesn't come close to my ankle" is just an idiomatic issue, but it has THOROUGHLY undone me [it means “he doesn’t measure up to me” if you were curious]
FELIX
genius
He cut the pants as a marker
This evil genius what a funky little dude I love him
But why are his cuff links so sharp ??
This got so chaotic so quickly
DOES KAGAMI KNOW
CHAT NOIR TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE !!
Tumblr media
Ugh I wish this was a two-parter there was so much potential that they passed up !!!

Le Paon Part 2
(oof~ this is a day late I’m sorry guys. Here ya go.)
Part 1 / Part 3
Felix glared down at the lump of blankets in front of him, unimpressed.
“Adrien.” He said sharply, picking up a pillow and smacking the pile of blankets with it. “Get up.”
The pile shifted, and Adrein’s head popped out, mumbling incoherent sentences- something about Ladybug and.. hamsters? He had the weirdest dreams.
Felix huffed and grabbed the edge of the blanket. “This whole school thing-” He ripped off the covers “-was your idea. Get up!”
Adrien shivered towards the sudden loss of warmth.
“Fe~ five more minutes~” His little brother whined, lazily grabbing at the air.
Felix scoffed. It’s already been four days since they started school. He should be used to the sleep schedule by now!
Throwing the blankets aside, He scowled and climbed onto the bed. Adrien barely even had time to look at him before Felix shoved him off the bed.
Adrien yelped, flopping onto the ground.
“Get. Up.” Felix hissed.
“Fe..” Adrien began, voice muffled from landing face first on the floor. “You haven’t had your coffee yet, have you?”
“And what if I haven’t!”
Adrien grunted as he pushed himself off the floor. “Yeah, I figured. I’m gonna go get ready.”
“About time.” Felix rolled his eyes.
The blonde chuckled, patting him on the shoulder. “You go get yourself some coffee so I can make it through your grumpy mornings.”
He narrowed his eyes, though he didn’t argue, simply spinning on his heel and stalking out the door. His caffeine addiction was itching at him anyway, and he could already smell the delectable aroma of freshly brewed coffee grounds.
Felix reached the bottom of the stairs, sparing a glance to his father’s office. Nathalie stood guard in front of the door, still as a statue. They’d chalked it up to waiting for them in the morning, but Felix knew better. He used to be able to enter Gabriel’s office whenever he wished, until he saw that hole the other day. Suddenly, his Father was “too busy” or “working on a special project that was top secret”.
They were hiding something, and he was determined to find out what that something was.
For now, though, coffee.
-
Steam clouded the air as the dark liquid spilled over into the silver thermos. Felix twisted on the cap, ensuring it would stay piping hot, and set the glass pitcher back into the coffee maker. This particular brand was a special cinnamon mix he’d decided to try.
“I’m ready!” Adrien announced from the doorway. He wore his usual, black t-shirt along with his white, near-short-sleeved jacket and jeans. His wavy, golden hair swept to the side and his smile could probably light up a Christmas tree.
Felix squinted, mockingly holding up his hand as though he were trying to shield his eyes from the sun’s light. “How do you do that?”
He hadn’t even woken up till five minutes ago! How did he look so energized?
“Don’t know whatcha mean, Fe.” The model replied innocently.
Felix rolled his eyes, noting the energy drink Adrien pushed further into his bag. How he got it, Felix doesn’t know, considering their forbidden around the house, but there’s no point in calling him out on the matter. Adrien needs to learn to defy some of their Father’s rules, to be honest. There are far too many of them to be reasonable.
Nathalie cleared her throat from the other room, a quiet sign it was time to leave.
The boys grabbed the rest of their things, Felix making sure to put his extra thermos in his bag, and headed for the door.
“You got your other thermos?” Adrien asked, mirth reflecting in his bottle green eyes.
Felix nodded, proudly opening his bag to reveal the second thermos.
Adrien snorted. “You’re so paranoid. Isn’t that heavy or something?”
He shrugged in response and took a sip of his coffee, sighing in pleasure towards the warm, cinnamon taste.
“You never know. Best to be prepared.” Felix stated simply.
“Right, right. Well, when you don’t end up using the thermos, I get ten bucks for calling it.”
Felix smirked. “I’ll take that bet.”
~~~~~~
I’m late, I’m late, I’m sO LATE! Marinette panicked, racing down the sidewalk towards the school. How did she manage to sleep through her three alarm clocks?!
She rushed up the front steps of the school. The halls were obviously empty since class started five minutes ago. They were probably waiting for her, waiting to make fun of her for being late again. It only made things more embarrassing that everyone was most definitely in class all ready.
Well, everyone, except for a certain Felix Agreste, apparently.
Neither had time to register the other’s presence, as Marinette slammed right into his back. Clangs and Thumps echoed through the hallway as their things spilled onto the floor.
“I-I’m so sorry!” She apologized, immediately kneeling down to pick up their stuff. The books had scattered across the floor, along with an odd, brownish liquid.
Marinette squinted, following the trail of the mysterious substance to a silver thermos. It took a full minute to register what it was.
Then she completely paled.
Oh gosh. Oh gosh his coffee. She’d made Felix Agreste drop his coffee. What was she gonna do? No doubt he’d march right up to the principal’s office and demand she be expelled for her ignorance. What would she tell her parents? Which school she be transferred to? Would she still be able to make friends their? Maybe Alya could visit her on weekends?
A stifled chuckling came to her ears, and she blinked.
Carefully glancing up, She saw Felix brushing off his black vest and dark grey, button-up shirt while laughing.
“Thanks. You just got me ten dollars.” He said, a faint smirk on his lips.
Marinette blinked again. Did he just.. Thank her? With a smile, no less??
Felix knelt down next to her, his pale blonde hair falling over her eyes slightly as he helped her gather the books on the floor. Once he was finished with that, he proceeded to pull another thermos out of his leather backpack. He even pulled out napkins!
“How..?”
 “I live with Adrien. He’s a lot more chaotic than you think.” He glanced up at her, a mischievous glint in his cool, blue eyes. “You never know when something like this might happen.”
Marinette felt there was a hidden meaning behind those words.
“W-well, that’s good..I guess.” She replied dumbly. He was being so.. Nice?? I mean, He’d never been mean to her before. You know, in the four days he’s attended their school, but she’s seen the way he acts around other people, specifically Chloe Bourgeois. Marinette never wanted to be on the end of his bone chilling glares.
The two stood, Marinette shoving her books back into her bag while Felix placed his now-empty thermos in his.
“I need to go to class. Try to watch where you're going next time.” He advised, probably sounding more rude than he intended.
Marinette smile sheepishly and nodded, watching as he walked away. She shook her head, still in disbelief towards his gentle demeanor. They haven’t really talked all that much yet, but maybe they should.
She ran her hand over her phone, making sure there weren’t any cracks from it hitting the floor.
Then she saw the time and gasped.
“Ah! Now I’m even more late!”
~~~~~~
Felix almost whistled as he walked into his classroom and sat in his designated seat. That ten dollars was all too easy to achieve. Marinette had been delightfully predictable in her tardiness, and, as he expected, didn’t even see him coming when he stepped out in front of her. He imagined Adrien would grumbled about it when he overheard Marinette tell Alya of the collision in class.
Her panicked, bluebell eyes and jumbling words came to mind, and he smiled. Even if he hadn’t done it on purpose, Felix wouldn’t have found it in himself to be upset. She was too cute when she got nervous.
Out of the corner of his eye, a brunette-haired boy peeked over the back of his seat, tentatively searching his desk. When his gaze landed on Felix’s cup, the boy sighed in relief and straightened.
“We’re clear! He’s got his coffee!” The brunette grinned, sliding into the seat next to him.
Felix rolled his eyes, but a girl in the class giggled.
“You really think lack of coffee is the only reason he’s bitter?” She teased as she approached them, her sky-blue eyes filled with mirth.
“Yeah,” A dark-skinned boy in the seat in front of Felix spoke up, “If I had to guess, I’d say his coffee is sweeter than he is, and Felix takes his coffee black.”
Claude, Allegra, and Allan. He’d met this trio on his first day in class, and they adopted him into their group on the spot, for whatever reason. Felix never actively hung out with them, but they did seem to drag him around a lot.
“Oh! Did you guys hear about the explosion in the art room the other day?” Claude said suddenly, getting that look in his chestnut brown eyes when he’s about to relay one of his pranks.
"Explosion?" Allan asked, shifting his green cap with interest and turning in his seat to face Claude. The brunette mostly talked with his hands, so you normally needed to see him when he told stories.
A devilish grin spread across Claude’s lips, and he shifted in his seat to prepare himself for the story.
“So! Alex wanted to make some glow-in-the-dark paint for this new graffiti thing. So she snuck in some chemicals from the lab-” He hunched over, mockingly shifting his eyes from left to right to look shady- “and started mixing them with the paint.” He rotated his finger in the air.
“Can’t you buy that at an art store?” Allegra cut in, absently trailing her fingers along her platinum blonde braid that hung over her left shoulder as she listened.
Claude waved his hand. “Nah, she says it’s too expensive. Anyway, She’s mixing em’ together, and Nathaniel’s all like, ‘Isn’t that dangerous?’, and she’s all, ‘don’t be a wuss, Nath, it’s fine.’ So she keeps going. Now, I’m already taking cover in the back, cause I know it’s not gonna end well.”
He holds up his hands as if he’s holding onto a canvas to hide behind it. “The stuff starts glowing- you could see it from there -and she’s like, ‘See, I told you it was fine’, but before she could even finish the sentence the entire thing just erupts and sprays paint everywhere!”
Claude flails his arms around for emphasis of the explosion.
“And they-” He pauses to laugh, trying to stifle it so he can continue. “And they just- they’re just standing there, looking down at the empty can of paint. Alex and Nathaniel are-”
He bursts out laughing, holding his hand over his mouth. Allegra and Allan start chuckling from how contagious the laughter is.
“They are covered in paint. Head to toe. I’m dying. Marc looks like he’s trying not to laugh and like he’s kind of disappointed cause it sprayed him too. And Nathaniel-” Claude snorts, shoulders shaking and fist banging on the desk from laughing so hard.
“He just- he just looks at Alex. And he says- he says, ‘yeah. You sure told me.’”
All three of them lose it. Even Felix is having trouble holding back a laugh. It was a good thing their class started at a different time today, else they all would have had detention.
“I didn’t know this school had an art room.” Felix commented, somehow being heard over the madness. Admittedly, he should have taken more initiative to tour the school grounds.
“Wait, really?” Allan was the first to speak, his chocolate brown eyes widening in surprise.
Felix shook his head, and Claude dramatically gasped in disbelief.
“Oh, heck no. As soon as school is over, you’re coming to the art room with me.” The brunette declared firmly.
The next thing he knew, Claude was eagerly leading Felix through the school halls.
True to his word, He’d grabbed Felix and rushed out of the classroom as soon as class was over. Even Allegra and Allan weren’t able to follow them, though Felix assumed they’d catch up later.
The brunette stopped in front of a muddy brown door, covered in flecks of paint with a tilted sign that read “Art Room”. He kicked open the door- not hard, but enough to create a dramatic entrance. From the looks the students inside gave him, Felix assumed Claude did that often.
“Welcome to the Art Club!” Claude announced, gesturing around the room.
There were various projects around the room, such as unfinished paintings, scraps of cloth, papers, books, extra materials, etc. Paint flecks littered everything in the room, creating a lingering scent of the settled pigment. It was probably the result of the explosion that Claude mentioned earlier.
Claude waltzed inside as if he owned the place. “And now, to introduce the crew!”
He pointed to a short girl with pink pigtails and black and green attire. “This is Alex! Her specialty is graffiti.”
Alex gave a half salute with two fingers as a greeting before going back to her project of Ladybug and Chat Noir.
“That’s Nathaniel. He draws comics.” Claude continued, pointing to a boy who’s red hair fell over his eyes.
Nathaniel timidly glanced up from the sketchbook he was hunched over, muttering a quick “Hello”.
“Next up, We have~ Marc! The man behind the dialogues of Nath’s comics!” The brunette introduced, flamboyantly bowing towards a black haired boy currently hiding in his red hoodie.
“And last, but certainly not least, Marinette Dupain-Cheng!”
Felix perked up, eyes darting to the corner Claude was gesturing towards.
Marinette rolled her eyes, a playful smile on her lips as she set her sketchbook aside.
“Hey guys! You’re joining the art room?” She asked, the excitement in her tone surprising him.
“I’m.. not sure. Claude was just showing me around.”
“Wait, wait.” Claude interrupted, brows furrowed in confusion. “You two know each other?”
“We’ve run into each other a few times.” Felix smirked at Marinette, causing her to giggle towards the inside joke. The delicate pink spreading across her cheeks gave him an odd sense of satisfaction.
Claude only stared, dumbfounded. Then he pulled a pout. “Hey, what gives? You don’t smile like that for us! In fact, you don’t smile at all!”
Felix’s smile immediately fell, and he rolled his eyes, attempting to ignore Marinette’s snort.
“Is that all? I’m leaving otherwise.”
“Oh wait! You haven’t seen my stuff yet!” Claude said hurriedly and ran to another corner of the room covered in various canvases.
“And now, the moment you’ve been waiting for!” He began, holding an imaginary microphone to his mouth.
Marinette smiled fondly and sat down in a chair, pretending to be the audience. Felix noticed the rest of the club members were doing the same.
Claude made a small drum roll with his hands, and the others joined in shortly. Once he was confident they would keep the drum roll going, he stepped back towards one of the canvases.
“Ta-da!” He spun around the easel, a bright grin on his lips. A black stick figure was painted onto the white canvas, along with a yellow house with a red roof and a green tree. It almost looked like.. It was finger painted by a toddler.
Nevertheless, Marinette and the others laughed and cheered and clapped for him. Felix couldn’t help the feeling of.. relief. The painting was obviously less than impressive, but they gave him encouragement and praise anyway. It was refreshing. The thought of getting complimented whether your work was good or bad seemed extremely contradictory to the life style he’d grown up in.
“So what do you say, Felix, you wanna paint with me?” Claude asked, bringing him from his thoughts.
Felix hummed, looking around the room again. So full of life. Creativity. Of acceptance.
“Not today.” Nathalie and Gorilla were already waiting for him. “But perhaps tomorrow.”
Marinette was known to have a great taste for things. if she enjoyed it here, he might as well give it a shot.
~~~~~~
Felix speed walked into the mansion, pushing Adrien in front of him.
“What’s up, Fe? Why are we rushing?” His brother asked as they neared the steps.
Felix looked over his shoulder at the doors he purposely left wide open.
“No time to explain.” He gave Adrien a final shove towards the stairs. “Go to your room. I’ll be up there in a minute.”
Adrien didn’t have any time to question. Felix spun on his heel and walked briskly into their father’s office. It took Nathalie and gorilla around five to ten minutes to park the car. That’s all the time he had right now to investigate the room.
Swiftly slipping into the office, Felix went straight for the hole he saw four days ago. It was closed up now, but the outline was still visible.
He knelt down and picked at the sides of the hole, hoping to force it open somehow. When that didn’t work, He searched the room for a stray switch. Under the desk, in the drawers, behind the curtains. Nothing. So he checked the computer for certain commands- the security system was linked to it, meaning it had access to all the openings in the house.
Still nothing.
Felix huffed, closing the tabs on the computer and turning to face his Mother’s abstract portrait. She looked so.. Happy. And warm. The exact opposite of their family as of late.
He moved towards the painting, a soft sigh escaping his lips as he ran his hand over the work of art. What would life be like if Father went missing instead? Not that he’d really want either of them to leave, but if he had a choice.. Felix was forced to believe that Emilie’s presence would be far more welcoming than Gabriel’s. What if neither of them left? Would they be a happy family? Just imagining-
Felix paused. He ran his hand over the painting again and knitted his eyebrows together. Are their supposed to be bumps in this painting?
Again, he ran his hand over the art piece. Yes, there were most certainly bumps- No, no, not just bumps.. Notches?
The door swung open, and Felix yanked his hand from the painting.
“Felix, you’re not supposed to be in here.” Nathalie said sharply from the doorway. Despite her posture being firm, He could see the way her fingers nervously trailed up and down her clipboard, or the way her feet shifted just a bit too much.
He met her eyes, composed, if not a bit panicked, though that could be one’s own imagination.
“Right. I was just looking for something.” He replied vaguely.
Neither broke eye contact as he left the room.
~~~~~~
Nathalie held her breath as Felix walked past her. Stay calm. No need to panic. Felix was only studying his mother’s painting, that’s all. No way he was trying to find the secret button to unlock everything she and Gabriel worked for. No. not at all. He was just a boy. He isn’t smart enough to figure them out without any completely obvious clues. Everything had been hidden quite well. They were fine.
These thoughts didn’t stop her from pacing as soon as she heard the door close. She needed to talk to Gabriel, but would he see her? She’s not supposed to interrupt him at these times..
Nathalie drew in a breath to calm herself. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
She stepped in the middle of the circle and pushed in the two buttons on Emilie’s painting. The platform beneath her clicked, before slowly descending into the floor and bringing her with it. The first few minutes were met with darkness, concrete on all sides. It passed a door to Gabriel’s secret lair where akumatized people. Then, the concrete merged into glass, revealing a large, abandoned park.
When the miniature elevator stopped, Nathalie started down the broad, metal pathway. Gabriel stood at the end of it, quietly watching the coffin of Emilie Agreste.
“I’m sorry to bother you, sir, but I have concerns.”
Gabriel didn’t respond at first. He didn’t turn to face her.
Then, “About?”
Nathalie pushed down her anxieties and continued, “Felix is getting suspicious. He’s started poking around your office, and he won’t listen to me. I think- well -I think it might be best if you talked to him.”
Her employer nodded absently, and she almost wondered if he even heard her.
“So Felix is ‘getting close’?” He finally asked.
She nodded. “Yes sir.”
Gabriel hummed. “Maybe that’s a good thing.”
Nathalie’s eyes widened. “But sir-”
“Felix is the next in line for the company. He will be taking over one day. If I can’t trust him with things like this, then his role as my heir would be concerning.”
“Besides,” He murmured, lightly touching the glass of the coffin, “We need all the help we can get.”
Nathalie resisted the urge to wretch. Help? From Felix? Absolutely not! They didn’t need help from a child.
“Of course sir.” She nearly growled, gripping her clipboard a bit too tight.
You know what? Fine. let that selfish, egotistical brat work with them. Then Gabriel will finally realize how incapable his son really is.
~~~~~~
Felix rolled onto his side, catching the time on the alarm clock. 2am. Everyone should be asleep by now. Perfect.
He looked over at Adrien, sleeping soundly next to him in their shared bed. Carefully, Felix pulled off his side of the blankets. If his plan was going to work, he needs to keep Adrien asleep. Thankfully, that kid was a heavy sleeper.
Once safely off the bed, Felix sneaked down the corridor, towards the stairs.
From what he could tell, the office was empty, no one guarding the door or residing inside. Felix flipped on the lights, looking around again just to be sure no one was watching him.
His breath caught in his throat when he found the notches on the painting again. What was he going to find? Would he even find anything?
He pushed the buttons.
A familiar click echoed in the room.
Felix nearly fell backwards when the circle he was standing on started to descend. It took him lower into the ground, surrounding him in concrete. Where was it taking him? How long had this secret entrance been here without him knowing? On that note, why would they keep it a secret?
He jumped through the first door he saw.
Butterflies, pure white as freshly fallen snow, illuminated a huge, dome-shaped room. There were millions of them. Why?
A butterfly landed on his shirt, and Felix narrowed his eyes.
Wait.
His heart stopped in his chest as he studied the creature. These butterflies had appeared on the television just a few days ago.
The same butterflies Hawkmoth had talked through.
Felix’s blood ran cold.
No wonder the voice was so familiar! His Father practically raised him through a screen! (If you can call that “raising”)
The butterflies, the voice, the secret door. It had to be him.
But why?
“I see you’ve passed the test.”
Felix whipped around, only to come face to face with Gabriel himself.
“You!” He spoke without thinking for once. “This is all you! You’re Hawkmoth! Why would-”
Felix paused, Gabriel’s comment finally catching up with him.
“What test?”
His father smiled- a bit unnerving since he normally doesn’t do such things.
“Follow me.”
Anticipation formed in the pit of stomach. He just found out his Father was a mass super villain. A super villain who wanted him to follow him down a strange, secret elevator.
Now, why would that be a bad idea?
Felix pushed away the obvious warning signs and did as he was told. He needed answers. If this was the only way to get them, so be it.
The two stepped onto the circular platform- a tad “comfy” considering it was only made for one person -and started downward.
Anxiety crawled up Felix’s chest when the concrete merged into glass. Another room, this time a large basement filled with an assortment of metals and plants.
Gabriel was the first to step off the platform, footsteps echoing through the secret garden.
Since when did we have a basement? He thought to himself, following his father down the broad, metal walkway. What else didn’t he know? How much was Gabriel keeping from him? From them? What would Adrien think of all of this?
“It’s true that I’m Hawkmoth.” Gabriel spoke up, regaining Felix’s attention. “But, despite what Paris believes, I’m not after power. It’s such a trivial thing, can be gone in an instant. No, I have a mission. A purpose.”
“And what ‘mission’ would compel you to terrorize innocent people.” Felix scoffed. It was out of turn, but he was tired. And frustrating. The boy simply didn’t have time for their usual game of “perfect picture child”.
Gabriel spared him a glance, one softer than Felix expected.
“There’s someone I need to save.”
Before Felix could question the comment, the man stepped aside, revealing a glass coffin.
Felix blinked, not believing his own eyes. It couldn’t be..
“Mom?”
Emelie Agreste was lying peacefully in the coffin, eyes closed, mouth smiling, and a delicate bouquet of flowers resting in her hands.
He choked out a gasp, reaching out a shaking hand to touch the glass. “How is- why is she- she’s here? What- what happened? Why?”
Gabriel sighed, staring down at his wife with a silent longing. It was still weird seeing him show any sort of emotion.
“She developed an illness, around two years ago. I did everything I could, took her to doctors, tried different concoctions of medicines, but in the end, she fell into a coma. I put her here, where she would be safe until I cure the disease.”
“How?” Felix found himself asking. He was becoming more invested in this than he should be. It was an illness, most likely terminal, and if it hadn’t been cured then, it’s not possible to cure it now.
..right?
“The miraculous of Ladybug and Chat Noir.” A certain excitement laced the man’s tone. “When brought together, they can grant one wish. Anything you desire. If I can just get those jewels..” He trailed off, letting Felix fill in the blanks.
The blonde tapped his fingers on the glass. It was definitely a mission, but was it worth it?
He looked down at his mother’s soft features. He remembered her sweet words and warm hugs, the way she tucked them in at night and played hide and seek.
And what wouldn’t a boy do for his mother?
“How can I help?”
Penknight is going to see his boyfriend, and he's not taking no for an answer.
Most stars exist in clusters, or at least binary pairs. Our sun is a rare single star. It is because of this life is able to exist in our solar system, but how lonely the sun must be.
Masterpost
Nathaniel wondered when the exact point his life got so weird was. The answer, probably, was sitting at his kitchen table next to his boyfriend and having a stare down with Ladybug. Ladybug! Sitting! At! His! Kitchen! Table! Not that the small area off to the side of his tiny apartment kitchen was that impressive to begin with. The table was cosy, just big enough for two people to be comfortable. There were only four chairs because they had come as a set with the table and Nathaniel had just never bothered getting rid of them, despite that being three chairs too many. His father was a busy CEO of a weapons development conglomerate and spent most of the year overseas on business, preferring to stay at a hotel rather than with his son when he was in Paris. Nathaniel’s mother had passed from cancer when he was ten, so he essentially lived alone. Up until last year he had lived in a slightly bigger apartment with a live-in nanny, but at sixteen his father had decided he was old enough to take care of himself and happily cut costs by firing the nanny and moving Nathaniel into his current one bedroom apartment.  Fully aware that this was not the most legal of situations, the red head fervently hoped Ladybug would be more concerned with the Sentimonster giving her attitude than reporting his dad to child protective services.
 Said Sentimonster, Penknight, had shown up on his fifth floor balcony and let himself in with a huff, Ladybug not far behind him. Penknight had promptly swept Marc, who blushed a little too much for Nathaniel’s jealousy, into his arms and kissed the top of his head. Ladybug was lecturing him on being out in public and returning to Paon’s side instead, which sounded like it had been going on for a while. Penknight pointedly ignored her until Nathaniel offered her refreshments in a pause in the ranting. Now the two were sitting at his table, untouched glasses of water beside them, battling with silent wills instead of words. Marc just looked bewildered at the entire thing. Nathaniel was honestly feeling the same.
 “Penknight.” Ladybug ground out after a time. “You cannot just wander about as you please. Especially after what that new Hawkmoth did. You’re a well known akuma, you’ll send people into a panic!” Which would give the Office of Akuma Affairs even more ammo in their growing anti-hero platform, she left unsaid. She didn’t need to. Both Marc and Nathaniel were intimately aware of the OAA’s propaganda, being frequent targets themselves.
 “This new Hawkmoth is EXACTLY why I should be here, and not hiding away with Paon!” Penknight slammed a fist on the table, causing the two other boys to jump. “You saw what she did! You think I’m going to leave Marc unprotected with a literal super powered murderer running about? What if she decides anyone with a connection to the old Hawkmoth needs to go?” Ladybug paled at that, and so did Nathaniel. Ladybug swallowed and composed herself.
 “All the more reason to be with Paon right now. She’s just lost her husband and is in no shape to defend herself. Both her and her son are in danger and as much as I hate to admit it, you are a tricky foe to defeat.”  Penknight wasn’t swayed an inch by her flattery.
“Paon and Adrien have that huge bodyguard who can use the Peacock if he needs to. Marc has nobody.” Thanks for your concern, Nathaniel thought dryly. “If you’re so worried about her, why are you here instead of there?” Penknight crossed his arms, leaning back in his chair.
 “Because SOMEONE has to keep an eye on you! You destroyed several city blocks last time you were left unattended!”
 “That was only after that fox bitch stole Marc from me, which as I hear it isn’t possible right now with her being on life support. That someone should cut.” He muttered the last part under his breath, but Ladybug heard it anyway.
 “See? That’s exactly what I’m talking about. I don’t need to wake up tomorrow to the headline of Lila Rossi being murdered in her sleep by a rampaging Aku-Sentimonster!” She corrected.
 “Why not.” Penknight grumbled sulkily.
 “BECAUSE MURDER IS WRONG!” Ladybug exploded. Marc shrank back at her outburst, and Penknight growled, actually growled at her.
 “Look um, L-Ladybug? Penknight can stay here if he wants. It’s not any trouble.” Nathaniel hesitantly offered in the tense silence that followed.
 “That’s not the issue here.” Ladybug dragged her hand over her face with a sigh. “The issue is Penknight is a loose cannon who only cares about his own agenda, and doesn’t stop to think about the people who might get hurt along the way. I’m also pretty sure he would follow Marc home before he stayed here, which would be awkward to explain to his parents…” The boy in question winced.
 “My parents are overseas on business right now. It’s my older sister we would have to worry about, and she barely tolerates Nath.” Blemir Anciel was eighteen going on thirty. Mature and serious for her age, she looked after her younger brother while their parents were away and their eldest sibling gone for college most of the year. Nathaniel cringed at the memory of her chasing him out of the house with a broom after she had walked in on him and Marc making out on his bed. From then on the red headed boy was allowed no farther than the living room, and the pair were strictly supervised the entire time. The only reason Marc was allowed anywhere near Nathaniel’s apartment was because they hadn’t told her he lived alone.
 “I’m not scared of your sister.” Penknight said, stroking Marc’s hair fondly. “It would take more than a broom to chase me off.” Wait a second.
“How do you even know about that?” Nathaniel asked, “That happened after Hawkmoth was defeated, and you didn’t come from me this time...how would you have my memories?” Penknight rolled his eyes.
 “Magic, dummy.”
 “Back on topic,” Ladybug interjected, “You can’t stay here. You need to come back to the Agreste mansion with me.”
 “No.”
 “That wasn’t a request.”
 “That wasn’t a negotiation.”
 “This isn’t- Ugh!” Ladybug exclaimed, standing up and pacing the small area. “I do not have the manpower to assign you a babysitter right now!”
 “Then don’t. I’m a big boy. This is only an issue because you’re making it one.”  Penknight shot back.
 “Except when you stab an OAA member for harassing Marc, it does become my problem.”
 “Maybe you should just let me stab them. Can’t be a problem if they’re all dead.” Ladybug looked like she was going to strangle him for that comment.
 “Um, Penknight?” Marc laid a hand on his arm. “Maybe you should go with Ladybug? Just for now? She might trust you more if you comply…” Penknight hesitated, and Ladybug looked like a lightbulb went off in her head.
 “That’s it, Marc! You have his Amokatized object right? You can control him! Please tell him to stop being stubborn and come with me.” Penknight looked stricken, and Marc flinched.
 “I can’t- I won’t order him around like that! That would be like taking away his free will!” Ladybug rocked back like the words had physical force. She was silent for a moment before replying.
 “You’re not taking away his free will. Just...making him do something he doesn’t want to? Ugh, it doesn’t sound any better when I say it like that.” She rubbed her forehead. “Penknight, sometimes we have to do things we don’t want because they’re the right thing to do.”
 “The ‘right thing to do’ for me is different from the right thing for you, Ladybug.” Penknight said firmly. “The right thing for me to do is to stay with the person I was literally brought into being to protect.” Marc blushed slightly at that while Ladybug looked thoughtful. Nathaniel just had a sinking feeling in his stomach. Penknight looked so cool when he said that, how was Nathaniel supposed to compare?
 “Listen. My place is here, and yours is with your boyfriend. I know you’re trying to be responsible Marinette but I don’t need looking after.” Nathaniel opened his mouth to tell Penknight exactly what he thought of the other man implying that Marc was his boyfriend, roundabout as it was, when the last part of that sentence caught up with him.
 “MARINETTE?!” He and Marc exclaimed at the same time.
 “Penknight!” She cried out.
 “What? Chloe can know but they can’t?” The knight huffed.
 “Chloe is a miraculous holder!” Ladybug (Marinette?!) exclaimed.
 “So was Marc, for a little bit. By your own rules you can’t even let Chloe have her miraculous again because everyone knows who she is. Hell, that goes for pretty much your entire team. If who knows what Gabriel told the new Hawkmoth before...you know.” He mimed drawing a line over his neck. Ladybug looked stricken, and then pensive.
 “Gabriel is….was...a strong willed man. He wouldn’t have helped her. We are worried though…” Ladybug sighed and sat back down at the table. “I guess you should know since it looks like you’re getting wrapped up in this. We suspect Lila stole the butterfly miraculous before her accident.”
 “What, how?” Marc asked, getting over his shock just a hair sooner than Nathaniel at learning that Marinette was Ladybug. Which honestly made sense now that he thought about it. Marinette was sweet, and kind, and amazing and- oh. Maybe he shouldn’t let his thoughts wander like that when important exposition was being dumped.
 “She came to my room when I wasn’t there the day of the accident. The next day I noticed the butterfly was missing from the miracle box. We of course searched her belongings extensively after, but we could never find it. Now a new, female Hawkmoth with a personal grudge against me shows up? That can’t be coincidence. Not with the Miraculous involved.” Ladybug just looked...tired.
 “If it is Lila, that’s even more reason for me to stay with Marc. She hates him maybe more than she hates you.” Penknight pointed out. Ladybug folded her hands in front of her.
 “Except Lila is currently in a coma in an intensive care ward, monitored around the clock by staff, security, and cameras. If it is her, we have no idea how she’s doing this.”
 “Could she have akumatized someone and used their power to make a body double?” Marc asked.
 “She might have, but I’ve cast the miraculous cure more than once since she’s been in her coma. That would have revealed any trickery for sure by now.” Ladybug looked pensive. “There’s just too many unknown variables…and my entire team is compromised. That wasn’t a problem with Hawkmoth gone, but now that the threat has resumed...maybe I need to build a new team. If this new person is being influenced by Lila in any way, I can’t let you have the goat miraculous again, Marc but…” She trailed off looking thoughtful.
 “What about you, Nathaniel? Think you have what it takes to be a miraculous holder?” Nathaniel felt his mental processes grind to a halt.
 “Me?!” He exclaimed. Ladybug laughed slightly at his outburst.
 “Don’t say yes or no right now, but please think about it. It would make me feel better if there was a miraculous holder keeping an eye on Penknight, and seeing as you’re the person who will probably be around him most besides Marc, you’re a good bet.”
 “No he’s not. He’ll fuck it up and probably lose the thing within a week.” Penknight sneered. Nathaniel wilted into his chair. The Sentimonster was right, he always screwed up when it really counted. Marc wasn’t having any of that though. He stood from his chair and walked around the table to put his hands on Nathaniel’s shoulders, pointedly glaring at Penknight.
 “Nathaniel would make a fantastic hero.” Marc said firmly, leaving no room for argument. Penknight looked like he swallowed a lemon, not wanting to argue with Marc but also clearly not accepting that statement.
“Wielding a miraculous is definitely a learning curve.” Ladybug admitted. “But if the clumsiest, most awkward mess up in class can do it I think Nathaniel will be fine.” She said with a slight chuckle.
 “You’re not awkward!” Nathaniel said, realizing she was talking about herself.
 “You’re awkward.” Marc mumbled, bapping him on the head slightly for how fast he was to come to her defense. Ok so maybe that crush on Marinette wasn’t one hundred percent gone. Maybe Marc knew. Maybe Marc was the most wonderful and understanding person in the world for putting up with him anyway. At the end of the day, Nathaniel was loyal to his boyfriend and some silly grade school crush was not getting in the way of that. Some silly sentimonster that looked a little too pleased when Nathaniel got lightly scolded might though.
 “Sure, my nickname is “clumsynette” because of the irony factor that I’m actually very graceful.” Ladybug continued like he hadn’t just made a fool of himself. She got to her feet with a sigh. “Fine. You’ve convinced me. Penknight can stay for now, but if I hear even a hint of him making trouble I’m going to ask you to give me his amokitized object so I can give it to Paon.”
 “What, you’re not just going to break it and purify me?” Ladybug looked really sad for a moment, as if recalling an unpleasant memory.
 “I would never do that if I had a choice. Most Sentimonsters are just rouge collections of feelings and desire, with no real intelligent thought. Ones like you and...well, ones like you are alive Penknight. The way I see it, removing your amok is the same as murder.” Ladybug walked to the balcony door. “I will be checking in on you guys for an update tomorrow at the latest. Try to stay out of trouble.” And then with a toss of her yoyo, she was gone. The three remaining occupants of the tiny apartment exchanged glances. Marc sighed and wrapped his arms around Nathaniel’s shoulders, resting his chin on the top of the seated boy’s head.
 “My sister is not going to be pleased about this.”
More fancy villains au please?
Metamorphosis: Perpare for trouble!
Prince Paon: And make it double!
Metamorphosis: To protect the world from devastation!
Prince Paon: To unite all peoples within our nation!
Metamorphosis: To renounce the evils of truth and love!
Prince Paon: To extend our reach to the stars above!
Metamorphosis: Metamorphosis!
Prince Paon: Prince Paon!
Metamorphosis: Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light’
Prince Paon: Sureender now or prepare to fight!
Ladybug: … Do you have to do that every time?
Metamorphosis/Prince: YES!
Sometimes for the hell of it, they go out transformed. They aren’t doing anything. They’re just walking and talking
It’s the citizens that got a problem. Always staring at them like some attraction
Prince Paon: So, she says… *Notices a lady staring at them* … Uh, can I like, help you?
Lady: … *Looks away*
Prince Paon: Yeah, I thought so.
As fancy villains, they go to fancy restaurants. They drink expensive tea bought with Audrey’s credit card and look badass while sipping that shit
Somehow they sparkle. It’s weird, just… When they pose, there are sparkles coming from out of nowhere
They like to show up where they’re not invited. Imagine the scenes from Cruella where she crashes each event in those outfits
It’s mostly at Audrey and Gabriel’s fashion events. They show up in extravagant versions of their usual outfits and cause a fucking scene amongst all the gaudy glitter and conservative outfit wearers
They’ve never heard of gender roles. Metamorphosis is in a suit and carrying a cane, Prince Paon has heels, a tiara, and a hand fan
And of course, they’re going to show up to events where Ladybug and Chat Noir are invited, just to be little shits since they can’t fight at an elegant black tie event
Prince Paon: Those pigtails make you look five.
Ladybug: You motherfu-
Prince Paon: *Smirks* Language. Let’s not upset the Prime Minister.
Chat Noir: Easy, m’lady.
Metamorphosis: So, is that leather suit like a kink for you?
Chat Noir: Say what, motherfu-
Metamorphosis: Oh, is that the President with his five year old niece?
Prince Paon: *Whispers* We could do this all night, motherfuckers.
Disaster Gays when they’re not Distinguished Gay villains
Marc will never forgive himself as Prince Paon for flirting with Nath. Fortunately, Zoé knows not to make that mistake… Maybe
The worst excuses to transform
Now, as for why they are doing this… Spite. They want to spite the Bourgeois family, Gabriel Agreste, Lila Rossi, The Austins minus Tomassian, Lucien Rebois, and anyone else they don’t like until they crack and end up in a mental ward
As you can see, they have a very valid reason to be villains
Next on their list is Tomoe. She’s had it too good for too long
Marc goes feral when he hears about Nath’s ex, and Zoé is considering a pyrotechnic Akuma to take care of Cosette’s family. They’ve also had it too good for too long
They’re the people who walk away from an explosion and look badass as they put on a pair of shades
OHMIGOD IT FEELS GOOD TO BE BACK
This is the first time in almost a year that I’ve felt the inspiration to write. I want to thank everyone who has commented and kudo’d my work in my absence. I still read every comment and appreciate every kudo, but now I’m back, and it’s my OTP no less!
I might not get this finished by the end of the week because depression but I will finish it.
Definitely.
Without a doubt.
Just ignore the massive amount of WIPs in my backlog.
(#)
Chloe squeezed her eyes shut against the morning light streaming through the curtains and rolled over, curling up tighter beneath the soft sheets. She hadn’t felt this relaxed in ages, not since she learned the true price of having her Miraculous full time: Hawkmoth was nocturnal. Midnight Akumas constantly robbed her of her beauty sleep, but here and now? She felt comfortable and at ease. Her hands stretched out and she felt…something. It was warm, whatever it was, so she shifted closer to it and wrapped an arm around it. The warmth groaned and shifted, but she held on that much tighter.
In her half awake state, she barely registered the grunt from beneath her, but she quite clearly heard an unfamiliar voice say, “…the hell?”
She blinked herself out of her slumber and it took two seconds to realize she wasn’t in her own bed. It took only one second more to realize that, whoever’s bed she was in, she wasn’t alone. She lifted her gaze to a man, an older man, who she didn’t recognize. His long red hair and turquoise eyes seemed familiar but the only things she registered were that she didn’t know who he was and he was in the bed with her.
She screamed and shoved away from him, sliding across the sheets and off the bed opposite him. She stood, ready to demand some damn answers, but when the man’s gaze landed on her, his face turned as red as his hair, and he turned his head away with a hand over his eyes. Chloe opened her mouth to ask what his problem was, but a draft dropped her attention away from him and down to her bare body.
The man protested when she snatched the sheets off the bed and hastily wrapped them around herself. She may have, in the process of yanking the covers away from him, caught an eyeful of something that turned her own face red, but he was thankfully quick to cover up with a pillow.
“Okay, Red. You have ten seconds to explain why the hell you’re in my bed and why we’re…naked.”
“I…I have no idea how we got here, but, um…” His eyes dropped towards Chloe’s chest.
“Hey, hey!” She snapped her fingers at him and pointed at her face. “Eyes are up here, pervo!”
“I’m not looking…” He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. After easing it between his lips, he said, “I think I know why we were in bed together. Look at your left hand.”
Chloe had the sheets clutched to her chest with her left hand. Okay, so he wasn’t looking at her breasts. She shifted her grip on the sheets and looked at her left hand. Her eyes immediately fell on the magnificent ring on her fourth finger: a diamond flanked by a trio of citrine, ruby, and sapphire on either side, and set on a black band with a single gold stripe circling the entire ring. Next to it sat a plain gold band, and when she lifted her eyes back to the man, he had his left hand held up, displaying the gold band on his own finger.
“No, no no no no way in hell!” Chloe looked form the man, back to her hand, then back to him. “We’re…married?”
“Seems like it.”
“Uh uh, no way. A, if I’m marrying anyone, it’s going to be Adrien Agreste, not whoever the hell you are, and B, last I checked I’m only 15, a little too young to be married.”
“You don’t look 15.”
“I don’t recall asking for your opinion.” Though he did have a point. Her body felt different, taller and curvier than she normally was. She shook her head and grumbled, “This has to be the work of that Akuma I was just fighting.” She glanced down around her feet and, thankfully, found some clothes. Black panties and a yellow tank top, but it was better than walking around with a sheet wrapped around her. She sat on the bed with her back to the man and dropped the sheet to get dressed.
“Wait, fighting an Akuma?” Chloe heard some shifting behind her, so she assumed he was searching for some clothes himself.
“Yeah, you don’t recognize Queen Bee?” She pulled the tank top over heard head and pulled her loose hair from the collar. “One of Paris’ great superheroes?”
The sounds of movement stopped. “Wha…Ch-Chloe?!”
“Uh, yeah, who did you think I was?” She stood, working the panties up her legs. With them in place, she turned to address this stranger but stopped when Pollen and a blue kwami she didn’t recognize phased through the door.
“Good morning, my Queen, my King,” Pollen greeted with a small bow.
“May I have some berries please?” the blue kwami asked, rubbing its tummy. “I’m hungry.”
“Duusu!” The man, now clad in dark blue boxer briefs, lunged at the kwami and clamped his hands down around it, but when he turned his gaze back to Chloe, he knew the damage had been done.
“Duusu…” Chloe’s eyes widened. She knew that kwami’s name, just as she now knew who the man was. She scolded herself for not realizing it sooner; she would have recognized that red hair anywhere.
“Paon.”
Neither of them moved or took their eyes off of each other for ten full seconds. Chloe chanced a glance to his bedside table and spotted what she knew was his Miraculous. His eyes darted to her table and back, and she knew her own Miraculous sat there. They waited. Waited for the other to make the first move, with Pollen hovering between them and appearing more and more perplexed as the moment drew out.
There. The faintest twitch of his hand. Chloe’s own hand shot out, wrapped around the comb and she leapt over the bed just as she slipped the teeth into her hair and called for her transformation. The man ducked to the side and just as the golden sparks passed by Chloe’s eyes, he snatched up a pillow and threw it into her face, buying just enough time to affix his Miraculous to the waist of his boxers and call for Duusu to transform him.
He lunged, catching Queen Bee around the middle and crashing through the bedroom door and into a modest, sparsely decorated lounge area that all but proved they weren’t somewhere Chloe Bourgeois would call home. Queen Bee rolled backwards, drove her feet into Paon’s stomach throwing him behind her, then sprang to her feet to face him. He fell through a glass coffee table, but spun on his back just right so the tail of his coat swept a shower of glass shards upwards into his opponent’s face
Queen Bee lifted one hand to her eyes to block the glass, and with the other drew her trompo from her waist and spun it to deflect a barrage of feather darts. She flung out the top, but Paon sidestepped and, completely focused on Queen Bee, failed to notice it ricochet off of the refrigerator and slam into his back. Queen Bee whipped the trompo cord around him, catching the top on the end and using the momentum to wrap the line around him even tighter. She kicked him in the chest hard enough to knock him to the ground, leapt on top of him with her legs on either side of him, then caught her trompo.
The word to activate her power had just formed on her tongue when the handle to the front door jiggled, drawing her attention, and Paon’s. The door swung open and in strode a dark skinned woman with rust-colored hair in an undercut and a broad smile beneath her glasses. “Good morning Kurtzbergs! Put your pants on because I have a surpri-OH GODDAMMIT!” When she laid eyes on them, Queen Bee with Paon tied up beneath her, her face went from smile to disgust, to mild disappointment all in the span of two seconds. She spun back outside, swearing the entire way.
Queen Bee’s blood ran cold and she dropped her shocked gaze to the man tied up beneath her. “Kurtzberg? As in…Nathanael Kurtzberg?” Paon grimaced and turned his head away.
“What happened, Alya?” another woman asked just outside the door.
“I walked in on Chloe on top of Nath. They’re transformed and he’s tied up and-”
“Well, maybe this will teach you to knock from now on.” In walked another woman, this one with a dark pixie cut and bright blue eyes. “Okay you two. You’ve had all week to fuck each other’s brains out, now detransform and…Jesus, you broke the coffee table?” She groaned and slapped her hand over her eyes. “Do you have any idea how much Adrien spent on that?”
“Okay,” Queen Bee barked. “Who the hell are you and what are you doing in my house?”
The dark haired woman peeked out from under her hand. “Wait, what?”
“Hey, it could be my house,” Paon grunted indignantly.
“Shut it tomato brain. As if you could afford your own place drawing sub par Ladybug comics.”
Alya walked inside, seeming just as confused as her companion. “Tomato brain? You haven’t called him that in…like, ten years. Are you two having some kind of lover’s spat?”
Queen Bee rolled her eyes. “There’s no way I’m in love with, or married to, this absolute loser. This has to be the work of that Akuma his boss sicced on us.” She blinked at Alya. “And what the hell did you do to your hair?”
Alya lifted a hand to her undercut. “I…got this done, like…a couple months ago…”
“Tomato…Akuma…doesn’t recognize…” The dark haired woman narrowed her eyes at Queen Bee. “Chloe, what year is it?”
“2019, though I don’t exactly look 15 anymore, so I-”
She ignored whatever else Queen Bee had to say and dropped her eyes to Paon. “And Nath? Do you agree it’s 2019?”
Paon tilted his head to look at the woman, though she was upside down from his perspective. “Um, yeah, but how do you know who I am?”
She swore and turned to Alya. “Could you call Adrien and Nino please?”
“Team meeting?”
The woman nodded. “Team meeting.” Alya walked back outside, fishing her phone from her pcoket, and the dark haired woman crouched down. “Okay, this is gonna be a little shocking, but it’s 2029 and you two, at least the two of you from this timeline, got married last week. I know your identity-” she pointed to Paon “-because we’re not enemies anymore. We’re actually close friends. A little more than ten years ago, you betrayed Hawkmoth and helped us defeat him.”
“Us?” Queen Bee said. She looked the woman over. Dark hair, blue eyes, earrings… “Wait, Ladybug?”
The woman smiled. “Yeah, I’m Ladybug, and Chloe, I want you to promise me you won’t freak out too much when I tell you my name, oka-”
“Hey, Mari,” Alya walked back in and stuffed her phone back into her pocket. “The boys said they’ll be here in about-”
“Mari?” Paon turned his head to get a better look at the woman. “Marinette?”
“Marinette?” Queen Bee stopped breathing. “Dupain-Cheng?…Ladybu…wha…” Her breathing started back up, but far faster and shallower than it should have been.
Marinette slapped her hand over her eyes again and sighed. “Oh, goddammit.”
Nathaniel, Lila, Kagami, Adrien, Rose, Juleka, Marinette and Luka had got reunited together in the break around a table at the cafeteria to eat to get prepared for the next lesson.
“Yesterday I and Luka were on our way to deliver the special prepared Sablés at everyone’s house and on the way I’ve accidentally dropped the bag with the miraculouses and the cookies on the streets and I forgot to check, if I had all miraculouses and I didn’t realize the moth miraculous was gone” The Chinese descendant girl explained her friends, “Now someone has found it and is using it for the bad”
“Don’t worry, we’re all getting the miraculous back. We all managed to take Le Paon the miraculous away, so we will also manage to take Monarch down….that’s what you heard, right sis?” Questioned Luka glancing at his younger sister, who nodded at the boy.
“Listen later Alix is going to do a presentation about my superhero identity, I will inform them all to stay positive and if an akuma approaches them to try stay happy to avoid them to get akumatzed” Informed the redhead boy. “Is this a good thing?”
“It would be good to assure them, we’re always around to help them like Cat Noir and Ladybug did in the past” Responded Rose to Nathaniel. “Do it Nath”
“Does Alix know your superhero identity Nathaniel?” Asked Adrien picking up from the tableau, that stood in front of the friends another croissant to eat.
“No” Replied Nathaniel. “I don’t even know if it’s a good idea to tell her that. You all know, she has a crush on Super Nathan and I’m afraid when I tell her that she will hate me for good”
“If that is because you’re dating Lila just tell Alix you and Miss Vixen are dating. Although everyone should know that by now” Kagami said. “Well compared to me and Adrien at least”
“But in your civilian selves fangirls often go behind you two,” Lila said with a chuckle.
“They go behind Adrien, not me. They only follow me to get me out of their way to get closer to Adrien”
“What?” Asked Nathaniel surprised.
“But I never saw them going behind you?” Rose questioned looking at Kagami and Adrien.
“That’s mostly after or before photo shoots” Explained Adrien. “To avoid this fangirl mayhem she’s most of the times present on my shoots or at her house”
“It’s really incredible, how most of the fans of him only want him because he’s really famous”
“That was me a few years ago, but then I found Nathaniel” Lila mentioned leaning her head on Nathaniel’s shoulder making him smile a little embarrassed.
“That’s why I have been rejecting all the girls from every flirting attempts, cause I know it wouldn’t ever work out,” The blonde Frenchboy told the group. “I’ve seen in the movies how the relationships were like”
“At least you got Kagami” Luka added. “How did she manage to get together with you?”
“We had become friends at the fencing lessons and after a funny accident, we had during fencing I had found her….alluring” Answered Adrien looking at Kagami while scratching with his hand behind his neck.
“I was so mean for the coming days. I didn’t want us to become a thing, but I couldn’t get him out of my head and at the same time I was afraid Adrien wasn’t as kind as he seemed to be”
“And the fangirls?” Questioned Luka.
“I didn’t think about that before. I got surprised as fangirls approached me more often because I’m with Adrien”
“I don’t know, but I’d love to see myself in the future and all my fans going behind me….but of course I will still have my eyes on you, Marinette,” Luka said gazing at Marinette, that blushed at his comment.
“I really love your talking about the past and the future guys, but we came here to talk about the villain, that akumatized my sweet Juleka” Rose mentioned placing her hand on Juleka’s making the girlfriend smile a little.
“Right, that’s why the meeting was set up,” Marinette said looking at Rose together with Luka. “Sorry for the distraction”
“Whoever it is, we need to find out, who has got the moth miraculous and stop them from more akumatizations in Paris,” Adrien said. “I can’t believe shortly before our adult lives start this had to come in our way again”
“Same” Agreed Luka. “I can handle once in a while skip my band practice, but now if the akumas are back it won’t be that easy to sneak out, every time one breaks out”
“Same and what if this continues for more years?” Asked Kagami. “How are we supposed to keep up with our own lives and responsibilities?”
“We going to manage this too, we’re six heroes after all.” Assured Adrien. “And if necessary Marinette can give out one or two miraculouses to others to help us fight”
“Of course” Responded Marinette and the bell rang, advising the students to get back to the classrooms. “Oh we gotta go back”
“Well, I’m going back to the ship,” Luka said getting up from the chair. “If anyone finds any clues, inform me and Marinette” Warned Luka saluting with his point and middle finger at the squad, then walked away heading to the exit of the cafeteria.
  In the classroom, Alix was doing the presentation of her favorite superhero and on her powerpoint, she showed a video of Super Nathan being interviewed by Alix herself.
“If I had a presentation at the school about you, would you show up and show them some of your moves?” Questioned Alix.
“Of course” Responded Super Nathan. “If I’m not busy dealing with bad guys I would totally love to show up”
“Would you also appear in the classroom in your own way?” Asked Alix, then Super Nathan smirked holding his tablet to use the pen to draw something on the tablet, then the camera turned black and Alix moved her hands to the window, where Super Nathan stood on a flying carpet, that he had drawn with his tablet, then all students applauded afterward Miss Bustier opened for the superhero the window and he entered with the carpet into the classroom landing next to Alix.
“Good morning everyone, I’m Super Nathan, one of the superheroes here in Paris. The beautiful capital of France” Super Nathan explained using his tablet to draw something, then on the table of Miss Bustier appeared a small flag of the country they’re all living in.
“Bravo,” Miss Bustier said with a smile as the redhead had drawn the French national flag.
“Have you all got any special wishes I could draw for you in real life?” Asked Super Nathan and a few students raised their hands up.
“Nin….I mean boy with the red cap” Super Nathan called the Morrocan, who placed his arm down to tell the superhero what he wanted to.
“Can you draw the new Jagged Stone music cover, including its CD with the songs of it?” “I have no idea if it’s possible, but I can draw a functional stereo system,” Super Nathan said drawing on his tablet a stereo system and as he was done the device appeared over Super Nathan, then he caught it and showed it to the class.
“Amazing!” All replied stunned in chorus.
“Super Nathan” Called Kim still holding his arm in the air. “Is it possible, that you could draw a living person or animal?”
“No, but I can draw a voodoo doll, that really works” Responded Super Nathan surprising the classmates.
“Okay I don’t need to see that,” Kim said a little frightened about the response.
“Good and the next one….what about the girlfriend of Adrien Agreste?” Suggested Super Nathan.
“Can you draw me a fan of Cat Noir?” Asked Kagami earning a nod from Super Nathan.
“Well, I try. I’ve never have drawn one before….nor Cat Noir did I”
“Well, then just a fan,” Kagami said earning a nod from the superhero, who was doing the commission she asked for, seconds later a small fan appeared over Kagami and she used it to cool herself down.
“Wait, Super Nathan, I’ve got a cooler idea,” Kim said jumping up from his seat.
“What is it, Kim?” Asked Super Nathan roll his eyes wondering, what the Vietnamese was going to ask him.
“Can you draw on people clothing?” Asked Kim making Super Nathan gulp at the question.
“S...sure...” “Can you add geisha clothing to Kagami?” Asked Kim making Kagami look in shock at Kim along with Adrien.
“What?” Shouted the Japanese girl.
“I could, but I can’t promise it will look good” Super Nathan said looking at Kagami, who crossed her arms looking away from the superhero.
“Come on, it’s not like you’re going to undress her and dress her all up, right?”
“Of course not!”
“See?”
Super Nathan sighed then tapped with his pen on the screen of his device and wide his eyes as he had a brilliant idea, then started to draw on the tablet on the body of a person, that was captured by the device and after two minutes Super Nathan was done and removed his pen off the tablet looking at the class, which had all looked at Kagami, who had closed her eyes, then all were confused to see Kagami in her uniform.
“She’s still in her school uniform,” Adrien said, then Kagami opened her left eye to look at herself in surprise as nothing had been done to her.
“Why did you do this to me!?!?!” Shouted a voice and all looked at Kim, then started to laugh while Super Nathan smirked and rolled his pen with his middle and index finger at his success.
“The red lip gloss doesn’t really suit you Kim” Mentioned Lila starting to laugh along with her best friend.
“But it would suit you” Super Nathan said seeing Lila look up at him, smiling at the superhero, that approached the girl.
“Oh, what are you going to do to me Super Nathan?” Asked Lila teasingly knowing Super Nathan was just playing with her.
“Nothing, but giving you this” Super Nathan said drawing on his tablet a rose, that appeared in front of Super Nathan, then the superhero gently gave it to the girl. “Here the most gorgeous girls receive from me a flower”
“That’s sweet, but I have already got a loving boyfriend and my favorite flowers are tiger lilies” “Well I’m not into drawing flowers so….you won’t ever get them” “Well don’t worry, my sweet boyfriend is going to bring me them someday,” Lila said making Super Nathan roll his eyes down in embarrassment turning light pink on the cheeks.
“Hey Max, isn’t Super Nathan actually an adult?” Asked Kim.
“I don’t know” Responded Max “Ask Alix”
“Super Nathan, are we allowed to know your age or some details of your civilian self?” Asked Ivan.
“Just some tiny, little details” Responded Super Nathan holding his index finger and thumb nearly close together to Ivan.
“How old are you?” Asked Ivan.
“I’m….uh 25” Responded Super Nathan.
“Where are you from?” Asked Lila.
“France” Responded Super Nathan. “And Liechtenstein!” Super Nathan added to avoid anything similar to his civilian self.
“Do you know Miss Vixen’s secret identity?” Asked Adrien.
“Why not?”
“Is she hotter with or without the suit?” Asked Nino getting elbowed by his girlfriend. “I’m just asking”
“I don’t know, both are good” Responded Super Nathan making a few girls chuckle. “Uhm you were talking about the civilian self of her, right?”
“Yeah”
“Oh good” “Can I have my old clothes back?” Asked Kim looking at Super Nathan, who took his tablet in front of him again, opening the layer with the geisha outfit and erased the layer, so that the clothing would disappear and Kim would stay back with his previous outfit. “Thank you”
“Okay guys and girls, I’ve gotta finish the presentation. Maybe Super Nathan has later time to take selfies with us or to give an autograph or two” Alix said moving on her power point presentation to the end page.
“The best for me about this presentation was I could get to know my idol better and show you all, how of an awesome and kind person he is” Alix said making Super Nathan smile, then Alix moved to the last page, which was a gif of a famous rapper clapping with his hands, afterward the class applauded at the pink-haired girl.
“Well I’ve gotta go kids, I need to stay focused on Paris, mostly after an akuma having caught one of your friends” Super Nathan said looking at Juleka, which was being patted by the girlfriend. “Remember to always stay positive and if you’re feeling down and an akuma appears, try to make yourself feel happy, fight against the akuma, try to resist it trying to control your mind. I know you can do that” Super Nathan told the class, who nodded at the superhero.
“Thank you for coming, Super Nathan and for helping Juleka out of the trouble” The teacher thanked the redhead, which nodded at the woman.
“No problem. My friends, have a nice day and see you someday” Super Nathan said leaving the classroom and closing the door behind him.
“That was a very interesting presentation, Alix, good job” Miss Bustier complimented the short girl, who walked back at her seat. “Now mes enfants, in a minute the bell is going to ring. If you want you can leave now for the break and Adrien can prepare himself for his presentation”
“Sure Miss Bustier” Adrien said getting up carrying to the front a barrel bag to the front, placing it on the desk of Miss Bustier, then took from his pocket a stick to insert it on Miss Bustier’s laptop to search for his presentation.
“Hey Adrien, about who are you going to do a presentation?” Asked the Vietnamese boy passing by the blonde together with Max, while the other classmates left for the break.
“Kagami’s mother” Responded Adrien. “I wanted Jagged Stone, but Marinette had already picked him”
“Cool, it’s her mother, who was a fencing champion, right?”
“Yes” Replied Adrien.
“Great can’t wait to hear about it” Kim said leaving the class along with Max, then Kagami approached the blonde, who felt a little tensed about his presentation.
“Are you nervous?” Questioned the blue-haired girl.
“A bit” Responded Adrien.
“Don’t worry, it will go fine” Kagami comforted the boy making him smile. “I’m spreading my mother’s fencing utensils on the table if you don’t mind”
“Thanks,” Adrien said opening the powerpoint on the laptop, then connected it on the writing app with the overhead projector to make the image appear behind him on the wall. “Kagami, are you interested to go out tonight at the cinema?”
“Again?” Asked Kagami confused.
“Well, we couldn’t fully enjoy it, because we had to move out to help the staff out of the cargo ship” The blonde mentioned. “Or we go out somewhere else”
“No it’s alright,” Said Kagami. “Perhaps we go alone this time?”
“Sure, I’m fine with that” Adrien said making his girlfriend smile, then he helped Kagami take the rest of the objects from the barrel bag out to place it on the table of the teacher.
 Inside the boys’ restroom Super Nathan stood in front of the mirror gazing annoyed at his reflection.
“Karaa, stripes off. Stripes off!” Super Nathan said loud to destransform back into his civilian self, but it didn’t work out. “Karaa, what’s going on?” Asked Super Nathan. “Is it possible, that she can’t hear me?” Super Nathan told it himself walking to the exit of the restrooms opening the door, then he shrieked as he saw Alix standing in front of him with her fist in the air, about to knock on the door.
“Alix?” Asked Super Nathan surprised. “This is the boy’s restroom?”
“I know, sorry. I wanted to see if my friend Nathaniel was here. He had left to go to the toilet and hasn’t come back.”
“Oh is it a short redhead with a grey dress jacket, purple pants, turquoise eyes and has this…..hairstyle I don’t know how to explain and….is very good looking?”
“Well he is, but you’re way more gorgeous compared to my friend,” Alix said blushing a little as she avoided eye contact with the superhero.
“Oh boy” Super Nathan mumbled at how much Alix was attracted to the superhero. “Alix listen, you’re a great girl, but….I and Miss Vixen are dating. And I’ve got a double life. I can’t be always present to be there for you”
“You mean, if Miss Vixen wouldn’t be with you, I actually had a chance with you?”
“No, that’s not what I meant”
“But, what are you referring to Super Nathan?” Asked Alix and Super Nathan placed his hands on the girl’s shoulders.
“Listen Alix…...I know you’re….uh….listen to my voice. Listen to me talking now. When you hear my voice, what does it make you think off?”
“The first time I saw you on TV talking” Responded Alix dreamy. “Your voice makes you even more attractive”
“Doesn’t my voice not make you think of a certain friend or something?”
“Nope” Responded Alix making Super Nathan groan.
“It doesn’t matter, Alix listen I need to go quick. I….need to help Viperion with…..a car accident!”
“Your excuses are so ridiculous,” Alix said with a chuckle, then Super Nathan shook the girl on her shoulders.
“Why are you so oblivious?” Shouted Super Nathan annoyed, then Alix pressed her lips on Super Nathan’s lips, shrieking him as his friend had kissed him on the lips. “Fuck” Mumbled Super Nathan, then suddenly behind his back his miraculous started to beep lighting up behind his shoulder his symbol and he got transformed back into Nathaniel Kurtzberg, right in front of Alix, who just opened her eyes as she had felt Super Nathan’s cover disappear and shocking the pink-haired girl as she just discovered, whose identity was from her idol.
“Nathaniel?!?!” Asked Alix shocked. “You’re Super Nathan?”
“Karaa, what happened?” Asked Nathaniel looking up at her kwami.
“I don’t know, this nevew happened to me befowe” Responded Karaa shrugging her shoulders.
“Alix about this, I’m so sorry I’ve never told you about my secret identity, I was initially not allowed to tell this anyone, not even my best friends…..I just told this the other superheroes, because we were partners and there was really no point in hiding this from each other” Nathaniel explained watching Alix still in shock gazing at the redhead. “Please don’t get mad at me or you’ll get akumatized too and I can’t transform as long as Karaa hasn’t charged her energies”
“Her energies?” Asked Alix starting to chuckle. “Is she like some plush toy, where you can put batteries or so?” Asked the pink-haired girl, making the kwami cross her arms.
“I’m not a toy. I’m a kwami,” Corrected the white kwami.
“Awesome” Alix said tickling the kwami on the sides, making it laugh. “I can’t believe my best friend is a superhero”
“So….. you’re not angry at me?” Questioned Nathaniel a little bewildered.
“I kind of thought before, when you were gone during my presentation, while Super Nathan was there and flirted with Lila, that it would be most likely to be you his secret identity. You have even missed several times some lessons, because of an emergency and during that space of time, Super Nathan was out there”
“So….you….kinda knew it?”
“Well I’m not surprised it was you”
“And you still had a crush on Super Nathan, even knowing it was me?”
“I couldn’t know it was really you, it could have also been someone else”
“Well there you’re right”
“Yeah, I check my sources about you more than Alya. But she started doing that as she realized, she was wrong at some aspects.
“Good and you know you can’t tell anyone about my identity? But I know I can trust you” “Of course Nathaniel. Who am I, Chloé?”
“No, you’re my friend,” Told Nathaniel.
“Yeah…..and wait….since you’re dating Miss Vixen….is she Lila in someway?” Questioned the pink-haired girl earning a nod from her friend. “Makes sense”
“Thank god, imagine Lila and Miss Vixen weren’t the same girls and I had a crush on them. I’d be screwed” Responded Nathaniel and the bell of the school rang, calling the students back to class. “We gotta go, now we’re going to listen to Adrien’s presentation”
“I bet he won’t stutter that lot during the presentations as you”
“Hey!” Yelled Nathaniel. “I can’t help myself. I practice it so much, but it still doesn’t work”
“Yeah, you practiced. Right, I believe you”
“I swear I did. The other times I practiced too, the problem is it never comes out the way I want it to”
“I believe you,” Alix said opening the door of the restrooms. “Come, Miss Bustier is sure wondering, why you took so long in the toilet”
“Yeah, most likely,” Nathaniel said leaving the restroom along with his friend.
Who Said That Every Wish Chapter 14: Mom, Meet Wayzz
The first non-hero is brought in on the secret. We get Nino's perspective on a few past events.
<< First | < Previous | Next > Read on AO3
On the roof of the hospital, Carapace's transformation fell. He waited for Chat, leaning on the roof access door.
"You didn't have to wait," Felix said, detransforming.
"Ah, actually I did," Nino said. "Someone took the crutches I left out here to get me to the wheelchair I left at the bottom of the stairs. Also, if my physical therapist asks, I did none of this and never even looked at a set of stairs without her knowledge and permission."
The two boys found an awkward but fairly stable way to get Nino to his wheelchair and then they made their way back to Nino's room.
"Just so you know, mom's pissed you went missing," Melanie said to her brother, sans greeting, when she saw him in the hall. "Hey, Felix."
"It's like two in the morning," Nino said. "Why are you all here?"
"A nurse checked on you and you were gone and he called mom." Melanie glanced between Nino and Felix for a moment. "I told her it was probably something like this. Go, make your bullshit excuses," she gestured towards Nino's room. "I'll take Chris home so you can be yelled at in privacy."
A few yards from the room, Nino held up a hand to stop Felix.
“What?” Felix asked, glancing at the door and then at Nino.
“What if I told her?”
“Told who what?” Felix asked. There were too many secrets to choose from.
“Y'know,” Nino said, glancing around the deserted hall. He held up his left wrist and miraculous.
“Oh… have you talked to Buggy about it?”
“That's kinda what those team meetings you wouldn't go to were about,” Nino said. “The rest of us think it's time we came out to our loved ones. At least, the ones we think can handle it, like our parents and maybe Mel and Nath, if you want. Even Nathalie's on board, we were just waiting for you. Adrien wanted all of us to present the idea to you together, but oh well. What do you think?"
"Overall, I think it’s time. But she's your mother, so that’s your decision," Felix said. "Do you want me to go with you?"
"I want you here whenever I can have you," Nino said, much too serious for the late hour.
Felix ducked his head, annoyed that he felt bashful. Nino gestured towards the door and he resumed pushing the chair to the room.
"Nino," Mrs. Lahiffe said on a sigh. "I spend all day working with runaways, I don't want to come home to them."
"I didn't run away," Nino said.
"I did," Felix said. Mrs. Lahiffe and Nino both glared at him. The tech who had been helping with the search for Nino helped him from the chair to the bed and left.
"Felix, I need to have a conversation with my son," Mrs. Lahiffe said. "It's also the middle of the night and you should be at home. Why are you out and about in your pajamas?"
"He's staying. Mom, sit," Nino said, patting the side of his bed. Felix came to stand on the other side of the bed, not sure if he was supposed to (allowed to?) hold Nino's hand. Nino solved this by grabbing blindly for Felix until their hands met.
"If this is about you two dating, can it wait until morning?" Mrs. Lahiffe asked.
"It's not about that. I'm just gonna say it, okay?" Nino glanced at Felix for strength, then turned back to his mother. "I'm Carapace, mom. That's how I got hurt."
Mrs. Lahiffe sighed, frustrated. "Felix, maybe you should go so I can explain to my son the difference between appropriate and inappropriate jokes."
"He's serious," Felix said. "I'm Chat Noir. You already know Gabr- my father was Hawkmoth. I told Nino when I found out Hawkmoth’s identity and he went and tried to take him down himself."
"I wasn't going to phrase it like that," Nino muttered.
Mrs. Lahiffe shook her head. "Nino, do you... actually this explains a lot."
"Like what?" Nino asked.
"Why you sneak out. Your secret crush that I always suspected was Chat Noir. That you keep disappearing during akuma battles even though I know you're not with Alya filming them like you claim. And you're exactly the kind of person who would try to fight Hawkmoth alone."
"You suspected my crush was Chat Noir and still insisted I invite him over all the time?"
"Absolutely. I could tell that boy had troubles at home. I was hoping a few home cooked meals and the sight of a healthy family dynamic might give him some stability in his life." She paused, eyes flicking to Felix for a moment before returning to Nino. "My second guess was Felix, with the same hope."
"Both Chat Noirs need it," Nino said.
"Right, there's two of you. Are there secretly two of all of you? Who's the other Chat Noir?"
"Adrien shares with Felix, the rest of us are just us."
She muttered "of course" under her breath.
"So, that's my news," Nino said. "I say we all get a good night's sleep and regroup tomorrow."
"Nice try," Mrs. Lahiffe said, raising an eyebrow. "Where were you tonight, why is Felix in his pajamas, what happened the night Felix 'ran away', and who else knows about all this superhero stuff?"
The boys exchanged a look.
"She's your mother," Felix said. "I'm just here."
"Fine, but that means I'm telling it my way," Nino warned. Felix rolled his eyes but didn't voice any objections. "I went to get Felix back tonight," Nino said. "I'm aware you think that's a stupid thing to do, but when I'm transformed, the suit makes up for any injuries, although it does take a toll on my kwami. So, I flew to-"
"Kwami?"
"Oh, yeah!" Nino said, looking around the room. "Wayzz, come meet my mom, officially."
Wayzz popped up with a deep nod in Mrs. Lahiffe's direction. "Nice to meet you. I am Wayzz, the Turtle Kwami."
"Your turtle talks... and flies," Mrs. Lahiffe whispered, her eyes following Wayzz as the kwami lowered himself to Nino's shoulder.
"Master, if I could have some kale?" Wayzz asked.
"Right," Nino said, looking around the room. "Felix, you mind? The lunch box over there."
There was a pink lunch box with "Marinette Dupain-Cheng" written in wobbly permanent marker on the handle. It contained a couple ice packs, kale, cheese, and cookies. Felix readied a paper towel as a makeshift plate and brought it to Wayzz while Nino took his mom through "Miraculous Magic 101".
"Anyway, Felix was being ridiculous and was sulking so I went to try and get him to forgive me for the whole 'attacking Hawkmoth single-handedly and almost dying' thing. It turned into a fight, which turned into another fight a few minutes later, and then we came back here."
Felix cleared his throat. "That's not how I would-"
"You agreed to let me tell it," Nino said, turning a challenging eye on him. "Unless you have significant parts of the story to add, I'm telling it."
Felix had never loved him more than in that moment.
"Let's see, what else..." Nino muttered. "Oh, yeah, so, Felix running away. He figured out his old man was his sworn enemy because our lives are some weird Shakespearean drama, and found Carapace- me- on his patrol route. He was kinda falling apart and asked to come home with me, and since my mother raised me to take in strays, we went home and revealed our identities. I got the story out of him, fed him hot chocolate and popcorn, and when he fell asleep, I snuck out, tried to fight Hawkmoth, and landed on Marinette's balcony. Thankfully, she's Ladybug and was able to get me to the hospital."
Mrs. Lahiffe sighed. "You snuck your crush into the house, revealed your superhero identity without any planning or forethought, and then, as the newest member of Team Superhero, went by yourself to fight a supervillain that has been around since you were in middle school."
"Am I, like, perma-grounded?"
"I have no idea," Mrs. Lahiffe said, rubbing the heel of her hand into her forehead. "I did, in fact, teach you to take in strays. And I didn't notice that you were sneaking out frequently enough to be a superhero so that one's definitely on me. And facing Hawkmoth alone was idiotic, but brave." She put a hand on the side of his face. "I'm mad, and none of those were the right choice or the wise choice, but they were still good choices. It's something we can work on together."
Felix was starting to feel bits of his brain falling asleep while he stood there. He was following the conversation as best he could, but not everything was processing. As important as he knew this moment was, he really just needed sleep.
"What about the others? Who knows about this stuff? What's going on with the un-retired Paon that took down Hawkmoth?"
Nino explained about Marinette and Nathalie and Fu while Felix concentrated on not falling asleep standing up.
A hand suddenly brushed Felix's arm. "You doing okay?" Mrs. Lahiffe asked.
"Fine," he said, blinking a few times. Had he actually fallen asleep for a second there?
"Nino, scootch over so Felix can sleep while we talk," she said, shifting to a chair so they would have room.
"No, I'm fine," Felix said, taking a step away. Nino tugged on his hand.
"Plagg's not going to let you transform and try to get to Nathalie's at this hour, dude. Stop being weird and get over here."
"Don't argue, we Lahiffes are stubborn," Mrs. Lahiffe said.
Felix considered arguing anyway, but the second he took to consider this was long enough for him to close his eyes again, and this time he jerked awake.
"You don't mind?" he asked Mrs. Lahiffe as he slowly lowered himself to sit on the very edge of the bed.
"I'd mind more if you fell asleep, fell down, and injured yourself."
"Just go to sleep," Nino said, yanking Felix towards himself.
Felix yelped and pulled back. "I'll hurt you."
"No, you won't. Go to sleep."
Despite his protests, Felix fell asleep within seconds of his head hitting Nino's shoulder.
"You really care about him," Mrs. Lahiffe said, smiling at the soft expression on her son's face.
"He loves me," Nino said, grinning at his mother.
"It took me a while to see it, but he does, and I'm glad," she said.
"I think he's a little scared of you," Nino said, looking over as Felix shifted in his sleep.
"Fear is probably all he knows right now," Mrs. Lahiffe said. "We'll fix that."
"Except Mel," Nino said.
"Except Mel," she agreed. "She likes to be feared."
