OK so I know the Yggdrasil Thor was talking about in his first movie isn't the same Yggdrasil that exists at the end of Loki, but excuse me for loving the idea that Loki connects all the worlds, that because of him, a man who fears above all else being alone and unloved, nobody ever has to feel alone in the cosmos again

Well, this is what happens when you force a hot-headed mother and a distant child to sit, talk, and eat dinner for at least an hour or two when, clearly, their relationship had gone south the moment Rosabelle gave birth and thought how she didn't want Sol. And Sol, well, she didn't know how to deal with her mother. Minthe had always been there to defuse whatever bomb her mom would throw at her, but she wasn't there anymore. So the bomb just exploded.

Saw a wooden hand model in a craft store a few months ago and because of that I realized for a robot hand to be able to spread it's fingers apart and have full mobility the palm can't be a solid block and would have to resemble human joints

#That or some cases I have seen in games and such where there are ball joints directly on the palm #so while it looks unnatural the fingers themselves can spread out #I have my lil guy in big gloves though so I took the skeleton hand route #oh yeah this is for a robot guy in my story lol #his name is Cedrick :)#there's also a sentient toaster named Mel that I got the idea for from a random joke #Dapper discusses

read an old astolat fic i hadn’t read before & realized: the problem i had with it was the same problem i had with caroline stevermer’s a college of magics a million years ago now, & the same problem i had with gideon the ninth much more recently, & the same problem i’m sure i’ve had with a hundred other books i’m forgetting & will have with a hundred more, because authors do so love this particular sleight of hand & really i do too, when the pieces come slotting magically belatedly together in a way that actually convinces me—

id est, the fifth-act ‘they love each other for real and true after all, and all the play at indifference or even resentment was just a screen over the real hot feeling released at last, flooding out like tears or piss or blood or spend, whatever says real raw life to you—’ reveal where all the legerdemain falls away at last to show the characters’ real attitude towards each other, and all the ambiguities get recast in a blaze of shining clarity—

except that half the time, or honestly probably more than half, it ends up feeling to me like—the author’s been too busy reveling in their own cleverness to actually bother constructing a proper road under my feet, for me to shuffle along even in darkness, so i’m not there with them and i can’t get there in time and the armor is falling away to reveal—nothing at all, an empty carapace with no human or heart in it after all—

or, okay, i’m obviously having fun spooling out my imagery there but more prosaically i just do think—a lot of the time i just fundamentally don’t agree with authors about the amount of scaffolding that’s necessary for a real rapturous serious connection to feel plausible, and like, maybe that makes me a product of fanfiction culture where feelings get so much screentime most of the time, i’ve gotten spoiled by it; but isn’t it equally possible some authors are relying a little lazily on the sort of structural cues that say, we’ve reached the denouement, it’s time for love to stand in the light of day at long last like aragorn and arwen in the movie, so if we slot characters into those roles who are prominent enough the cadence will do the rest of the work to make the thing feel conclusive, like we’re in a mediocre ada limón poem that has nothing really revelatory to say but sure knows how to sound like it does…?

#bookblogging #it’s fine if any of the things i’ve cited here DO work for you personally‚ obviously!#but like. you see this shit in movies all the time and there it’s even more obviously We Know It’s a Love Story So They Must Be in Love #and in the SFF i’ve cited it’s a little less obvious bc there are a lot of other plot pieces in play #but like. if you want that emotional throughline to carry us up and out—it can’t drop us #we have to be in the palm of its hand carried along even when we didn’t know we were‚ like that stupid christian ‘footprints’ poem #otherwise it’s just a baffled hollowness instead of a warmth

[throws dart at wheel] Gon losing his arm is a representation of [follow-up throw] his severing of his relationship with Killua [nails top of board] instead of his following in Kite’s path. The significance of Killua healing Gon’s arm and then leaving [puts hand over eyes] is that Gon’s journey in the Chimera Ant arc is of fully abandoning Killua without realizing that Killua is his own left hand (or right hand if we go by the loss), and failing to win without Killua to bail him out. Killua getting Nanika to heal him means that Gon’s arm healing is Killua restoring himself to Gon’s side, and then Killua’s departure is him telling Gon to start operating as a whole and complete being without him.

#gonna get ready 4 bed ig.. i wanna try n wake up at ermm 545 bc ive been sleeping in far too much and ive barely been brushing my teeth in #the mornings ive mostly just been doing mouthwash #aughhh idk why my body is being so dire today my thighs r doing the incredibly weak and fatigued thing again. i feel like that tweet thats #like im probably nonbinary but i have a job so idc abt that rn but its i probably have some undiagnosed physical disorders but i live in a #garage so idc abt that rn #idk. its been going on for a couple years but its been getting worse to the point i can barely move my legs when it happens #that and then my limbs have been falling asleep very quickly even when theres nothing thyat would like. im not laying on them or anything #ill just be walking or something arms at my sides and one or both will get rly bad pins and needles #and it rly sucks and is weird. but again i live in a fucking garage so it is fr the least of my worries #like rn at my computer typing my arm isnt resting on anything or having any pressure put on it and my hand is falling asleep. UGH #it has been happening a ton with my hands i get this weirxd sensation in my wrist/palm zone that like. idk #its weird and i should prolly get it checked out but i dont have a dr rn and like. worst case scenario i chop my arms off and either surviv #and have a good story or i die and dont have to go to work anymore. so
