The massive bug chewed, pleased with its treat, for pikmin was its favorite snack. The girl stood frozen as she watched. The Pests in her hands had too fallen silent, cold with fear, leaving nothing but the crunching of their friend to be heard. With an audible gulp the Giant opened its eyes that had been closed with pure pleasure of its meal and look down at the red critter in her hand.

She quickly stepped back and offered the whimpering little treat to the monster who seemed beyond happy to be fed, taking it into its mouth with a lap of its massive tongue. Once more its eyes glistened with joy as it munched on the tiny tasty morsel and swallowed it down. It was clear the beast was motivated greatly by food as its eyes landed on the last bitty blue being that she held upside down by its legs.

The beast licked at the last pikmin that dangled and cried in her grasp. The mother smiled as she placed a hand on the round warm nose, stroking it. She didn't hand over the last treat, not yet. For the first time in months, a glimmer of hope stood before her and she wasn't going to let it pass her by.

Cher is one of my earliest female icons in fashion and lifestyle. As a young girl I was fascinated with her dramatic face, her relationship and couture with Bob Mackie, her radicalism in feminism, her too cool for men attitude, and (obviously) her deep sultry voice.

Recently I have been watching a few videos about her battle for conservatorship over her son’s property and finances. All the updates are painting her in the same light as Jamie Spears, yet through the alleged incidents that these bloggers and other media list, the reasoning comes across to me is that Cher is being a responsible mother to a child of hers addled with drug addiction and cannot / will not get clean despite the numerous rehabs he’s been a guest at for over a decade. To me, that’s a perfect response in order for her to make sure he cannot have access to that kind of capital assets to liquidate for his next fix.

Maybe main media is plagued with the wrong idea of conservatorship as only a negative and evil thing to do. Maybe most people have not had the hardening experience of a junkie loved one and cannot comprehend the fracturing effects that addicts have on the people around them.

Or maybe I just really like Cher.
