A/n: I've had a good but also bad week (good thanks to @puff0o0 and other extremely sweet mutuals), it's neutral, I'm not here to rant of any sort but my personal life has not been good. I understand that not everyone will like me but it feels as though everyone hates me, most of those people happen to be at school. Sure I'm not really going to do anything about it because I prefer avoiding conflict but those same people are trying to flip the story around as if I'm the one who hates them when in reality I don't and by being mean to me they're giving me a reason to dislike them. Sure I'm average academically, sometimes I have difficulty pulling my weight in group works and I'm not outstanding in reportings but we all have our difficulties. I just don't understand people who love to hate on others because they have nothing better to do.

This is a word of advice to everyone, don't let others let you feel insignificant, you aren't and you have many talents that make you different from them. (I don't really practice what I preach because I love self-deprication, however I don't want people to feel the way I do because I know what it can cause)

He was so used to the smell of hospitals, the smell of medication, it always indicated death for him but this was a whole new feeling. It was the opposite of what he has seen most of his life

So much so that he refused to hold them, afraid of potentially hurting the fragile little one. He looked at you as if you were crazy when you tried to hand him the baby, "Come on now love, you can't just avoid holding them forever" you said to him as of it was a life or death situation.

Hesitantly letting you guide him through the proper way to hold them, he felt his breath hitch at the sound of cooing. The first time the baby opened it's eyes, the first thing they saw being their dad.

The moment he looked at the baby sealed it, he was going to protect them their whole life, he would go as far as feeling all the guilt of having blood on their hands again if it meant your baby would be protected and cared for.

The baby was so small that it's little head was practically the size of his palm, he didn't know initially what to do when the baby cried and shocked himself when he managed to make them stop.

Once the baby was old enough to crawl, he'd let the baby crawl all over him. The little one babbling non-sense while he just chuckled and replied as if he understood what the baby was saying. Gods be damned if he misses an important milestone such as their first word or their first time walking.

You'd often wake up to seeing him shirtless snoozing on the couch, the tv playing only ads for home appliances late at night while the baby only in a diaper having skin to skin contact with their dad, his huge hand big enough to support the little one from falling.

He almost cried the first time your baby reached for his face an touched it, resting it's tiny little fingers on his cheek, giving him a gummy smile. His little one unaware that they just healed something they never broke.

He NEVER wants to ever see your little one grow up, though sure it makes more memories with them, sometimes they just wish time stops for a second so they can enjoy the moment longer.

Initially was terrified that he'd pass his trauma down but he realized that wouldn't be possible and he will NOT ever let them go through what he did.

Eventually chose to resign from his work because the risk was far too much, what if he died? He'd leave you and your child to grieve over him? He won't be there for them growing up and he'd miss everything.

Sure he's worked most his life to get where he is now but nothing is ever worth more than spending a lifetime with you and your child together. He's been lonely almost all his life until he met you.

You are his family, his everything. He promised that whatever happens, he'll crawl home to you...

i love the start of this. both dieter and bell have excellent characterization and the conversations being had by every character feel so real and are so important. bell's group of friends all sound like friends i would have, and i would love to hang out with them. i love the direction this is going!

ahh what a delightful little fic! it feels very much like an early 2000s rom com and i mean that in the best way! very cute and i love the vibes. everyone's characterization is great and i can't wait to sink my teeth into the rest of it!

completely obsessed with this concept. i love a good enemies to lovers and this is such an awesome way to do it! i always see marcus m fics featuring someone without superpowers, but to have a character that's just as powerful as him? sign me up!

@kedsandtubesocks - In the Dead of the Night (Din x f!reader)

one of my absolute favorite din fics. the worldbuilding and din's creature form is incredible. i love a horror au that's flipped on its head. i also love the "creature is also the hunter" trope and this does that incredibly well. the atmosphere is off the charts.

@ghostofaboy - Rock Bottom (Frankie x original male characters)

god, i don't even know where to begin with this story. it's so raw and visceral and i can't say enough how much i enjoy it. i love reading something new and especially if it's coming from a male perspective. this is, unfortunately, something i could see frankie getting up to. frankie is such a deeply tragic character and this fic does that justice in a dark, but really intriguing way.

ohh this is such a sweet fic. i love the imagery painted and the dynamic between marcus and reader is so sweet!

this fic is beyond sweet and so dreamy. the ideal scenario for anyone, in my humble opinion. who wouldn't want to take pictures of handsome fbi agents and then fall in love with said agent?

THIS WAS THE CUTEST DAMN THING. i love me a nervous frankie (hello, have you read my fic lmao) and this was by far one of the cutest. i'm obsessed with reader's confidence and i just know those two are gonna be menaces once they're together. throw in some patsy cline and i am a goner. this is going on the reread list for sure.

@insomniamamma - Remain Nameless (Ezra & Cee w/ gn!reader)

ok, this one actually made me cry. i'm not sure if it's my own sleep-deprived ass that caused it but this is probably one of the most beautiful but sad fics i've read in a long time. i mean all of this in the best way because i don't normally get emotional from fics. prospect as a movie makes me emotional, though, so it doesn't surprise me that this did as well. it's such an incredible missing scene that i can, unfortunately, see absolutely happening. have some tissues nearby.

@sweetercalypso - Unlikely Friends (Joel x gn!reader)

this fic is one of my absolute favorite fics for joel. a big reason for that is i have a cat named tilly. and imagining joel reluctantly and grumpily cuddling with my tilly makes me emotional, ok??

@softstarlite - The Casualty of Love (Javi P x f!reader)

very cute! i love the awkward tension around not seeing someone for so long and there being a huge glow up maturity-wise from one of them! seeing someone in a new light is always a strange thing and i love the start to these two and their journey!

@julesonrecord - Shots (Jack x f!reader/oc)

probably one of the best post-movie fics i've ever read for jack. the way jack's trauma and therapy is handled is so fucking brilliant and tonic is one of the best fucking characters, god. eva is written so well and i just. i can't recommend this fic enough. if you like jack, hell even if you don't, give this fic a shot. i promise you'll come out of it liking it.

goddd this was so cute! dieter's insecurities don't come up very often and i absolutely love what a match he and reader make. she's so sweet with him and takes such good care of him. and he loves her so much and i love them ok

@max--phillips - A Little Lipstick Never Hurts (Max P x f!reader)

this is one of the best explorations into kink that i've ever read. it's so respectful and hot as fuck. completely obsessed with this take on max as a character and i can't get enough of the dynamic between him, reader, (and eventually dieter). it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but i highly encourage you to give it a try. max gets some well deserved lessons taught, and who doesn't love that?

god, this was so fucking hot. i'm so here for a mentally healed maxwell in a healthy marriage with a fulfilling sex life lol the little bit of teasing on both their parts was beyond sexy and i loved how equal everything felt. ugh, will be rereading this one for sure.

i'm obsessed with a no nonsense reader with just as much attitude/sass as javi does lol i just kept reading going GET HIS ASS. an excellent start to a universe i'm excited to sink my teeth into!

oh, this is dark. i love the vibes immediately. i've had a weird fascination with the mafia for most of my life and this has that air about it. a dark, chubby mob boss!frankie is right up my alley for sure. i love that he's still frankie tho. sensible, practical, but with an edge. mind the warnings.

ahhh so romantic and so tragic!! i swear, it's impossible to make javi unappealing but this fic is just so sweet and manages to make me love him even more (somehow). but i love the added drama and tension from outside forces!! i need to read the rest of it asap!

my god, i love this?? i'm not usually one for superpowers/soulmate au's but i'm in love with the practicality of this? it feels otherworldly without being too much and it's very grounded. i love the reader and the way tim is written is so believable. i love that we as a fandom have created such a visceral image of this character from only a minute's worth of footage!

Did you take inspiration for Karen's last from the FNaF trilogy? I was reading The Twisted Ones and there's a guy named Officer Dunn

Nah, not consciously, though I have read FNaF:TSE and remember the character. I'd honestly believe it was the case though if I didn't happen to remember the exact process that caused me to end up with the surname. It'd be out of character for me to base a DT character name off a fictional character (real world names are fair game/referenced in many names in DT!)

I kinda wanted to give a main character a surname that's also a colour to reference the fact that the main datables have consistent palettes and a nod to the fact that DT uses colour theory all over the game (with grouped colour themes/vibrant weird palettes on different screen bgs.) Hell, it's basically a trope in fiction to give characters surnames based on colours that correspond to (or suit) them somehow, take Walter White and Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad, say, a show that goes p ham with its colour theory (namely consistently incorporating it into names/costume design.) Anyway, i briefly considered 'Cyan' as Randy's surname (bc cyan is the base colour for teal, which is the colour of Randy's head, and cygnus means swan, which contains several of the same letters) but, the word 'cyan' is fairly commonly mispronounced by people who've never heard it said aloud (and when people do say the word right, they still sometimes tend to switch which syllable is stressed, at least in my experience hearing people say it) and I figured Randy deserved a surname that everyone can read the same way first time. The poor guy has enough confusion going on in his life without people misreading his name!

So, I brainstormed a colour based surname for Karen (already having most of the others decided at this point afaik), with the aim of maybe using an autumnal colour to match her palette (orange, beige, cream, brown) and then decided to look up 'surnames that mean colours' and voila, 'Dunn' came up on a long list, derived from 'donn', irish gaelic for brown. Also, sounds like 'done'. Like "so, so done." Relates to a colour in her palette (her printer head is brown) and there's a separate pun built in that suits her dilemma (working a job she HATES.) It was a no-brainer for sure.

Y'know, funnily enough, this isn't even the first time I've seen people assume I lifted a DT character name from FNaF. Hell, I've seen folks theorize that I lifted Marla's (Callum Crown's deceased + (formerly) long-suffering wife) name from the identically named character in that very same FNaF novel series, when I actually picked it bc the name is a variant of Marlene, which is in turn derived from Mary Magdalene from biblical canon.

There's biblical symbolism in DT's canon surrounding Crown and his inner circle (y'know, with the whole failed messiah schtick + him helping the disabled walk again with his prosthetics) and Marla's name is an extension of it. Magdalene is notable in biblical canon for being the one woman Jesus consistently traveled with (y'know, like Marla, the one woman in Crown's (quite typically) male-dominated cabinet) and also the fact that Magdalene was allegedly the first to witness Jesus' empty tomb post-resurrection... Marla wound up with sole custody of Crown's husk right after his accident. Both ended up with first dibs on the (now vacant) space their old messiah/former companion once filled. Brutal.

hear me out. i know sam isn't written to be bad for the alt feminist team, it's just that the ppl writing her didn't know what that team actually looks like. but it's important to me that she at least starts out that way if you wanna retool her character arc

i'm sure there are 14-year-olds out there that are embracing alt subculture and feminism for the right reasons, but i've worked with kids in that age group before. it's so so so often a thing, especially for white kids from financially stable homes with increasingly unsupervised internet access, where they've got so much passion and exactly zero experience. they can't go to protests or be in nonprofits unless their parents already are (they're usually not), they have rose-colored ideas of what direct action looks like, they're identity-driven. they don't know who marsha p. johnson or ibram x. kendi or sacheen littlefeather or gilbert baker are. they believe conspiracy theories. they're all getting their information solely from whatever crosses their instagram feeds, so some things they unify on but most things they're painfully chronically online about (i had to break up a fight between two kids about pan discourse once). they look and act very much like how sam does: loud, pushy, single-minded and obnoxious.

so it feels realistic to me if sam's whole deal comes across as immature, as long as she's understood by whoever's writing her. her frame of reference for the world is so small at this point in her life. none of us popped out the womb informed & eloquent – it would be nice to see that reflected in good faith.

I mean even before Dahlia, how lonely he should've been to always care abt and then chase after this one guy who stood up for him in 4th grade? Where his first motivation (to save Miles) coming from, I think this question is a bit unexplored in the fandom, besides the idea that Phoenix is just that altruistic and kind person. I mean he is kind, but there's gotta be roots in his childhood maybe

Also, you're right that it does feel a lot more personal than most of his other outbursts b/c of the language mirroring his own note...ough man is not okay during that whole trial huh...

Haha I think Phoenix's life before the games was completely unremarkable? I'm p sure the creators at some point said something to that effect and tbh I think it's the best interpretation for him. Because it would make more sense if he had some sort of trauma/big event but nope he's just Like That. Man is just Deranged and it's so funny honestly love that for him.

Also I love the idea of him being A Normal Guy through childhood - law school. He had a decent social circle and keeps moderately in touch with his friends after graduation through text/group chats. His law school/college group chats aren't really active but the people in it will text each other once every few months or whenever something big happens to someone. It's low-key and normal and all his friends are like yeah Phoenix. He's just a Nice Guy.

Then ofc one day he's all over the news for fucking CX'ing a bird in court and publicly exposing one of the top prosecutors in the district. All his friends are stunned. They start following his legal career and they're all slowly coming to the same conclusion that Phoenix was Actually That Crazy the entire time. And the worst part about all of this is, looking back, they're also realizing that there were definitely hints. For example, in law school he was a p mediocre student except when he Aggressively Wasn't and would just seemingly wander off and book a class. Or in college there was that time he got REALLY into that girl and then disappeared for a weekish and never mentioned her again. (His college friends thought it was a rocky break up. They are now realizing it was b/c he was on trial for murder what the fuck Phoenix.) Or in high school he got weirdly into Legally Blonde but everyone just thought he was being a theater kid and was excited that the musical had come out. But Phoenix always seemed like such a normal guy that none of his friends thought that deeply about it and now they are and well fuck.

So they DM him in their group chats and his response is completely normal too. Phoenix sees nothing weird about what he's been doing oh and how are the children Susie? He's perfectly friendly, just like they remember, and seems to think nothing of how off the rails his legal career's gone. That's when everyone finally acknowledges he is really the craziest person they know (and maybe make a separate GC to discuss What The Fuck Is Phoenix Doing Now).

Hope that made sense! I do like thinking about how "normal" Phoenix was for years - it makes the unhinged shit he does later so much funnier and I think really fits with his character? And thanks for all the asks (also sorry it takes me so long to get to these; I've just been kinda busy)!! Lmao love any opportunity to talk about how Unwell Phoenix actually is. <3

J2 Main Panel Chicon 2022

It's been a while since I've seen the boys this playful, and since I've laughed so much during a panel- this was an hour of classic j2, they kept making jokes, teasing and bantering with one another. I would highly reccomend giving the panel a watch because there's a lot of little jokes and banter that I wasn't able to put in this recap.

It starts right from the beginning with some classic j2, they go to jump into questions but it gets derailed when they start bantering about left and right 😂

First question! What’s something they haven’t done yet that they wanna do? Jared says turn 40. But his serious answer is that he’s pretty happy with what he’s got going on, he does once again mention that he’d like to do a project with Jensen where their characters see each other and do a double or triple take. Jensen says he'd like to do the reboot of spn then he makes a joke that someone backstage told him he’s the most secretive of the group and he can’t say how much that meant to him, and from there it’s like 2 or 3 pun jokes after the other 😂

When SPN gets rebooted, what is their dream plot for the first season? Jared says flashback episodes; Jensen says he has thought of one idea which is to treat it like True Detective and have the brothers solve one big case for 10-12 episodes and have that be it. This is a pretty good idea, motherfucker why didn’t you pitch this instead? There’s no way in hell that the mind that came up with an idea this good, also came up with the shit ass prequel and decided to pitch that instead. I'm just saying. And Jared adds that whatever the storyline is, it’s imperative that he and Jensen have the strongest hand in what it’s gonna be about. x

When did they know that pursuing acting, and music, was the right path for them? And what is their advice around following that path and knowing it’s the right one? Jared says still not yet, and he hopes not ever. He’s found himself interested in questioning himself lately, not in the self doubt way but more wondering what else is out there, what are other things he might try and have fun with; he wants to remain curious, it’s a big world and he hopes he gets to explore it. Interesting answer.

And Jensen concurs, he says he too doesn’t know if he’s on the right path or that he’s doing what he’s supposed to be doing because he’s continued to be curious about a lot of things but he does know that what he’s doing is fulfilling and he’s grateful for it. He doesn’t want to stop moving, and if he can fill his life with interests that are fulfilling that’s what he strives for; the magic ticket is having those things that are fulfilling and finding a way to get paid for it. Very insightful answers on both their parts. x

The next question comes from a fan named Jensen so of course the boys have some fun with that especially when they find out the dude’s last name starts with a P so he’s both Jensen and JP; and his question is what’s their most embarrassing moment? Jared mentions he’s been on TMZ a couple of times although he’s not sure embarrassing is the right word for those moments or if humiliating or shameful is better. He’s grateful phones didn’t exist when he was in highschool- he’s human, there’s a couple of takebacks that he’d like but he’s learned from each one and they’ve made him a better person.

Jensen says he has a lot of examples but he’ll give a recent moment; his first day on The Boys set was to film the scene where Soldier Boy comes out of the cryogenic chamber and all he had on was a robe which he had to take off to go into said chamber. So, when he steps out, it’s him standing in front of cast members and crew who he just met and all that’s shielding them from seeing Jensen in all his glory is a sock.

Jared asks him who he was pointing at, Jensen says himself and I literally choked because these men are so dirty 😂

What’s something they fear? Jared automatically says bears, if one walked in there he’d be gone; Jensen mentions to him a story he saw online about a bear that was chasing two little moose and the big moose chases him off and wins, and they have some banter as Jensen tries to figure out what kind of bears and why it is that Jared fears them- all of them, except maybe Koalas cause those are cute. Jensen says that as weird as it may sound considering where they are he has a fear of crowded places, says he was at the DMV recently getting his kids passports renewed and as it started filling up he just kept staring at the door. x

After years of playing characters that did the right thing but were on the wrong side of the law, how has it been to play new characters that have them put on the badge? For Jared, the way he approaches Sam and Walker is that they’re both flawed humans who try to do the right thing as they understand it, and sometimes that manifests itself not perfectly but they acknowledge their mistakes and try to do more good than bad. For Jensen, he’s still figuring out the character of Beau but he says that in the case of Dean he did a lot of good the wrong way or did the wrong things for the right reasons, and he likes characters like that who may not do things the legal way but they do it for the right reason; and that’s something he’d like to bring to the character he’ll be playing on Big Sky. x

The next question is asked by a fan who’s a mental health therapist who works primarily with families and children, and they wish to know how it would go if they were to conduct a therapy session with Sam and Dean? Jensen says Dean would be up and gone in like 30 seconds. Jared thinks that if the session was done individually, she’d (the therapist) probably get more done so do a few of those first before getting into past family trauma; but the boys love each other so they’d want each other to get healthy physically and mentally.

Out of curiosity Jensen asks the fan what it is that she’d do with a client like Dean that’s not willing to open up and share, does she have to wait for them to come around or are there tools of the trade that she can use to make him want to share. Fan replies that she goes at the pace of the client, so she’s had sessions where she has sat in complete silence for 45mins to an hour until the kid felt comfortable enough to start speaking. x

Continuing on, is there anything they wish Sam and Dean had gotten to do that they didn’t? Jensen says a real vacation. That’s something the brothers never truly got to have because even when they were trying to have a break something would follow them; that it would have been interesting to see not just what they did to blow off steam, celebrate a win or pass the time but to see them actually take a load off and relax. Personally, I too would have loved to have seen that.

Jared agrees, he says that was part of the fun of the beginning of the finale was getting to see the boys doing laundry, and folding their clothes and such that it might not be super interesting for television to see Sam and Dean doing nothing but it would be fun to see who they are when they don’t have to take the weight of the world on their shoulders. x

If they could have any type of show about a passion of theirs or something they’d love to explore what would it be about? Jared answers that during the pandemic he got into reading about the most haunted places in America and he’s always wanted to go and see some cause he’s fascinated by it so he’d love to go see some haunted places. Jensen says that it’s funny Jared would say that because he has something in development right now that’s along those lines and he keeps meaning to share, and needs to tell Jared about it cause he thinks it’s something that would be fun to do but he doesn’t go into details as to what his idea is because it might turn into an actual future project. x

What has it been like working with new groups of people, and in new locations? Jensen says it’s definitely different, walking unto the new sets compared to what it was like to walk unto the spn one. That it’ll never feel like how it did with the spn set because he doubts that he and Jared will be doing another show for 15yrs and even if Walker did go on for that long what they built on the spn set was unique, it was lightning in a bottle; walking unto that set was like walking into a warm hug, and he misses that terribly. At a difference walking into new sets is like walking into somebody else’s house, it’s fun and different and there’s new friendships to be made- it’s like starting in a new school.

Jared concurs, he also adds that with spn he and Jensen weren’t producers in name but they were very involved in protecting the characters, the storyline. They were also in charge of setting the tone on set which is something they took very seriously. He also mentions that the thing with their respective prequels is that they’re not gonna be on set everyday or even every week, their job is done through a lot of Zoom meetings and checking over script notes so they’re not really going to be there for the in person part of it which will be interesting and different since that’s not something they’ve done before. x

What’s their best dad joke? Jensen goes first. He shares a dad joke he recently made to JJ: When you walk into the bathroom you’re an American. When you walk out of the bathroom you’re an American. But when you’re in the bathroom European. Jared does three because it’s dad jokes what did y’all expect when you open a door like that; first a different version of Jensen’s: On your way to the bathroom you’re Russian. In the bathroom European. On your way out you’re Finnish. Second: I can row a boat, canoe? And the classic steak and kiddley pie: Guy walks into a butcher shop and asks for a steak and kiddle pie. Butcher is confused and tells the guy he just asked for a steak and kiddley. Guy replies, no I diddle-i.

These jokes are so stupid but God I love these goofballs so much!

The fan who asked the question has a pretty good one. Have you heard the one about the roof? It’s over your head. x

What’s the most shocking scene they’ve seen in one of their new projects? The fan didn’t even really finish asking this question cause both Jensen and Jared say The Boys 😂

Jensen, once again, gleefully mentions making Jared see the first s3 ep on the plane; he also mentions how seeing a certain scene that happens in that ep at the premiere in Paris on a giant movie screen was jarring and horrifying. I said this in my Gold panel recap post, but I’ll repeat it here just in case, if you have not seen the episode and you don’t watch The Boys but are curious about the scene in question be aware that it is extremely graphic, it contains gore, nudity, and a sexual situation.

And Jared strongly agrees that that is the most shocking scene he's seen. x

How do they think their characters would do in an escape room, and what other characters do they think would have done great in an escape room? Dean would get frustrated very quickly and probably try to go through the drywall which is not too different from what Jensen would do; Sam would do well but Jared thinks he would get so interested in figuring out the puzzle that he would take too long which is kinda like what he would do. x

What is their favorite comfort food? Jared can’t resist the opportunity for a good pun…”as cheesy as it sounds, queso.” Oh, Jared 😆I love Jensen’s reaction, he knew what Jared was gonna say just from the way he said cheesy and says that when Jared tells a joke that has substantial build up it’s very difficult for him to get through it because he starts laughing miles before the punchline. Eventually, they do give legit answers: saltines and some chicken noodle soup for Jared, fried chicken for Jensen. x

Question for Jensen, did he have a favorite character on The Boys before he was cast, and if not does he have a new one now? Jensen says Butcher is so good, and he loves what Karl does with the character but he really likes Frenchie; especially now that he knows the actor who plays him, Tomer Capon, because he’s so good and does so much with the character, even when he doesn’t need to be doing anything he’s always doing something, and Jensen finds that fascinating from an actors perspective.

I learned something new with Jensen’s answer, I was not aware that Tomer Capon is not in fact French but Israeli. And apparently he doesn’t even speak French. I would have never guessed that. x

Do either of them actually speak fluid Latin? Jared took Latin in high school for SAT prep so it wasn’t unknown to him (or as he puts it, it wasn’t complete Greek to him) but he doesn’t speak it, he probably does remember some of it though and he imagines they could both re-memorize it. Jensen says Jared got more of the heavy lifting in the Latin department, but whenever he would have to do it he’d turn to Jared for help on how to say the words. x

And last but not least, the final question of the panel is: If Sam and Dean were to go into the empty and talk to the entity that rules the Empty, what accents would they use? Listen they have a lot of fun with the question and start joking around and doing accents so I’m not gonna even try to recap that I’m just gonna leave y’all the timestamp. x

And that was the main panel, personally I really enjoyed it the questions were pretty good and honestly how can I not enjoy seeing my boys so full of joy and playfulness.

oh man i had so much fun with brainstorming this stuff back when i made Our Love Is Here To Stay. will constantly be referring back to this fic as i talk about them

Will - I made him kinda showboaty and full of himself in my fic lol, but also i feel like that's kinda true about his character, from what i remember off the top of my head. Also weird vibes. Like, once, when I was a teen, I think I dreamt that he had a crush on me and wanted me to date him instead of Lance? So I kiiiiiindaaa very subtly snuck that into the background lore of the fic. I think Riya was the only one I've told that to so far, outside of whenever I probably posted that on my devart journal when it first happened lol?. Basically, he's just Lance's coworker to me.

Bruno - Love this guy, or well, the way he came out in the fic. Basically kinda borrowed a smidge from pokemas' direction with his character, but also the idea that he's also one of those cheerful loudboxes with how often he shouts HOO-HAH! or something :p Canonically, I don't think he'd be as big of a softie as I wound up writing him, but it was too funny not to think about him being like that. He's always very nice and sweet with me and greets everyone loudly. He was also the one who won all the betting pools on when Lance and I would date/propose/etc. Everyone overthought it, he just synthesized gossip info from the pokecen/league employees. He's kinda like that boisterous loud uncle who would also get very serious if someone tried to hurt you? But mostly we just enjoy having Pokemon battles together a lot and sometimes he shares his food with me if I'm waiting for Lance at the Pokemon League.

Karen - I love Karen!!!! I forget where the hell I got the idea that she was canonically a model/fashionista of some sort, but you can't tell me that's a wrong headcanon to have. She's that work bestie-in-law kinda thing except it's my husband's work but my bestie when i go there. She'll share devious little secrets about Lance with me, especially in the early/dating years, though by now there's less she could share that I wouldn't already know/believe. She still tells me when he's done something embarrassing (for him) and then I get to just later be like "So, honey... about <redacted event>?" "I really wish Karen didn't catch that =_="

When Lance and I were first dating/almost dating, she was very supportive and helpful for basic dating/beauty/appearance tips. c: She also sometimes envies us, because she hasn't had a lot of long-term relationships that worked out because of her position/goals/life ambitions and beliefs.

Koga - embarassing old man co-worker that you tease your husband about him becoming. Koga and I have battled enough, from when he was originally a Gym Leader and again after his promotion to the E4, that he respects me as a Pokemon Trainer. But it took awhile for him to start seeing me as a grown-up adult from when I most battled him as a kid and teen. We have a fairly amicable relationship overall, as far as the coworker vs coworker's wife dynamic goes. He's this cool but sometimes embarrassingly out of touch old guy I know and I'm some person who can help translate his teenage daughter's mysterious ways!

Thank you so much for asking about them! I absolutely love getting to talk about them whenever I can on a meta level bc of the fic I wrote, bc I went from being like "yeah sure they're characters may as well include them" to "this is my husband's squad of coworkers and everyone in this group is embarrassing to each other in some way shape or form."

i'm sorry in advance that i'm sending you this wall of text. but i've been rereading and rewatching the yorknew arc that now i have /so/ many thoughts on how the succession war arc could mirror and contrast the former wrt the phantom troupe that i wanted to share. also i love reading your hxh theories and meta, they have really helped me gain a better understanding of the characters and themes of hxh. feel free to ignore this tho if it's too much.

when the troupe are gathering to yorknew they remark that it's the first time in years that all members have been together. they also mention that two of their members have been replaced. i think that when they finally gather on tier 1 after several weeks on the black whale two of their members will have been killed.

which members? well back in yorknew chrollo did not send the following members to infiltrate the underground auction: pakunoda, hisoka, kortopi, phinks and bonolenov. on tier 1 the first three won't be part of the mission for obvious reasons, but once again phinks and bono will be absent bc they are already dead.

at the auction franklin and shizuku are the only ones shown killing people (feitan and uvo torture info out of that poor security guard but that's all offscreen). after reaching tier 1 those two will be killed. symbolically franklin is the voice of reason and helps to settle disputes while shizuku cleans up their messes so their deaths would further destabilize the group. tho if shizuku really does die then i hope togashi will never touch machi bc it'd suck of all the female members were killed.

chrollo will again attempt to get close to the heir of a powerful family who has a future based hatsu (neon/tserri) but will fail either bc he'll be unable to gain tserri's trust and/or bc tserri's nen beasts can sense chrollo's intent and attack him.

the ten dons sent the shadow beasts to prevent the pt from stealing the treasures but ultimately they were killed by uvo. in contrast the guardian spirit beasts will succeed in protecting their princes from the pt (my predictions are basically just the pt taking Ls one after the other lmao)

after kurapika finds out that the pt are on the black whale he will confront chrollo but instead of a deathmatch he will strike a deal. in yorknew kurapika was hired as a bodyguard to protect neon from threats and was collaborating with hisoka against the troupe. now kurapika will strike a deal with the pt to help him guard oito and wobble, in exchange he will help the pt find hisoka.

i've seen the theory that nobunaga will want to fight kurapika since he was the most upset about uvo's death. but it think it's interesting that during the hostage situation nobu was willing to follow kurapika's orders to keep chrollo alive. it was phinks and feitan who were opposed to following kurapika's orders. so when kurapika approaches the pt with his proposal i think nobu will agree to it if it's benefical to the troupe while it's feitan who will protest the most.

chrollo will have a rematch with hisoka. he'll probably have assistance from at least one of the spiders, after all he was only able to beat hisoka the first time with help from shalnark and kortopi. most likely machi since she seems to have the strongest connection to hisoka out of the pt. but before chrollo and machi can land the killing blow illumi will intervene and save hisoka's life.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It is entirely possible this arc will mirror Yorshin to an extent, even if I am not sure of the details!

Similarly, I think Kurapika and Chrollo might be forced to form an alliance, even if I don't know how it comes to be. And I agree about wanting something for Hisoka and Illumi, even if I am expecting it to be fucked up :P

In short, I agree with the general idea you have, but I am not sure of the details or if it will mirror Yorshin in such a precise way :)

Nat 20: What's the most memorable RP scene you've been a part of?

The saga of the Naked Spice Orc is legendary amongst my group! Basically, I was playing Kenku Bard named Strum, and one of our tablemates was playing an Orc Paladin named Felzak. Our characters did not get along at first, and the first part of the game was filled with (in-character) sniping at each other and bickering.

Anyway, this story is long and twisting. Because of my character setting fire to a bandit encampment we were held captive in, Felzak's armor (which was taken from him when we were captured) melted. The gold he found ransacking the place (which the DM intended as compensation for his armor) ALSO melted because Felzak insisted on going back for his armor, which by now was a fused sheet of metal. This didn't improve relations between our characters and left him with basically nothing to wear.

Maddened by rage, Felzak decided he knew exactly who was behind the bandits and the larger criminal enterprise we were investigating; a Gnomish spice merchant who had nothing to do with any of it. Because of the aforementioned lack of clothes, once we escaped he marched right back to the man's storehouse, Felzak blundered through his storage getting himself covered in spice and nothing else, and publicly accused the gnome of something he didn't do. Ballsy move, we might say.

Later that night, defeated and exhausted, our party stopped at an inn, where the proprietor asked Felzak whether or not I was his slave (Kenkus often being slaves in this universe) and, if so, if he would rent me to the bar to play for a while. Felzak consented to this and I was stuck at the bar for a while.

Anyway, I got my revenge. When Felzak and I locked eyes across the bar, I decided to introduce to the patrons my newest epic song; the Ballad of the Naked Spice Orc. The DM asked me to do a performance roll, and I got a nat 20, which was good enough not only to entrance the audience but also to get the song spread throughout the entire realm. We kept hearing it played in bars for the rest of that campaign, in increasingly distant and unlikely locales... and later on in whole other campaigns and universes. Somehow.

THAT is the story of the Ballad of the Naked Spice Orc.

Vibe: How does your character get along with the party? Does your group talk about party dynamics outside the game?

Currently I'm playing a Warlock named V who I decided to play as, basically, Odin from God of War if he was actually a nice guy. But preserving all the obsessive knowledge seeking. He pledged himself to an eldritch god seeking to be corporeal on this plane once more, in return for the knowledge to save his kingdom from a Fae spell.

He gets along fairly well with the other characters. Sometimes he tries to be a peacekeeper during what seems to be a growing rift between some of our party. Unfortunately, almost every session a new part of his body is transmuted into yellow glass after a horrific vision of the underbelly of reality and a new eldritch god has taken an interest and started playing tug of war with the first one for his soul, so sometimes it's difficult to keep the "nice uncle" vibe going. :D

Skill: Do you prefer RP, combat, or something else? Is there a part of the game you consider yourself best at?

Oh RP for sure! Combat sometimes runs the risk of getting boring for me unless there's something really intense happening. Like, borderline party wipe intense. Mabel Pines called it "Homework: the Game" or something and while I don't *agree* with that, when I'm bogged down in combat I kind of start to see where she's coming from :P

I've been gravitating away from magic casters lately partially because of that; I don't like all the bookkeeping. If I must fight, I like to be able to just point at an enemy and go, "Yeah, I hit that with my hammer."

He suits actions to words, sliding the pointer over to double click the file. The player opens, and then he’s looking at an image of you climbing into Frankie’s lap.

There's been something I've been thinking about for a while now with how fandom wank has grown into a monster that has begun to hurt more and more people in very real ways and one of those topics (only one. I want to say that because there are SO many factors that go into social politics in general and I can't speak for ALL of them. So please don't come in here with 'well what about-' No. I'm only talking about this single one.)

There's been a lot more talk about adults (I would say 20+ as far as that goes) reading/writing fanfiction that is based on teens/young adults (13-14 to 19-20) and how it's obviously a bad thing somehow and that is how people know you're a p/do or know you're a bad person somehow.

And I want to say something that I haven't really heard anyone talk about before but what it really feels like to me is going on.

Most often (I say most often because there are always going to be bad people in every demographic. You cannot take a group of people and find that everyone in that group are 100% good people. That's just how life is and it's up to you to keep yourself safe and learn how to set boundaries.) people are just...people. They are nuanced and layered and have have varying arrays of trauma and issues that they too go through their own life. There's culture and family environments that are different and depending on the age you are, your life experiences are going to be different too.

The life experience part is what I want to really talk about as far as Fandom goes. When adults (20+) read/write fiction about Teens/Young Adults (13-20), most often the reason isn't about them being a teen that is the main desire of reading/writing. The main desire is to read about First Experiences.

And what I mean by first experiences is that as you grow up, you experience firsts in your life that once experienced, you will never get that same feeling as the first time.

You can fall in love many times, but there's nothing like that first love, that first experience of falling head over heals for the crush you have who you fear to talk too because you might make a fool of yourself. That first experience of stepping foot out into the real world and feeling like this is your oyster. The first experience of sneaking away with friends or doing something taboo while your heart beats rapidly in your chest because it's fun.

For me specifically, those are the feelings I'm looking to get when I write/read stories about these younger characters. Sure, you can write a 25 year old who never fell in love before, but there comes a baggage with age that you don't have as a teen. With age, that 25 year old character who's never had sex or never fallen in love before gets a stigma placed on their shoulders by society. They grow insecurities that teens don't experience until their grown.

There's a layer of outward influence that gets placed on adults as they get older and hit different stages in their lives that things no longer effect you the same way as they would before, as they would if you were still fresh minded and unaffected by the needs of adulthood.

It's not about their age, it's just about the way you can experience things at that age that's different and nostalgic.

!!! ok here we go :D

1) what would their social media page/activity be like: i've discussed this w/ a friend but i think denmark is the most technologically capable after sweden! i think on twitter he's a little more professional (but he loves rting feel-good stuff) BUT he shines on insta. it's full of artsy pictures of the danish countryside and embarrassing videos of him and his friends on his stories :,)

2) what animal they remind me of: i don't care that it's predictable that man is a puppy!!!! manga denmark is a golden retriever but anime denmark is a yippy chihuahua with that fucking voice

3) my thoughts on their design/aesthetic alone: LOVE!! i think his canon outfit is really nice compared to.... whatever the other four are doing!! his hair is dumb but it's dumb /affectionate /i love him

4) physical headcanons: i got a few! he's an early bird!! and a light sleeper. physique-wise he's the second tallest nordic and he has BIG ass arms (an axe was his main weapon so!! makes sense to me!) he has a huge sweet tooth + he loves pastries!! but his favourite is whatever norway bakes because he's a softie :) as for actual food.... this man survives on sandwiches hot dogs and beer. get well soon x

5) social headcanons: denmark is the nordic with the most friends outside of the group!! finland comes close, because everyone loves finland and he has estonia & hungary, but i think denmark's outside friendships are more involved! a strip that really stuck with me is one during the denmark-norway period, where he goes to the netherlands and asks him to give him the buddy price on weaponry and ned agrees despite how he usually is :,) within the group, i see him as having an older-brother-but-kinda-dad relationship with iceland. sweden and him are close now and they're just the brothers who had a fallout but now r coping by insulting themselves jokingly (only when they're a few drinks in sometimes it's not a joke). he and fin only became close in later centuries but their personalities are super compatible so they're great friends!! and he and norway... oughghhg you're talking to dennor lover #1 here HAH to me they've been basically on-and-off in love for 1100 years or so :,) i'll go more into it in a future post so i'll stop here but!! yeah!!

6) psychological headcanons: i feel like i covered most of this in my denmark analysis!! but hm yeah for me his greateast fear is for sure isolating his family again. and despite how carefree he acts, i think he weighs his decisions very carefully because of what happened in the past when he didn't. i think he's actually really good with dealing with anger in modern day (he's had a lot of practice) but he regrets how he used to be before. speaking of before!! i love to think abt him from the viking era to approximately the late 1500s just... cocky bloodthirsty denmark is really fun to explore and i think people should play it up more instead of making him p much as sweet as in modern times! i dont think he wouldve been anything like that to anyone but his family and own people (also animals btw this guy loves animals 100%)

7) ship(s) with them that i like or at least consider: in terms of like... my version of canon i'm a dennor soloshipper i think :,) BUT i find denmark/norway/finland/sweden fun to think about!! also denmark/estonia is a rarepair i think is veryvery cute. and some classic nedden never hurt anyone!

8) made-up connections with other characters that weren't in the canon (friends, enemies, whatever): yes!! estonia as i just mentioned! he was danish land once and he's a nordic fanboy now so they have to have some kind of relationship! also prussia; i know they do have the whole awesome trio thing going on, BUT i think historical denmark & prussia is not spoken about enough. the 2 were on the same side all the time back then!! finally i find it really funny if he and poland get on each others nerves HAH again because of historical reasons!

9) headcanons about their past: again covered a lot of these already but!! here's one that's a little different. denmark was the first to become christian, and i think he would've annoyed the fuck out of norway and sweden (who were still norse pagan) about it! sometimes it just got him exasperated eye rolls, sometimes it got him beheaded, yk how it goes

10) content about them I'd like to see more of: anything i love denmark sosososo much more iceland & denmark content!!! i adore norway & iceland don't get me wrong but they for sure overshadow ice & dan when it comes to familial dynamics and it's a shame! also i think a lot of the historical content focuses on the viking era, the fall of the kalmar union or 1814, and i'd like to see more of him in the 1500s-1700s!! he was up to interesting stuff!!

Part 2 of the Milgram II AU!!

I've decided I'm only gonna do 3 characters per ask because it'd be better to like split up a huge wall of text into smaller walls of text lolol

Also I swear this was all random, the wheel just has a case of favoritism

Prisoner 004 - Paintbrush - A straightforward and hot headed person. They tend to get quite aggressive once they're interrogated and sometimes physically violent. Don't worry though, the warden cannot be harmed under the rules of the prison. They are close with 006 (Lightbulb) and have shaky relations with 005 (Fan), but still they hang out with him because of 006. They can be spotted with 001 (Marshmallow) and are distrustful of 010 (Cabby). Their first trial will focus on how their anger led to their crime. (Themes of fire very present)

If voted Innocent, they will be surprised. Then they would be enraged and get more violent overall. They will be less patient during interrogations. Their 2nd trial will focus more on their anger, not about their crime but about the warden's decisions overall. (I'm thinking of Fuuta but without the social justice cancelation gone wrong)

If voted Guilty, they will be shocked. Their anger will considerably be lessened and they will be more amicable when interrogated. It's as if they are now afraid of how their anger affects others. Their 2nd trial will be focused on after their anger had subsided and they were left alone to deal with the consequences of their crime.

Prisoner 005 - Fan - He is an odd and socially awkward boy. He is especially anxious during interrogations and questions about his crime or not. Although talk and discussion of his blog are exceptions to this. Despite his social ineptitude at times, he has befriended 006 and somewhat gotten along with 004 despite their outbursts. Like 004, he is also distrustful of 010. His first trial will focus on his blogging life and how it somehow relates to his crime.

If voted Innocent, he will be ecstatic and come out of his shell more. He'll be less anxious when answering questions during interrogations. However he is still reluctant to answer questions about his crime. His second trial will be about his motive for the crime albeit it'd be more discreet as his blog is still a reoccurring topic.

If voted Guilty, he will become even more anxious. He will become unresponsive at times, not even wanting to talk about his blog. If pressed too far he'll become aggressive even. His second trial will also reveal his motive although this time it is strikingly clear. (Although I won't write any songs I feel like this song would be something like 'Idol Worship' if that tells you anything about his motives)

Prisoner 006 - Lightbulb - She's quite the eccentric personality. She's not afraid to answer any question unless it's about her crime. She is the most social of the prisoners as she considers most of the fellow prisoners as her friends, with 009 (Pepper) being the only exception. She seems to have formed a friend group with 004 and 005 as she is especially close to them. Her first trial will detail her experiences of being a leader and how that somehow led to the death of her victim.

If voted Innocent, she will be relieved. She will gain more confidence. Not only that she will become more impulsive and act without even thinking for a moment. She will be extremely truthful. In her second trial, she will show her ego more and revel in her leadership. There will also be more victim blame. ("It's your fault you didn't follow my lead!" Or something along those lines)

If voted Guilty, her mood will noticeably worsen. She will become more unsure and would be reluctant to answer any questions. She's not sure what is truth or what is wrong anymore. In her second trial, she will look back on all her faults and mistakes she's made as a leader.

Anyways that's all for now sorry I didn't send this in sooner cuz I had to stop procrastinating on school work lolol. I'll work on the next batch soon ;p

- Binding of Isaac (Really like watching playthroughs of it and actually bought it and all the dlc recently! I haven't won a single time though ;-;)

- Bloons TD 6 (Much better at watching it than playing it. Favorite towers are sniper and mortar and favorite hero is the purple monkey whose name I forgor)

- Cookie Run (I play ovenbreak and kingdom. My most favorite cookies are Angel, Pilot, Vampire, Dark Enchantress, Matcha, Zombie, and Skater. I also like all the rares a lot lol)

- Cuphead (Watched multiple playthroughs of it, including the DLC, never bought it but played it with a friend)

- Danganronpa (I am not in the fandom anymore, nor do I support the problematic content in the games. I like quite a few of the characters and some fangans though, and one of my anons is a fan of it so take that as you will)

- Deltarune (My favorite characters are Berdly and Queen. Have played it and thoroughly enjoyed it)

- Dicey Dungeons (I play it on my nintendo switch. Haven't played it in a long time though. Need to get back to playing it with the free dlc that came out recently)

- Don't Hug Me I'm Scared (I've only watched the tv show and not the webseries so forgive me if I don't understand a reference from the webseries)

- Food Fantasy (I really like playing this game, though I don't really play it too much and mostly just do dailies and team up. My favorite food souls are Salty Tofu and Black Tea.)

- Friday Night Funkin (Mostly into the main game and Hex. I love Hex /p)

- Gacha Life/Club (I do not support gacha heat or any toxic gachas. I mainly use gacha club for making quick videos)

- Genshin Impact (I just play the game casually. I don't really participate in all the p2w and drama and hardcore shipping and stuff. My favorite character is Noelle and I'm a bit of a Yelan simp)

- Jackbox Games (Really fun even if I almost never win. Favorite games are Split the Room, Patently Stupid, and Guesspionage)

- Miitopia (I fucking adore this game and Tomodachi Life but I like this game more. My favorite classes are Chef, Scientist, and Tank)

- Minecraft (I don't like MCYT too much though)

- Nick Jr Shows in General (Once again, just a genuine interest)

- Pokémon (I've always been a huge fan of pokemon! My favorite pokemon is Giratina, my favorite generation is gen 9, my first game was Platinum, my favorite type is poison, and my favorite champion is Diantha bc she looks pretty)

- Project Sekai (MORE MORE JUMP is my favorite group and Nene is my favorite character)

- Roblox (Really nice. I play with my friend Gato a lot)

- Rusty Lake (I haven't played it, but I've watched playthroughs of most of the games! I really like it, despite the fact that I tend to not like horror/horror-like games. I really like Mr Crow)

- Sam & Max (Season 1 is my favorite and I may or may not have cried after watching 305)

- Super Mario (I adore all the Mario games! They're really cool! Some of my favorite characters are Bowser Jr, Birdo, Roy, Wario, Bowser, and Mario)

- Splatoon (I played the funny squid game a lot when I had nintendo switch online but not so much anymore. My favorite idol is Marina and I main bloblobber and slosher/hero slosher)

- Stardew Valley (Funny farmer game go brrr. My favorite characters are George, Evelyn, and Krobus)

- Team Fortress 2 (I just like watching the funny men in the funny ragdoll game. I main a combination of Scout, Soldier, and Pyro)

- Team Umizoomi (Once again, a genuine interest. This is my favorite nick jr show and I can ramble about it a lot and I'm pretty sure I have an attachment to it lol. I like all the characters but dislike half of their designs, my favorite characters are Squiddy, Blue Mermaid, Doormouse, and both of the Troublemakers)

- Undertale (Not as big of a fan of it as I was when I was younger, but I still like it. My favorite characters are Napstablook and Alphys)

- Yakuza (I just really like the silliness of it. Kiryu is def a really great character)

DNI:

- Basic DNI Criteria, including incest supporters, zoophiles, pedophiles/MAPs/lolicons/Whatever the fuck you guys call yourselves these days, homophobes and transphobes, and neo-nazis.

- Rape apologists/supporters. This technically falls under basic DNI but putting it separately as well because some people are fucking idiots.

- Proshippers. I block proship blogs on sight.

- IRL Shippers. (I just find it weird)

Z: Major character death-do you ever write/read it? Is there a character whose death you can't tolerate?

Eh, I don't really go looking for it. If it's temporary and hits the right emotional punches I might read it, but I've got to be in the right mood.

A: How did you come up with the title for Burnt Bananas

Hyrule is burning down the Yiga Clan, and I like alliteration

R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?

I'm not sure how much I consciously am influenced by, but I can talk about writing styles I admire. Nonfanfic answer, Andy Weir because I love the entire vibe and the way The Martian is written and presented. Fanfic answer, easily some of my favorite writers are sister, aqua, lyra, rav, enjolras, gin, quirkle, and so on and so on and so on jgfhdshk Pretty much every writer I've ever talked to, I also have a completely platonic crush on their writing because everyone has so many good ideas and fics and I'm always pushing myself to try to match their excellence

T: Any fandom tropes you can't stand?

Miscommunication for the sole purpose of making characters hate each other. Especially if it's leaving me screaming because they could get it solved so quickly if they just said two words to each other. I can admit that sometimes this can be done really well, and I have liked it on occasion, but most times it just makes me frustrated hjfdjdshk

O: How do you begin a story-with the plot, or the characters?

Plot's tied up in the character. The story would go a completely different way if I wrote it with a different character, because they would do something different. I tend to think of them simultaneously, or at least can't get started unless I have both figured out. I think for most of my ideas, they start with plot first, but that plot always comes with a character in mind.

P: Are you what George R. R. Martin would call an "architect" or a "gardener"? (How much do you plan in advance, versus letting the story unfold as you go?)

My good writing happens as an architect. If I don't have a plan or at least a basic outline when I start I will have so much trouble finishing it. Inevitably the characters will drag me on a couple detours, but having things planned out ensures I actually get to the end.

H: How would you describe your style?

Not very distinctive, I don't think. I've been told once that I write internal states of mind very well, and I like to think I can write my way through a fight scene without it being dull, so I've got those going for me. I also think I can occasionally be funny with dialogue.

S: Any fandom tropes you can't resist?

Magic, teasing and pranks and jokes, the one no one expects to be a gremlin being an absolute gremlin ("no one will believe you"), magic, "5 times x protected the group, 1 time the group protected them", did I mention magic?

K: What's the angstiest idea you've ever come up with?

Of the current things I have published, it'd probably be the one where I left Hyrule completely alone after LU? Any of my post-LU fics are honestly pretty angsty.

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

We are starting to find out that I like using fire. And electricity. A lot.
