Ok, so, my magazine arrived today. It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be, though I actually should have expected it, but it's only 21 centimeters tall.
There are pages on a few of the Milan squad, but it's all pretty interesting. I got it originally for this page:
If you read the questions, some of his answers are pretty funny. Apparently, he prefers showers, doesn't know how to do house chores, his favorite sport is Tennis (?), and his favorite song is "Kiss" by Prince. Also, those shorts...
Anyways, there are more pages on Billy, Gullit, Van Basten, Rijkard, Tassoti, Marco Simone, and some more. There is a little section for fan arts made by kids:
Fanart of Evani, Gullit, Maldini and Donadoni. The children captured Paolo's Soul glaring eyes well. Anyway, if you want to see specific pages like Gullits page or Van bastens just lmk

Maybe it's a 'study finds water is wet' type of thought, but
considering it's an action movie whose overall plot is "immortal warriors Fuck Shit Up™️", I think it's significant that in The Old Guard the thing that makes Copley pull red strings through his Murder Conspiracy Board and say "[Merrick] doesn't care what [Andy]'s done with [her immortality]" is the people they save, not the ones they kill
Most of the Conspiracy Board is him circling random newspaper headlines and faces on old photographs to (more or less realistically) follow the immortals' treck through the world and big historical events. Which is, in-canon, not much different than putting portraits from different centuries next to a picture of Keanu Reeves and saying "they look the same, clearly Reeves is an immortal!"
But then there are the connections. A little girl holding Joe's hand in WW1 becoming the youngest (and first) woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize for Medicine (suck it, Kozak). Or the grandchild of a family that Andy saved from [something] helping people escape from the Khmer Rouge genocide in Cambodia.
They are warriors. They have fought and been in the midst of countless wars, major or minor, throughout history. They must have killed as many people as they saved... and yet.
It's not them taking out a random warlord or dictator or rabidly hateful politician that has tangible repercussions in history. It's the children and families they get out of war zones, save from accidents, protect from natural disasters. People to whom they give a second chance at life, and grow to change the world (or even just their own world), like a mysterious stranger once changed theirs just by holding out a hand or patching a wound.
I don't know I just think it's particularly neat

I just impulsively filled out an adoption application for the most BEAUTIFUL tortoiseshell siamese, aptly named Zelda because the main marking on her forehead resembles a sword, and I’m really hoping I get to take her home 😭😭😭

I know it was a tense and dramatic moment and all that, but I think they lost the opportunity to show Crosshair, all stern and awkward coming out of the cargo, with Batcher trotting next to him, tongue lolling out and everything.

So, in an attempt at calming myself down I ended up drawing these two pictures
and now I'm considering taking them with me to the concert tomorrow, but I'm not sure if I really should?
I don't think I'll get the chance to give them to Jere and Häärijä and I don't know if they would even want to have them lmao

Here's Prehnite the Gemwing!
Gemwings belong to the wonderful @snaill-dragon
I loved designing her, although I did struggle with the legs a lot and I couldn't draw them like they should be.
If you have time, look up the wikipedia image for Prehnite, it's such a pretty stone.

ya know, whenever tim does finally meet lucy's parents i sincerely hope that like the gentleman he is he insists that he cooks for and host them all so i can witness him getting increasingly more upset with the way they're berating their daughter, to the point where he just can't take it anymore and practically throws their asses out, because like hell you're gonna talk to her that way, not in my house!!

Semi-continuation of this post.
I wish to discuss these scenes:
First scene: Robin and Nancy are about to escape Penhurst, and Robin rambles fact that it took her longer than most to learn to walk. Nancy is busy observing their situation and determining the best way to go.
Second scene: They had just made it to the car when Nancy says, "You really are a weird runner" in humor.
Third: A day or so later, they are in the Upside Down, and Robin has wandered ahead a bit. Cue Nancy bringing up this tidbit about Robin, again.
You may be asking why this matters. I'll tell you why. It's an example of Nancy listening. They were in middle of a stressful situation, and Nancy was also focused on planning, when Robin said that. Nancy didn't even acknowledge the words in the midst of it. One would assume she wasn't paying attention or was drowning out Robins rambles if they were annoying her. Instead, she immediately referenced it as soon as they were safe. It was an active sign that she had both heard and interalized what Robin was saying.
Now, it's one thing to respond to something right after the fact, and another entirely to remember much later. Many people can be good at pretending to pay attention when someone is talking too much. That doesn't mean that they actually take in the information you provide them. Nancy remembered.
I think I can say with full certainty that no matter how you interpreted Ronance's interactions in season 4, Nancy was listening the entire time. Not just allowing Robin to speak, but paying attention. Any irritation was never about how much she was speaking, only from the accidental insults being sent her way in the beginning.
Anyone who has a tendency to ramble or is autistic probably knows how valuable and somewhat rare it can be to find someone who is not only willing to let you speak about whatever, but actually listens to you. It's more precious than words can say. Especially if they don't already have a shared interest in the topic.
