I just remembered latte art is a thing so im putting some oc thoughts here for later for my barista ocs
-kori cant draw latte art. she stopped trying because she cant get the shapes right. She thinks others might laugh at her for it, or someone might ask for a refund, but shes probably more worried about it than anyone else.
- phecda can make good latte art. He probably makes the really fancy modern ones of mascots and anime characters. He's so humble about it that its not fair, but secretly he tries to overdo each one for the theatrics. He will deny this. He's a bad liar though.
- goodwin makes really nice traditional latte art, but only when wearing her prosthetic. If she doesnt have it, she cant tilt the cup just right. Its fine because she always wears it to work, and her good customer service brings people in anyway. Sometimes she spills coffee on it though which might be a problem bc the metal is more for aesthetics than functionality, which is to say rust is still a possible issue.
- kai is trying his best okay. he's getting there. sure his hand shakes too much and he doesnt have a frame of reference for any design that isnt something he saw in the lab, but hes TRYING, be NICE to him!!! Depending on a customer's stance on experiments, they either specifically want his attempts at latte art to be encouraging, or they would sooner take something drawn by kori and give the myrios cafe a bad review on the city's hologram app anyway.
Anyways i wanna draw this eventually but its 6am and i havent slept yet. So that will wait until tomorrow or whenever, bc i also wanna draw a cool kori art thats boucning around in my head. I'll see which comes first.

plot: niki swears he met the girl of his dreams at the convenience store late one night- however, his discovery proves to be misguided. the "girl" he likes is actually just a really pretty boy, and he's the main vocalist of the new and wildly popular boy group of four, X_CAPE.

chapter one: you had one job
yn was in a frenzy trying to find something to cover his face when he took notice of someone's gaze on him.
he'd been too preoccupied with responding to a text after escaping from the dorm window to remember to put on a face mask, only realizing with a jolt at his destination much later. if by some unfortunate circumstance dispatch managed to spot him, management (and ivory) would be furious.
now, he assumes he looks very much an idiot as he hides in a corner of the convenience store, emptying his tote bag frantically in an attempt to find anything that might better obscure his identity. complaining about his shit luck is a habit at this point, but did he really have to be proven right again? christ on a cracker, it's so difficult to always be correct.
and to make things even worse, a guy just walked into the aisle while yn was dropping random shit- oh fuck, he's staring.
i'm so screwed.
yn rushes to regain his composure, gathering his belongings hurriedly and feeling brave enough to steal a glimpse at the other teen from his crouched position. (embarrassing, but how could he resist checking him out?) the boy's ogling him with wide eyes, soft hair curling out slightly from beneath his hood. he's tall and slim, and due to the mask he's wearing yn can't gauge his expression, but if he had to guess? he'd definitely say the dude's mouth is hanging open.
well, jesus. do i look that odd?
...wait, he's cute.
not allowing his thoughts to wander for too long, yn glances back down at the ground (still half-kneeling, mind you). either the cute boy had already recognized him, or was just intensely weirded out... so, two main options for the scenario at hand. one: risk it even more, ask for a spare mask and hope for the best, or two: don't, and hope for the best.
psh, yolo.
yn bounds to his feet in an instant, boldly striding up to the bewildered boy and silently praying he made the right choice. "hey, um. do you have another mask i could use?" jesus, this man is a fucking skyscraper.
he blinks once. twice. thrice? yn shifts, rubbing the back of his neck. "it's fine if you don't-"
"no, i think i uh- i- i might have, um..." he trails off quietly, patting down his pockets and leaving yn reeling inwardly. HIS VOICE BRO?!:((#!*&!1_! "i actually do." the teen lends the shorter a mask, and yn finds himself unable to contain his relief.
"oh my god, you're a lifesaver- thank you so, so much!" perhaps it's a little dramatic to clasp the stranger's hands in his, yet it barely occurs to the vocalist as he rushes away, leaving the lanky boy standing there flustered.
neither can tell why the other looks somewhat familiar, but for now there are tweets to be tweeted and thoughts to be thunk.

working on a new vegas doctor costume
first 2 pics are the main bag, the rest of the costume pieces (and my thoughts) are under the break
healing powder (crushed orange pez and candy cigarettes in a burlap bag), ophthalmoscope (a weathered otoscope because the item name in the game is wrong), sunset sarsaparilla deputy badge (worth every dead wastelander), surgical tubing, medical tweezers, forceps, gauze, mentats, fixer, jet, med-x, buffout, rad-x, and cateye. also a small mojave express mail pouch with some ncr currency, postcards, and the platinum chip (might roughen some of these up to look less new)
all of these bags are belt pouches to mimic the ones on the wasteland doctor fatigues outfit
bufftats (not new vegas, but eh, it came with the other pill bottles), first aid box (came with the med-x, it has tiny buffout and rad-x bottles in it), and a box of atomic wrangler matches
microfusion cell and vault 21 matches
cigarettes and a vault 21 lighter (you see how often doctors smoke in that game??? clearly they need this many lights)
gotta keep your caravan deck in easy reach, never know when a game might kick off...
bobby pins, a tin of bottle caps, tops casino dice, and a set of poker chips (ring a ding ding baby)
the "codac r9000" michael angelo gives you. even if these old kodak cameras are dirt cheap, i still feel bad messing one up to make it look more like the game file, so natural aging only on this one
the main costume itself: mirrored shades, the wastland doctor fatigues (green cargo pants and a white tee, need to dirty them up and blood spatter them), bandana, leather belt, and a replica colt peacemaker in a leather holster (i have a foam one for conventions, this one is a metal replica from denix that looks better on camera)
i have the materials to make rad-away, and i might throw that in this costume somehow. just worried about a bag of dyed water sitting over the rest of these sharp and/or fragile pieces while walking around
i went with a variety of bags/pouches because in my head, it makes no sense for someone using 200yo scavenged materials to have all matching equipment. it makes sense from the game design perspective (less Things To Model), but i see it more likely these were pieced together from scavenging, bartering, and hand making them.
i have the pipboy from the fo4 preorder, but im probably not going to use it for this outfit. its the wrong design for one, but its also plasticy and barely fits my arm (you have to basically cover my hand to get the clamps closed). i prefer this being pre-game courier six, or just some random wandering doctor who does odd jobs for mojave express on the side.
you might notice some major missing props! this mostly has to do with space or cost. i love nuka cola and sunset sarsaparilla, but how on earth am i fitting those bottles in a shoulder bag. as for stimpacks? 2 main reasons. 1, even basic unpainted 3d printed ones are $30+, which seemed excessive for this. 2? those seem more like adrenaline and painkillers meant to get you through battle and less like something a doc would administer. why cover the pain when i can just clean the wound and stitch you up?
im still debating if/how i do the leather gaiters on the doctor fatigues outfit. i cant find anything even close to right, and im not a leatherworker. i have a feeling if i just tuck the pants into my boots, nobody will notice anyway.
i have to stop myself on this one. i keep finding things to add or modify and at this rate itll never be finished. i already have a pair of surgical scissors coming, and i got a harmonica today. those may or may not end up in the bag. plus, ive got my eye on a deck of caravan cards pulled from the game files. the one i have is the preorder bonus one which is a beautiful deck but not very lore friendly.
still trying to figure out how to make/get the bottles they use for antivenom and other potions/poisons in the game. its weirdly hard to find white clay or stone bottles with a cork top and round bottom...
see what i mean! this build will never end...

“Night on the Galactic Railroad” ichihona
i read the novel and watched the movie recently so random thoughts below
(spoilers for NotGR too!)
OK SO uhm the way i initially delved into this was because i suddenly remembered someone online mention (VERY OFFHANDEDLY). that leo/needs trained set from ‘Live with Memories’ was based off of ‘Night on the Galactic Railroad’.
(^ so this set)
merged with this movie poster (for the film adaption where theyre all cats).
Ramblings…
of course this leads me to read the plot in its wikipedia page and. immediately find ways to apply it to my blorbos. (at this point i wasnt even sure if i remembered the book right/if this was even the right book… and im still unsure but whatever…) (im also bad at Media Literacy).
so i settled on ichihona to be giovanni and campanella. around middle school aged.
but at first, i had it in my mind that ichika -> campanella, and honami -> giovanni.
mostly because campanella drowned rushing in to save zaneli after he fell in the river, something i just felt was very Young Ichika… the impulsiveness, no hesitance to help another…
and that Young Ichika is someone honami wanted to be like. so giovanni being like Scorpio, wishing for a chance to spread happiness for the sake of others (like ichika)…
but i think ‘ichika being campanella and honami being giovanni’ didnt fit as well because giovanni was the one seen to be alone, while campanella was surrounded by friends and did nothing when they teased giovanni.
so once i swapped them around (ichika being giovanni, honami being campanella), i started having more ideas and… interpretations??
ok first off. campanella is likened to scorpio, wanting to (and unlike scorpio, somewhat achieving) ‘save others’ and ‘spreading happiness’. which i think tied nicely to what honami does in middle school, trying to be there for everyone, be an ear to talk/vent to and generally trying to help others.
ALSO GUESS WHOS A SCORPIO (honami)
meanwhile while giovanni and campanella are friends, campanella doesnt really do anything while hes teased by his classmates, just looking back with sympathy. something about how honami sort of… ‘chose’ (ok, was sort of ‘bullied/threatened’ into choosing) her classmates over ichika.
also i like the scene at the very end of the book, where giovanni stands on the riverbank after hearing the news of campanella’s disappearance/death. he looks to the distance while everyone wonders where campanella went, thinking “i know where he went. he went to the edge of the universe. i know, because we went there together.”
im just thinking that while (giovanni/ichika) thinks that, the galaxy can be seen, yes, but also the moon (its like… ~7pm? around the end of summer so its plausible the moon could be low enough to just be seen over the river), with like, honami (in that sorta transparent where theyre not actually there thing), back turned. yknow, since ‘mochizuki’ has the character for moon.
ALSO THE HORRIBLE SAD IRONY OF CAMPANELLA DROWNING, AND HONAMI’S SPECIALTY BEING SWIMMING…
the whole ‘praying like scorpio to serve others in the next life’ thing is. uoorhg. i feel like something can be said about how honami was always helping others, but no one really knew how it was… like? to be like honami, with her selfishness and fear of being bullied, cast out, left behind… etc…
the wikipedia pointed out that a sort of ‘focus’ in the story was about “giving your life in service for others” and uoroogh. are you getting me… (it can work both ways i think, honami and ichika).
also campanella mentioned liking apples once (1 time) and of course like the loser i am i locked in like HONAMI! hes also knowledgable about flowers which is also partially why i initially saw him as ichika
also with giovanni, how hes left alone in the end.
(which while it fits ichika, now im thinking of a scenario where its saki as giovanni… i dont think itll work out as well as ichika though)
i might add more to these ramblings… these are just my initial word dumps.

What are your thoughts about Laudna coming back, I’m curious because this seems different from the Molly situation, the group seems incredibly determined
Oh boy, what a question.
Okay to set up for the first bit, I'm gonna address the second part of the q first:
Yeah, I think this is different. I think this is very different. I think its different in all the ways that the Bells and the M9 are so drastically different and the ways that they are two very distinct camapigns. But also in the more obvious ways- when the M9 lost Molly, they were lower leveled. They didn't have a cleric with revivify, they didn't have half their party. They didn't have anyone to turn to.
I'm trying to avoid this turning into a meta about the M9 but I think that last detail is just- so important. The Bell's have Eshteross, they have random shop owners to ask, they have distant but powerful figures who might help. The M9- did not. It was part of how they operated. More than once in early campaign they went from being mistrusted to marginally trusted and they would just- leave. Authorities were so rarely friendly. They were accusing people more than they weren't.
When Molly went down, on a snowy hill at the sword of someone who wanted to send a message- there was so, so little they could do.
And so we look at the Bells and- they've got more options. They had half their party killed but they got two of them back up and, in theory, left the battle on their own terms.
They're also, like you said. Incredibly determined.

Its both incredible and a little sad, honestly. I said this somewhere already, but by the end of the episode- they aren't quite grieving yet. They're hurt, they're aching from the loss, they're sad, but they haven't started grieving yet and part of that is because they are still acting. There are still things to do, avenues to exhaust. They aren't grieving Laudna yet. They can still get her back. They will, they have to. They're taking the time to sit and check in with each other and ask questions and comfort, where they can, but. Very little of that comfort has even entertained the notion of this loss being permanent. About Laudna being gone, not just lost.
(Except maybe for Orym, who is looking at Imogen and thinking of losing a loved one, having that absence be a fixture instead of an aberration. Thinking of a warm embrace, and "Not yet.")
And Imogen-
Imogen, more than the others, is probably painfully aware of Laudna's absence. A silence in her mind, an empty space at her side.
i'm not sure she can even consider the possibility of that absence becoming permanent, right now.
Im not sure any of them really can.
So... uh. on Laudna coming back: I don't know, right now. I don't think it will be too easy, but I think the Bells are going to be fighting for it, hard, for the foreseeable future. And whether it fails or succeeds in the longer term, i think (I'd hope?) itll have pretty long lasting effects.
I've deleted like an additional five paragraphs of my ~thoughts~ on it for the purposes of length and keeping it as 1 meta instead of two tacked together but:
- Some of my thoughts on Laudna's death can be found here.
- Story wise, narratively, campaign-as-a-whole/ externally, is a whole separate conversation, and one that plays a lot into personal preferences and wants and likes and... probably shouldn't go into this post.
- I think there's a lot of the ways this can go and still be done "well", by a subjective metric.
- I'd like for Laudna to come back. I also can see a world where she doesn't, and narratively thats juicy as hell, and also devastating. (edit: like full honesty, devastating and also chock full of potential, yknow?)
- No matter the specifics- Laudna mattered, and will continue to matter, and I think that's the main thoroughline I'm looking for.
- edit: and- alongside that- id want her death to matter too- whatever that might look like.

some ramblings, appreciating deltarunes "layers" of story/lore
I might have already written something about this before, but something that I really love about deltarune is that it's a game that (from what we can tell) has several different layers to the story that are all enjoyable, for different... levels of players to enjoy!
Like, you have the upfront stuff, about oh, dark worlds, the knight, and kris' soul (protagonist vs player and such)
but its mostly just some young teenagers goofing off going to fantasy worlds and learning some self improvement
then you go a tad bit deeper, still things most people may ask and you have...
well what the hecks up with dark worlds logistically, why is ralsei, and what dark worlds represent (escapism woah), and for some, secret bosses expanding on the whole free will + kris' soul shenanigans
thats where it may end for most people, and i think thats great, that if you arent someone in extreme brainrot about the history of gaster then... i think the game will be very enjoyable without having to think about meta elements!
and of course, as good writing tends to be, hints about one "level above" are slowly dropped to those who are below, to help them understand, but
you get what im saying, right? its like, big nerds get thinking about the gaster shit earlier, before the game really is gonna start probably hammering in like hey whats up with that voice at the beginning
I do question whether dess will end up being about as secret as like, jevil is, or as secret as the man behind the tree and the mystery of the eggs is.
but i feel like shes also a realy good opportunity for being a mystery thats almost entirely deltarune, without needing prior-context of who a random vaguely mentioned character in ut is.
still, a lot of vague info is hidden in the files, so perhaps...
hmm, well, there was that one abc_123 file where toby was like "don't share stuff from the files, thanks. you cant have secrets nowadays" and then.. i feel like when he changed it to just be laughter, that was his way of saying "alright, i see the game you want to play. ill play along" and thats why... for some people, hes playing the game of hiding mysterious stuff in the code. he knows what hes doing, of course. he knows people love looking in the games code, so hes trying to make it interesting even if people do that
overall though i just like how theres different levels of enjoyment of the story so far. im sure the game will end up telling everyone about dess and gaster and such, in some way, but... for most people? itll be a game about the fun gang and their friends learning to become better people, and having some fun wacky adventures on the way there!
tldr toby fox does "having different layers to your story" in a fairly interesting, enjoyable way.
EDIT: yeah, ill make a v2 of this post. i more specifically am amazed at how you dont NEED to know the deeper layers than you want to, and its. cool !!

i really like games that feel like they have their very own ecosystem!! rainworld is a really good showing of mobs interacting with each other and doing their own thing to live their lives, and i think that that would be really cool to add into minecraft!
not just with animals either, i think that villagers, illagers, and witches should all feel like they have their own lives and that they do things when youre not around. right now, all they really do is wander around. wolves chase skeletons and sheep eat grass, but we could have so much more than that!!
imagine if they all had their own schedules and preferences that were made clear by their behavior! ill start this example off with the chicken. what better way to start off with than...
A REDESIGN!!
now, you may be looking at that and thinking "hey now, mek. not ALL chickens look like that" and you would be RIGHT! of course, there would be over variants of this chicken (different breeds, if you will) that you would find in other areas; each would have their own behavioral trends, but thats not what im referring to.
what i am getting at is them all having different little cosmetic differences that make them more easily distinguishable, for instance:
9 different comb variations! (even bald rep!)
9 different wattles!! (look at them, so majestic!!)
8 different tail feathers!!! (do not pluck!!!)
do you know what that means?? that means there would be a whole... uh... one second
648 different chickens!!!!!
you know how to any random joe schmoe, a pile of chickens is a pile of chickens, but to Farmer Dale, thats Chirp, Chooch, Chiki, Cha-Cha, and Char all ganging up on Cheery? now (if you care to) you can be the farmer who can tell all their chickens apart, even without a nametag!
"but mek," i hear you ask, "why do i care which chicken is which? theyre all the same!!" well, first off, they arent in my heart. you may jot that down if you please. secondly, NOT ANYMORE THEYRE NOT!!
MECHANICS
my current plan is to give each mob 3 core stats that it can vary from other mobs of its variant in. of course, other variants of the same mob would probably have different base stats of course, but lets keep it simpler for now. some examples of base stats could be as follows:
cows could vary in hearts, protectiveness, and milkiness. sheep could vary in hearts, wooliness, and coziness. pigs could vary in hearts, comfy pose, and inquisitiveness.
and chickens? well, heres what im workin on so far:
EGGINESS - by default we can change it so that chickens generally pop an egg out every day as the average. we can even make it so that its about once every 10 minutes if you go to sleep on time every night. (oooh, interesting)
TIDINESS - increases the amount the chicken will set aside a little self-care time. the average can be around twice a day. why is this important? well, because when a chicken preens itself, it heals whatever damage its taken and drops a feather!! (finally, a reliable way to get them without hurting them!)
BROODINESS - broodiness is a new status a chicken can be in that has a chance of happening every full moon, lets say around a 5% chance. if the chicken does become broody, then itll hang around its nest more, produce more eggs, and become territorial. coming by to take a broody chickens eggs may get you a peck or two!! it might be best to be a little more careful until the new moon comes around and it calms down.
now, there were some things in that list that seem to hint to other mechanics. ill go more into their behavior now:
chickens generally spend most of their time either pecking around in the grass for seeds, nesting, perching, preening or interacting with other chickens. which action they will default to depends on the time of day. these can be generally split into time they are foraging, nesting, perching, and doing social things.
FORAGING - a wandering state. chickens will walk around and peck the ground every so often, eating seeds or bugs or whatever. there is a small chance of chickens leaving biome specific seeds (foreshadowing) around whenever they peck/scratch at the ground.
NESTING - most often done in the morning and evening, if the chicken has a nest claimed the chicken will go to its nest and relax. it will alternate every so often between sleeping, preening, maintaining their nest, and wandering around a small area around their nest. if the chicken does NOT have a nest claimed, it will choose a nearby one. if there is no nest nearby, it will either start making one or skip to the perching state. a chicken deciding to make a new nest will search for a suitable spot, prioritizing elevation, cover, and specific adjacent blocks. (i do also plan on making it so you can make nests for them/move them with silk touch)
PERCHING - while perching, chickens will seek a "comfy" spot to sit. "comfy" spots are dependent on the weather. if it's sunny, a comfy spot is an high up spot that is exposed to sunlight. if its cloudy, it is just a high up spot. if its rainy, the chick en prioritizes cover. if its snowy, it will prioritize cover near other chickens, foliage, or a light source for warmth.
SOCIALIZING - chickens will seek out other chickens, and sometimes other mobs or even players, and exhibit one of a few different behaviors; these include clucking at them, preening them, and following them around.
what do you think? this is all a work in progress, and i have more ideas for interactions chickens could possibly have with other mobs, but this is what ive got so far. i dont want to make anything TOO complicated, but i think this feels pretty nice and makes the chickens feel... well, like theyre actual chickens!!

lots of kisses and the tenderest 'I love you's' but he absolutely cannot do anything in return, i might even spoonfeed him everything from breakfast to dessert,
After the massage and the preening, its time to make him messy again 😔 gotta eat him out, suck him, and ride him gently til he cums idc how many times, before cleaning him up all over again
I want him to turn to jelly, I'll check off every self-care/sub bucketlist item he has, he's my MCs perfect little doll for the day. Will he squirm? beg? Melt into a puddle? – miguel was an asshole, a certified one at that — your first day at hq wasn't very thrilling with him throwing you nasty looks left and right, the worst part is, he didn't actually say anything rude or mean to you, but he wasn't all that friendly either, so when you came up to him with a scowl on your face and demanding that he tells you why he keeps looking at you like you just spilled the milk over, he simply looked you up and down and said something along the lines of 'just get back to work' not really offering much context or explanation before leaving you to head back to his 'office' and from that day on, you were sworn enemies — you couldn't stand his authority figure persona and he couldn't stand your stubborn self because you never abided by his rules, so everyday was to you was a back and forth argument with him, and it didn't help that you'd get paired up with him for alot of missions — talk about bad luck.
– slowly but surely, the two of you eased up to eachother, yeah it took like nine months but it worked out — your arguments started to turn from actual heated conversations to more of a fun back and forth bickering — miguel would deny it any moment you or anyone would ask him about it, say something about how he thinks it's annoying but the small grin on his face when he talks to you doesn't go unnoticed, no matter how much he tries to hide it — yeah, he's a tough shell, closed off and repulsive but he isn't all that bad after all, at least that how you were starting to see him — like hey, he brought you empanadas from the cafeteria with him, he doesn't do that with anybody else.
– soon enough, it's been a year and a half since miguel has known you — you still don't really know him that much but you settled for a truce and you warmed up to eachother. the day came where your walls were broken down and the rain was pouring over your head, seemingly amplifying your bad mood because it felt like such a cliche for it to heavy pour on the day you felt at your worst — but you were soon shielded from the icy cold droplets when an umbrella came over your head, and surely enough it was miguel who was holding it, he threw you a glance, his face the usual blank expression he worse but his eyes were soft, he mumbled something about 'don't want you catching a cold, you have a mission tomorrow' and the rest of the walk to your place was in silence, not the heavy kind, miguel wasn't a talker after all, but you appreciated his presence — no matter how silent it was, it was still comforting.

Characters for a project I've been working on for a bit
Quick Note: There are two non-made characters, and also this project was originally supposed to be a fighting game but like i dont have the coding knowledge for that so it might be a comic or askblog or something idk the only thing ik for sure is that itll have multiple characters and that a certain character who i havent modeled yet has just been grabbing people from random worlds and putting them here. ik its not the most original plot but shush

I imagine she'd have a gimmick where the lil statue inside her chest is the only thing that can be hit

Then there's Gingersnap! (be warned she was modeled bc she was on the list of characters I said I would model but hadn't yet and I wanted that list to be smaller so she's a bit rushed. yes this makes a likely remodel candidate sorry)
