Morrowind moments I desperately want to hyperanalyze but feel like I don’t have the language to do so: When the Nerevarine asks Vivec if they remember being mortal, and they say “For me — there is no more feeling. Only knowing.” And then a literal written [Pause] before Vivec says they do want to win though, not for their people, but because “To lose would be very, very bitter.” And how those two paragraphs alone shaped Vivec’s character for me more than anything else they said or did during that confrontation, as I felt it was one of the few moments we saw Vivec being completely, brutally, honest.
#my dumb textposts#LONG TAGS#coupled with the fact that right after you ask them how they feel about their people#and suddenly go on to say they love their people after literally JUST saying they no longer have the capacity to care for them#Vivec is a walking bundle of contradiction and is one of the most compelling and interesting characters in TES imo. voryn is also Up There#how the two of them counteract each other during the nerevarine’s story is also very compelling to me#Vivec describes dagoth ur as a deceiver and manipulator who will seek to deceive the nerevarine. however by all accounts-#-dagoth ur is TERRIFYINGLY honest towards the nerevarine. he gives what I believe is the most accurate rendition of the events that-#occurred on red mountain after the war. Vivec on the other hand carries themself as only incredibly honest and truthful -#- even going so far as to claim they eradicated the idea of the contradiction in their sermons. but Vivec just IS a contradiction.-#-their godhood (and the godhood of the other tribunal) is built on the foundation of a lie that they desperately tried to suppress as-#-they grew weaker in power. they claim to be honest but lie to your face. in their most honest rendition of the events of red mountain they-#-don’t even MENTION nerevar’s passing (the written account taken from their library). it’s just implied that Nerevar died and they don’t-#-touch on HOW it happened. and in my mind I read that as like. they know what happened. but this is an honest retelling. but they couldn’t-#-tell the truth but they wouldn’t outright lie either. so they just didn’t mention nerevar’s death at /all./#idk where I’m going with the tags just. Vivec is so gd interesting. in all their complexities and super moral grayness.#and hey - I recognize others might not see the events the same. Morrowind is a game of unreliable narrators!! it’s about piecing-#-the story together in a way that gives you and your character the most closure. there’s no hard truth or right answer.#there isn’t a bug evil dragon labeled the Most Evilest Dragon for you to defeat. it’s a story where even after finishing it… there’s a-#-sense of like. did you really do what was best? is this land that is now your responsibility going to prosper from your actions?#and honest to god the fact that Skyrim comes in and says ‘It doesn’t.’ is fucking RIVETING. YOU WERE A DAEDRA PLOY THE WHOLE TIME!!#AZURA DIDNT CARE SHE JUST WANTED REVENGE. AND NOW YOU LIVE WITH THAT FOREVER BECAUSE OF THE CORPRUS THAT YOU WERE DESTINED BY HER TO GET.#FUCKING STELLAR WRITING I LOVE MORROWIND#I HAVE TO GET TO SLEEP I HAVE SCHOOL TOMORROW. ITS JUST ONE CLASS BUT ITS EARLY SO

Hi hello it seems I’ve caught a rare strain of art block that makes me unable to draw in anything other than Kid Pix Deluxe 4™, but I still need to buy groceries and stuff so!! I’m gonna try my hand at some experimental commissions.
If you have some kind of whimsical OC and you want me to let me loose on them, now’s your chance! Give me a character and I will cook up something cool — there's no pose/style/background tiers, though I will try to put an equal amount of effort into every drawing.
Payment in USD through PayPal invoice only.
More info under the cut!
Inquiries through Tumblr DM or via [email protected].
You can give me some brief prompting (e.g. “I’d like a drawing of my wizard OC casting some kind of spell”, “Can you work in some robot/tech motifs?” etc.) – or give me free rein, if you’d prefer.
I will need a minimum of one visual reference of the character’s design, but the more material I have to work from, the better! Tell me about their lore, what they’re like, their associated themes and motifs, all that jazz! Show me their aesthetic moodboards, the funnie tumblr textposts you associate with them, their playlist even.
As the nature of the program makes revisions difficult, I might turn down a request if I do not feel confident that I can compose a satisfactory piece from the provided material.
Once we’ve worked out all the details, I will send you a link to a PayPal invoice. I will not begin working on the piece until payment has been recieved.
Please note that I won't be providing WIPs! I can show you my initial sketch for the composition if you'd like, but after that the end result will be a suprise.
Once completed, I will send you a link to a drive containing the resized drawing in the form of a .png, as well as the original 665 x 477 bitmap.
Once payment has been received and I have begun working on the piece I cannot refund it. However, if I for any reason have to cancel the commission from my side I will refund it fully, regardless of level of completion.
Some limitations of the program (good to keep in mind!):
No layers
One (1) level of undo
Image size: The Kid Pix 4 drawing area is 665 x 477 pixels. I scale up the final image file x4 to make it more compatible with the modern internet, but the drawing itself will still be crunchy. That’s part of the charm! (I can also make the image dimensions 1:1, if requested.)
Colors: It is possible for me to create hues outside of the palette provided by the program, but replicating colors precisely can be tricky. Expect stylization.
Okay, I think that’s everything! Thank you for reading this far, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions <3

fascinating that the biphobes, who say that BG3 companions are not accurate as bisexuals/pansexuals, literally haven’t played the game!! they don’t know the characters or who they flirt with and choose to sleep with.
a textpost said that everyone is allowed to play the game as they want and romance characters with a character of any gender and one person commented that OP is a homophobe and Astarion “would be the biggest gay if not for making everyone playersexual.” I clicked on the username and they have a post stating “will buy that game just to play as the furry albino elf and have homophobes watch him get fucked by every dude” ok. sounds fun, I will do the same, I’ll simply also fuck every women. but no.when not everyone is playersexual, 80% of them just end up straight. the remainder mostly still bi and they would deny the bisexuality of those few as well. why do they feel so comfortable attacking bisexuality that they will even comment on bi characters when they are unfamiliar with a given piece of fiction
#if I never watched a tv show/read a book/played a game I sure don’t go on people’s posts#and make accusing statements towards fans how they are wrong to interpret characters AS THEY ARE IN CANON#also this is typical rhetoric that bi men are actually just gay (and bi women are just straight because everyone only wants men)#biphobia#anyway they don’t care what it’s like for bi people to hear this#that a person got called a homophobe for pointing out that bi/pan character IS bi/pan and bi people do sleep with women#they literally say they haven't bought the game yet#wtf#why have an opinion?#when I want to engage in conversation about characters/story first I watch/read/play that story#my post#my posts#tumblr bullshit#bisexual#characters#text post#Baldur's Gate 3#BG3#textposts#also there is definitely an element of misogyny in this...#after all I haven't seen anyone demanding that the bi female companions should only be paired with women#no it's the typical fandom thing where only male/male pairings are allowed and female charactes are treated like shit and pushed to the side#female characters not allowed in male/female pairings not even when both are bi/pan and potentially poly#and female/female pairings are just so rare they almost never show up...#and like I always say bi people get shit from both sides#the conservative side of this DOES exist... people who are annoyed that larian showed him making out with a man#it's just that they are an extreme minority on this website#but just because those conservatives and homophobes exist doesn't mean it makes it ok to deny a bi character's attraction to women#both are wrong and both are biphobic#both are a form of erasure

changes i liked and disliked in the rwrb movie 📨
ohmygod. i'm finally gonna talk about this movie, aren't i? i've held myself off from making original creations like video or photo edits for this piece of media, and i still am, because i feel like if i start making one i won't stop, but i think a textpost can be an exception because i've made tweets and threads about it on twitter already.
anyway, i just wanted to rattle off on these since these opinions have been simmering up on me since the movie first came out. lol i watched it 15 hours later on a whim with bar-in-hell expectations. karma got to me, because i ended up getting brainrot over it.
this is a long overdue post.
the aging up is both a yes and a no for me. a yes because i have previously never been opposed to aging up YA characters (technicaly rwrb is more new adult that young adult but whatever, it's teetering) like shadowhunters, and matthew does a great job of justifying this choice: grounding their romance into a more mature and real love. it's not to say that young love isn't valid or real enough, but the decision to make firstprince in their late 20s makes the discussion of forever and their adamant to fight for their love is more realistic and believable. with that said, it's also a no for me because their ages are also detrimental to the timeline and character arcs. for instance, henry's grief hits him like a ten wheeler as a teenager, and the whole explanation that casey writes for his grief is that he expected to deal with something as magnanimous as that kind of loss when he's older and not when his brain hasn't even fully developed. another instance is alex's having to grapple with his career choices after college!
matthew's best change is quite possibly firstprince exchanging the key and the ring. hands down, much better. i do understand that since the novel is in third person limited (alex's pov), it makes sense at a literary level (lol) for alex to own both the key and the necklace ("two homes side by side" is a BANGER line), but the equal complete devotion that the two have for each other at that point is excellent through that showcase of exchange. i own part of you, you own part of me. it's such a great display for the trope of "token of love." romcoms are back, baby! cinema is back!
worst change, then, is probably alex's parents being still happily married and in love. my hot take is that i understand why june was cut out and she's not a huge loss, compared to alex growing up as a child of divorce. making that change to alex having parents who are still together removes a huge dimension to alex's characterization because a lot of his issues stem from that, mainly his abandonment issues. you can see the full effect in the scene where he storms the kensington palace. i understand and respect it, matthew essentially explaining that because this was a different henry, then this was a different alex to — that he needed to be softer. he was more pleasing, desperate, confused with "can we please talk?" instead of the brash "your royal fucking highness!" because that's what it is: confusion. movie!alex couldn't fully understand why someone would just up and leave like that, whereas book!alex was immediately angry because he knows full well when someone leaves him. (*ahem* his dad) but anyway someone discusses it here in such great detail and i very much agree!
oh another good change is showing henry's pov during the email leak. nicholas... sir... ugh. fine, we're getting you that damn oscar. but seriously, he did great. t'was devastating seeing his face crumble, and the one show/display of roual authority, of hot flash of anger, of power, just to talk to alex was even sadder because that was the only time he uses it.
another yes and no change for me is "history huh." the placement of the most popular line from being im the email to being said out loud privately for the two of them is something i'm divided about. yes: there is a great deal of comfort that comes with henry getting to hear that from alex's own lips. it's very sweet and romantic and yeah tbh tbh i would've melted into a puddle right then and there. that there is a comfort that comes with at least that wasn't taken away from them. but no: the whole point of that being in the email (along with bad metaphors, an incomplete list, the story of the prince born with his heart on the outside of his body, etc.) is that these two's privacy was violated. the whole world read those words that were just meant for the two of them, but the public ended up using that line for their banners and flags and signs. and it's important why? it was then made into a form of reclamation. that even if they went through shit and worried about the consequences of being public figures, that there was hope that at least a surprisingly large number of the general public voiced their support, that they were backed by the people they were serving. removing that from the email in the movie... well, you get the rest.
should the height difference even be talked about? that's a factor that is 80% outside of anyone's control lmao??? but i do think it's worth noting that i've grown kinda fond with it that now i imagine taylor & nick's physical builds when reading firstprince fanfics plus having a taller alex who has a height complex instead of a shorter alex who has a height insecurity is so fucking funny. what a great running gag. the gaslighting of the audience into thinking henry is taller is 10/10. best lampshading ever, actually.
henry standing up for himself to the king is both a yes and no too. yes: matthew's justification is pretty nice. not only does it save them production costs to hire a princess catherine actress and pacing issues, it also makes sense narratively. the movie has written henry as voiceless throughout it really well, so for him to save himself is a great reason for why. but also it's a no for me because it's equally important that catherine the negligent mother starts compensating for her absences by battling generational conflict lmao. there's also the factor of a woman saving a man too! the rwrb universe emphasizes quite well about how henry and alex are surrounded by these powerful female figures who are near and dear to them in their lives. to grow up learning from them. point is, movie!henry standing up for himself is a nice choice because he's older. and at the same time, book!henry being supported by her mother is a great choice because he needed to be affirmed with a larger support system in his younger age.
making henry the one to clarify at first that their relationship should be casual instead of alex is a big yes for me. the mixed signals henry does in the book makes for borderline inconsistent characterization, but he's younger there so it makes sense for us to be confused. but henry in the movie "explaining himself to alex for the past year" is a great cleaning up because at the start, henry has been clear on "ok but we can't do this long term."
this has been sitting on my drafts for too long (weeks) so i'll just post this now. and maybe update it, idk. this post feels too incomplete but i don't want to sit on it, so. whatever here it is. 🤣
edit:. i discovered this amazing podcast who talk about it in great detail and 90% of their opinions i agree with! imm frothing at the mouth with how they describe and reason with each change and i just 🥺 want to share how cool they are. [part 1, part 2]

Image IDs: A brief guide
What it is, and why:
Image IDs are a text description of an image. This can also encompass things like GIFs too.
They’re made to allow people with difficulty viewing images to participate in posts! This can include those with low-vision or blindness, neurodivergency, and people with slow internet.
Many people who are blind use screen readers in order to read text aloud to them and few screen readers are able to read images without help, like alt text, which is rarely included. This means many people are unable to engage with significant parts of the internet, particularly on social media.
Image ID 101:
Any image description is better than none- regardless of how short it is.
There’s not a template to creating a good ID, and the level of detail you add depends on how much time you’re willing to spend. They are usually within brackets and ended with /END ID] to show that the ID has been finished. For example: [IMAGE ID: A drawing of a goat /END ID]
Being objective is better- this means no judgements like “crudely drawn“ or “well drawn”on art pieces unless necessary.
Additionally, making text of an ID smaller or placing it beneath a cut makes it less accessible, and should be avoided.
Creating a good image ID:
1. Identify the format (ex. Is it fanart? A gif? A screenshotted textpost? etc). If it’s fanart, identifying the style is helpful- things like chibi, watercolor, or cartoon if they apply.
2. Identify the focus of the image- it’s usually the thing taking up the most space within the image. For example, with the following image, the focus is Pingu, the penguin.
Tumblr media
[IMAGE ID: A screenshot of Pingu the penguin shown with his arms crossed /END ID]
3. Provide details about the focus of your image. For example, in a portrait of a person, provide details about their appearance like skin tone, hair color, and facial expression. In the case of the Pingu image above, it could include the details that he is frowning and sitting on a chair.
4. Give information about things outside of the focus of the piece, like what’s behind or around it. Generally I work from left to right and top to bottom when doing this on complex pieces unless something in a different area is taking noticable secondary focus (for example, a second character who may be partially out of frame).
5. End your ID! Happy transcribing. If you have any additional commentary to add to the post itself, include it after your ID.
Resources:
All About Image Descriptions - A good step-by-step style guide with more in-depth explanations.
Keplercryptid’s image ID resource page - Includes many, comprehensive links
Tools to Help Describe Text-Heavy Images - Has both mobile and desktop tools that will transcribe the text in an image. Particularly with tweets or news article screenshots.
Describing Skin Tones
Describing Hair
People’s Accessibility Discord Server - This server can help you find your legs when you start making IDs, and has people who will write IDs for you! Broadly speaking, this was one of the most helpful things for me when I first started describing images.
And if you need an image IDer to answer a specific question, I’d direct you to @keplercryptids, who taught me a significant portion of what I know! My inbox will always be open for accessibility questions as well.

Hello fellas these are my new little guys
(L->R is Zeke, Samson, Arthur, and Oberon)
I can’t believe I actually finished a piece!
I want to talk more about them but that’ll come later, probably just in a textpost.
Uhhh drawn on Magma with entirely my finger and mouse, the patterning alone took the better part of two and a half days.
[Image Desc: A pixel art landscape drawing broken up into four parts, each part with a different color palette. The landscape depicts a mountain scene with a forest and field, and is drawn in four layers. Each layer has a different pattern, resulting in a quilt like look. The foreground is a layer of black with four characters, one in each part.]
If anyone has some tips or help for me to ID images better, please let me know!

Serious question: do you see Disco Elysium as copaganda because it humanizes cops, despite its brutal condemnation of police work? If so, how do you square that with disliking Succession, which does the absolute Most to critique capitalist structures while humanizing (but not endearing) its characters because, yes, even the worst of the worst are human? This isn't meant in bad faith, I'm genuinely curious!
this got long so i'm putting it under a cut
i've grappled with the question of "is disco elysium copaganda" and, like, no, obviously de isn't copaganda in terms of intent; it's obviously a clearsighted and intentional critique of the police and capital at large. (i've had the same thoughts about the discworld city watch books, another piece of cop media that i like a lot and whose creator by and large seemed like a decent guy, even if pratchett was less of a Hardline Marxist than the za/um folks.)
however, i do think de occupies a kind of uneasy position in the cultural landscape because while, yes, it would be pretty tough to play that game and come away from it being like "wow! cops are great!" a LOT of people came away from it being like "wow! kim kitsuragi so cool! i love hdb he's my little meow meow!" and, at least in some cases, i think it might well lead to those people developing a voice in their mind which is sympathetic to irl cops.
TO BE CLEAR, i don't mean disco elysium Made People Like Cops. i mean it might have made certain people, on an emotional level, without realizing it themselves, more inclined to judge the actions of irl cops somewhat more sympathetically.
that isn't to say that disco elysium has done more bad than it has good -- i genuinely don't believe it has. i just mean to illustrate that talking about this stuff is by necessity a double-edged sword. humans are naturally inclined towards sympathy, and by showing someone's perspective in the way that de or succession do you're priming the audience to, while not necessarily liking that person, at least attempting to understand them.
this is a little problematic especially in the context of succession -- in a television drama, especially one of succession's caliber, we expect intriguing and complicated character motivations. and so we get this web of familial loyalties and obligations and neuroses, while in real life i doubt most rich right-wing media people operate on motivations much more complex than "i want to make lots of money, and if i get [insert minority here] killed in the process that's just a bonus."
"even the worst of the worst are human" -- this kind of ties into the point i'm making. yes, of course, but do we need media that shows this? there are other ways to critique capital without giving the spotlight over to the worst of the worst. no matter how starkly the spotlight picks out their flaws, the spotlight is still on them.
again, i don't think it's like a moral ill to watch succession. i don't think it's a particularly bad show. it's fine! i'm not even trying to argue that it's doing more harm than good -- for all i know, it might have driven home the fact that capitalism bad to tons of viewers who hadn't already internalized that knowledge. i guess all i'm saying is it makes me feel weird when people reblog my joke textposts and tag it with "#this is sooo roman" or whatever.
so, to sum up: is de copaganda? nah, not really, BUT. is succession actually propaganda? nah, probably not, BUT. and the "but" in both those cases is "but, even if you're reasonably certain the media you are consuming wasn't created to actively manipulate you, it is still a good idea to always apply the wisdom of 'i am not immune to propaganda' and think about how it might be affecting your opinions and biases subconsciously"
