I'm having a Jschlatt brainrot rn so expect more imagines than anyone wants , feel free to request anything

Synopsis: schlatt and y/n are putting together a desk , but it sounds inappropriate to Charlie outside the room , he gets worried like any friend would

Warnings:mentions of anal , hurt , sexual intercourse, innuendos, a whole lot of whacky stuff , not proofread or edited

The only things that charlie could hear from the outside of the OTK office/filming room were things that would definitely give him nightmares and make him avoid Schlatt and Y/n for the foreseeable future

Who said I can't put this fucking thing in that hole " schlatt said practically shouting out of anger

"Me ! , for the hundredth time it shouldn't go there no matter how much you ask" his girlfriend answered

"Tell me that doesn't look like it'll fit in there"

"I am not turning around , I know I'm right . Now hurry up before Charlie or Ted get back"

Charlie was torn between making some loud noise and hoping they'd stop whatever they sound like they're doing or running away and never speaking to them again

He did neither out of pure terror and instead pulled out his phone to text Ted to see if this was some skit or some prank they were playing or whether they were actually doing that in the studio where they filmed

'Hey dude, do you know what Y/n and Shclatt are doing in the studio?' He texted simply not bothering to beat around the bush

'Anal by the sounds of it , but I have no clue, didn't want to know to be honest'

Charlie really didn't want the first bit to be true , especially since he was only there to hold one of the cameras while they filmed stuff . He was getting way more than he bargained for

'Gross , don't joke about that or it'll come true' he replied a grimace on his face

'They've been at it for a solid half hour , they should be done soon don't worry man'

'Don't worry man ? You clearly aren't hearing this' charlie scoffed at Ted's audacity

'I escaped with minimal trauma thankfully' he could feel Ted's smugness through the screen

'And you didn't think to take me with you?'

'Didn't know if they wanted you to film it'

'You're disgusting nivison' and with that he put his phone back in his pocket and tried to plan what he was going to do next

"I fucking told you that wouldn't fit, are you done trying yet ?"

"It's going to fit I don't care what you say you god damn bitch" at that charlie knew he had to do something for the safety of his friends

So he did what anyone would do and knocked on the door rather harshly to make sure he was heard

"Yeah , uh kinda busy" He heard y/n say

"I know you guys are in love , but that's a recording room . Also are you okay ?"

"Yeah fine just pissed at this furniture" schlatt admitted

"Schlatt!" Y/n said scolding him

"Are you both decent? Can I come in?"

"Yeah why wouldn't we be" they both simultaneously spoke

The situation he opened the door to was definitely not what he was expecting, but in a good way

They were just trying to put a new coffee table together to replace the one Schlatt broke in the previous recording

"Oh thank god" Charlie said with a hand over his heart as he breathed a sigh of relief "we thought you were doing anal"

"Anal? No one's doing anal , I'm not allowed to anymore" that comment earned him a firm slap to the chest

"Please stop talking, for my sake" charlie begged

At that charlie showed them the texts him and Ted had sent and they put the pieces together

"Oh charlie I'm so sorry you heard that , we just wanted to surprise you with the new coffee table before the next video" y/n apologised to her friend as her boyfriend loudly laughed next to her

"That's so fucking funny man , how did we not realise" he said wiping a tear from his eye "you look so terrified man" he said still laughing and using Charlie's shoulder as a stabilizer

"Is that why ted left?" Y/n asked shocked that everyone thought they were doing such a thing "this is so embarrassing and it's all your fault" she said pointing at her boyfriend who broke the table in the first place

"You have to admit that it's kinda funny" he said turning to face his girlfriend as Charlie called Ted and told him he can come back

"Charlie has the worst luck when it comes to us" she said sympathy evident in her voice "remember when he walked in on us in Ted's bathroom at that party"

"Be thankful it was him and not Ted" this earned him a middle finger in his direction

"What a wacky day it's been" Ted said entering the room they all were in

"You haven't been here for half of it " charlie accused as they chatted about what to film next

He had asked you to change his bandages about a week ago you both have been really busy with work and you couldn't but one day you both had a day off and you changed them and he wasn't to happy to see his scars the scars he did to himself self-harm scars you have thought they were beautiful he was looking away and you took your pen and drew on his arm and made something with the scars together than kissed his scars he looked at it and than you and you smiled and said "they are beautiful Dazai" he than said "but- I cut myself and you think that is good?" you shook your head but said "no but they are beautiful" and you changed his other arm and wrapped his arms up in the new bandages he smiled and said nobody will see "I know but still" you said and you kissed his cheek and said I'm going out to get stuff for dinner and left and he went with you

it was a boring meeting and you were bored and you felt like you were gonna die Chuuya kept yelling saying "OH FUCK THAT!" or "fucking shit great" and "well we are fucked now you assholes!" You took his arm and drew to cure your boredom and he looked at you than said "what the fuck are you doing" than saw you drawing something on him he than saw when you finished it was like a whole art set this after this something after another after the meet was over he would hide that he liked it you would catch him smiling while looking at his arm his arm was like a child drew on it but it wasn't that bad just looked like a child went crazy

He was just eating his snacks in the meeting room and you were in their signing some paper work you could hear Dazai getting yelled at it was funny Ranpo's hat was off and he kept feeding you some of his snacks like some pieces here and there when you were done ranpo was his head up and you took his arm and drew on it I guess he fell asleep because he said who? than saw you and did the biggest gasp you looked at him than showed him he said "my arm looks like it is an canvas" you giggled and said or more asked "do you like it?" He said "I love it!" Than hugged me and than he said "thank you"

Poe Allan Edgar

He was writing a book and Karl was running around the room you were sitting on the floor drawing in your book he bought you with the pens he bought you ended up some how with some weird ass thing draw in the whole book in under 3 hours you got up and played with Karl for about a hour amand than you found yourself drawing on Poe's arm amyou said "Poe look!" He looked at his arm and said "what happened to the notebook?" you picked it up and gave it to him and said finished it he looked so shocked and just said "how did you do that in under 3 hours I bought you it before I got to work" you nodded he said "I'll buy you a bigger and better one tomorrow than love" he than kissed your forehead

You were supposed to be working but your boredom had other plans you picked up you pen and wrote on Kunikida arm his sleeves were rolled up he was typing in his computer and than he turned his head slowly and said "what are you doing! It's not time to draw on- my- arm?-" you were looking at him and said look he looked at his arm he said "I knew it wasn't a good time to gave my sleeves rolled up-" you giggled and said "oh well" he than got hit in the face by a paper airplane. Kunikida slowly turned his head and looked at Dazai and yelled "I TOLD YOU TO GET TO WORK YOU BASTARD!!!"

He came home late after a long day at work you made him something to eat and you both talked and you asked him how was his day at work he said "not to good- same thing" you were drawing in your book while he was getting charged into different clothes he sat down next to you and watched as you drew in your book you ending up drawing things on his arm and he didn't look mad he just said "this washes off right?" LATE NIGHT KISSES

genre. fluff. warnings. lots of kissing just so much of it. sleepy shirtless doeui </3 and mention of food (potatoes & peanuts). pairing. doy x fem!reader. wc. 806. request. combined 2 ideas from @eternalgyu: req 1 & req 2. a/n. brainrot leave me alone ISTG i cannot handle doy any longer skdjsk <//3 i swear i'm gonna write for the other members too working on some fics for them currently but doy is just occupying all available brain space i have and every single thought in my brain god.

Doeui didn’t know what time it was when his eyes blinked open after his body shivered for the fifth time. He didn’t know how long he had slept, or where you had gone, or when you’d be back, or why you had left the warm bed (and taken the warmth along with you). But he knew you were gone and he was cold, so he heaved his body up and padded his feet towards the kitchen.

There was no other possible place you could be in the middle of the night besides the bathroom, and he found you searching through the cupboards under the dim glow of a lamp from the living room. Another shiver travelled up his spine, motivating him to step forward and wrap his arms around your waist, craving for the warmth of your body. You gasped from the chill of his body— his bare chest hitting your back as his cheek rested on your shoulder.

“You’re freezing, love.” You said, turning around in his arms, abandoning the peanuts you had been eating out of the bag while you waited for the tater tots to crisp up in the airfryer. “Why didn’t you grab a shirt before coming out here?”

“Didn’t think about it. Just wanted to find you.” He whined, burying his face in your shoulder, rubbing his head against your skin like a sleepy kitten. He was so tired, but he knew he wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep without you.

“Well, I’m glad you did.” You giggled, fluffing his hair and rubbing your hand in loving circles to warm up his bare back. “I’m just making a snack, it’s almost done and then we can go back to sleep.”

He hummed, the tiredness from just waking up making his voice much deeper than it usually was. You walked forward slowly, guiding him to follow your steps until his waist hit the back of the counter. He pushed himself on top of it almost as if second nature— having spent so much time using the counter as his personal seat. He clung to your pyjama shirt with one hand, not wanting you to step away from him again.

“Baby, I’ll be back in half a second. Promise.” You reassured him with a quick kiss to his forehead before stepping back. The airfryer beeped quietly, signalling that your food was done. You transferred the warm crispy pieces of potatoes into a bowl, and were back to hugging Doeui within half a minute.

“You’re so tired. Why don’t you just go back to bed now?” You asked, eyebrows falling as you watched him yawn and rub his eyelids, barely even having the energy to open them. His usual bright wide eyes were half closed and hazy as drowsiness still clung to him. He just shook his head firmly and reached for your hand, snaking your fingers with his gently but securely. He giggled when you squeezed his hand, the sound much like a child discovering something new and exciting.

It was a habit of your boyfriend’s to be a bit clingier when tired. When you came to pick him up from his studio, he clung to you like a koala, refusing to let go of your hand even in the car. He craved affection when his brain was low energy, and you were more than happy to shower him with it.

You munched the first tater tot in your mouth, humming in satisfaction as it perfectly satiated your late night cravings. You held up one of the potatoes for your boyfriend, popping it into his mouth as soon as he let his lips fall open. He smiled at the taste of the perfectly warm, savoury, slightly salty potato, and you couldn’t help but kiss the slight dimple on his cheek.

Since you could hardly be asked to stop with just one kiss to the cheek, you quickly trailed down, pressing sweet warm kisses on his neck until you reached his collarbone.

You would’ve stopped there, but you could feel Doeui squeeze your hand tightly, opening his eyes just slightly to look at you. You could tell immediately that he wanted you to continue, and so you did. Gentle loving kisses were placed all over his collarbone and shoulders, and then back up the other side of his neck until you finally reached his lips. You made this kiss last a bit longer, savouring the sweet taste of his lips, a hint of salt still on them from the food.

“Let’s go back to sleep, hm?” You suggested after finishing the last piece of potato. Doeui nodded in agreement, but still puckered his lips for one last kiss, which made you giggle. “I already kissed you a thousand times. You still want more?” You teased, making him laugh softly.

“Just one more.”

Penguins to retire Jaromir Jagr’s No. 68 during pre-game ceremony on Feb. 18

The Pittsburgh Penguins will raise two-time Stanley Cup Champion Jaromir Jagr’s no. 68 jersey to the rafters at PPG Paints Arena on February 18 versus the Los Angeles Kings as part of a pre-game celebration, it was announced today by the club.

As part of the ‘Celebrate 68’ festivities, all fans in attendance that night will receive a replica Jagr No. 68 banner. In addition, a commemorative Jagr bobblehead has been added as a giveaway to all fans in attendance on Thursday, March 14 versus the San Jose Sharks.

Jagr, whose NHL career spanned over two decades, is one of the most accomplished players in NHL history and a member of the league’s ‘100 Greatest Players.’ In 1,733 career regular-season games, the 6-foot-3, 230-pound winger scored 766 goals, 1,155 assists and 1,921 points. He ranks fourth all-time in games played and goals, fifth in assists, and only Wayne Gretzky (2,857) has recorded more points than him. No player in NHL history has more game-winning goals than Jagr’s 135.

Drafted by Pittsburgh in the first round (5th overall) of the 1990 NHL Draft, Jagr spent the first 11 seasons of his 24-year NHL career with the Penguins, appearing in 806 regular-season games notching 439 goals, 640 assists, 1,079 points, 78 game-winning goals and was plus-208. He is in the top-5 in franchise history in games played (5th), goals (4th), assists (4th), points (4th), plus/minus (2nd) and game-winning goals (4th). He was one of 13 captains in team history, serving in the role from 1998-01.

Jagr was an instrumental piece of Pittsburgh’s back-to-back Stanley Cup Championships in 1991 and ’92 – his first two seasons in the NHL. In that two-year span, Jagr suited up for 45 postseason contests, notching 37 points (14G-23A), which was sixth in the NHL over that stretch. Jagr shined during the 1992 Stanley Cup playoffs, recording a playoff career-high 24 points (11G-13A) in 21 games. In total, Jagr has dressed in 208 Stanley Cup Playoff contests, accumulating 201 points (78G-123A). He is one of just six players in NHL history with 200 or more playoff points.

The 10-time NHL All-Star has won a plethora of awards over the course of his NHL career. He is a five-time Art Ross Trophy winner (NHL Scoring Leader – 1995, ’98, ’99, ‘00, ’01), three-time Ted Lindsay Award winner (Most Outstanding Player – 1999, ’00, ’06), and was the recipient of the Hart Trophy (NHL MVP) in 1998-99 and Bill Masterton Trophy (Perseverance, Sportsmanship, and Dedication to Ice Hockey) in 2015-16. Jagr was named to the NHL’s First All-Star Team seven times (1995, ’96, ’98, ’99, ’00, ’01, ’06), the Second All-Star Team in 1996-97 and was a member of the All-Rookie Team in 1990-91.

Throughout NHL history, only Chris Chelios (26), Gordie Howe (26) and Mark Messier (25) have played more seasons in the NHL than Jagr’s 24. Of his 24 seasons, he notched 20-plus goals 19 times and 30-plus goals 15 times, which both rank third in league history. He’s also hit the 100-point plateau five times, and was the sixth-oldest player in NHL history to accomplish that feat during the 2005-06 season at 34 years and 31 days old.

The native of Kladno, Czechia has multiple accolades on the international stage. He’s won a gold medal (1998) and bronze medal (2006) at the Olympic Games, two gold medals (2005, ’10) and two bronze medals (1990, 2011) at the IIHF World Championship and a bronze medal at the 1990 IIHF World Junior Championship. Jagr is one of just 30 players in history to join the Triple Gold Club, which includes winning a Stanley Cup, an Olympic gold medal and an IIHF World Championship gold medal. He and Jiri Slegr are the only two players of Czech descent to accomplish this feat.

Jagr currently owns Rytiri Kladno of the Czech Extraliga and has been majority owner of the team since 2011-12.

3rd of december, junior year of highschool

jay planned a date for us today. as i finish getting ready a text pops up on my phone, hey baby, i’m outside. i grab my bag, phone and keys and go to meet jay outside with the biggest smile on my face. “jay!” i run into his arms, he gives me a big hug. “i missed you so much.” he says in the sweetest tone and as he gives me a kiss on my head, it starts snowing. i’ve always loved snow.

we arrive at this nice restaurant and he opens the car door for me and pulls flowers out of nowhere!? “thank you jay” i step out of the car and take his hand. he shuts the car door and leads me into the restaurant. “the reservation should be under the name park jongseong.” “right this way sirs.” the hostess says. jay leads me, holding my hand. i can’t help but smile, i love him so much.

after we eat dinner jay takes me for a walk in the park. i'm shivering, when did it get so cold? “you should’ve dressed warmer, you’re shaking.” it's that look, the look he gives me when i do something he finds cute or endearing. “hey! you’re supposed to give me a sweater in this situation!” he takes off his jacket and puts it on me. it’s so warm. i never want this date to end. snow still falling the sight of him here next to me, holding my hand, it’s my most favorite thing in the whole world. there's this small food truck right outside of the park that has the best hot chocolate in the whole world. "back on another date, aren't you two just darling." the owners are this cute little married old couple. they talk to us everytime we come around to buy food or drinks. "yes ma'am." jay tells her with a smile and i can't help but stare at him. how could a boy as beautiful as him be mine. we get our drinks and go to sit down at what we've deemed our bench.

when we sit down he gives me this look. it's a look i recognize, but one of which i am not familiar. "jay what's wrong..?" i'm scared to ask. he’s been acting weird. please don't say you're leaving me. "i.. need to tell you something." he takes my hands in his and looks at me ever so gently. he sounds... different. something happened i just know it. “what is it? jay, you can tell me anything, i’ll always be here for you my love.” “y/n you know i love you a lot right? i wish i could spend every moment i have with you.” i try to study his face to figure out what he’s trying to do. “yes jay i know you love me silly. i love you too, now tell me whats up.” he looks scared to tell me. he's never scared to tell me anything.

“y/n i’m moving away.” the words hit me like a truck. jay is leaving me. “what?” my voice is barely above a whisper and before i know it i’m crying. “you’re just moving a few hours away right?” i choke out between sobs. it starts snowing again. “i’m moving to the u.s.” my sobs worsen. “why.” “baby i love you so much i don’t want to but my parents...” “i haven’t even met your parents we kept our relationship a secret. not even my friends know that i have a boyfriend. my brothers haven’t even met you yet. what about our plans? what about everything we were going to do?” i can’t stand to look at his face anymore. “we need to break up.” “oh. okay.” i have no more tears left for now.

the drive back is silent. it’s still snowing it gives me this melancholy feeling. “y/n i’m sorry. i didn’t want to go but i have to.” “okay.” i open the door on my own when he drops me off. i don’t want to look at him any longer. “i love you.” he says before i step out. i look back at him. “i love you too.” my voice is soft, almost whisper like, but i know he heard it. i’m greeted by my brothers as soon as i step in the house. i can’t bear it any longer. as soon as they greet me i can no longer hold back my tears. “he left me. jay’s moving away.” all three of them come to give me hugs. yeonjun even offers to beat him up. i’m lucky to have brothers as loving as them.

as i look past my brothers out the window and through my tears i see the snow. i hate the snow.

Wanted to state this as it's fresh on the mind, and after a certain page is up public. This one is also pretty long so thanks♥ for any who reads this fully. I try to add visuals and break paragraphs to make it readable to an extent ♥ ----- So we are talking about these two but mostly of Rhovanion and Feaf for a long bit.

Remember guys Rhov and Feaf are aware that their is a raid happening under Ronja from two tribes, which have WAY more members then meteor tribe and are likely to basically have severe casualties.

Side note, I never understand author's logic of having a big group vs. a small group just so that the small group win just because out of pure luck and tom foolery of dumbing down a large pack of dogs. Like think about it, two tribes with fighting and tactical experiences. The meteor is still in training and literally 3 dogs left, the two tribes wanted the meteor tribe gone and claim the lands to expand their territory. Which makes sense cause more land means more territory, more members, more sources, more advantage and a better chance of survival. So instead of chasing them out, they just burn huts and disappears like a ghost with only a warning... ...what?? And then, get this, talk about how meteor been terrorizing Aedra forever. DOUBLE WHAT??!! WHERE WERE YOU GUYS WHEN THEY WERE A PROBLEM FROM THE START!!! are you telling me you sat around your asses doing nothing and let your friends and family be captured??? you didn't think to rally all the tribes together and take down meteor?? sent in spies in to infiltrate the camp?? or have them encounter Kargo and Ferah and have them wipe out the troops to weaken the fort and save the females, friends, families and males who're forced to work under a tyrant jarl???!!! this is what I mean stuff having to make sense on WHY they didn't attack a very big danger besides the beasts. Audience shouldn't have to fill in the pieces by scrounging for vague leftovers and broken parts, glue and patch it up to fill the crumbling image, the pieces should be their to set up and have them put in place. Other words like Hansel and Gretel, you have to have the breadcrumbs to lead you in where you need to go, if their is no breadcrumbs you're just leaving your audience to fend for themselves and be lost in the woods.

Fuss was a very good candidate, because he was a new member in a dystopian tribe. it didn't make sense, why a dog willingly joined a tribe unless they have that same mindset. Him sleeping with a heavily traumatized female; Vandi who literally birthed majority of the tribe, mated with them ( unwillingly mind you ) and then had another kid with the new recruit is very concerning. When she should honestly be healing and have a breather for just being used for majority of her life. Fuss and Vandi should have been a couple healing and bonding and be the motivating reason of him infiltrating the tribe and possible talked with the females after gaining a bit of trust before they become a solid partners. Not a secret love affliction from meeting literally the first kind dog that was just complacent staying in the tribe and have offspring not knowing someone would come to rescue them and not have their daughter; Aklejah suffer the same or worse fate. -----------

Ch. 13 Pg. 760 Another note, if it's not for the guild to intervene then why is Axilyah leading the guild to know of their to be a raid ONLY so Feaf and Rhov know to tell Ronja, You can't just show someone something and NOT expect an reaction. They could have found out about the raid for themselves and AxiIyah spotting them or they go to Axi and she tells them " The guild is not supposed to intervene of others affairs.'" endangering the guild and the capitol entirely. Which when you think about it Axilyah in some way is doing her job, don't get me wrong she became a douchbag when kiq. wants a reason for her to be and have her be discarded until he wants to use her again, but she's been doing her Job since the beginning, and solely to report to the capitol of the updates, up until it became a problem involving Forngrym. The Guild Job is to report and not intervene - that's it. She shouldn't be fired for reporting of two members willing to keep important information whether it be morally right or not, the Rifle from midnightguard did the same thing and HE didn't get any consequences for that PLUS the old male is no better then axilyah, he literally sent a PTSD dog out their with a bounty on their head and told a another dog dealing with a ghouls beast that can potentially cause a mass murder to run from their troubles and not deal with them nor ask close people for help - and yet he's supposed to be wise and considerate. But Axi gets the boot? suspension I can go by especially when the capitol should go to investigate before final decisions but fired?! and their is no ghouls to pose immanent danger to them and it's obvious both of the members will be in Whispervale or Shiverfall involving the Forngrym so not in danger at all...soooo...

Ch. 13 Pg. 814 - THIS DIALOGUE IS SO JARRING, LOOKING OVER IT NOW - AGAIN (X6)

Side note - no Sh$%# Feaf, you both would be in the capitol too if you didn't waste your time and took the night to have sex in the MIDDLE OF PUBLIC VIEWING FOR EVERYONE TO SEE ( and they did have sex, don't act 5 plus their was a patreon page of literally them doing the deed as an ' extra page' ) . Ghouls are shy to even do anything cause the author thinks burning the bodies will solve the issue but you still have millions upon MILLIONS of ghouls roaming around that DOESN'T have bodies to burn over 30+ years. They can still used the fire to light their way through the night, if Feaf and Rhov had the inkling of sense they would have kept the gem necklace to run through the night and not give it back until the capitols final say, Rhov I get cause he does not know but Feaf does.

This is also Jarring as well, and its because it's favoring Rhov because " I like you" what is their to like? you barely know the Dog and the last time you stated was because " he's cute" and he tried to peer in government documents. This is convenient just for convenience sake, it's convenient for the viscountess to not punish Rhovanion because he's the main character without flaws and dashingly handsome, when the man can't decide if he's a ladies man or a goofball.

Ch. 13 Pg. 816

Another Jarring conversation. Why is Nubia stating as though she knew Rhov enough that they would be together? For she was still working as a bounty hunter and was on expedition over southspears which takes days ( on timeline accuracy not kiq. accuracy ) ,nor any pages through the tribe for Feaf to introduce Rhovanion around then. After all - it's the first time seeing him and Him seeing Nubia. If Nubia states Feaf being a trouble maker like her would be...concerning since Nubia slept with two different brothers and lay hidden ( not really ) under the capitol when she started the drama and didn't make a choice. Feaf did gaslight Rhovanion 3 times and forgave him of lying AND covered for him which is causing trouble over two characters, all for she can be with him and sleep with him the same day or 2 RHOV broke up with Jahla. which Roamer did to Kargo of a day or two before sleeping with Rogio.

But Yay(?) since NUBIA and lahimana conveniently has taken the weight of notifying the tribe and confirming they will not be continuing as the guild. Rhovanion and Feaf should immediately head to Ronja and the MT to make sure everything is alright - again THEY ARE NOT TOLD THAT METEOR SURVIVED. they don't know she had pups but should to add how dire and anxious Rhovanion would be for them or have been told off-screen by Feaf. So they should head towards Ronja since she is family, she is a pack member of Asmundr - they can tell Ronja of finding Asmundr and then run back for they now know she is safe. Right?? Right??...

( Sigh ) - also Kiq did this same scenery but with rogio and Kargo coming home.

...... I guess Ronja is not family enough to be taken seriously.

literally LOOK!!! - took a full day to get their and judging from the map the travel is more then one day to traverse to Asmundr, Plus the speed of how fast they were going without rest nor stopping to mate. The fact that they full on throttle, no breaks, non-stop to see their family but not for one who's endangered of being murdered or worse astounds me. What's with family members dissing Ronja for literally just existing or endanger. Like guys Ronja would want to see her step dad, or see the family she was manipulated away to be shoehorned to take a role of leadership. Ronja could have EASILY place the tribe their for safety - it's really not that hard/complex. It's not " the characters have their own free will trololololol" NOOoo?? the Author has control over the story and how it should be. The author chose Roamer the main character to take a route of a selfish, insensible, coward, the author choose to keep a manipulative, abusive Ranach alive by plot armor - way over due and build a lust, bar tribe for him to sleep around and take reign over the tribe without earning it. The author chose to have characters not do anything and be complacent instead of proactive, going against what they were taught and their personalities. The author chose to not have a manuscript nor a way to remember certain events to follow consistently and a lot of stuff happening in the story is because some of their traits are projecting in the story, a self-insert indulged fantasy writing of their mindset/ideology and not because they want to tell a story. Certain mindsets are NOT bad per say nor like want to work on stories with topics? but certain one's like projecting prejudice hate , romanticizing certain topics or blatantly use them for shock value - you should probably revaluate what you're trying to do and if you're projecting an opinionated speech or a fan service to a...questionable niche. ^^'

Harry and The Dursleys: Examining His Response to his Abusers

This is a musing/rambling, because I have been rereading and I have been noticing shifts in how Harry responds to the Dursleys. It is largely a companion piece that expands the ideas that I touch upon in my meta Deconstructing Harry , and it is to underline how Harry was shaped by surviving and living in an abusive household, one that specifically posits the "golden child vs scapegoat" dynamic in the worst possible way. I have been doing a reread and I have a lot of thoughts!

Finding Safety

Harry's relationship with his abusers is quite understandably, fragmented. He is used to their neglect ("the house held no other sign another boy lived there") and prefers to stay out of their way, and he is used to being the scapegoat to Dudley's golden child. The stark difference in how the Dursleys treat Dudley vs himself contributes to the very little sense of self Harry begins the series with. This, of course, changes when he is removed from their presence and Hogwarts, specifically Ron and Hermione offer him the safety that is required for him to develop beyond his constant survival mode.

What was interesting to me beyond him being used to their neglect is that....at least in the first two books of the series, he wants their attention. He attempts at connection with his abusers ( he tells them about the dream with flying motorbike, he considers waking Dudley up at the hut before his birthday - to annoy him i.e just to have his attention, when Uncle Vernon says "now we know today is an important day" in CoS on Harry's birthday, Harry actually looks up, "hardly daring to believe it").

Why does he do this? Harry has been constantly told - repeatedly consciously and unconsciously that he is a burden on the Dursleys. So he copes - spotting danger ("Harry didn't look it but he was very fast") and evading, not draw attention to himself unless necessary, or trying to maintain a relationship with them in an effort for both need for connection - because they are all he has at the moment and he is a lonely boy, and to try and be safe from complete abandonment.

His abandonment issues inform both his aversion to conflict in personal relationships ( I talk about it in my meta about his relationship with conflict and evolution of his dynamic with Ron and Hermione here) as well as his interesting ambivalence to Ron and Hermione's budding romance in later books ("It wasn't as though he was surprised - but he wasn't sure how he felt about it .. ()...Would he be shut out for good?)

Ease With Violent Contact

There are plenty of implications of physical abuse Harry suffers throughout the series, referred to in the narrative in offhand ways ("You need more than good sense to liase with Uncle. A good sense of when to duck more like" in OOTP, "Long experience had told Harry it is best to stay out of Uncle Vernon's arms reach" in HBP) and we see instances of Vernon threatening him ( Uncle Vernon advanced on him with first raised. "You'll get the stuffing knocked out of you, won't you?" in POA, and his promise to "flay Harry within inch of his life" in beginning chapters of CoS after Dobby crashed the pudding).

Reading Marauders Dynamics in SWM

The fact that SWM happened after the werewolf prank lends an interesting colour to the dynamics we see in text.

We'd like to start with the two differing ways Remus responded to werewolf jokes. Number one:

Did you like question ten, Moony?' asked Sirius as they emerged into the Entrance Hall.

'Loved it, said Lupin briskly. 'Give five signs that identify the werewolf.Excellent question.'

'D'you think you managed to get all the signs?' said James in tones of mock concern.

'Think I did,' said Lupin seriously, as they joined the crowd thronging around the front doors eager to get out into the sunlit grounds. 'One: he's sitting on my chair. Two: he's wearing my clothes. Three: his name's Remus Lupin.'

Wormtail was the only one who didn't laugh.

I'm bored,' said Sirius. 'Wish it was full moon.'

'You might,' said Lupin darkly from behind his book. 'We've still got Transfiguration, if you're bored you could test me. Here ...' and he held out his book.

In the first instance, Remus feeds into the werewolf joke and laughs at his own dry joke - and in the second instance, he reacts slightly negatively.

We know from what Remus says in HBP that he is not averse to these jokes. He laughs when Harry says fiercely, "But you are normal - you've just got a problem!". Remus says in nostalgia-tinted affection, "Sometimes you remind me a lot of James. He called it my 'furry little problem' in company. Many people were under the impression I owned a badly behaved rabbit."

The difference, especially given the light of what happened in the werewolf prank (James saves Snape and by extension Remus, Sirius endangers him), is the presence of James. (Reference our meta here as to understand why he sees James and Sirius as his protectors in wolf form, which James unconsciously still fulfills here)

Remus feeds into the joke when James is around, and the moment James is off doing his own thing with the snitch, Sirius' own reference is met slightly passive aggressively. Remus is simultaneously telling Sirius his boundary is being crossed while redirecting his boredom somewhere else (hey, test me?).

[An important addition by @dragonlordette here: The dark "you might" response could be seen as Remus remembering the prank. The first joke is a joke among friends about his condition, the second one is reminder that Sirius still doesn't truly grasp how much danger he put Remus in during the prank. Hence "you might" - like, reminders that Sirius Doesn't Get It aren't appreciated the way other jokes are. It serves as a marker of how Remus might feel Sirius has burned him before - he is forgiven, and still loved, but it's not forgotten. Whereas the way he talks about James forever demonstrates that he clearly feels James never let him down.]

Cat goes further to describe Remus handing the book to Sirius as "a handout before the other person can respond to the initial negative response". (Remus and his hyper awareness of social situations is underused in fics!)

The third werewolf reference looks very different in the light of POA:

'How thick are you, Wormtail?' said James impatiently. 'You run round with a werewolf once a month--'

'Keep your voice down,' implored Lupin.

Yes, Remus is reacting to his secret, but given he just made the joke about himself being a werewolf ("Three, his name is Remus Lupin"), his primary concern feels like something else. He seems more sensitive about the Animagus secret - it is the same fact he actively hides from Dumbledore in POA, manifesting in one of the worst things he did: not informing Dumbledore of that secret when he still believed Sirius to be a mass murderer.

Here is how he describes it in POA:

"All this year, I have been battling with myself, wondering whether I should tell Dumbledore that Sirius was an Animagus. But I didn't do it. Why? Because I was too cowardly. It would have meant admitting that I'd betrayed his trust while I was at school, admitting that I'd led others along with me. . . and Dumbledore's trust has meant everything to me. He let me into Hogwarts as a boy, and he gave me a job when I have been shunned all my adult life, unable to find paid work because of what I am. And so I convinced myself that Sirius was getting into the school using dark arts he learned from Voldemort, that being an Animagus had nothing to do with it.."

Moving on, it's also interesting that when Sirius declares he is bored, both Remus and James offer ways out.

Remus asks him to test him (which he rejects), while James offers going after Snape (which he accepts). This dynamic establishes Sirius as the instigator - he begins the werewolf joke ("did you like question ten, Moony?"), he is the one who is bored which both James and Remus try to address. However, when it comes to attacking Snape, after Sirius accepts, James takes the lead whereas Sirius falls back on a supporting role.

Peter also is exclusively attached to James through the scene - cheering him on, which James enjoys and doesn't challenge Sirius's disparaging, "Put that away, will you. Before Wormtail wets himself in excitement." (Peter turns pink, and James does put the snitch away with, "If it bothers you" xD)

Essentially, Sirius keeps pushing boundaries (begins werewolf joke, is bored, the prank), but it is James who sets them (joins in the first joke which makes Remus join in without any passive aggressiveness, offers the attack for boredom, and has his actions save his everyone from dire consequences in the prank).

James Potter is essentially the center of the Marauders, who is everyone's favourite. Sirius is James' favourite - which other two are aware of.

I know it's often debated how powerful Harry is meant to be (aVeRaGe vs ExTraOP) - but I just finished reading Goblet of Fire, where both Barty Crouch Jnr (implied to have struggled with this for years) and Barty Crouch Snr struggle with their Imperius curses (for months, and he is still struggling with it when Harry meets him in the forest).

And yet, Harry throws it off the first time someone tries it on him. And if the spell's strength lies in the power of the caster, Harry throws it off when Voldemort casts it on him. It's not something the book draws attention to as much, but this little feral boy is a force.

This turned out a little spicier than I anticipated! Minors may want to stay away as this ends up as sort of a fade-to-black smut piece 😂 I am not proud of myself. I also do not know what is being celebrated in said party, it's just a citywide get together for the fine folks of Riften!

Nobody could celebrate quite like the people of Riften.

The town square had been transformed over the course of the afternoon. Glowing orbs of magic hovered above the plaza, painting the usually dingy city in a cool, pleasant light for once. The Black-Briar meadery and the local tavern had set up shop in the marketplace, selling all manner of food and drink, but mostly mead.

Jarl Laila Law-Giver even called upon the Bard’s college to send some of their finest musicians to grace the event, but they were drowned out by dozens of drunken conversations, each growing louder by the minute as the guests struggled to let their voices be heard.

Teldryn pushed his way through the crowd, silently kicking himself in the ass for letting Wren out of his sight. He hadn’t seen her in nearly half an hour, and she would be awfully hard to find seeing as he had downed a few too many bottles of mead himself, and the fact that she was so damn tiny. She wasn’t in line at any of the stalls, nor in the small gathering in front of the performing bards.

Maybe she went home, he thought. He supposed it would be worth a try checking there, at least.

The alleys were much less crowded, with only a few straggling partygoers finding their way down them, likely trying to find a more quiet place to talk. One particularly drunk man was heaving his guts in front of the general goods store. Teldryn held his breath as he walked by, and thanked the Gods he wouldn’t have to clean that up in the morning.

Across the bridge in front of him lay Honeyside, nice and snug in the shadows against the outer walls of the city. The windows were dark, and a tug on the doorhandle confirmed that she hadn’t been here.

“Damn it.” He sighed heavily and paced for a moment in front of the door before leaning against it. She would return at some point, and he would be here when she decided to show. At least the sky was clear, so he tilted his head back to watch the stars while he waited.

Something small and warm grazed against the small of his back, and the familiar scent of dragon’s tongue flowers and honey struck him. A smile worked its way to his lips and he glanced down to find exactly what he had been looking for.

“There you are,” he purred. Wren gazed back at him with heavy eyelids and a grin as wide as her face, a nearly empty bottle of Black-Briar reserve in one hand. “I’d been looking all over for you, where’d you go?”

“My garden.” Wren downed the last of her drink and set the bottle aside, then placed her hand on his chest. “I wanted to have some quiet time,” she said, staring at the buttons of his shirt. Her fingers unhooked the top two and she pulled the fabric aside and let out a happy little hum.

Teldryn drew in a sharp breath as her lips pressed against his bare skin, and he forced out his thoughts as calmly as he could. “I was worried, little dragon.”

Wren opened her eyes and looked up at him, not taking her mouth away from his chest even to speak. “Why?”

“I saw how much you had to drink, you could have-” He let his head fall back and sighed as she tugged clumsily at the waistband of his pants and continued nipping at his flesh. “...could have fallen into the canals.”

She chuckled against him. “But I didn't.”

A faint roar of laughter erupted from the town center which soon faded away, leaving the dull murmur of the crowd and the faintest hint of music floating down the alley toward them. Teldryn wondered what fun they were missing out on, but he was glad to be away from the noise.

“So…” he began, pushing his fingers through her hair. Wren stopped her little bout of kisses and rested her head on his chest, his open shirt fluttering as she released a hot breath down the front of it. Teldryn smiled. "Want to head back to the party?”

"No." She slowly pulled away from him and fumbled through her pockets, then pulled out her key, jiggled it in the lock, and the door opened with a satisfying creak.

Wren stepped inside, then turned back to him with a look that sent a ripple of desire through him. Her pupils were blown wide, leaving only a thin ring of crimson on the black of her eyes, and even by the dim light of the moons he could see her ears and cheeks had grown purple. Teldryn's pulse quickened as she took his hand, and he followed her inside for their own celebration.

I just found a really interesting thing.

Some time ago I saw a dude who counted how many panels each One piece character had in the whole series. I thought it was pretty interesting and decided to do the same for HxH, it seemed like a fine way to waste time during quarantine and also an opportunity to reread certain parts of the manga. I thought some of you might find it interesting as well so here it is.
