Lucas: I guess in a way, the same that you and Liam were talking about, that if it hadn’t been for everything bad that happened back then, I wouldn’t be here, nor would Liam. River: I know. -he gently wrapped his arms around his sunlight as they stood there, watching the grave together.- Princess gave me the greatest gift he could, another chance at happiness and I was twice the luckiest man to find that happiness.  Lucas: It feels strange though, to know, that what I am is not what died that day, nor him.. River: You sunlight, are you. Nothing else. -he rested his chin on sunlight's shoulder.- And like I told our son, what my life could have been if none of this had happened, no one can say, all we know is this reality, and what we have here. And here, I am happy. Lucas: And I am happy, happy to have this life. -he smiled softly at the grave.- And for that, I have someone I never met to thank.

He looked at the light in his hands, he had talked with Chris and Hayle, asking if they would mind if he did his own little version of what they had been doing all these years. Lucas: I’d like to do this once a year, on the day we found out that he was the reason we have each other. Would that be okay? River: Of course sunlight, we’ll do it together. 

They stood there together, in silence for a little, then Lucas put the light on the top of the tombstone, putting a hand on the side of it, caressing it gently, River putting his hand on top of his sunlights.

I think it's really interesting that what makes Phos question whether they're human or not is how fast they learn and not that they just created art, THE thing about humanity that's broadly considered unique, along with language.
