just watched the amazing digital circus and honestly i get the jax hype he's very gender

see I'm not really an anime person as a general rule. it just... doesn't usually appeal to me? and yet, here I am, seriously considering watching both Trigun and FMA bc of tumblr mutuals.

#it's not that I have anything against anime btw! ouueeehh we're back to my corny love letters like last time 💜 again absolutely NO pressure reading these, because it WILL get lengthy 💜 this also serves as a personal love letter that i can archive!

ahh, steven st.one. a wild card in my f/o list. i never thought i'd find myself to like him... i've always tried my best to avoid the pretty boy design after i've gotten older which is why i was oddly in denial during my early steven days hehe... the earliest memory i have of him is just me battling him in my ruby emulator back in the 4th grade - but i don't think i actually remembered him too well, i only thought he looked like a silly anime version of the classical composer be.ethoven and tbh, i still like to think he does look like him in the rse style lolll 💜

for the whole, actual story - it was just last year - i was reading the r/s arc, of course. it was one of those days in school where i had nothing much to do and snuck my phone to read manga to pass some time. at some point, my classmate joined to read with me - it was at this moment where steven debuts properly and it caught my classmate by Surprise. she thought he looked very handsome! to which i teased her... strangely enough, this exchange impacted me? maybe it's because someone acknowledged what i was doing and even bothered to briefly read along with me - so in a way steven kinda bookmarked that memory.

so after that exchange, i just kept on reading. everytime he had something to say, i couldn't help but just stare at his face? he looked nice, i guess? he's also very gentle and polite... i kept this thought of mine for quite sometime until i was discussing the manga arc with my p.okespe mutual and he mentioned him. i somewhat confessed he looked nice and that was the biggest mistake i've ever done because what my friend did after was absolutely blow me with art after art of the pretty rock collector and i was STRUGGLING. it ultimately came down to this one cute panel in the o.ras chapter where he was blushing and I wasn't the same person since then 🚶🚶🚶and funnily enough, i told myself I wasn't going to fall for anyone because of the manga and whoopedoo p.okespe!steven my beloved the greatest man ever. i mean i love the game counterpart as well, they're nearly identical - it's just the manga that totally swept me... sighhhh

steven is such a nice character to begin with, he's honestly a very humble and nice champion. he's not showy about his identity and would rather be alone by himself to indulge in what he wants. he is willing to give up a very respectable position in the po.kemon league just to pursue his interests and with that i see a man not after power and fame but a man who just wants to find joy in what he does even if it demotes him. on top of that, he's just a sweet gentleman. he was raised well of course, and you can see it clearly in his acts in the story. i love him very much for that and who wouldn't want those traits?

i was really absolutely embarrassed to be all over this guy at first - it took a whole month for me to actually share to my blog about how i liked steven and took awhile to adjust to that fact that i opened up about it 😭 but the community was very kind and supportive about the pairing and if i'm being honest, i think stevaide made a super lasting impact on my blog recently and it's really so comforting to picture them as a young loving married couple with ruby. it made me feel unashamed with what i can do with my silly ships. i'm still very glad for the endless support for steven and jaide.

soo, yes. happy memoryshipping 💜💚 thank you for making my times of struggle more bearable if not perfect and thank you to everyone who enjoys this ship even if it was just a little bit :]

Some of my Favorite Manga That Deserve an Anime Adaptation

Red River (28 volumes)

😍😍😍 !!!!!!!! *gestures dramatically at the screen* I just!!! I cannot scream this enough!!!! This forgotten gem stole my heart in 2020 and I cannot get over it. In a word, this series is: passionate. Exquisite. UNDERRATED. 😭😭😭 It's a historical isekai romance that is full of political intrigue, erotica, brilliant characterization, GORGEOUS art, and great action. This manga is the reason why I wrote 3 out of the 8 non-crossover Red River fics that exist on AO3 lmaooooo. IT'S JUST SOOOOO GOOD!!!! I never finished a series longer than 7 volumes within less than 2 weeks, and completely online, no less! It's a damn shame that it's so hard finding even physical copies of the manga to own, because dammit, I NEED!!!! 😍😍😍🥺🥺🥺 I would straight up CRY from joy if an anime adaptation was ever announced skgjfdfkjgdf (but I doubt it'd ever happen 😭)

MAO (14 volumes and counting!)

I mean, it's only the legendary Rumiko Takahashi's latest work, COME ON. It has Takahashi's usual touch in the art style, themes, and motifs, but is also wonderfully refreshing, with all new memorable characters and low-key one of her BEST main ships of all time. The game's afoot, and there's mysteries to unravel with deeper conspiracies beneath them all, all with a hot immortal doctor and a feisty girl who shares his curse with a cat demon thing (a byoki, to be precise). WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE?!

FAKE (7 volumes)

Yes, there's an OVA 2-part special. No, it's not enough. This bitch is thirsty for MORE. 😍😍😍👀👀👀 Yuri on Ice may be the first "yaoi" to steal my heart (I only put quotations because there's no porn lol), but FAKE is the first "official" yaoi to make me SQUEEEE while reading. Yes, this older series is not free from some of the unfortunate trappings of older yaoi series (*cough* noncon issues! *cough cough*), but I think what makes it work is that it's never pushed too far. And honestly, the mysteries surrounding their work as private detectives was so compelling, that it was almost like they never had time for shenanigans.... until after they fell in love 👀👀👀 Or, rather, after Ryo FINALLY accepted that he's gay AF for Dee lmao. Also: points for Dee being an openly bisexual man, who constantly corrects those who call him a homosexual. For the 90's??? That's surprisingly progressive.

Angel Sanctuary (20 volumes)

Yes, there's a 3 episode OVA. But it only "covers" the first 2 volumes out of TWENTY. This series is absolutely gorgeous: the Gothic inspired art, every panel is just dripping in angst, detail, and passion. The incest takes a backseat for the REAL drama, a savage dressing down of the hypocrisy of Christian ideals in a world where even the realm of Heaven is corrupt and full of sin. Dark, angsty, deliciously sinful, and a thoughtfully cynical yet inspiring commentary on what makes us human (even if you're a devil or an angel), it is an absolute CRIME that this series was never made into a full-length anime. If other controversial anime can be made/adapted in this day and age, then why not give this classic, forgotten gem a try, anime studios?! 😤

The Gentlemen's Alliance Cross (11 volumes)

Arina Tanemura's art is simply *chef's kiss* She has such a Shoujo Style that is unparalleled. Two are of her earlier works were made into beloved early 2000's magical girl anime series: Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne and Full Moon wo Sagashite. So why not THIS?! It is such a deliciously absurd Drama that is addicting and frustrating as hell. It's also just a truly touching tale of how family baggage can be so damaging to people's perceptions on love, relationships, and self-worth. It's a series that's near and dear to my heart, and I'd love to see it animated one day.

Kitchen Princess (10 volumes)

This adorable series is 90% fluff, 10% ANGST, with some of the cutest art styles imaginable. If you're itching for a series about food that doesn't go batshit like Food Wars (I love that show, but I can understand that it can be, er, overwhelming lol), Kitchen Princess invites you in for tea and cake and holds your hand as you eat delicious desserts that warm your soul. It is just a sweet, sweet story, with an abundance of fluff, but enough angst and hurt/comfort to balance out the cutesyness. Definitely a comfort food series that NEEDS AN ADORABLE, WHOLESOME ANIME AND CUTESY SOUNDTRACK, DAMMIT!!!!

Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden (12 volumes)

If the original series can get an anime, then SO CAN THE PREQUEL, DAMMIT!!!! Genbu Kaiden took what is good about Fushigi Yuugi, and made it better. The protagonist is a thousand times more likable and stronger, both physically and emotionally. The dramatic scenes are far more effective and don't rely on Soap Opera BS. And the art has improved! GENBU KAIDEN DESERVES MORE LOVE!!!

Arisa (12 volumes)

Don't let the cutesy art fool you: this is one of the darkest series I ever read that didn't kill off the entire cast. With the right soundtrack and animation studio, this could be a downright chilling show to watch, without resorting to Higurashi levels of terror and violence. I don't Do horror at all, but the psychological thrills and twists of this dark series kept me invested, frightened, alarmed, and entertained until the very end. I would love to see it animated one day.... 👀

Shinobi Life (13 volumes)

THE BODYGUARD ROMANCE BEFORE YONA OF THE DAWN MADE IT COOL!!!! 😍😍😍 Lol, but in all seriousness, this series is SO GOOD!!! Now that I finally own all of the physical copies published in English (which is only half, because this world is cruel 😭😭😭), I cannot WAIT to dive back into this world of time-traveling ninjas and reincarnated princesses and adorkable relationship shenanigans, with an added bonus of backstory ANGST.

Alice in the Country of Joker: Circus and Liar's Game (7 volumes)

Listen. LISTEN. I DEMAND AN ANIME BASED OFF THIS MIND-BOGGLING TRASH, and no, not just that joke of a "movie" that is even somehow even more incoherent than the countless manga spin-offs. Not all of us have the patience or understanding to play the games, pleeeeeease 😭😭😭

Fairy Cube (3 volumes)

First of all: fairies. Second of all: this tiny 3-volume series is such a clusterfuck of chaos, lightning fast plot points, that if stretched out to even a 12 or 13 episode series would probably make it coherent AND give justice to the story.

Alice 19th (6 volumes)

Same logic to Fairy Cube: I just want someone to take this mind-fuck of a series, because, in the right studio and director's hands, it'd be soooo amazing!

Otomen (17 volumes)

Honestly, I barely remember much of this adorkable series, other than the very refreshing and honest takes on gender, gender roles, and gender identity and how all are similar and yet separate. It would be nice to see more representation in mainstream anime, even now.

RG Veda (10 volumes)

Once again: a 2-episode OVA does not an anime make. Literally I just love the art and mythologies. And it's one of CLAMP's earliest work, and is low-key their most gorgeous. Imagining this story animated to today's standards would be *chef's kiss* AMAZING!!! 😍

Kilala Princess (5 volumes)

Let me make one thing absolutely clear: this will never happen. Ever. Never ever ever. Not in my lifetime, certainly, as long as copyright laws exist. If Kingdom Hearts is never gonna get an anime/animated show adaptation, then this cutesy manga sure as hell won't. But GODS I WANT IT!!!!!! 😍😍😍🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭 It is every childhood Disnerd's self-insert dream come true sdkjgdjfgr

Summary:

What a unique game. The whole concept was super cute and I am surprised the oracle games aren't that popular. There are many aspects inspired by OOT and MM such as the Hand in the toiled and some of the enemies but it definitely takes even more inspo from the 2d games. There's a lot of similarities between this game and the Minish cap! It was super cute and it really felt like they let the developers explore silly ideas. For one, they included both river and ocean Zora which I believe is one of the only games to do so. It also has bonus content if you play its sister game, seasons. The dungeons had a good difficulty to them and the bosses and mini had really cool designs - honestly designs you probably wouldn't see in any other game. There was also a good amount of down time content for when you aren't in the dungeons with really fun scenery and characters. Speaking of, the character designs were super cute and unique since they a different pixel art style! (Before I knew this was inspired by Link's Awakening). I highly recommend this game to anyone with a 3DS (rip you can't get it anymore). It is absolutely worth it. A Zelda fan must!!

TLOVM S2 Episodes 1-3 Ramblings

AHHH! So fucking stoked for this season!

EP. 1

- This is incredible. They’ve managed to translate the absolute terror of this moment so well.

- Uriel’s death... fucking gruesome..

- Interesting that the main focus is on Umbrasyl, with enough Raishan and Thordak sprinkled in to establish their status in the conclave.

- They managed to capture the “19 Misses!?” moment so beautifully. I love seeing how these game mechanics adapt from game to screen.

- Missed moment from the campaign: Vorugal collapsing the top of Allura’s tower. Vorugal doesn’t make a direct attack until VM is at their keep.

- The looting of the remains of Gilmore’s shop. Poor Scanlan being left with a broom. That can’t possible be useful for anything at all.

- The adventures of Grog and Kraven Edge begin... this will go well.

- The snowflakes as Vorugal approaches. Nice touch.

- Nothing but respect for Keyleth in this house.

- Green-eyed little girl... that’s not suspicious at all...

- And a moment of perspective for Vox Machina. Love seeing a team come together.

- Liam as Vorugal was a fantastic choice.

EP. 2

- I love the visualizations of their magic so much. Each character has their own colour scheme and style and I love it so much.

- Matt as the guard to Vasselheim.

- Bidet.

- Caduceus easter egg when Keyleth mentions the Wildmother. Which makes sense given that Caduceus is the only member of the Mighty Nein that would be an adult and not a small child at this time. Now I need a story about his adventures in Tal’Dorei.

- Raven Queen!

- Green-eyed individual pointing them to the Slayer’s Take...

- Forgot how much of an asshole Kash comes across as...

- The design of the Slayer’s Take is amazing.

- Love how long it took them to realize they lost their fucking Goliath...

- That combat wheelchair is fucking badass and I love it so much

- Grog and Earthbreaker Groon. One of my favourite moments of the campaign.

- “I just wanna put her in my pocket” I would also love a little pocket Pike giving me guidance and fucking up shitty people I deal with at work.

- “Where does your strength come from?” The ease with which Earthbreaker Groon can launch Grog across the room is amazing.

- Osysa the Sphinx... isolating them... reading their deepest fears and insecurities... fuck... Also the animation for her very clearly separating her as a being older than time.

- “No one cares about you. I’m no different.” Fucking. Brutal. And another wonderful foreshadow to Scanlan’s path later on.

- Pike my beloved.

- Interesting that they didn’t have Grog reach the answer to where he gets his strength in this encounter.

- This animation for the story of the vestiges is gorgeous.

- Viktor the Black Powder Salesman... I look forward to this recurring character. Also I’m really glad Matt is voicing him because I don’t think anyone else coudl capture that particular unhingedness...

EP. 3

- “A bird? How does that help!?” Well at least we’re still at the “thinking rationally about Wild Shape” point in time.

- I need Zahra to have a scene in every single episode.

- Canonical making fun of Purvan’s name. Love it.

- Grog’s Beard! I love the Travis squeal laugh.

- Zahra’s eye-twitch.

- “Do not go far from me.” Just stab me in the fucking heart why don’t you...

- Baby twins! Love these flashbacks we didn’t get to see in game.

- Fucking Syldor. Hate him so much. Feed him to Trinket.

- Separating the twins as well as Zahra and Kash, like the original Trial of the Take episodes.

- Grog going absolutely feral with Kraven Edge... I can’t fucking wait to see the culmination of this partnership.

- The Ladies of Critical Role continue to remind me of how gay I am...

- Pike’s concern over Grog’s change in behaviour in battle... this is going to hurt.

- Deathwalker’s Ward...

- They did change this ever so slightly. In campaign, Taliesin/Percy intentionally touched the armour without thinking about checking for traps. In the show, Percy accidentally touches it while distracted. Both resulting in the same devastating effect.

- Fuck that happened fast.

- The black feathers... the Matron of Ravens is coming...

- Liam... my heart can’t handle Vax’s sobbing...

What and amazing and brutal start to the second season of this show. I can only hope they continue to get picked up for the rest of Vox Machina’s story once the Conclave is done in season 3.

listen it's like day three of Witch From Mercury brain poisioning and i am still not over it so I'm gonna go over why I think this gundam series specifically is a big deal.

1. THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM

obviously the most prominent feature of this series is the female protagonist, and the precisely-delivered normalisation of queerness in this gundam timeline. lots of people have already said lots of words about it, so we'll yadda yadda here.

2. WAR NEVER CHANGES

Gundam, as has been pointed out again and again, is a very politically-charged anime franchise. The original was a critique of imperialist japan dressed up as a critique of nazi germany, and pulled no punches when it depicted war as a horrific and brutal practice. Subsequent seasons have been just as unflinching and not shyed away from showing human conflict as cruel, wasteful, and pointless. Yes, the robots ARE cool, but not when they are used as tools of brutal oppression and ethnic cleansing by a totalitarian state.

This is important to do, but it has gone on for so long that a sort of outrage fatigue has been engendered in Gundam viewers. The constant parade of warcrimes, state-sanctioned atrocities, and brutal murders of beloved characters have achieved meme status among fans, and people aren't taking the biting political commentary as seriously. People need a break, and it's my understanding that Build Divers was an attempt to provide that with harmless Angelic Layer-style fun (more on Build Divers later).

While Witch From Mercury's prologue has shown us that this series will not be shying away from the traditional depictions of war as an atrocity, it looks to be focusing on a more low-stakes school life plot that borrows elements and pacing from shoujo anime - especially with so many female cast members. There is definitely an over-arching anticapitalist aesop looming in the background, but the moment-to-moment action is mostly low stakes highschool drama about the new girl and her attempts to fit in (and why the Cool Robots are part of it). This is a refreshing change of pace for Gundam.

3. THE THREE MAGIC NUMBERS ON THE BACK OF YOUR PARENTS' CREDIT CARD

Back to Build Divers. The reason why Witch From Mercury is notable as a palate-cleanser over Build Divers (which as far as I know contains 100% less attempted shuttle bombings) is that it is not selling gunpla as aggressively.

Yes, I know. Gundam exists to sell the toys, and the robots look Like That because it's easier to make little plastic figurines for them. Merchandising is baked into this franchise at the deepest levels, regardless of how important the anti-war political commentary is, and there is no getting away from it. However! That does not stop Build Divers being a shamlessly naked cash grab that attempts to drum up demand for mass re-releases of older kits. Build Divers is literally about buying and playing with gunpla in a way that makes it clear to customers (including kids) that this is a pastime they should pick up in real life.

It's something other anime franchises like Beyblades and B-Daman have also done, yes, but in these other cases there was not already a large and established industry to provide complimentary marketing and worm their fingers into peoples' brains until their wallets opened. Build Divers was on the nose, and was uncomfortably close to being a 30-minute commercial for gunpla. Witch From Mercury's primary focus is back on the plot, the characters, and the storytelling, which makes it much more digestible if you are not ten years old.

TL;DR:

WFM gay, novel palate cleanser, less cringe than BD.

viewing is mandatory.

13. A character or ship you haven’t drawn/written for yet but would like to someday?

MegaRod 100%. They're one of my favorite ships in the TF fandom but god I can't believe I've never made content for them ;-;

I have one spicy wip that's been laying around in my folders since 2022, and was going to make a comic for a zine I had to drop out of with hints of MegaRod but it's all stuff I never got around to or never finished. I need to fix that in the future >:)

They are my beloveds who are such beautiful mirrors of one another, on top of I relate so heavily with their characters for one reason or another so they mean a lot to me <3

15. Have you noticed your style change over time?

Absolutely! It's much easier to notice the changes over a larger amount of time like my art now vs my 2021 art. You can see the drastic change in my lineart and especially with my shape work and how saturated my colors are now pictured below vvv

But there's definitely still some changes I've been noticing here and there in the past year, much more subtle and much more gradual. I've been improving on my speed and simplification of designs into my style, especially with Transformers. And I've also been getting a lot better with backgrounds/actually adding backgrounds in now bdavbdkvb not to mention, experimenting with lighting and learning about things like sub-surface scattering, reflective lighting, ambient lighting and a whole bunch of pretty overwhelming concepts tbh sdbksdbv

This year so far has mostly been a lot of experimenting and much more experimenting to come and I'm excited to see what my style evolves into next : )

23. Has your favourite character/ship changed over time?

Probably more my understanding of my favorite characters and ships.

I still ADORE MegOp and the mix of tragedy, pining and fluff it is but my understanding and interpretation of their characters has changed drastically from when I first entered this fandom at 18, now 23.

There were definitely influences from my anime fandom days where I thought "Orion is so baby and is a precious cinnamon roll who couldn't hurt a fly, lookit how smol he is with his big beefy warrior boyfriend who protecs him" to "Orion is a capable character who, while naive about the world, could be just as smart as Megatronus and in doing so created a whole other faction that inadvertently worked alongside a corrupt political system that Megatronus was trying to deconsruct" (Also not hating on anyone who still likes character interpretations like the first, it's just not my thing that much anymore personally kjbdvksbv)

I still like the concept of big beefy warrior boyfriend protecting his small librarian (cause c'mon that's just fun ksdbvksdb), but I merge it with my larger understanding of the classism themes, alongside the inherent religious themes of Optimus becoming a Prime that I'm such a bitch for kdbsdkjbv

Same goes for Rodimus in MTMTE. He went from "Haha he's just like me fr, lookit this ADHD baby who can't focus for a second haha he always forgets paperwork and has never done wrong I don't see how someone can hate him" to "Rodimus has done so much wrong and that's what makes him an insanely relatable character. People hate him because he's genuinely fucked up so bad and placed blame on everyone but himself because he wants so badly to be the hero of the story instead of the person everyone sees as the 'fuck up'. The fact he keeps trying to live up to a title that's bullshit and to a person (Optimus) who doubts himself every second of the day and doesn't see how fucked his own lineage actually is because the person he looks up to most is hiding things just like him and has fucked up just like he has, as has every other prime before him. But damn it, he's going to try and do better this time, he has to. Also he's so ADHD-coded it's not even funny."

Tldr: I merge the simpler concepts I loved when I was younger with the more complex concepts I love now that I'm older to create a nuanced narrative of the characters and their relationships while being a self indulgent fangirl skbgsbbihuft

Just got through Alien Stage, just the MVs, yeah, that doomed yuri is doomed yuriing. Maybe it doesn't have the same all-encompassing impact as it seems to on the rest of the fandom, who I remember not being okay after round 6, just because I don't have a lot of the background and I haven't been waiting for 3 months for a new video but I enjoyed it

The art's gorgeous, the music slaps (I'm gonna check spotify for the individual songs for sure), and just, overall, really beautiful pieces of work. Plus, I'm definitely interested in this webcomic-meets-fully-rendered-anime sort of animatic/storyboard style, it's kinda novel, I like it a lot

Im all about plotting, and while i have a few basic plots, id love partner feedback to help build something really cool! Whether thats AU, pre-game, post-game, canon divergence, nsfw or sfw, anything is game.

Conversationally im pretty lax (obvs) but while rping i do need someone at least semi-lit. I only rp in paragraph format (sorry, its just the only style im comfortable with). Also, we all have lives and jobs and such, and while theoretically id like to be able to respond several times in one day, that doesn't usually happen lol. On a low day i might not reply at all, or just once (though this is not common, and i will do my best to let my partner know if it’s gonna be a day like that). Short term or long term is fine, im not picky.

I tend to be friends (or at least friendly) with my rp partner(s), so if its okay I’d like to make a server just for my partner and i to rp in so we can have different channels just for chatting/plotting/rping whatever. Im totally cool with doubling up or both of us playing multiple characters. I know ashley is pretty integral to leon and luis, so i have no problem being her for a scene or something as needed. Same thing with characters like chris or claire, ect. I dont mind taking the role of leon or luis, i dont have a preference– this will be the first time im rping either of them (though ive been rping in general since i was, like, eleven) so the first few replies will be a learning curve for me regardless of trying to get their personalities down and whatever.

In high school his physique could be attributed to the myriad of physically demanding hobbies he cycled through (football in particular when he started dreaming of going pro rip to that) and work on Randy’s Fuckass Farm (fuck u randy). But when he’s older he gets softer, sure (best pillow ever) but keeps working out JUST so he can hold every animal ever like a BABY!!! If you want an approximate art reference of young adult OJV Stan, @bunytime ’s drawings on here for SURE! Like he is tall and strong and BUILT FOR HUGS!!!

Blue blue BLUE eyes like not scary stare into your soul but this soft deep shade that reminds you of calm waters and gemstones peeking from the depths of the shadows of his brows. Just gentle waves and clear dusk light.

Ojv Stan didn’t go through the ever popular bleached hair headcanon, most of my Stans didn’t, but this one bc on the brink of a SadSack episode he mentioned getting Kenny to pierce his ears and dye his hair and (this was before they were dating) Kyle was like NO!!! Bc he always loved Stan’s classic all american look and knows him well enough to know that he would’ve hated it a few days later.

DIMPLES!! TWO OF EM!! And his smile is SO sweet his whole face splits omg my sweet boy!!! And he has tiny, almost imperceptible random scars in various places from childhood tomfoolery, especially on his hands bc he sometimes rivals Kenny in recklessness, and those hands are so rough but so TENDER when they touch you and he’s so aware of his own size and inherent ruggedness that completely juxtaposes his personality and it’s so!!! (God forgive me I’m thinking about nsfw ojv style hcs now)

Aight so OJV Stan IS greasy to some extent, c’mon he’s very Boy, but (this is important) only when he’s having a rough time mentally. Like he’s one of those people where while his horrendous lack of style doesn’t change much, you can tell by the stubble and the gross hair when he’s not doing well. Uhhh later down the timeline he has a beard tho. The bear jokes definitely emerge.

And for his style choices ohhhhh my god this man CANNOT fuckin dress!!! I’m constantly putting ojverse Stan in my clothes bc WHAT is this guy doing wearing the “Bigfoot is real I made s’mores with him” shirt and he is GENUINELY confused when he can’t wear jeans to something formal. His socks are STUPID and GIMMICKY and never match, and his wallet has a million keychains HIS BACKPACK omg like every stereotypical veggie boy he has alll the vegan loser pins and patches. Animal activist Stan forever.

A very casual dresser tbh, t shirts and jeans, sweatpants, hoodies (that have mostly been confiscated by Kyle) like he truly sucks at clothes unless he’s going stupid abt a Halloween costume. He kinda relies on Ky to know what looks good on him irl, bc Kyle is VERY reactive when he’s dressed a certain way and Kyle climbing him= ah yes I look Not Disheveled right to jail for both of them.

Oh KYLE!!! From Stan’s pov??? OJV Stan is a huge fucking fantasy loser and he only knows the word “ethereal” bc he’s a nerd and it describes Kyle. On GOD OJV Kyle is so pretty!!! Like Stanley Down Bad Marsh is ENTHRALLED!!! Always, like since he knew what beauty was, beauty was Kyle.

My guy, OJV Kyle is TINY. Not as short as Kenny and Tweek, but close and definitely skinny to the point where if he misses a meal EVERYONE is on his bony ass bc 1) diabetes and 2) they all know his past with eds and no one’s gonna let that shit get its claws on him again! Unfortunately, OJV Kyle has a really hard time gaining weight, but as an adult he’s fully recovered, just kinda slim and at risk of health problems from the damage he did, but he’s mostly ok.

Ky topped off at 5’7 and was the tallest of the m5 in 7th grade and then EVERYONE but Kenny surpassed him WHICH he was pissed abt for a while. But he kinda stopped caring once he and Stan got together bc Stan wasn’t thattt much taller at first (and then this mf got huge) but Kyle was… VERY INTO THAT! It’s so unserious bc when they’re older Kyle’s like dude just fuckin toss me around and Stan WILL NOT because he’s NERVOUS and also traumatized from the ONE time he reinjured Kyle’s bad knee during Super Best Spicy Time (yes that’s what his loser ass named the sex playlist) but when Ky gets in the mood he wants to be manhandled frfr (I will do a nsfw headcanon post prolly) like the SIZE DIFFERENCE kyle is so spicy 100% calls the shots out here climbin Staniel like a tree.

He’s pale as fuck, cannot tan at allll this dude will not go outside without sunscreen bc he IS Sheila’s son and had it drilled into him that they are pale redheads and uv rays are not their friend, BUT his freckles are faint and so prettttttyyyyy he doesn’t even hate them bc Stan loves them and Kyle loves Stan (losers) he’s got a little group of them on his left cheekbone that Stan INSISTS looks like a heart aaaaaaaaaa

At the moment, I’ve barely gotten past the plotting stage and I’m far too enthused to start some fantasy threads, specifically medieval / historical fantasy threads. 14) Describe your feelings on Disney’s animated film catalogue (and/or Pixar as a separate studio and as a conglomerate of the Disney corporation)

As much as I despise Disney as a company, I can't deny that their films were a huge part of my childhood as well as a major player in developing my undying love for the art of animation. I'm mostly talking about their older, 2D films, as their 3D films I grew up with really never stuck w/ me as closely and I admittedly haven't even a new film from them since Zootopia back in 2016

With Pixar my feelings aren't quite as complicated. Their 90's and 2000's output still remain some of my favorite 3D animated films of all time (except Cars simply because it never really make me feel anything for it, good or bad). Yet after Up came out and they were forced to do a bunch of sequels after being bought out by Disney I stopped caring about their film output, especially since their style of 3D animation became homogenized to the point where it looked no different from a Disney film. I could rant about this further but I don't wanna turn this into an essay...

Anyway, here's a list of my favorite Disney films in no particular order: Alice in Wonderland, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Mulan, Robin Hood, Fantasia, The Lion King 1 & 2

And here are my favorite Pixar films also in no particular order: The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., A Bug's Life, Toy Story 1 & 2, Finding Nemo, WALL-E (though I will admit as of late I feel this film has a few serious issues that hampers my enjoyment of it)

16) Are there any animated films that you think deserve to be in the Criterion Collection? What is your overall opinion on their current collection of animated features?

There are dozens upon dozens of animated films I think should be in the Criterion Collection because quite frankly their animation catalogue is still a sad joke

Like I'm glad that there's at least more than 3 films inducted into the collection now. I'm glad that they have recognized Lotte Reniger's and Suzan Pit's work as well as many animated works outside of America, England, and France. But good gods they're still SO MUCH that deserve to be in there!

Where the hell is Akira, one of the most influential anime of all time?

If Watership Down is (rightfully) in there than why not also The Plague Dogs, an equally beloved adaptation of Richard Adam's work?

Caroline Leaf was one of the pioneering filmmakers for Canada's National Film Board, so why aren't her animated masterpieces featured in here?

How come none of Yuri Norstein's films aren't on there despite being one of Hayao Miyazaki's greatest influences and the fact that Tale of Tales is still considered by many to be the greatest animated short film ever made?

I mean fuck where's Princess Mononoke or ANY Ghibli film for that matter?!

(Also for those curious the only Disney/Pixar film in their collection is WALL-E, and it's one of the seven animated films that are available in their dvd/blu-ray collection..)

It's just so depressing to me because many people still consider the collection to be a stronghold for the some of the most important works of film ever made. The fact that so little animation is featured on there feeds into the lie that mature, thoughtfully made animated films are a rare find, as well as the idea that animation as a medium is inherently less valuable than live action films, and that pisses me off to no end >:(

Aeryn shook her head. Thancred was a gregarious man, objectively handsome–the open cut of the oasis style shirt and jacket he wore tonight flattered his athletic form–and they’d fought alongside one another a few times now. He had been looking out for her, naught more, his perceptive skills noting her discomfort.

4. Fourth Most Bookmarks: Rogue’s Prelude. An earlier longfic (37.2k words) of my headcanon of Thancred meeting Louisoix, Papalymo, and Yda as a youth in Limsa Lominsa.

The docks were busy; the tide had come in recently and had brought a number of ships with it, divesting cargo and people into the city. Thancred enjoyed the sights, sounds, and even some of the smells as he wove between fishermen stalls and merchant carts, seeking unfamiliar faces. He didn’t even look as he brushed past a few Thavnairian traders, listening to their sing-song language as he cloyed a purse from one animated fellow, arguing with the bosun of the ship they had just left. He should really pay more attention to his surroundings when in a foreign city. As should the older elezen man Thancred noted, leaning on a staff while a pretty blonde hyur woman consulted a map. Her elder listened to her with patience--or perhaps he was simply half-asleep in the sun and heat. Thancred ambled toward the pair, falling in behind sailors moving crates from the pier onto their ship, now that their passengers had disembarked. As he moved past his mark, he deftly nicked the contents from the old man’s belt pouch-- --and found himself skidding a few fulms down the dock, a brief flash of light and a sound like a small, localized clap of thunder ringing Thancred’s ears and causing stars to burst before his eyes. A few people nearby were startled; he thought he maybe heard someone laugh.

5. Fifth Most Words: Bearing Sins of the Past. A 25.1k longfic that unexpectedly came out of various FFXIV Write prompts about my WoL Aeryn's backstory; her bio-father's involvement in the Dragonsong War, and the Dragoon that hid that knowledge for twenty years to keep her safe--and bury his own guilt.

X’rhun narrowed his eyes. “I agreed to the secret for your damnable Ishgardian politics,” he said. “But it’s just us out here. Are you truly protecting Aeryn—or yourself?” Alberic turned, and X’rhun braced himself, as he was certain the dragoon was about to strike him. Instead, Alberic remained in a state of tension, staring without seeing at some middle distant point. “You ever carry something so long it’s become woven into you?” he asked quietly.

6. Least Words: Savior, the very first thing I posted to Ao3. 262 words, 2nd person POV about the aftermath of the Final Steps of Faith. There are technically shorter works, but they tend to go into my prompt or specific topic-chaptered fics.

You couldn’t save them. They had sacrificed themselves, to ensure you lived, to ensure this moment. They had come, once again, to your side. To end the war. To protect the city. To save a friend.

no but honestly from what ive seen on here the characters seem really interesting (and angsty), and i would watch the anime for the only reason that i cant buy the manga and im horrible at reading manga on screens, and like i dont know how good the anime is compared to the manga?? so if you watched please tell me if its good!!

you really saw jason narration and jason getting love and you ran with it /lovingly

both of those are so over complicating for no reason (especially in my head since the amount that i wrote compared to the amount of plot in my head is embarrassing) and they almost were the same fic (they intersect a lot time-line wise) but they have a different focus and themes and narration style and i just split it into two different works to make it simpler

i do love complicating things as you can see
