(he caught you and you're losing consciousness from the hyperventilation <3) anyway!! this is lucas <333 human bean to pair with my borrower mags, has a flat personality to match how apathetic he is about a borrower living in his house despite being aware of his presence since day one he knows mags is there, making tunnels in his walls and stealing his food and overstaying his welcome, but he doesn't much care about any of it beyond the property damage he just likes to... y'know... give him heart palpitations sometimes, as recompense

i really wanted to make him look as unemotive as possible, because as a tiny what could be more terrifying than a giant who shows neither joy nor anger at your presence? a giant who shows nothing at all, so you are completely unaware of your fate :)

No metas in Gotham. That was the one rule Lucas knew by heart, long before they had ever come to the city. They had never planned to be so flagrant about breaking it.

In their defence, they hadn’t known Batman was right there. And you could only really blame their reflexes for throwing a punch automatically upon realising there was someone behind them.

It hadn’t landed, somewhat predictably, but they had still just tried to punch the Batman. After being caught using their powers.

So yeah, they were in deep shit.

Naturally, the only logical response was to start sprinting for dear life.

Using their powers again would be a very bad idea. Anything that let Batman know more about how they worked would give him more chance of figuring out how to catch them.

“Can you just lay off?” They snapped, distorting their voice slightly. “I haven’t done anything wrong!”

They got, predictably, no answer.

Running was starting to take its toll. They couldn’t outrun him forever, it was frankly a miracle they lasted this long, and-

Their core twinged.

Barely taking a moment to acknowledge they had a core they turned sharply, sliding down from the rooftop and sprinting towards the source of safe king protector-

“Danny!” Their face lit up as they barrelled into him, grinning at his shock. “It’s good to see you again, it’s been ages!”

But their smile dropped as Danny pulled away, looking at them in pure confusion.

“Who are you? And why.. why are you like me?”

“That’s what I want to know as well.”

They both froze at the low voice, Lucas spinning around to stare up at Batman with a gulp.

“That’s a funny story…”

Slowly they began to sink through the floor. Despite themself, they grinned as they slipped easily through his grasp and floated down to the sewers.

“Well, not the best start. Not the worst either.” They hummed, pulling out their notebook to start writing without distractions.

Their core tinged again. Crap.

“Start. Talking.”
