oml the fankids are so adorable😭💕 I need to read the rest of your post but from what I seen so far I adore these two. You’re making me inspired to bring back the Krook fankids…
Kyou…Alban I have not drawn them in a HOT minute!!!
But goodness, I can only imagine how Ulla and Lavern would look like as NRC students. I have a feeling these two would be…interesting to say the least.
OMG!! Thank you so much and please do bring back Kyou and Alban! I remember skimming through them before and they’re so precious as well! The blood pact you had and then the influx of TWST fankids from other creators who joined in were wild times, but fun to see ^^
(…Also- what if your fankids and mine had a playdate all together- Haha, Jk… unless? :3<)
I’ll admit I haven’t thought that far into how Ulla and Lavern would be as NRC students, but Ulla’s dorm would be Savannaclaw (fulfilling her father’s dream-), and Lavern’s would be Scarabia. *And OFC they nerf anyone who dares comment on their “deformity”*

Promising Young Woman Review: a Revenge Fantasy for the Modern Female
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Rape-revenge never looked so gorgeous in Promising Young Woman. Bright colors, exquisite clothes and Carey Mulligan’s beautiful face light up the screen even when the film is at its darkest. This is a very modern and very female take on that particular sub-genre for a post- #MeToo world and it’s one of the most compelling films of the year – one which is bound to provoke much discussion after the credits roll.
This is the directorial debut of Emerald Fennell, writer and showrunner on Killing Eve Season Two who is also known for portraying Camilla Parker Bowles in The Crown. And what a confident debut it is, a film with a distinct visual style and an equally distinct soundtrack with big things to say and an excellent cast to help her say them with nuance and humour. It comes from Margot Robbie’s production company LuckyChap Entertainment, which also produced this years’ Birds of Prey, a similarly fun, colorful, female driven movie with points to make about toxic masculinity. With Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie and a Tank Girl remake on the slate, LuckyChap has the potential to become the home of all sorts of promising women.
Carey Mulligan as our avenging angel is a revelation. Cast against type she plays Cassie, by day a bright, attractive coffee shop worker who hangs out with her boss (Laverne Cox) and lives with her folks (Clancy Brown and Jennifer Coolidge). On the surface she seems ok – well presented with perfect multi-coloured nails and a biting sense of humour – but her parents are worried. Cassie was once a high achieving medical student but an incident saw her drop out and now her life seems to be on hold.
Cassie is on a mission. At night she goes to bars and nightclubs alone and pretends to be helplessly drunk. There, invariably, a man will come to her ‘rescue’, take her back to his place and get non-consensual, fast. That is until Cassie reveals she was stone cold sober all along…
Mulligan’s screen persona absolutely works in her favor – best known for period dramas, often playing characters who are soft, gentle and vulnerable, Mulligan’s Cassie is a woman it’s easy to underestimate. Here she is brittle, funny, furious and drop dead gorgeous, with a wardrobe to die for, dressed each night in different ‘costumes’ – the professional woman, the party girl, the hipster chick. It doesn’t matter what type of woman you are, or what type of drinking establishment you are in, the film says, the narrative is still the same. Mulligan is mesmerising – you can’t take your eyes off her – but the camera’s gaze is distinctly female, gorging on her outfits, her nails, her hair extensions rather than her body.
Fennell makes smart casting choices for the men, casting actors who are best known for playing ‘nice guy’ characters including The OC’s Adam Brody and Glee’s Chris Lowell. Bo Burnham plays a standout supporting role too, as Ryan, a guy who comes into the coffee shop where Cassie works who might just be the man to break her destructive revenge cycle and allow her to heal. Burnham is funny and incredibly likeable and the two have great chemistry, it’s one of the things that makes Promising Young Woman such an enjoyable film to watch, despite the seriousness of the subject matter.
There’s a mystery behind Cassie’s mission and as the story unfolds themes of complicity are explored and how educational establishments deal with assault allegations (there’s an entire documentary about this very problem called The Hunting Ground if you’re in any doubt as to whether this is realistic). Alison Brie, Connie Britton and Alfred Molina fill out the supporting cast in roles that smartly expose the backstory of perhaps the most important character in the movie who never appears on screen. It’s a great script which Fennell also wrote.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
In the final act though, things get thorny, when the dark fairytale style of the film gives way to harsh reality. It’s an ending which audiences may find divisive that slightly fudges its own internal logic. Love or hate the end, it is unusual and bold even if it’s not necessarily satisfying. Fennell has taken a well-worn set of tropes and given them a dazzling makeover, but just because the film looks lip smacking don’t be surprised to find razor blades inside the candy coating.
Promising Young Woman is in theaters on December 25 in the UK. It opens in the UK on February 12.

P101 HC Series: Start!
(Here’s the start of my HC series I’m hoping to do/keep on regarding my Pirate101 captain's. (Been wanting to do this for a while...) Before I start with my youngest pirate captain, here’s a note: These will include my group of pirate captain ocs. Key for the naming thing: ‘Title’ First name Last Name (class; age at the start of Pirate101’s story) (BTW, in my head, the whole Armada/Kane arc takes about 2 ½ to 3 years to complete so when/if I mention after Armada war things, just add 2 years to the character’s given age) Their names are ‘Nimble’ Emily Richardson (main; swashbuckler; was 16 y/o), ‘Daring’ Hope Nightingale (musketeer; 14 y/o), ‘Silent’ Alicia Stevenson (Privateer; 18 y/o), ‘Crafty’ Sophia Laverne (Witchdoctor; 19 y/o), and ‘Crafty’ Max Mainstay (Buccaneer; 17 y/o). Also note that I might not know every canon thing about the companion backstories in the game because of my terrible memory, so these might be canon-divergent. Also note that universal characters (like Ratty, Kitty, and Skelley) are on Emily’s crew but all others are on their other respective crews (with other ocs probably being on Alicia’s crew cause she’s a privateer and all))
(Now that that is over, here’s Hope!)
--All of the starter companions are protective of their captain, no matter if they are the first mate or not.
--Yes, even Wing Chun.
--Speaking of, he’s very blunt and rude because he grew up not learning how to filter things. He still does care a lot about his captain, Hope. You touch her and you’ll be getting a bird beak in your face.
--So Louis is on Hope’s crew and she once said she loved skyfish, any and all types. So after long days of either running from the armada or just a rough day in general, he fishes with his harpoon gun to get the biggest fish he finds and Lucky Jack cooks it up. It always cheers the girl up.
--In all honesty, Hope doesn’t act like a captain often. Everyone on the ship, including her, sees Jack as the captain and her the first mate, but he insisted she be the captain because of her parents.
--She was born in Marleybone and lived there most of her life. Her parents were a part of the Royal Navy until they took a mission to hunt down some hidden smuggled goods and never came back. Jack had stayed back to watch the young Hope and sailed her to Skull Island when Armada soldiers became interested in the daughter of the Famous Nightingale Royal Navy Captains.
--Despite her young age, she is an excellent shot. Give her any type of gun and in a matter of a few shots she will be able to hit a glass bottle from almost any distance. Jack says she got it from her parents, who both favored guns.

Fanchild: Ulla Felmier + Lavern Hunt
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
*This is set in a neutral setting where nobody’s in a relationship yet.
[Notes]
• How did they come to NRC? Uhh… Multidimensional time rip. Epel and Rook were going their merry ways until *BOOM* child falls from the sky and into their arms.
• Rook and Epel are quite pleased to know they could have a family in the future. Though Epel may seem flustered and in denial of wanting to be a father at first, the idea of having children of his own and letting them take over the farm is appealing. As for Rook, he’s fine with having children or without! Lavern’s existence doesn’t scare him a single bit.
• With Epel’s pre-established crush on Cloche, his heart is jumping in joy. He was initially iffy about finding out who exactly the other parent was, until he saw the white tail that resembled Cloche’. In his mind, there couldn’t possibly any other beastmen who matched the description! Jack may have white fur, but he’s a wolf. Ulla continues to give Epel hope that someday, the cat maid might like him back. Epel did want a son, but Ulla was too cute to resist.
• Oh là là! Who would have thought that the Hunter of Love would be struck by his own arrow in the future? When he first saw Lavern, his impressions were ‘Who is this lost child?’ Instead of Lavern immediately clinging on to his father, like Ulla, Lavern was less than happy to fall into the arms of a ‘stranger who looked very much like his dad’. Even without Lavern addressing Rook as ‘Papa’, it didn’t take long for Rook to deduce that the boy was his child and Cloche’. Instead of Epel’s eagerness, Rook felt intrigued. In all his time of observing Cloche, never had he ever considered her to be anything but ‘that underclassmen’.
• How is Cloche coping? She’s not. Questions like “When were they born” “Why are there two of them from different parents?” “Does this imply I’m never leaving Twisted Wonderland?” “Did I give birth to them?” and “Is this going to blow my cover?” are all running wild. Cloche is aware of her …questionable views of family, and would much rather not have a child, than be a bad parent.
[Ulla Felmier]
• Epel originally wanted a son, but his disappointment in having a daughter disappeared when he held her as a baby for the first time. Epel cracked when Ulla’s tiny hand curled around his finger, realizing how tiny and precious she was.
• Ulla is spoiled— and I mean, sPOILED. Not just by her parents, but by those around her. That’s right, she has pretty privilege (mostly inherited from her dad). It also didn’t help that Harveston dotes on Ulla, almost as much as they did Epel. Ulla is well-behaved until backs are turned and eyes are closed. Ulla may come off as lazy, and carefree, but she can be quite cunning.
• The braided green toque and red overalls is supposed to represent a poisoned apple. Even when she’s not in Harveston, or if it’s not cold out, Ulla still prefers to wear the toque because it hides the fact she doesn’t have ears. Ulla might not show it, but she’s the most insecure about not having ears like other beastmen.
• Inherited Cloche’ loose morals, and Epel’s adventurousness.
• Definitely picked up on the Harveston dialect. Ulla and Epel communicate with each other in it behind Cloche’ back for special ‘father-daughter bonding time’. And by that… Epel secretly baking sweets for Ulla, and letting her go on the ‘grown up’ sleds. Epel would also have taught Ulla self defence, which later turned straight up fighting tactics.
• In Ulla’s eyes, Epel is the manliest and beefiest Pop in the world. This causes some confusion when she gushes about how ‘manly’ little fluffy rabbits, and baby chicks are.
[Lavern Hunt]
• Rook is more than happy to have such an uncommon type of beastman for a son. But of course, if he hears anyone commenting about Lavern’s lack of a tail, then bow strings are about to be plucked. When Rook first saw baby Lavern, he couldn’t help but laugh because of how funny the boy looked, but loves him regardless.
• The type of child who has to see everything for himself, to truly believe. Will not back down unless given a reason (he can understand) to. Impatient, but will put in the work needed to get the results he wants. Other kids find it hard to work with him. Additionally, it takes Lavern a long time to adapt to change and accept it.
• Cloche wanted to dress Lavern up nicer, but compromised to let Lavern wear sandals/slides/flip flops because of comfort. The footwear is also a subtle nod to Afterglow Savanna’s hot weather.
• Inherited Cloche’ skepticism, and Rook’s stubbornness.
• When disciplined, Cloche always speaks to Lavern in the same neutral tone and expression, whilst Rook has a wider range. Rook can maintain a soft smile while chiding Lavern, to showing disapproval on his face through narrowed eyes and furrowed brows. The moment Lavern notices Rook’s smile is gone, that’s when he actually feels like he’s messed up.
• Can only understand Rook’s French, but not speak it. Over time, Lavern also grew accustomed to all the big, flowery words Rook throws around— thus expanding his vocabulary quicker. With Cloche’ preference of academics, and Rook’s love of poetry, it’s no surprise that Lavern is the Spelling Bee king.
